I think it depends on how hungry you are.
We have sucessfully split (and been satisfied with):
a pizza and salad combo in DHS
the hot deli sandwich and chips with a frozen lemonade at Pizzafari
chicken and ribs at cosmic rays
1/2 chicken dinner with 2 sides at POFQ
1/4 chicken and ribs dinner with 2 sides at POFQ
double cheeseburger and fries
Cobb salad at CR (not sure if they still sell this as it was at the old food and fun centre).
(with dessert of course! half a sweet at the end of the meal seems to top us up quite nicely)
Honestly, I'd start off buying one meal (with dessert) and if you are still hungry, use a snack credit for an extra dessert or side item. You can always buy more instead of getting two meals and tossing a bunch of fries, etc.

Who is in your party.
I have 2 teenage boys all over 6 ft. No way are they sharing anything with anyone. :rotfl: Even I haven't run across too many places that I could split with the Dh and both of come away full. Usually the only time we split is if I've had a snack (ice cream) and I'm not that hungry. If you have small children maybe..

We split alot of meals.... we are 2 adults...
We've split the double cheeseburgers, comes with fries, drink & dessert...
Also agree with previous poster w/ the pizza & salad combo, drink& dessert
Also...if you ever go over to Coronado Springs..the servings are HUGE for some of the meals. We split a taco salad and 2 of us couldn't come close to finishing it.... ended up getting our dessert to go:worship:
People used to talk alot about getting a double cheeseburger and paying out of pocket for an extra bun ...

I did that in Nov. A cashier actually commented how much $$ I was saving and that many didn't know to do this. She said " great savings". And yes it is. We carry bottled water in with crystal lite and I would drink that and by the time I added my toppings for the burger I didn't need any fries! (did eat a few just couldn't help myself  )

My mom and I split lunch frequently. Sometimes a double hamburger with fries (I ask for an extra bun) and sometimes the chicken strips with fries. I know they recently changed from chicken strips to nuggets but honestly I think we could split the eight nugget dish.
When I was there in 2003, I also split a lot of meals with my co-traveller. As some posters have said, it depends on how hungry you are! :) It also depends on what you like to eat, as well.
I know we split some stuff at Sci-Fi, Yachtsman, Planet Hollywood and a few others. Generally, though, portions are large enough to share and if not you can always grab a snack later...mmm Mickey Head Ice Cream bar...mmmm :)

The five of us (dh and I, ds14, dd13 and dd8) split 3 Cosmic Ray's chicken/ribs combos regularly. We are pleasantly full but not stuffed---who wants to be stuffed? We'll get an icecream treat a few hours later either on our way out of the park for afternoon break or during the evening before Spectro (depending on lunch or dinner meal).

The Shawarma platter at Tangierine Cafe in Epcot is definitely splitable. Wayyy too much food for one person. (Shawarma Platters - served with side of hummus, tabbouleh and Tangierine CousCous salad with fresh Moroccan bread. Chicken & Lamb $13.95; Lamb $11.95; Chicken $11.95)
I haven't been since they did away with the chicken strips and replaced them with nuggets. The chicken and fish basket at Columbia Harbour House was enough to split when it had the strips. Not sure about now. I split it with my mom a couple years back and we were very full. (Chicken Breast Nuggets and Fish - Served with French Fries or Apple Slices $8.19)
You could also use a snack credit to buy an extra side to go with a lunch entree if you felt you needed a little extra food to split.

We found that the meals at Tangierine Cafe in Morocco at Epcot were large enough to share. We bought 2 lunches (no desserts) and split them between 4 people and still had food left over!
