View Full Version : FW Pool rehab updates, maybe
shocker

Today I called reservations to make some modifications to our Aug ressies. The CM told me that the pool was being updated to "resemble a deluxe resort and would have a theme" i.e. slides and such. I pressed him for more info on dates for starting and completing then his computer started "running slowly" and he said construction issues shouldn't bother us for our stay. Still don't know if that means completed by our stay or not even started by our stay :confused3

That would make sense, Donnie. But who said anything about "sense"? I mean, heck...look at the Fla DOT... they do ALL their major construction in the winter, when the roads are the most clogged with snowbirds & tourists!!

During our short stay in April, DH asked a retired person who works for them who happened to be with (or overseeing) the crew working on the comfort station some questions about the renovations. This man said that it would take all of 5 years to get everything done and as far as the pool goes that it has been leaking for some time and that they were not sure what was happening with it other than the fact that it needed replacing. He mentioned that the pool was in an area too low so it needed to be in another area so I don't know if it was his own idea...can't see it situated anywhere else. But they know it needs replacing but the timeline was not determined.

At least one of the more 'official' type of news releases about the FW pool renovation has mentioned that the pool won't be as deep on the deep end when finished. That would seem to indicate a new pool to me. Elevation could be raised then too....:confused3

Considering the fact that the CBR pool renovetions will take over 10 months, I would assume the sme time frame for FW.
