Were planning a mother daughter trip to WDW October 31- November 8...

I figured today would be an amazing day to start our pre-trip, cause today is the day we paid this baby off!!! Our vacation is just right around the corner and i can hardly wait! I've already got my autograph book ready in my suitcase, my Disney character shirts, and im renting all the Disney movies i can to just catch up on my trivial knowledge. Oh i forgot, i also have watched that vacation planning movie like 100 times, any one else tear up when they watch it?

The last time I went was in 5th grade and it was a family event, my mom 2 brothers step dad, grandma and her husband all went. This time things are going to be so different, im guessing it will be emotional, fun, and probably one of the most amazing vacations you can think of!

Were leaving the 31 out of Detroit, MI at 8:30, i have only flown once and that was back when i went last time, my mom on the other hand has not flown at all! this will probaly be the most entertaining part of my vacation :rotfl2: Shes planing on taking some kind of sleeping pill so she just sleeps... me on the other hand is planning on hitting the airport bar.

Pop Century was my moms hotel of choice, shes all for the flower pool. This time we have no men to carry bags so were rooting for the first floor, pool side. Yeah im pretty sure this is what she said. :confused3

Grandma has been on every Disney trip Brandi has been on so this will be her first without her. They were VERY close. She passed away almost 3 years ago. We still can't quite comprehend she is gone.

I'm sure it will be a good time. I've just made a small list of things I WON'T do.
1. Stitches Great Escape-stupid, ain't doin it!
2. Sounds Dangerous-again stupid!

so i have decided im using this as my disney diary...

Last night i decided after a long night of babysitting, i needed to go shopping online:surfweb: its my chocolate, i bought a couple things to take with me, a couple pairs of shorts, anther disney shirt. Im becoming uber prepared for this trip in the clothing department. I mean you have to look good for Mickey Mouse!!

Speaking of Mickey Mouse i used to be deathly afraid of him... We have this video of back when i was a we little lad, and we were in a room and i was hiding from him.. Pictures of me hiding from him... Wonder what was wrong with me!!:confused3

So a little about me, i've read a few of this and I guess thats the thing to do!! Im 20 years old, I serve at a wonderful restaurant called Bennigans, I have a cute little puppy named Minkiss, hes a lab/beagle mix. I still havent figured out what i want to do in life, so im just trying to explore my options, that makes mom a little sad:rolleyes1 Im still waiting for my prince charming. I have decided im not settling for less than the store book romance, I need to swept off my feet!! I swear, I'm never pre-trip shopping again! I always end up buying clothes when we're at WDW and then I never wear the clothes I brought with me and THEN I don't have enough room in my luggage to bring it all home. My car broke down again yesterday, Nik! I just paid it off like 2 months ago and now it's gonna cost me $300 to get a new ignition coil?? Whatever that is....but it sounds important....

I had a dream the other night, it was kinda funny actually, me and my mom were on the safari trip and it seemed like grandma was there too mom.... and every single animal came up to us.... and then we went to magic kingdom and we rode dumbo and as soon as we got off it, there was a lady asking me what my dream was, and i told her to stay the night in the castle and she said we could!!! so no matter what mom, we have to ride dumbo!!!!

Yeah were both pretty scared the planes going to crash, but im actually now planning a weekend trip to North Carolina to see my soon to be uber hot boyfriend... Jay..... he just got home from iraq and has offerd to buy my plane ticket to go down and see him. So i will be flying by myself which scares me even more. I dont want to have to sit next to some smelly guy who snores:rotfl:

I like it too! Yes, she did a very good job. The first thing I put in it were our MNSSHP tickets.

I swear this is just how life is, and it freakin sucks! I have a little money saved up for this trip, but this summer I have to get Robby's senior pictures taken. It is so never ending with kids! One of them always needs money for something. I told Jay last night I'm thinking of getting a part time job to go along with my full time job. Just a few hours a week. Enough for the extras. Our pump in our pool took a crap and neither of us has the money right now to replace it. It's supposed to get real warm starting tomorrow and our pool looks like a swamp!!

Do you find it is easier when 1 is away doing something with somone? If I only had 2 at a time it was fine, but DAMN! When all 3 were together, one of them had to team up with 1 of the others and gang up on the 3rd.

I SO TOTALLY know what you are talking about. Brandi was always with her grandma. It was really nice, but I think we lost a lot of the mother/daughter bond along the way. We are working on it now, but she's stuck in her ways (cough****spoiled****cough) and I'm stuck in mine.

I can't say much because my grandmother spoiled me soooooo much. When I was ten I got a sail boat for my birthday, at 8 I went to the bahamas with her and at 16 she talked my uncle into taking me for the summer to babysit in Hawaii for 9 weeks. at 13 I went to bermuda. For three years I had a junior membership to the yacht club and never paid for a thing except my gas for the small motor boat that we had. I had a charge account for all the food that I wanted and my grandfather paid it weekly.
I was so SPOILED

and i did move out for a summer to live with them it was just all about location, it was quicker for me to get to the club and all my friends lived around my grandparents. I was very jealous when my daughter was born because they paid a lot of attentions to her and not me. Then I grew up!

When I was ten I got a sail boat for my birthday, at 8 I went to the bahamas with her and at 16 she talked my uncle into taking me for the summer to babysit in Hawaii for 9 weeks. at 13 I went to bermuda. For three years I had a junior membership to the yacht club and never paid for a thing except my gas for the small motor boat that we had. I had a charge account for all the food that I wanted and my grandfather paid it weekly.
I was so SPOILED

and i did move out for a summer to live with them it was just all about location, it was quicker for me to get to the club and all my friends lived around my grandparents. I was very jealous when my daughter was born because they paid a lot of attentions to her and not me. Then I grew up!

what can I say I was spoiled but I have just now been able to say that Never would I have said it before. My grandparents looked at it this way if I was at the club than I wasn't on the streets. And Heck I had to eat and where does a 12 year old get money to eat! I waited on a a couple who had a disney card and we were talking about it, i think i want to get one, its a easy way to Earn some extra money for disney! i think im also going to get my roommate to do a yard sale with me, get rid of all my extra clothes that i dont wear, i cant even hang all my clothes up anymore, so i think thats a good idea!!! any other ideas? i also have been painting so im thinking about putting some paintings up on ebay.

