Top 5 Characters:

Mickey
Winnie the Pooh
Belle
Pluto
Ariel

Not sure if the characters needed to be ones you can see in the park or not. Might change the last two if they didn't need to be ones you can see at WDW.

If you had all the money in the world, what would be your ideal Disney vacation?

WOW ! That's a tough one! I would start at the cheapest Value Resort...begin my trip there....and work through EVERY RESORT until I had stayed at each one and tried restaurants/pools/experiences (like piano bar guy at Port Orleans) at each one. I would end my trip of course at Grand Floridian.

I would mix in visits to the parks between Resort/Pool days and (again) try every restaurant and tour in every park.

Since money is 'no object' ...I'd invite each of you to join me... LOL!

Then I would run for President (and since I brought you to WDW you would vote for me) and win...then I would work on the "World Peace" project and make sure no one ever went hungry.

Okay - I'm tired now... Night NIght!

OH! My Question !

QUESTION: WHICH LAND at Epcot's World Showcase is YOUR Favorite and WHY !???

My favorite country at WS is China. I went to Epcot with just my Grandma in 2002 and we had a wonderful lunch at Nine Dragons. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes, I loved going to WDW with her. She passed away in 2007.

What is your favorite Disney resort and why?

I most prefer POR and the most honest answer is that it was the first one I stayed at on property and holds a lot of magic for that reason. But, I should say that I love the transition upriver from Magnolia Bend to Alligator Bayou. The landscaping is amazing and the river runs through the resort, not on the edge.

TNP, What is your favorite "quiet spot" in all of WDW?

PoohsFan1

I love going to Tom Sawyer's Island and just sitting in one of the rocking chairs (preferrably the one that is facing BTMRR) and just listen to the sounds of BTMRR go by or even just the park being alive. TSI is such a relaxing place to just sit and let your mind wonder.

I love Pinocchio Village Haus. The food is fine, but I take a seat by the window to IASW and wave to everyone as they go by. I actually really like to have a Mickey stuffed animal wave to them (Pal Mickey was good for this). It's fun to watch the kids smile and wave, or the parents try to get the kids' attention to see what is going on.

What view would you want at the CR?

HM... How did I miss that?

Well - I have yet to stay at CR ( I suppose you mean Contemporary Resort as opposed to Coronado Resort). DS and I ate at Cali Grill May 10th 2010...so I did get to visit and see the great views from the observation deck...so I suppose I would (of course) choose the view of the castle if it is available.

I hope to one day be able to say I've stayed at ALL resorts... however my next 2 on radar are WL and AKL...so no plans for CR In the foreseeable future.

Re-do the house! With the repairs that need to be made, if the house was re-done, we'd have the money for more trips. Besides, we already go once a year (at least!), anyway.

TNP: If you could ride any ride at any park, but could only ride that one ride for your entire trip, what would it be, and why?

Probably the Kilimajaro Safaris, it long and the animals move around so it has it's constantly dynamic. But I wouldn't mind the Jungle Cruise so I could get to know each skippers speal and figure out some good followup jokes to theirs. In the end I will pick TSM at least that way I could try to hit all the easter eggs and get the high score.

We were at Disney once for the holidays and we stayed at BC, which was great with the chocolate carousel and the smell of Ginger Bread as you walk into the lobby. The other resort that I loved to go visit was WL, it is just so festive there with the big Christmas tree in the middle of the lobby.

Favorite Shop at DTD?

Love the Lego SHOP ! LOVE the "Dollar Store" ! LOVE the "Disney apparel" store... I think my favorite would be the Lego shop... I LOVED lego's as a child...and while I did not buy anything there.. it was like an attraction in and of itself ! FUN!

Hidden Mickey that I was not aware of?

YES! One time at WDW the family was "Extra Crazy" about Hidden Mickey's... we found a lot of them...and even though I had done a lot of research about them we found some (especially in the Solarium at BC) that we were not aware of. I though I found one in the water bubbles at "Finding Nemo" at AK...in May... but DS18 would now 'allow' those because he didn't beleive them to be "true" Hidden MIckey's.

