I'll add mine. We'll be there October 16 with my DH and four kids.

I've never been before to the actual party and I am really excited. I loved all the Halloween decorations last year in the parks!

My 7 year old twins have already informed me they want to be Sleeping Beauty and Pocahontas. But my DS13 is too cool to dress up.
My DD11 is undecided and will probably remain so until 2 days before the party. :rotfl:

It used to be called Mickey's Halloween Treat, but not it's Mickey's Trick or Treat Party.

Mickey’s Halloween Treat
At Disney's California Adventure Park, ‘Mickey’s Halloween Treat’ is scheduled for select nights throughout October. This ‘private’ party is open only to special ticket holders and great part, is anyone can purchase tickets this year.

Familiar attractions, music, Treat Stations for the little ones and creepy crafts are just s few activities available during the party. You never know who you’ll run into on these special nights, oh and don’t forget to wear your Halloween costumes.

New for 2007 is a character cavalcade, added Treat stations, interactive games and a fun dance party with DJ Mickey.

I'm travelling my boyfriend's mom. I usually don't refer to her that way because yeah, we're more like friends. :) She's a real sweetheart. It's her first time to Disneyland ever, so I am making sure she doesn't miss anything I think she may like.

I'm thinking about dressing up to. But I have to figure out a custome that will survive a trip from Germany first.

Our break is the first full week of October. It is ALWAYS pretty empty the week we are there (and we go every year). Wed. is definitely the least crowded, followed by Tuesday.

We are trying REALLY hard to get back down there Oct 29-Nov 3. So we are going to try to hit either the 29th or 30th. (I assume that the 31st will be CRAZY??)

I can't believe you have to wait until Aug to buy tickets...hmmm, where do you sign up for the Disney Visa? That allows you to buy tickets early right? Do they normally "sell out" or do they sell what people are willing to buy?

My young DD is looking to dress up as Tink. My older DD will be with her marching band during this time so, only 1 kid for us!!

It sounds like so much fun!

Or maybe there's a number you can call. :confused3 Yes, right now you can buy tix if you have either an AP or a Disney Visa.

Also are all the DCA rides open during this party? They should definitely be doing the fireworks on Saturday night. Unless they are canceled due to bad weather or winds. We've had that happen to us before. They've actually stopped the fireworks half way through before, so you never know.

As for the rides in DCA being open, I know some of them are, but not all. Mainly the big ones. But yeah, there will be rides to go on.

Hope that helps.

I am. I think I am going to be Minnie Mouse this year, possibly Snow White. It depends on my kids. I want my 4 year old to be Grumpy (I have the best Grumpy costume for him), be he doesnt want to be Grumpy. My youngest is going to be Mickey, that is why I am going to be Minnie. I am trying to convince my 2yo to be Pluto before the Pluto costume doesnt fit him, his fantasia mickey will still fit him next year.

I'll have to see when it get closer what would sounds good to me. And also what the weather is as that will play a factor in what I wear as well.

Thanks for the pics!! :thumbsup2

Hey, that's when we'll be there! ::yes::

That's a great idea! Wear something that can be easily disassembled so if you want you can head over to DL afterwards.

I'm going to dress up, too! I might make my own costume, I would be Gus Gus from Cinderella, if I don't find one I like from the Disney Store. I was the Queen of Hearts last year. It was great!:goodvibes

How cute you will look and you will stand out in a crowd!

Maybe I'll meet some of you guys. Room Mate has told me to try and go for October 31 if I want and if we can get the tickets in advance after all.
so if you see somebody looking like a Pooh-sized wood fairy in autum feel free to say hi. ;)

My hair's very short, so I'm going to wear a wreath decorated with some leaves and small sunflowers. I kind of look like a autumn fairy until you see the rest of my clothes, so I am not totally off the Disney subject I guess. :goodvibes

The whole costume looks really nice. We dyed our shirts ourselves and all that jazz. Mine is all in red and yellow. I'm really proud everything turned out so well. It was the first time I've ever done this.

I started with yellow and the dye wasn't that bad. When I went on to red I realized that it may have been a smart move to wear gloves. My hands looked like I clawed my way out of a locked closet or something for days. :lmao:

That's a great idea! Wear something that can be easily disassembled so if you want you can head over to DL afterwards.

Exactly that was our plan.

I was going to stuff the flowers in my bag. But if they want me to discard them it won't be a problem. We got them from the Dollar Store, so they're certainly not irreplacable.

I didn't even think of Utah invasion weekend! Is it really crowded?

I am not sure specifically about the "Utah Invasion" but we go every year in early October - we often run into a lot of Canadians because I think it around the time of Canada's Thanksgiving. I can tell you that Monday is generally a little busy, Tuesday and Wednesday are really crowd-free, Thursday gets a little busier, Friday is pretty busy, especially in the late-afternoon/evening when it seems that a lot of locals come and Saturday is really crowded - at least compared to Tuesday/Wednesday. I don't know if a Saturday in October is as bad as any day in the summer but it sure is crowded after being there all week with few crowds. I would assume that this pattern is fairly true all October.