I swear this is just how life is, and it freakin sucks! I have a little money saved up for this trip, but this summer I have to get Robby's senior pictures taken. It is so never ending with kids! One of them always needs money for something. I told Jay last night I'm thinking of getting a part time job to go along with my full time job. Just a few hours a week. Enough for the extras. Our pump in our pool took a crap and neither of us has the money right now to replace it. It's supposed to get real warm starting tomorrow and our pool looks like a swamp!!

Just got the filter yesterday. It is a very lovely shade of fungus now! We put a bunch of shock it in it and the water was just kind of fizzing green. Kind of weird! And Scary. But hopefully by this weekend we will be swimming.

Not soon enough :worried: I'm sitting here at work and I found myself with my eyes closed wishing that I would be at Epcot when I opened them. I guess I didn't wish hard enough cuz I'm still here :confused3

The food at CP is really good - don't get coffee though! It's that crappy Nescafe stuff and it tastes like dirt no matter how much sugar you put it in. Same coffee they serve everywhere in property... The restaurant itself is beautiful but it tends to feel cramped and crowded when the parade is going through but overall it's a very pleasant experience.

i have done lunch and breakfast here. I don't really remember lunch do to the fact that it was 7 years ago but we did christmas breakfast here and we loved it!


We've only done breakfast although I was considering maybe looking having dinner there one night on our next trip. Although the Plaza was so good we may just go back there to again....decisions decisions....

Not really anything to update today. I've started selling stuff on Ebay to help fund my disney spending. I made $25 this weekend. Not a bad start.

This weekend we are going to Cedar Point. Jay doesn't do the coasters, ANY coasters so we usually walk around all day. Matt is taking a friend because Robby will be at camp. He goes to a Fine Arts Camp for Orchestra. He went 2 summers ago. It was around 100 degrees the whole time he was there. I picked him up and he was so skinny. They have no air conditioning at all. Poor kids.

This weekend is also my anniversary. 5 whole years. Doesn't seem like a day over 50. Jay argued with me that it was on the 23rd. Guess who got a free dinner because she won the bet?? YEP, ME!

Fake Italian, Yummy. Just don't try the dinner of the month. That wasn't so good. I'm still tasting it today.

Hi Brandi, nice to meet you. I am Ty, been a frequent reader of your mothers antics...uh I mean TR's for sometime now. So you work at Bennigans? Awesome, they don;t have those out here, but I practicaly lived at Bennigans in El Paso, Tx, my senior year, it was the place to go after a night at the roller rink, those were the days.

O.K. first off I have to laugh (and I did) about the question of each getting your own Dumbo because of weight limits. Lo and I had a stomache ache laugh over this same question not even a week ago. We could only imagine Dumbo finally after a long struggle getting both our ample butts into the air just to have the steal beam bend on us. We decided if that happens and we are completely sideways, to just go with it, act like it's normal, even when there are sparks flying because Dumbos ears are scraping the ground.

Totally love that Bag you got for Mothers Day. Don't need it but really want it.

My way of saving spending money so far is every time I come home from shopping I dump all the change I got into a jar. I like this because one, I am the type of person who always likes to pay with exact change, I hold up lines while I dig in the bottom of my pocket book for 27 cents, I feel so free now just paying and getting back change, I feel like I am making money cause I get something back, it's a great mind trick I play on myself.

I always go to Disney (always as in twice now) and say to myself, I don't care about prices, if I like it I am getting it, then I talk myself out of it and kick myself for not getting it once I am home. I will get it all this year, I will!!!!

Looking forward to more of your planning, the time is gettin here, you are so close now, so close that i have pangs of jealousy. I'm really cute when i am jealous though. ;)

I had so much trouble getting in there and I was so uncomfortable the whole time because my leg was pinched between my boyfriend and the side of the car! OMG and don't even get me started on Space! Only one person to a seat and I just can't get in or out comfortably in one motion.

If you don't have them on you, you are less likely to buy small stuff you don't need, like candy bars and junk like that, and it's really motivational when you see a whole wad of singles in your Disney Fund!

I am really Po'd right now about this whole Pleasure Island revamping thing. Where do adults go for a little dancing and fun? They should have never opened it up to non ticket guests. It was for adults and should have stayed that way. Now they are putting in stores and restaurants. Boy, just what Disney needs. Why can't they leave some things that are non family oriented. They ruined the ride in Mexico to make it more for kids by putting Donald and gang in there. Now it's way off what it was supposed to be. A boat ride in Mexico. Now it's a cartoon.

So 122 more days to go, so far im not at a stressful point yet. My mom and i found a freebie thready and so far ive gotten some tide, lotion, shampoo, and deodorant. There nice cause there all travel size, and i plan on taking those on vacation instead.

160 saved up for money to spend. This week starts the 17 week of saving!! no more spending change, sending home 100 to mommy.This isnt going to be fun! but it sure will be fun when i go!!

I agree with my mom, who gives them the right to shut down pleasure island the year i get to go!!! I remember being a little girl, and my mom and signifacnt lover would leave to go at night, and i would be so mad cause i couldnt go, and i had to stay with my grandma!

