View Full Version : Anyone holding out for Contemporary?

My favorite park is MK and would love to get to be on the Monorail one day. And although CR isn't necessarily my style, the size and location of the CR DVC seem to have potential. My concern is that it will be so much more expensive it will be out of our price range (much like any other Monorail resort, LOL).

Does anyone have any idea the price range? Any reasons to hold out until it opens?

Don't have any idea about the price, but certainly expect it to be more expensive, and need more points for the accommodations - But I'm anxiously awaiting too!

Based upon all the hype and buzz that we have created, you can expect the units to sell fast and at a premium.

We do it to ourselves.

As a smaller add on yes. We dont mind moving so would like to stay there a few nights and concentrate on MK, then move to BCV for the rest of the week.

We weighed our options for an add on at AKL but I decided I'd like to wait and see what DVC @ Contep will be priced at. I am assuming $124 point. Am I even close or do you think more.

I'm hoping for less than $124.

I think $110 after incentives would be much better.

I'm just hoping that we can bank and borrow to stretch 25 points to stay in a studio for 5 days every 3 years. I'd love having enough points for 1 bdrm!

OMG!!:scared1: You folks are talking me into AKV! I have been waiting patiently for the Contemporary to go on sale because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the location. We spend most of our time at MK so the Comtemporary would be perfect for us but at that price YIKES! The decor doesn't do much for me and the view is gorgeous when your watching the lights at the MK or the fireworks but other than that it's a parking lot. I definately prefer the Poly, WL, AK, etc... I like to be surrounded by greenery and/or animals. You've almost got me talked into the AKV, OOOOHHHH and the incentives, okay it's done I'm buying next week when we arrive! LOL:cool1:

I have a family member who has been waiting for this. She has been debating about joining DVC but when she heard about the Contemporary getting DVC she is going to join. She told me price is no object. They have a lot more money than most people i know.

How many points would a 2 bedroom generally go for? Is there a website someplace that lists all the point requirements for the different DVC?

unless something has changed - then the price will start at what AKV and SSR are selling for at the time.

this is not for the general public sale - but the DVC members only sale.

when it goes to the general public a month or two later - then the price will go up.

at least that is how the others worked. still haven't heard anything from disney or dvc that this will be a DVC....:wizard:

but hey dvc is always changing - they may open to the public the same time as us (doubtfully - we are their best customers)

really wish it was next Sept - can't afford it until then...

BLT @ cR might go for a little more than BCV, VWL and BWV - but not much (at least don't think so)

if buying from DVC 160 points (they went up with AKV opening).

if buying from a resalers 25 points (but these contracts are hard to get)

if you are doing an add on with DVC - 25 points if cash, 50 if financing.

I won't say I am holding out but I am definitely interested. :) I have never stayed at one of the monorail resorts. I think much of it depends on how they price - point wise - the units.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it sells for around $110 per point.

would go for enough points to stay 5 days in a studio - once a year or at least once every other year.

Depending on final point charts / cost..
I really, really want to get an add-on at Contemporary (1/3 the amount of points for my stay so I can go every 3 years)
It is ingrained in me (from a few years of off-site stays) that the monorail resorts are the ultimate Disney experience, and would certainly be the ultimate convienence for a MK heavy trip (which is typical for us)