My family will be going on the 29th. We bought our tickets yesterday. I thought it was kind of interesting that there were less dates for AP's to choose from and it's more expensive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I went to the one in the MK @ WDW and it was so great. I hope one day they'll do this in DL.

Honestly, I don't know. I've never been but truth be told, from what I've read, I'm worried about my 13 year old son being bored as well. He could care less about dressing up and trick or treating and doing crafty things, or taking pics with the characters. So I don't know. :confused3

I am still going though because I also have 3 girls who I know will love it. So in our case, he's going to have to suck it up for one night. :rotfl:

But if you've got two boys of that age......well, I'm not sure. Maybe someone who's been can offer an opinion.

I took my then-12-year-old daughter last year and she liked it - but she is not a kid who tries to be older than her years. However, even if your kids don't want to do the trick-or-treating, the rides are open with short or no lines - I would think any kids would like that!

We'll be there if all goes according to plan! Oct 22. Got our tickets the other day.

It should be my boyfriend and me, and we want to be Woody and Bo Peep. We decided on that before the new ride... now it's even better!

Two of our friends, another couple, want to come. We're trying to figure out what all four of us could be as a group if they do come. We'd love to do a theme, especially Disney! However, we figure our manly 23 year old boyfriends wouldn't be hot being Peter Pan, for example. So if anyone has any ideas, we're totally open! We were thinking maybe villain couples
(my boyfriend suggested King and Queen of Hearts) but we can't think of any other couples, lol. So maybe just four random villains.

We also went last year. We were just generic pirates, but I think we looked pretty cute :). I'll try to post a picture later.

I've heard stories about it being busy and selling out on certain days, but there is really no way to predict just which days will be busy and which won't. Obviously certain days will be busier then others. The closer you get to Halloween the busier it is and week-ends would be busier as well.
I've heard Halloween night sells out so I'd say that's a busy one.

I'd say your best bet is just to pick a night that works for you, get a great costume, and just go have fun and hope for the best crowd wise. :thumbsup2

Even if it did sell out, don't they sell only a certain number of tickets? Or do they go ahead and cram the park? If anyone has attended in years past, I'd love to know.

Yeah, I've been to the park at Halloween before but not to this party so I'm really not sure. Hopefully someone will pop on who's been and can answer your question.

I think they only sell a certain number of tickets per night. I don't know the exact number, but I've heard 7,000 tickets in the past. Again, I'm not sure. Whatever the number, it is a good time to go. There really isn't much of a wait for the rides. Some areas get busy like the arts and crafts area. In years past, I have gone to the Bug's Life area and got to on the rides over and over again with my (then) 8DD. It is really fun to walk around and the park that is not usually available at night like th Redwood Creek Trail area. I would make up your mind on the date you want to go by the end of August. Just to be sure you get the tickets dates you want. They will sell out on the dates closer to Halloween. Hope that helps.

Glad I could help. Hey Tracy, we are going on the 23rd. My kids have that week off, so we always go to DLR for a few days the third week of Oct. I have gone every year they have had it and love going to DLR during that time. Now if only they would have a parade like at the MK's MNSSHP. That would be awesome.

BLANKS: If you see a design that you would like blank so that you can personalize it yourself just ask. If you just need a year changed I will do that.

If you want something that is fairly generic that could be used by other people (for example, the word "mom" changed to "grandma") let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Jade, most printing companies cannot print those up on shirts for you because they are Disney. You can purchase transfer paper and make them for yourself though - which is what most people on the DISign board do. It's not hard!!

No, not dumb! The reason I know is because I asked a t-shirt printer myself :thumbsup2 You can get the transfer paper in the craft section (usually) of places like Wal-Mart or such. I get it from Staples. The instructions are on the pack and it's not too hard. Just make sure you if you are using dark shirts to get the dark paper (if you get the white, all the white will show on the shirt).

I've never gone to a t-shirt printer. I've always wanted to though. Are they
expensive ? I tried transfer paper, and its great because its the direct
image, but it fades sooo terribly. I'm a big craftster, so I design, make
stencils, and paint myself, its not TOO hard, but it is time consuming. I
made these for our trip in January :) On accident, we used old paint, so they
have a vintage look because they chipped of nicely in the washer. Now
though, they're permanent. I've washed my shirt so many times and they
still look the same !

We are planning to go on Halloween (otherwise known as Nevada Day to us Las Vegans)

DS will be either Roo or Piglet (bought both costumes way cheap from the Disney Shopping Outlet).

I would like to be Kanga but will have to see if I can craft together a costume as I cannot find one for sale.

DH will likely be either Pooh Bear or Tigger.

Can't wait! We were there last year on a MHT night but didn't have tickets. I am excited to participate this year!

Why did you get kicked out last year?