Thanks Nik! Unfortunately, the condos we are looking at are here in CT. Lumar decided he doesn't want to leave his mom here by herself (she's in her early 60's) and I don't really want to leave the animal shelter I volunteer for. So we decided to suck it up and just deal with CT prices :sad2:

We found a nice little condo that's like 720 sq. ft with a little balcony/porch so my bunnies can go out into the sunshine! It's only one bathroom and only one bedroom but it's only $115k, it's only the two of us, and it's only a few blocks from where I live now so it's a good neighborhood. The price is steep considering what $115k would get me in Florida, but you do what you gotta do, right? I'll keep you guys updated! :thumbsup2

ETA: LMAO about us waiting for Lumar! That's the story of my life! He got called into work yesterday morning at the last minute...of course I thought he was off so I slept in a little bit and as I was walking out the door to come to my job, he suddenly gets a call from his job. OK...one of the agents just got back to me and told me that the condo association at this particular place doesn't allow rabbits :mad: I can have a cat, that claws the furniture/walls/carpets and has the potential to spray all over the place...but my litter box trained, CAGED rabbits are not allowed. I didn't have a chapstick :scared1: , no extra napkins (which of course we needed) and nothing to carry my wallet and cell phone in. It was a hot mess...

YES!! Plus it will kill time when waiting at the airport. I seriously want to buy a laptop, SOLELY for the purpose of bringing it to WDW. I recommend, however that you also bring a large flash memory drive, and back up your pics to that...don't rely on the computer JUST IN CASE!

Ok the only thing with bring in a back pack or any bag for that matter it has to undergo a bag check... If you bring one don't use one with a lot of pockets. I think ours had 5 zippers and OMG they had to check each one!

Hey check into sending a box down to the hotel with all your food items! That is what we did! I think it only cost me 15- 20 dollars to ship a HUGE box down. That beats $50. for and extra bag! Plus if you only send food down then you can throw out the box when you are all done and don't worry about shipping anything back.I heard that having water shipped from one of those internet places is good! Cheap too! I've always had a kitchen since we have always stayed at the fort wilderness cabins, but so we always just refilled the water bottles and stuck them in the fridge for the night.
As for the lap top I would if I had one! One you can watch movies on the flight (maybe not one of a plane crash don't want MOM to flip out on the plane) and you can download your pix and yes you can do you trip report as it happens. I really want one but for now I have to settle for just the desktop as I want an apple or mac air book. And the fact that we are buying a house and goine to disney within the coming year... I am thinking the MAC AIR BOOK is going to be last on my list for a while because you know disney will take a close second to my new house!

Then I got to looking for Earl of Sandwich to see if I could buy a gift card from them. I found out we have one right here in Michigan, not too far away in Ann Arbor.

I had a dream last night. Jay took us to the airport, but for some reason we got on a bus. This bus took us to the airport in North Carolina. I remember pissing the bus driver off, but can't remember why. We had to stay at a hotel until it was time for our plane to leave. It was dark and I was walking from the hotel to the aiport, all alone. I came across a small plane that had crashed. I kept walking until I heard a little boy yell "help". I went to him, he was crying. Poor little guy. I said is there anyone else, he pointed to his brother sitting in something, not sure what it was, but he was in shock. I took off with the little boy to go get some help for his brother, he was too big for me to carry.

Then I woke up!

Ok this is what you call pre DIsney Dreams I had these dreams for two maybe three weeks before we left.. I dreamt that I forgot kids at home, I dreamt that I forgot Zac's insulin I dreamt that the plane went Some where not Near Disney and all my hard work that I put into dinner ressie's and trip planning went out the window... I had my self so freaked out that I wasn't going to get there I actually cried when we got to MCO that is orlando airport since you don't fly to often...... You will love to fly after this is done. My mother in law NEVER Wanted to Fly she was petrified and guess what her sister dragged her on a plan I am thinking it looked something like trying to put a cat into a tub of water (had to give you a visual) and she LOVED it Wants to fly all the time now! Cute bag! I'm so jeaous! Don't worry, you won't need the parachute!

I never go anywhere without makeup either! I put it on in the morning before we leave, then it goes into my carry on bag. I've never had trouble getting through security but the only "liquid" I carry is my mascara.

Earlier we were discussing the back-pack debate.... With most rides, you can bring it on with you and just put it under your feet. If you go on Soarin', they make you leave it on the ground but it's right there next to you when you come down again. Honestly, we don't pack that much stuff in it - just sunscreen, our wallets, the camera, and wipes (just in case we run across a dirty table or our ice cream starts melting all over the place)...ooh and a Tide-To-Go Pen. This thing is like Jesus in a tube! It gets out practically anything. We're pretty big slobs so I don't go anywhere without one anymore. Yes having to go through bag check sucks, but honestly it's usually pretty quick, despite how long the line looks, and it's so worth it it have it. If we buy small stuff, or pick up bottles of water (or bring our resort mugs), our back-pack has little mesh pockets on the side to hold those for us in an easily accessible place.

Your dream was strange but I've had them too! I've dreamt that we just picked up and went to WDW, and as I'm standing in the middle of MK, I realize that I don't have any time off from work available, and I forgot to call out sick. :confused3 I even dreamt once that I had to fly home, call out, then fly back. Don't know, but that's what my brain told me....

Simmer down Lady! you will be just fine, it's safer to fly than drive, at least that is what statistics say. I love flying, I am not saying that because I love flying you will too, that reminds me of every Christmas my mom gives me a fruitcake, and I tell her "Ma, I hate fruitcake." and she says "Well, your father and I love it." It doesn't make a difference to me who loves it, I still hate it. SO maybe you will hate flying, but honest you will be ok.

You can bring your make up on the plane, anything liquid has to be less than 3 oz and in a plastic sandwich bag. Try not to sweat profusely, they get suspicious real easy. Keep your nervous laughter under control and watch the pitch of your voice. refrain from making comments like "I swear I don't have a bomb." even though you would probably say it to be helpful, they would probably throw you to the floor and have a guard dog perform a full body cavity search with his nose. These are just a few tips I have picked up along the way. I hope they come in handy for you.

Pop Century is the first drop off for magical express, at least it always was in the past, I don't know why they would change it now. And I know that some buses travel from park to park, I know I caught one from Epcot to HS at one time.

