Kinda hard to explain,
Contacts are kinda like little soft disks that you put in your eyes.
They don't just change your eye color but they elimate the need for glasses.
Your susposted to take them off before you go to sleep, and you need a new pair of contacts every week or so.
Heh, I'll be getting contacts soon.

Actually...
I only need to change my contacts every month or whenever they hurt my eyes.
I've been on the same pair for about four months.
They also make some that you can sleep in.
And they have contacts that are specificly for changing your eye color and not for eye sight needs.
I have colored contacts.
I'll try to post a picture of them and me with/without them in tomorrow.

Actually you're only supposed to change them once a month (at least that's what my eye doctor tells me about my type of contacts) but I change them every 2-3 weeks because they get like... Mushy, I guess. And some are colored just not all of them. And my cousin wears the kind you can sleep in.
Am I the only one who's heard that colored contacts are bad for your eyes? I don't know if that's true or not.

Yeah, you have to make sure that your eyes are a good color for colored contacts.
This girl I'm 'friends' with on Facebook bought purple contacts, and they look absolutely stupid because you can see her eyecolor underneath them.

so then, where did you get them?
because every time i try to order or purchase in a store the good, high quality contacts, i always have to present a note from an eye doctor.

There are thousands of different kinds of contacts out there, and all have different amounts of time you can wear them for.
While your's are good for 4 weeks, mine are only good for 2.
And I'm not a big fan of people wearing colored contacts on an everyday basis. They usually look fake, and I generally think people's REAL eye colors are prettier than some peice of plastic.

I have semi-dark colored eyes and my contacts work quite well.
Sorry for the bad-quality pictures.

I have a question though.
How do you see through that though?
Like I have seen contacts that have colored pupils.
How are you supposed to see through it?

The black part of your eye is the only part you actually "see" through, not the coloured part.
The contacts just cover the coloured part.

No thats not what Im talking about.
The pupil.
Ive seen colored contacts, that are different colors OVER the pupil.
Which always made me wonder how people could see, It just seems impossible (shouldnt it?).
The colored part is NOT the pupil. Isnt it the iris? Or..something.
In fact at disney, this guy had colored contacts that were completely red (no black). :scared1:

do contacts hurt when you put them in?
Not usually.
If you have something in them (like a hair, an eyelash, or dust) then yeah, it hurts, but for me it goes the pain goes away in a few minutes.
