Best Buy currently has elements/premiere package on sale for for $119.00.

what type of movie are you planning to create? Like home movies or something else?

I want to create slideshows of my photos then create a DVD that will play like a regular DVD that can play on a TV (titles, menus and such)

I got ProShow Gold. It works great. You have to be careful some of the programs limit you to 100 photos to put int the slide hsoe. Well for the Disney cruise that was no were near enough. Pro Show Gold lets you add a tone of pic, music and I heard you can even mix movies with the stills.

ya that 100 photo limit is very annoying.

Thanks for the heads up on that one, I had never heard of it before.
Price seems good and has alot features that I was looking for like panning through a pic :thumbsup2

I bought that combo from Amazon and there's a $30 rebate for that combination from Adobe.

ProShow is really good for making slide shows. Here is a short example of some of the effects it can do.

These are of the same 49 second piece of a show, the exe is much higher quality but PCs with slower video cards may have trouble with that version.