The T-Rex restaurant sounds like it's going to be great, that is one I am hoping to go to, if I ever get to go back to Disney, my car blew up, apparently if you drive it with no oil in it, it tends to mess up the whole inner workings. The husband blames me for this, but it has always been his job to keep the cars in check, when he decided I should be responsible for my own car, he should have told me right? because he knows mind reading is the one class I didn't take in college, I have to tell him this all the time when he is complaining that the cuccumbers got to big to make pickles and i should have picked them whil he was out of town, again had I taken mind reading I would have known that, so anywhooooo, I get my car tomorrow and hopfully a job next week, I really don't want to have to cancel Disney. I havent been on a vacation is so long.... should i bring more stuff??

I saw pictures of MK all prettied up for Halloween the other day, and it got me even more excited. They had pumpkins carved on every single building with like cut outs of like something about that building. Like for the firehouse, there was dalmatian spots and a fire truck. it was real cute. My friend that works down there went back down there again yesturday. Made me sad:(

I think im also gooing to cedarpoint at the end of this month with my grilfriend and her boyfriend, and Steve:love: who will also be driving me to the airport. Hes so nice and so Hot! haha

Alright well the puppy is snuggling with his dumbo and giving me the eye. I better take him for his walk!

I know, cause I'd be too afraid to jump even though the plane was crashing. Or my luck, I'd jump and the pilot would recover and I'd be stuck in a tree somewhere!!

I never go anywhere without makeup either! I put it on in the morning before we leave, then it goes into my carry on bag. I've never had trouble getting through security but the only "liquid" I carry is my mascara.

Earlier we were discussing the back-pack debate.... With most rides, you can bring it on with you and just put it under your feet. If you go on Soarin', they make you leave it on the ground but it's right there next to you when you come down again. Honestly, we don't pack that much stuff in it - just sunscreen, our wallets, the camera, and wipes (just in case we run across a dirty table or our ice cream starts melting all over the place)...ooh and a Tide-To-Go Pen. This thing is like Jesus in a tube! It gets out practically anything. We're pretty big slobs so I don't go anywhere without one anymore. Yes having to go through bag check sucks, but honestly it's usually pretty quick, despite how long the line looks, and it's so worth it it have it. If we buy small stuff, or pick up bottles of water (or bring our resort mugs), our back-pack has little mesh pockets on the side to hold those for us in an easily accessible place.
I think I will just have a little purse to carry. I'm defintely getting the tide pen.

Brandi is a little sloppy. Shhhhh don't tell her I said that. Here's hoping she can't read little stuff!!

Your dream was strange but I've had them too! I've dreamt that we just picked up and went to WDW, and as I'm standing in the middle of MK, I realize that I don't have any time off from work available, and I forgot to call out sick. :confused3 I even dreamt once that I had to fly home, call out, then fly back. Don't know, but that's what my brain told me....

Simmer down Lady! you will be just fine, it's safer to fly than drive, at least that is what statistics say. I love flying, I am not saying that because I love flying you will too, that reminds me of every Christmas my mom gives me a fruitcake, and I tell her "Ma, I hate fruitcake." and she says "Well, your father and I love it." It doesn't make a difference to me who loves it, I still hate it. SO maybe you will hate flying, but honest you will be ok.
I have heard that statistic. But really if you average the cars on the road to planes in the sky, there is quite a difference. Right?? I don't know, I'm just trying to come up with reasons to take a train. Jay was telling me the plane goes almost straight up when climbing.:scared1: :eek: !! I'm thinking this isn't going to the best thing ever!! And then there is the turbulence. How bad will I have to be before they will land the plane and kick me off or just plain shoot me? I thought about getting a Flying Virgin t-shirt, but I'm afraid that will draw attention. And what about crying? If I'm crying will they be suspicious of me?

You can bring your make up on the plane, anything liquid has to be less than 3 oz and in a plastic sandwich bag. Try not to sweat profusely, they get suspicious real easy. Keep your nervous laughter under control and watch the pitch of your voice. refrain from making comments like "I swear I don't have a bomb." even though you would probably say it to be helpful, they would probably throw you to the floor and have a guard dog perform a full body cavity search with his nose. These are just a few tips I have picked up along the way. I hope they come in handy for you.
I'm thinking I'm going to have the vaseline already on. :scared: I'm doomed! I laugh when I'm nervous.

Pop Century is the first drop off for magical express, at least it always was in the past, I don't know why they would change it now. And I know that some buses travel from park to park, I know I caught one from Epcot to HS at one time.
I was really hoping to rent a car. I like being in control. Let's hope it's still first. I'm going to be wanting my vacation to start before anyone else!! I'm going to turn up my nose to all those people going to non-value resorts cause we get off first.

The T-Rex restaurant sounds like it's going to be great, that is one I am hoping to go to, if I ever get to go back to Disney, my car blew up, apparently if you drive it with no oil in it, it tends to mess up the whole inner workings. The husband blames me for this, but it has always been his job to keep the cars in check, when he decided I should be responsible for my own car, he should have told me right? because he knows mind reading is the one class I didn't take in college, I have to tell him this all the time when he is complaining that the cuccumbers got to big to make pickles and i should have picked them whil he was out of town, again had I taken mind reading I would have known that, so anywhooooo, I get my car tomorrow and hopfully a job next week, I really don't want to have to cancel Disney. I hate priorities and I will just leave my ramblings right there, unless you don't want my ramblings there, I could put them somewhere else but you would have to tell me where you want them because...well, you already know...that whole mind reading thing, if you need or want my ramblings moved just PM me, no worries.

TOTALLY could not figure out how to open my hood. I felt like such a *******! He had to find it for me. The poor guy though. Matt has made my jeep into his locker and laundry room. Also, I was the only parent the whole freakin week that got searched!

Why does he keep going back there?? What kind of program is he in? I know. I can't wait to see it decorated. Our plane better be there on time. This will be the only day it will be decorated for Halloween. They say stuff comes down that night and the next day they will have x-mas dec. up. Apparently when the clock hit midnight Monday night/Tuesday morning My Cinderella decided it wasn't time to go home, she decided she was now 21 and was legal to partake in some achohol substances.

