I just decided to book a qiuck trip with my girls before school starts and was hoping to get an AP room discount or GP room discount for some time in the begining of august. I'm not picky on our dates but school starts the 20th by us so I would like to be back before that.

Do you mind me asking what airline you are flying? We would love to get rates like that out of Rochester. Don't really feel like driving 5 hours to Pit or PHL.

All flights are on Air Tran, except our daughters flying home on the Aug 29 @ $114. I booked the flights back in mid April.

I use travel search sites, like Expedia, etc., to scope out lower airfares, but then I always check directly with the airline for better deals. Our dates are usually flexible, so when flying Air Tran, I go into their site and click on, "flexible dates" and search "2 days to either side" of the date I put in.

We had been watching the prices for a few weeks, and the lowest I could find for some of the dates we wanted was $79, which we would have been happy with. The very morning we booked, they dropped the prices on 2 of the flights we needed. :yay: A couple of days after we booked, I checked, and the prices went back up.

I figure if we find round trip airfare for about $200 each, (normally fly in Feb. or April) it's a good deal. We are very pleased with our airfare for this trip.

For our family of 7, (5 kids, but the oldest can't make this trip) finding good airfare makes a big difference in cost.

Going Aug. 6-12 and waiting for a code better than the AAA code I got (POFQ for $134/nite). Trying to decide if an annual pass would be better for DH and I who will be returning May 09 for our 5th wedding anniversary!

Add me to the list of those waiting for the AP codes. I'm currently booked at POFQ August 8 and 9, then we move to AKV on the 10th for a week using our DVC points, then we'll be going on a 4 day cruise. I'm hoping to get an AP discount for August 8th and 9th, hopefully we'll be able to upgrade to WL.

ETA: My prediction is that AP rates will come out June 18th, I'm crossing my fingers that they might come out on June 11th. The last set of AP rates came out earlier than last years so maybe ours will too :)

From your room call ext 8844 code is CFC and ask about booking a bounceback rate for August 10th through the 18th.Then just book a room only for the 8th and 9th. We just got back 3 wks ago and even though we didn't see the offer in our room I was able to book a 2 bounceback vacactions at rates compareable to AP rates.

I need a room for 8/15 - 8/18 and am waiting for a code. How does this work? If I book a mod and no codes come out, can I downgrade to a value w/out penalty? If an AP discount comes out, I may buy an AP since I will be returning in Feb. If you book a room, can you call to add the code at a later date (i.e. AP or AAA)? Is it worth signing up for AAA?

I am in Central IL as well. No flights under $99/one way..... killin' me...

We always fly out of BMI(bloomington) or MLI(moline) and have never been able to book nonstop for anything under 99$ in the last few yrs. Sometimes I have 69$ but those days never work out for us. With the way gas prices are if you find a rate of 99$ I would jump on it IMHO. We have August 6th till the 15th booked for MLI for 99 each way plus tax through airtran.

About the AP/AAA code if you book a room only not a package you can change your rate with a code if its before 5 days till check in without a penalty. If you book a package with tickets its 45 days prior to arrival date.
If the AP rates are out before june 1st you should be fine changing with codes. I'm thinking rate will come out this wk or next but with disney anything can happen.Did you book anything yet?

I always fly out of Moline, we must live pretty close! I live in Galesburg.

I just checked my flights for Aug. & needless to say I am a little bummed. Our non-stop flights have been dropped & now we have been put on flights that layover in Atlanta. This is not what I want :furious: So now I will probably be adding days so I can switch my flights to day that have non-stop available.

I will be calling tomorrow, wish me luck!

good luck...but keep in mind even if you switch days to get non-stop flights again, there's unfortunately a good chance those could also get changed before your flight...I saw a news story the other day on our local news that they were talking about all the bad changes airlines were making, and canceling non-stop flights was one of the things that made the list.

