I don't know if that information was what you were waiting for, but I thought I'd post it in case it was.

OK...it's just after 3 am here in mass. and yes I'm up checking the dc club for the new information.

Maybe it's me because it's early, but I don't see much that will help me. My trip is in August and I'm already getting allstar sports for 69 dollars a day for 8 days. I was hoping for a new code to reduce the price, but I guess I'll be happy with what I've got.

I'm a bit bummed - I was hoping for room only discounts better than the original DC discounts for August. Oh well, I'll just keep watching!

this sure doesn't help me much - I am going in August, and will be changing hotels - 4 nights BC, 2 nights GF - I was hoping for room only pricing as well. Hopefully Disney will release some new codes for this soon.

All that anticipation and nothing that will help me either.

Well, I have been waiting a week for this and here is what I was quoted.

For 4nights/5days at the AKL from Aug 12th through Aug 16th

$1,323.82 for Pool View and $1,390.46 for Savannah View.

These prices include tax and UPH for the 5days. I asked if the last day of the UPH could be removed and he said no. Another note is that he was not aware that a new Disney Club code became active today.

We already have the Dolphin booked at a rate of $162.50 plus tax =$180.38 plus $8 resort fee = $188.38 * 4 = $753.50 for the room. My husband plans on using the gym every morning.

Then we will not be going into the parks on the fifth day so we are planning on buying 4 day park hoppers for $203.52 * 2 = $407.04

So the $753.50 plus the $407.04 = $1,160.54

So we are going to stay at the Dolphin. It will be a new resort for us but also in the Epcot area which we do love. Considering we did not think that we were going to be able to go to WDW in 2002 I am happy just to be able to be going for the 5 days.

Good luck to my fellow Disney Club members.

This deal doesn't help me either. I called and they told me that being I have an ap this new deal would only save me $50.00 and they don't have the availability. I would have to make new ressies, check out and check in again. I do hope it saves others some money. I got the Contemporary Tower for $252.00 including tax, so I'm real happy with that. Just wished ap's were more of a discount. Can't wait to go.

The new package prices are really good. I check the beach club for a 7 night reservation, and it was $873 cheaper than booking it on the web page (I know that booking on the web page is way more than it should be).

This new packages prices figure in room rates close to an AP discount and take 5% off the UPH passes. It's a pretty good deal for people who have no way of getting a room discount right now.

Not a better deal for me, either, since this new code ends 8/24 (day before value season begins). I checked for 8/18 arrival, 6 nights, AKL savannah, 1 adult/1 junior I was quoted 1981.22 - after deducting UPH price for each (315. DC) - that left the room rate at about 225.00 - this package did not include any flex feature or other extras. My Resort Magic package starting 8/25(value season) is still over $200 less than that and includes a flex feature that we would have done anyway and a pin for each of us - looks like I'll stick with value season. I usually do better without a package, but once in a while you can get a package with a code that's cheaper, so I feel it's always worth the time to call and check!

Bummed! This doesn't help me out either. I already have my passes since the ticket price increase of 3/19. So I'll stick with the rates I have for AKL in August. Still hoping for room only code:(

Man, these discounts totally skip the time when we are going. We'll be there Sept1-8 and these skip the month of Sept all together. THis seems like a bad sign. What are the chances of discounts being offered for September?

denman007
04-01-2002, 08:18 AM
These were summer discounts. There will probably be fall discounts as well which I expect to be better. Summer is peak so the discounts won't be as deep.

I think we'll see better discounts for the fall. Of course, this all depends on supply and demand.

Hi J&Z's Dad,

I believe there is the Fall Fantasy package going on during September. Go to Mousesavers.com. I am not sure of the details.

Tiffany-
Thank you for the info. I think we're going to try to resort hop on this trip, so I'm not sure if the Fall Fantasy Package would work out for us. I'll check it out, though.

Hi,

The code for the room only was posted over on the AOL Boards. I just called and was quoted over $950 for the room plus trip insurance. I figured trip insurance was not $200 so I did not bother asking for the price without the insurance. I guess we are going to be keep our $162.50 plus tax AAA rate at the Dolphin.

I think we cannot post code here so I won't. I am leaving in a couple of hours for a two day trip to Foxwoods so I will not be posting for a couple of days.

Now that they post codes on this board I think it's okay to post them. If not can you PM me with it?

Alright! Just saved $135.00 for the week. Had a ressie for 4 nights at the WL with woods view and 2 nights savanna view at the AKL for the week if 8/18 to 8/24. The new DC code for room only saved me $135.00. :D :D

It sounds like the DC rate will save some folks money but not everyone. Have any of you folks considered sending a letter or an e-mail to the Disney Club voicing your hopes for better pricing for their resort-only or package deals? You could point out your current vacation plans, that is, what you have booked right now (especially if you are staying at a non-Disney resort) and what it is costing you. You could also point out the issues with resort hopping and how that effects the park pass situation with the DC rate. You could tell them the weaknesses of their new member offer and how you think they could improve it. I think they would appreciate the feedback. And I think your fellow Dis’ers would appreciate it, too, since you never know when Disney is listening and may implement something that will have a positive effect for more of their loyal customers. Anyhow, just a thought.

Can someone PM me with the room-only DC codes? Are these for the same dates as the DC packages announced today (6/23-8/24)? Also, if Mary and AOL have different codes, I'd like to know both of them, please. We are DC members, but a package is no good since we only need 4 day hoppers for our 6 night stay.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
BTW, do you think the room-only codes for summer are as good as the AP rate for mods in the value season (begins 8/25)? I doubt it, but just wondering.

schwaa
04-01-2002, 03:44 PM
the room only code rate for a moderate is $104 and change with tax. It's a good rate.

BlueFairy
04-01-2002, 04:11 PM
If $104 per night (tax included) is correct, then that's about the same as that $94/night rate people got for earlier in the summer. This would be similar to the AP rate in value season, right? That's pretty good! I need to get that code! I found one at mousesavers.com that is room-only for a Basic package of 3 nights or more. Includes mini-golf passes. Is this the one which is $104/night at mods?
Thanks!

Yes, Bluefairy, that's the code.

I was on the phone with Disney this afternoon because I wanted to ask them to price one of the vacation packages for me with the new DC code. I was told that the new DC code was not applicable to any of the vacation packages (it was only applicable to a room & resort pass type of package). I was very disappointed to hear that.