Poor kid when we landed in L.A. he was asleep and woke up and puked all over the place. Ummm DON"T DRINK!!! YEah I flew to Hawaii at age 16 ALL BY MYSELF, Hello that was half way around the world! AGAIN ALL BY MYSELF! AND I LIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT!!!

OMG Brandi, PLEASE DON'T OVERPACK!!! Seriously! Go back and read my TR from October 2007! I packed so much stuff that I did not need - I know that at least one of our suitcases was over the weight limit - it weighed in at like 90lbs or something lol I felt bad for the guy who had to lift that thing!

Seriously though, I used to bring one complete outfit for each day of the trip. I have now dropped down to only 2 pairs of pants/capris...MAYBE 3...and one pair of shorts to wear around the room (my legs currently do not get public air time because my thighs refuse to resemble Angelina Jolie's). And we usually go for 8 full days, plus arrival day and leaving day. I'm telling you, the Tide-To-Go Pen is AWESOME! If you spill a little something on your leg it will easily come off with the TTGP. No need to actually go and wash laundry unless of course you have a HUGE mishap (who wants to wash laundry on vacation?) and no need to scrap the whole pair for one little spot. I pack more t-shirts because it will be blatantly obvious in our pictures if I'm wearing the same shirts but no one will notice with pants. But I still only bring a few because I always end up buying shirts when we are there, no matter how many times I tell myself I won't. I also completely gave up on socks and sneakers. I hate wearing them and when we get down there, they sit in the hotel room for the whole week because I wear flip flops to the parks. My feet don't feel any better after walking around for 13 hours in sneakers as opposed to the flip flops so I don't bother anymore. PLUS, if it rains, my sneakers don't get soaked. Bare feet and rubber flip flops are quite easy to dry :thumbsup2 I ditched the hairdryer (hello, it's HUMID in Florida - straight hair doesn't last 5 seconds out the door). I highly recommend bringing lotion, neosporin, band-aids, and tweezers. I left those home in March thinking I wouldn't need them and I did. Also, bring a nail file. Trust me. You will need it. Especially if you wear flip flops. You're toes will need a good mini-pedicure after the 2nd day.

The flight was fairly smooth and uneventful…quiet even. There was a woman behind me who had never flown before though and she kept giving out little shrieks followed by “Oh my LORD…is that normal?! Are we supposed to do that?!” with any sort of a dip or shudder. As we got closer to Florida, and began our descent from the blue sky into the rain and clouds, the air got choppy and we had some bumpity turbulence…Teddy’s response was,

“COOL!!! It’s like a ROLLER COASTER!!!”

The first time flier was not as excited about this particular thrill ride.

She started praying…

Loudly.

The praying got louder as we were fixing to land…the plane was swaying a bit…more than normal.

So we landed to a chorus of

“Oh Lord SAVE ME!”

People were cracking up all around us.

I guess the praying worked though…because we landed safely.

Dear mother in response to your question this is how it works.... we arrive early at the detroit airport. Jay will be pulling all of our luggage, its OUR vacation and i just dont want to. we will check in, and see if they have any first class upgrades. we will then go through security. make our way to the waitintg area where i wull go a couple shots, and i will slide you a happy pill. at 8:20ish we will board the plan, we dont need to be fashionably late!!! thats how i plan the first have the rest is up to you!!! Once you actually do it, it will not be that bad! Just remember when you get to Orlando, you need to get on the little monorail and it will take you over to the other side of the airport. You will see some bathrooms on your left when you get there...just follow the crowd and they will take you in the right direction! You need to go DOWNSTAIRS to get to the DME counter. There are elevators that will take you down to the lower level (there's also escalators and stairs). When you get out of the elevator, turn left and go allllllllll the way down the hallway. I think the DME counter is the LAST one...and it will most likely be the only counter with a line. Go figure. :rolleyes:

Dear mother in response to your question this is how it works.... we arrive early at the detroit airport. Jay will be pulling all of our luggage, its OUR vacation and i just dont want to. we will check in, and see if they have any first class upgrades. we will then go through security. make our way to the waitintg area where i wull go a couple shots, and i will slide you a happy pill. at 8:20ish we will board the plan, we dont need to be fashionably late!!! thats how i plan the first have the rest is up to you!!! Nope, DME will deliver it whether you're there or not.

You will get a seperate Photo Pass Card for the Halloween party and it gives you a discount on prints if you purchase them that night. If you decide NOT to do that, you can combine both you regular PhotoPass and your MNSSHP Pass onto one CD.

The CD is extremely worth it if you have more than 6 pictures you want to buy. Each picture is about $15 - $20 (for 5 x 7's). I'm not sure if the price is the same, but it was $135 plus they give you a few "free" prints right then and there (FYI, the CD used to cost $100 with no "free prints" and now it's $135 and they give you prints so it sounds to me like they are in fact charging you for them, they just want to make it sound like they aren't).

But anyway, so when we went last year, I got the CD and got 2 or 3 prints "free" with Ariel's signature and stuff PLUS the MYW package gives you another free 5 x 7 so I think I got 4 for "free. Once you get the pics on CD, you won't be able to add the borders and the signatures and stuff like that. It will literally be just the picture but you can bring the CD to Walgreens or something and print out the pictures for 19 cents each or something as opposed to $15 each

You're stuff won't get messed up. I think that when they scan the tags, it automatically links to your reservation and any flight changes are automatically updated. You can call DME though to confirm....

Brandi you are going to make me cry! I can feel your anticipation and I am so jealous and sad that I am not going sometime soon. I am happy for you guys though because October is, by far, my most favorite time of year to be in WDW. You guys are going to have such a great time and MNSSHP is going to be a blast. If you are into the trick or treating, and meeting characters, I highly recommend skipping the rides and attractions. The lines will be short and tempting but if you want to meet a lot of rare characters (or characters in costume anyway) just save the rides for your full MK day, or wait until close to the end of the party. :thumbsup2

We fly from CMH (Columbus). Thankfully it's close and Southwest has a straight through flight. I am not a HUGE fan of flying so when I do I prefer the quickest route. When I took TP1 and her friends in July we flew United (free tickets via miles) and had to stop in IAD. Seriously, it's a 2hr flight!!!! They can't just take me there? It sucked, but it got me to WDW so whatever.