I just do not have good luck with layovers in Atlanta, I have had to spend the night there twice now & really do not want to deal with that while my boys are with me. But if they do away with non-stop flights, I will just have to go with what I can. We are still going to Disney :thumbsup2

What a small world my flight yesterday got switched from a non stop flight. What flights were you on? We were on flight 392 on the 6th that was suppose to leave on Wed afternoon and our return flight was friday the 15th on a non stop. I am also calling today to switch to a different flight. Were staying at the All star sports so far we have a bounceback rate booked for the 10th through the 16th. I am waiting for the AP rates to come out before we book the first half of our trip. We just got back a month ago and were also returning with the whole family in December so this was going to be a budget trip:lmao:. I just called to see about getting the all star sports for the beginning of our tri(have a bounce back for the end) and all they had was a perfered room at rack rate of 104 with tax. They had no openings at PC/movies or music. I was hoping to get an AP rate for those dates. Why would those resorts be filled up that wk? She said they may not open AP rates till mid/end of july like they did in May. Now my budget trip is really out the window:faint:

I'm also going in August under AAA room rate and hoping for PIN. I'm looking into ordering the Park passes (Hopper/Water Parks) and have a question about them if anyone might be able to answer. If I get them now and later a "free water parks or hopper" deal comes out, do I get a refund of the difference and how? Thanks for any help.

They have never offered the water park upgrade in the summer but if they did you would be able to apply it to your already made ressie.

Never a dumb question!!

AP is an Annual Passholder rate :)

Sometimes Disney releases discounted rates for Annual Passholders - for several yrs these were excellent rates (on average about 30 to 35% discount), but the last couple of yrs have not always been quite as good. Never-the-less, a savings is a savings!

Last yr AP rates were released last yr on June 20th 2007 which was on a Wednesday. Thats why I was thinking/hoping/praying that tomorrow was going to be the day. I'm just making guesses based on last yr. If anyone who wants to know what was released last yr:
From 6/20/07 - THESE ARE EXPIRED
Annual Passholder rates for dates of Aug.5-Sept.29,2007

Sample rates:
*$64 per night value resorts*
$94 per night moderate resorts
$249 per night Deluxe (Polynesian)

This is what scares me:scared1:

The past round of AP rates didn't come out till: May 7th for
May 26 – Aug 2, 2008
So if you had a trip planned at the end of May/first wk in June you only had 3 wks before your trip. So since most of our trip are the first few wk of AP rate dates we may not get any offers till mid July:scared1:

Does this make sense:confused3

I was only able to get one of my 2 nights club level at AKL on the AP rate. Not sure if it's worth buying a pass just for the $34.60 savings over the AAA rate.

I posted the above a little bit ago, but now that I've digested dates/rates/etc. (and am more awake, lol) here's more info on what I found:

I was looking to convert my existing Club Level AKL ressie for 8/8 & 8/9 to AP rate. I had one night rack rate $335+tax and one night at AAA $284.75+tax. I was only able to convert the AAA night to AP rate $254+tax = $285.75w/tax (roughly a 25% discount off rack vs 15% AAA discount).

I had also checked BC for 8/5 and was offered standard view $244 (274.50w/tax) or lagoon view Club Level for $500something.

Then checked 8/5 for Pop (no AP rates avail.) and ASMu for $72.32w/tax.

LovetheBuzz - I guess I'll see you AKL CL on the 8th & 9th, yes? :thumbsup2

very strange..... the AP rate is $1.00 more pre night for my Pop preferred room than AAA was!! So obviously I kept my existing rate with CAA... I thought I was getting a good deal, I've called twice and both agents were surprised as well that CAA (AAA) was cheaper than the AP rate!

Its usually a few days after I try to see what I can find from last yrs. When they do release them it may be slim pickings as most of the rooms are already filled unless for some magical reason they open more up.

DH arrured me for our next trip in Nov/Dec we can stay at a mod/deluxe for our entire stay.