Well I decided to go as a Dapper Dan and their costume consists of regular clothes (pants, vest, shirt) in which I could go in to the park w/out any problems. One big thing that got me in trouble was that my friend let me use his CM badge as a part of my costume so when I went in a store, a CM told me I couldn't be in there and then discovered that it wasn't mine so he tood away the badge. Then he decided to go postal and called security when he wasn't going to in the first place. :scared: Then a million of them came and one security guy said I looked too much like a Dapper Dan even though I'm a girl and all the other guards that were there didn't even care and was just standing around. So after a million yrs of standing around, he told me take off the vest and he let me go. But the person in charge of the Dapper Dans saw my costume and loved it and wanted me to meet them. So after the security incident, I got to meet the Dapper Dans and they loved my costume too and wanted to get a pic w/ me. But the big thing was, was that since it was Halloween, their costume was a different color so how could anyone even mistake me for them?!? Plus, not everyone knows who the Dapper Dans are. So the CM from the store saw that I was there taking a pic w/ the Dans and called security AGAIN so when we were done, the anal guard came and told his supervisor (who was nicer than he was, maybe bc she was a girl; I dunno) but since we were just waiting to go into the then Mickey's Halloween Treat, she told me and my family to leave DL. Boy was I pissed at the CMs, but I love the Dapper Dans! They were so nice.

Yeah they're a sing on Main Street in the style of a barbershop quartet. It would've been nice if they were there, but I guess you can't win 'em all.

Seriously. But you know a lot of those security ppl, they're just mad that they never became a cop. ;) They have to boss ppl around somehow. I'm just glad that my friend had an extra badge. I pretended to not know his full name so he wouldn't get in trouble w/ the dimbos. When I took a pic w/ the Dapper Dans, the person who was in charge of them put her badge on me so I could look "official." She was sweet.

Well it technically wasn't a "costume" bc only kiddies can wear costumes. It was just some clothes that I put together so I looked like a Dapper Dan in which I really didn't look like them at the time bc their costumes were different. Plus, I was hanging out w/ my parents who just looked like themselves for the party and didn't dress up. So you know I just looked like a big ball of trouble. ;)

It is definitely not a "must". My kids' costumes were not ready when we went in early October last year (as I always sew them and had not finished yet). A few CMs joked with them about not being in costume but they were certainly not the only ones. We are going to try to be in costume this year because it will be a little more fun that way, but definitely not a big deal if you aren't. We did wear Halloween shirts/colors though. Again, not a must.

We don't really "do" Halloween here in Aus., and I know the kids would get a real kick out of going to a real Halloween party.

Is it a "must" to come in costume ?Hi there! Definitely not a must, BUT if they've never really done Halloween, maybe they'd like to give it a go. Really get into the spirit of things so to speak. LOL

What are their ages? Mine are 8, 8, 11 and 13, and all the but the 13 year old love dressing up for Halloween. My oldest is "thinking about it". If not, he'll probably just wear a Halloween t-shirt.

Even if they don't dress up, I do hope you end up buying the tickets! I think they would love it. Halloween is so much fun, it's a great time of year and one of the few holidays you don't have to go bankrupt buying presents, putting together Easter baskets, etc.
I guess that's why I love it so much, it's just cheap and fun! :rotfl2:

well im ordering them on augs 1st i figuered out how to now where do i call?
Well, I just called Disney and they said starting August 1st the general public will be able to order them online on their website, or you can call the number I called (714) 781-7290 and she said they will transfer you to Tickets and Reservations.

I am so excited!! I cannot wait to go. My kids decided to start saving all the coins they find and money they earn to turn in for Disney$ when we go.

I think about 5 more days and I will finally be able to do the double digit dance!!

Good for them! It's fun to watch those coins add up (and they do!) and then turn it in for Disney $$.

I'm so excited too. I try not to think about it too much since it's still so far off, but I can't help it. :rotfl2:

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but here is the disneyland.com webpage with the party info on it. Then off to the side is a link to buy the regular park tickets. I'm sure once the MTOT party ones go on sale there will be a link there or just follow the one already on the page. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks so much for the replies, TahoeMom and mommaU4 :)

The kids will be 3, 6, 7, and 11. I think I may try to get something along the lines of Halloween shirts if I can find them.

Sounds like it'll be loads of fun, so looks like I'll be booking on the 1st August :wizard:

Boo, my plans already fell through. How is that even possible so many months before?! That's what I get for buying my tickets early.

Anywho, I think we're going to go on Oct 28 now, cuz those dates have the cheaper AP rate, too.

Now I have to get rid of my other tickets. Weren't a lot of people selling on eBay last year? I wonder if August would be too early to sell them (at AP rate). Anyone buy them off there last year?

I have no clue if they would allow it or not though. I think the only place you might have an issue is when you first get in. I'd wear some big sunglasses then and not worry about it the rest of the time.

If you had to, could you bring the make-up with you and apply it there? :confused3

I think I might just practice it more so that I can be more time efficient , thanks mommaU4 !!That might be a good idea. Out of curiousity I called Guest Services to ask your question.

I explained about not wearing any other part of the costume until later that evening, but just having a small painted black mask on the eye area, and they said no. That woud not be allowed. She suggested bringing the make-up and storing it in a locker and applying it later.

Soooo, for what it's worth, there ya go. I don't know if that's true or not because I've found some cast members to be stricter then others, but I'm not sure if you want to take that chance. Sounds like they might be really cracking down those nights.

In any case you are going to look great! Make sure to take lots of pics. :)

This is slightly off topic, but since MTOT party takes place at night, I am going to need a better camera.