You may want to rethink putting all that stuff in your suitcase. If luggage gets lost, you won't have your make up and toothbrushes. THAT could be devastating.

Well he IS my travelling buddy (and my BF lol) ...and besides, i told him he couldn't go without me so it wouldn't be fair for me to go without him. Especially considering that we can't go again this year because of me. I went and got myself into all kinds of debt and we can't go anywhere until everything is paid off. By my calculations,I should be paid off in April 2009 so going to WDW in October 2009 should be no problem. Key term: SHOULD BE

It is 18 hours but I do really enjoy the drive. I love the scenery. Matt told me last night he wants to go to Florida next year, just him and I. I thought it was really sweet. He loves his mommy! I figured he'd say him me and one of his friends.

I am almost packed. Just the last minute things. Maybe a couple more sweatshirts. Have you seen the forcast?? Sounds like it's going to be pretty cool. Still warmer than Michigan, but I think maybe the tanning by the pool thing is out.

I took a Xanax last night. Brandi gave me one. I wanted to try it before we got to the airport. Didn't want something bad to happen there. Anyway, at first I was feeling a little goofy, well goofier than normal. I was giggling and singing. Then it just kind of mellowed out. So I tried to think about the airplane, to see if I was still worried.

My thought is whatever happens, happens. It is beyond my control. If the good lord sees fit that it's my time, than I guess it's my time. Brandi said she bought me a Where's Waldo book to take my mind off the flight:confused3 ! I will have my MP3 player and my nicotine gum. It's all good!

Nikki you will love it! I guess we are totally opposite because I would dread driving! It's a 22 hour trip for us and with four kids in the car and my mother, I would bail out probably in NJ! It won't happen. For our last trip the travel agent was trying to save us money and had us for a 3 hour lay over and I was like ARE YOU NUTS! A lay over with KIDS! NOT HAPPENING! I want the closest thing to a direct flight that I can get! So we had a minimal lay over like just enough time to get from one flight to another! Those are my kinda lay overs!

ahh i finshed packing everything but my personal item. I sent down 29 pounds of drinks and bars. I think i did everything im supposed to. now i just have to wait approximately less than 72 hours.

It is 18 hours but I do really enjoy the drive. I love the scenery. Matt told me last night he wants to go to Florida next year, just him and I. I thought it was really sweet. He loves his mommy! I figured he'd say him me and one of his friends.

I took a Xanax last night. Brandi gave me one. I wanted to try it before we got to the airport. Didn't want something bad to happen there. Anyway, at first I was feeling a little goofy, well goofier than normal. I was giggling and singing. Then it just kind of mellowed out. Why Hello there, thanks to those who followed our PTR, for those that are joining us, hop on board. We just got back Saturday, November 8. It was a 8 day trip with just me and my mom.

This would be my mom. she can tell you her age if she wants, she loves Disney. She normally goes with my 2 younger brothers and my step dad. So a girls only trip is totally different from what shes used to.

My vacation started Thursday I spent the entire day getting around. I gave myself a pedicure and a manicure. Packed my disney loving dogs stuff, and i was off to my moms. When me and my girlfriend arrived. My DB Robby was there. So we went to my moms work and drew mickeys and random things on her Jeep, to get her pumped for the upcoming week! After a long night of making sure we had everything together, it was bed time. We had a early flight.

We woke up at 3:30a.m!!!! said our goodbyes to Minkiss(my disney dog) and Robby, and off we went to Detroit's airport. Did I tell you my moms completely freaked out about flying? It was my moms first flying experience. Which made the 2 hour trip to the airport a long long trip. All I heard was... "If I make it there", "Plane is going to crash".

As soon as we got to the airport, we checked our bags, Mine was 36 pounds, hers was 38. I WIN!!!:woohoo: We said our goodbyes to Moms DH, Jay, and DS Matt. She cried...Did i also forget to tell you us girls are VERY emotional. We cry just at about everything. After goodbyes we made our way threw security. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. and now it was on to waiting for our plane to take off. I played some games on the computer, and mom well just kept watching planes take off, which made her freak out some more.... So I gave her, her new favorite thing, a Zanex. which made her loopy. On the plane we sat next to a very nice gentleman. Who talked her threw everything. As soon as we got in the air she was sleeping. Landing was rough, i don't like it so much.

We decided to save the 300 dollars or so and just use the magical express, which was kind of nice, we didnt have to search for bags, or find the car place, it was just sign in and go. Here's a couple pictures of the ME

We got dropped off at pop. We went to check in and our room was ready!!!!:worship: So we dropped off our carry-ons and picked up our fridge... well had someone bring us the fridge. Touched our faces up, and it was off to MK for MNSSHP! haha or so we thought. First mom left our tickets in the room, then i think i left my camera. Then when we had everything, they were cleaning the ground on the floor above us, and well i wasn't paying attention, so i got wet!! So back to the room to dry off... Now we could leave...

The party was so much fun!! We spent a while just walking around, looking at everything. Rode the haunted mansion, took tons of pictures. Then we were walking the path where Cinderellas Fountain is, a this couple was hugging and it caught my eye so we were creepers and stopped to watch. Then he got down on one knee and purposed!! it was so romantic, it gave me goose bumps and guess who cried. hahah. We had really good seats of the parade. Which was by far the second best one after spectra magic. There were these guys who where singing and they came up to me and mom and sang, their voices were amazing. The Fireworks were real cool too!! The way they lit up the castle was soo beautiful! The park was Jammed pack that night. They sold the party out, but last minute, they started re-selling them! Neither of us are big on waiting in lines, so last minute we decided to go around and trick or treat. Well we might of stopped at 4 spots and our bags were FULL! It was the last party so they were giving it all away. And we were okay with it.:rotfl2: It was a good way to start our vacation. I would go again, just maybe not on Halloween.

Okay, I have to make this short as no one wanted to keep up my work while I was gone so I'm cramming today!

I'd like to cram something but I wouldn't have a job!!

First of all Brandi failed to mention when she came home for the night, the bestest mommy in the world made her Meatloaf. Her favorite. I really really hate meatloaf!

I walked in the door and her dog was barking at me like he owned the joint. So what did I do? I barked back! I'm pretty sure I was louder too.

On a barking scale.

Brandi slept in Matt's room, his room is right over mine. Poor kid, but that's another story. I had to go up around 11:30 to make them go to bed. I kept getting woke up to BANG, BOOM, THUD!

Guess who they blamed it on?

The dog!

Then someone told me she had set her alarm to get up at 4:00 a.m.

NOT!

4:15 I was waking her up. Kids!

It really didn't seem to take us long to get to the airport. Unfortunately. The long dreaded plane ride was here. I really had myself psyched up pretty bad. My tummy was hurting. We did all the necessary security stuff and made our way to our gate.

Oh, the reason her bag was lighter is because she threw her 10lb bag of trail mix into mine. So really I won.

It was about 45 minutes before the flight, I took my new best friend. My purple haze. Actually it was little....blue......different!

THEN, decided to find the bar so I could have one last smoke before I crashed!!

As I'm walking to find it, I think ooooh, I hope I can find my way back while stoned. I was a little concerned, not enough not to go though. I was on vacation, it was time to be adventurous.

Right?

Well, I did make it back to the gate. And time was getting closer.

The plane. :scared:

As soon as my butt hit the seat, the seatbelt was on. Don't have to tell me. I don't know why I felt safer with it on. I mean if we were going to crash, a seatbelt certainly wasn't going to save my life. But it did make me feel better.

I had a very nice (looking) man sit down next to me as I had prearranged for Brandi to have the window seat. :flower3: I needed her to watch out the window and let me know if, oh I don't know, maybe the wing fell off???

Anyway, the nice man sits down and I proceed to warn him this is my first plane ride and I was scared to death. He was totally okay with it and very sweet about it. He said his wife (darn it) didn't like flying either, and proceded to grab my hand.

I was startled at first, but he then explained that that is what his wife does when they take off.

Then these drunk people (it's only 8:00 am) got on and sat down. The stewardess makes them go with her and they come back with security. He sat next to them the whole flight. They must have been worried they would be idiots or maybe they had been idiots and I just didn't notice.

The whole flight was/is kind of a blur to me. I know I slept for a while. That was nice. Brandi took a picture of me and can't find it. It looked like I had my head on the guys shoulder.

Landing was alright for what I remember???

ME wasn't very exciting. I miss driving under the Welcome sign and taking that first picture.

It was so nice to have our room ready so we could freshen up. We knew it was going to be a long night.

We had Pizza and Nachos from the Pop food court (pictures brandi??).

I just loved the Halloween party. At first we didn't get into the whole candy thing, but after a while it became a mission. My goodness did we end up with a lot of candy! The parade was the best! My favorite thing from the whole party.

These guys were absolutely scary. They scraped the ground with their shovels. And they weren't nice about it.

Then came the cowboys with their lassos. Brandi wanted to take one home as a souvenier. She likes her some cowboy!

We had a really good time. It was a little crowded but I expected it since it was Halloween night. The fireworks were just gorgeous.

We didn't stay until closing. We were pretty beat. It had been a long day. I'd definitely go back for the party though! It was worth the extra money. People really got into it by dressing up. It seemed like everyone was. But us! There were some really creative costumes. Brandi, where is that one of you with those 2 guys??

Safari time.... Mom didnt bring her mega zoom lens, so im going to skip these pictures till the next AK day... I love this ride. Zoos are my favorite things to do during the summer, i spend like 20 dollars spending the Giraffes every time i go. Today wasn't a good outcome. Everything was so far away.

We decided to go get our Everest fast-passes, we had a hour to kill. So we walked around, people watched. And arrived to the fast pass a minute early. I swear we stood there for 3 mins. Finally

ehh i would suggest going on Halloween. It was soooo crowded!! But worth it.. no promblem on the pics we have like 800 more to go ;)

First thing on the agenda for the morning was FIND A HAIRBRUSH!! 2 girls with 10 pairs of shoes and no freaking hairbrush! Brandi went on a mission to find one. She came back with a little one (used for dolls I think) and Breakfast!!

It was a breakfast wrap with a side of potatoes, and an extra side of potatoes. She cut the wrap in half and we shared. It was definitely enough for the both of us. I could have swore she took a pic:confused3 !

I got up at 6:00 so we were ready quite early. I was up at 6:00 all week. Funny when I'm home I sleep in, not here though. We only had 8 days for pete's sake.

I just looked at the pics Brandi posted and WOW! Was I sporting the cleavage or what??? A little lower and I think we could have had an Xrated report.

Brandi did enjoy her cocktail. She made me taste every one of them. Ewwwwwww! I'm a beer girl.

We didn't really stay long at AK this day. I don't know why I guess we were just anxious to get a taste of it all right away.

She was super funny on Everest though. She is a screamer.

There were a lot of animals out on the Safari this day. I was kind of bummed I didn't bring my zoom. The drivers seemed to slow down for pics this time. Last time I was there everytime I'd go to take a picture, he'd purposely hit a pothole or speed off causing the g-force to smash the camera in my face. I know it was on purpose!!

So after getting lost trying to find the bus we deiced we weren't tired yet, so mom wanted to take me to the Boardwalk. It was sooo PRETTY!
Mom went to the espn store and bought a hat for 4.99!!! :woohoo: haha we walked up and down just enjoying the atmosphere, then we wanted to put our park hopper pass to use. On to Epcot! We hopped on the boat. The captain was so funny, he didnt even look old enough to drive a car though!
HOLY COW! was Epcot ever so busy!! All mom wanted was a napolean and the line was like an hour long! so we just kinda paced ourselves to the front of the park. Mom wanted to do her naughty habit, and i found

Somehow mom would wake up every morning at 6!!! yeah thats right 6!!! she would go do her naughty habit then shower. After her shower I would be dumb and get up and shower and then we would always be around by 7:30!!! Today we split the breakfast burrito again. MORE than enough for 2 people i was always full at the end of it. But for some reason we were always to hungry or it was to early and we would forget to take the picture. (sorry we stink at food porn)

We're at HollyWood Studios today. We got there before rope drop and we were about the 10th person in the line to actually get into the park.....waiting....waiting.....waiting.... did i forget to mention, Me and mom yeah were impatient!

ahh finally we got in the gate, oh and then what started to happen.... RAIN! luckily for me my kicking cool mom bought me a umbrella for my birthday!!:hug: so after a while of waiting for the rope drop, we decided to go in and out of shops for giggles. I was in shock with how fast they decorated it for Christmas!

So we went over to Rockin Roll, I loved this ride. The wait wasnt long so we went ahead and road it. I LOVE THIS RIDE. We had such a fun time on this coaster. It went something like this. I put my oversized purse in the purse holder thing, and remember im :scared1: of rollar coaster so, im screaming, laughing, trying to sit up to make sure my purse doesn't fall out trying to look at the signs to enjoy the ride. Yeah it was a hot mess! But the funniest part of the day.

Anther early morning, we both got up got around, did our routine. Today was a lazy day, for me, i wore the baseball cap that I purchased the day before.
We decided to eat something different for breakfast this morning, and i actually took a picture of it!!

TIME FOR A KARMA STORY!!
Then you know while we are getting in line, THE RIGHT WAY, this lady thought she was to good to go through the little cues, and walks around and gets in line right in front of us. Thanks. So as we arrive, and get off the bus she lights up a cigarette. And bolts for the gate. Me and mom took our time, we werent getting in, the gate was still closed. Then we pass the same lady again. This time she was standing around a trash can with her husband holding her purse and she had a wet cloth trying to remove the coffee stain off her shirt.... Follow the rules please :)

We now bring you back to our Trip Report...
So we finally get through the gate, and make our way up to the Rope, and we map out our plan, i was to go to Sorin get our fast passes and then meet mom at Nemo,since i can run through the lines of people faster :) so Rope drops im behind a uber fast dad, some how we beat everyone and i make it to Sorin with a 5 min wait!!! But i didn't want to ride it with mom, so i just got our Fast pass. The dad that i followed gave me a high 5 and told me good job on keeping up. ha ha this is me getting ready to go!

So on over to Nemo.When i told mom about haw fast i was, she told me i should of rode it. I really didn't think about it then, but i should of :(. Nemo was okay. I wasn't a big fan on the ride itself but I LOVE the aquariums afterwords. I really wanted to swim with Dolphins while i was down there, maybe next time :) here's some pictures from the Nemo.... My favorite thing ever. I really think though that instead of only doing California, they should do all the countries at Epcot, and end at Walt Disney World. But it is an amazing thing to experience.

Back to the hotel for some pool time it was a nice day!! I had a poolside lemonade, and then decided to go to the kiddy pool cause no one was over there. Which was a phenomenal idea, you could lay in the water and still get a tan! NICE!!! Im a fair skinned being so I went in early and got around.

it was a good time!! I do a thing called Karma points, at the end of the month if im up to a certain amount i reward myself. its a nice little thing.

So we woke up early and got around for our breakfast with Pooh and gang at the Crystal Palace. Our reservation time was for 9:05 and we were running early, as usual so we thought we were okay. We got in line for the MK bus....

Time passed and passed and passed, the line got full full full. Then the bus finally came I think it was like 8:55. everyone hopped on, the buss was full and we saw this little girl, she had a disorder, and no one would get up so she could sit down, so i let her have my seat and she sat next to mom. She was soo happy she had a little gun from Pirates, and she kept shooting us, and shaking our hands and saying hi. And this little girl was just so happy it made everyone happy. She really did, she spread her disney magic all over us.
So we arrived at MK at like 9:04 but we stoped on out way back to take a couple pictures

Story time.. For those of you who didn't read our trip report, my grandma passed away with cancer 3 years ago. Her favorite was Eeyore, she loved him.

So Eeyore come walking around hes a table away and my mom looks at me and she said you know what you should do. And i read her mind, and instantly started crying, and then i had her crying, so i tried to control myself. Hugging Eeyore right then and there was like hugging a piece of my grandma, it was a little bit of Disney magic. He was so excited to see that he was on my shirt :) So this year for x-mas this picture will be found wrapped up laying next to her :)

WOW! I am WAAAAAAAAAY behind on this report huh? Brandi, you missed a lot of pictures along the way. I have a Canon Rebel XTI. I can't remember who asked. It's my baby. Kind of a heavy baby though.

I have to agree with Brandi. Hollywood Studios is my very least favorite park. RNR is awesome though. This park needs something, don't know what, but something.

So the break to Epcot was nice. The World Showcase is my absolute favorite.

These guys were a little......ummmmmm........different. They had Brandi get in the picture with them and then told us to follow them. They then joined in with the rest of the group.

We just kind of stood there for a few minutes. We didn't know if we were supposed to hang out or what. So we backed away SLOOOOOWLY. Step by step, until we were out of their sight.

Then back to HS. I have to kind of wing through this since Brandi is so far ahead. Hopefully no one gets too confused.

Brandi had been checking out some guy from across the room (she told me after the fact). She decided to move a little closer to him. She discovered he wasn't a real boy!! Hee Hee!! So she had me take a picture of her new love. Silly girl.

I loved the way this picute turned out.

Then of course the next day was Epcot. Brandi was stellar at getting the Soarin fastpass. You would have never known she was a newbie. When she told me she could have rode with a 5 minute wait I was upset she didn't. Would not have upset me in the least little bit. She deserved to.

While we waited, we went to Nemo and the Living Seas. Here's one of Brandi swimming with the fish.