QUESTION! ("courtesy of my DH")

"What is the BEST JOB at Disney !????"

Birdman1511
06-18-2010, 10:22 PM
Great question.. I'd like to have Mickey Mouse's job;)...

jk:hippie:.. Its pretty much a tie, one is "behind the scenes" and one is "on the scene".. I think it'd be a lot of fun to be an imagineer.. to help create the magic at Disney and be part of a team that comes up with all the brilliant ideas for attractions, resorts, parks, restaurants, everything.. that would be so much fun. As for the other job, I'd definitely have to be in entertainment.. whether its being a character on set or in a parade or right down to the guy who hi-jacks the great movie ride, i think it would be so much fun to help entertain the guests:thumbsup2

Question:

Did you see Toy Story 3 today??

skiingfast
06-19-2010, 02:07 AM
No, and I am upset about it. I live in a small town and the same person owns the three theaters. The advertising in our paper changes on Wednesday and they will print then what is coming on Friday. They made such a big deal about how much they were spending to upgrade a couple screens to show 3D films this winter. So what are they showing according to thier add? Shrek.

Tonight I checked their website because it shows what movies they have ordered. The website shows that TS3 is indeed playing today. I wish the paper would of shown this.

Anyway I wouldn't of seen it tonight anyway because I don't have my son. But will on Sunday so I have Father's Day plans to see it then.

TNP: Some people take annual disney trips, some take every trip to Disney, and some go once in a liftime. How is it for you? Why so?

Ariel on Land
06-20-2010, 02:55 AM
Lately it's been every vacation has been to Disney (about once a year.) No real intention on annual trips- it's just worked out that way. In 2008, I needed a break from my 18 month old twins and time to spend alone w/ DH. In 2009, the military offer was so great that we had to take the boys. In 2010, DH's deployed and this was the only place we could think of that all FOUR of us would really enjoy spending a vacation after he returns. Who knows when or what our next reason will be! :goodvibes

TNP: If you could take any one person (not in your immediate family) to Disney, who would it be and why?

PoohsFan1

DS18 and I did the "Around the World at Epcot" Tour on May 14th... IT WAS INCREDIBLE !!!!

I would do it again. And again. And again !

I'll NEVER forget our little group...whipping by on our segways... the LAST part of the tour...back to where we started. People were entering the park...and treated us like we were 'officials' or something... one little girl observing us on our segways said "That's Not Fair!"... LOL

Probably the Poly I like the dining and the pool but I also like POFQ, it's small so I don't spend lots of time getting to the lobby or buses and it's close to DHS and Epcot. To be definite the Boardwalk because I love using the side entrance to Epcot and the entertainment on the boardwalk itself.

I haven't been fortunate enough to visit any Disney park other than WDW yet, so I would have to pick Epcot as my favorite. I love the pace, the rides, and exploring the countries!

Speaking of the countries, which World Showcase country is your favorite to explore?

Hard to say, I like the Zen garden in Japan, The stores in Germany and Octoberfest are a lot of fun. But Probably Mexico because I really like the look of the interior. The plaza with the resturaunt and the night scence with the volcanos.

How many modes of transportation have you used getting to WDW and inside WDW in a single trip?

Brasil, because so many people at the parks speak Portugese, more than Spanish. I never knew this until I learned to speak some Portugese but the monorial message should not be in Spanish. Maybe an amazon river ride could fit in it or something about surfing.

Well there is the idea of the doors with Monster Inc. which is good, but since they have the laugh floor I will pick a different movie. I think the movie Bolt could have a new attraction. I'd really like to see a Bug's Land in AK-like the one in DCA.

He gave me the low down on the college program. But what was way better is I went to a fast food place later that night near CM housing and ate with two girls who were roomates. Having been prepared by the first guy on his take on being a CP I asked the girls more in general about life while a CP.

What is the longest amount of time you've seen it go without rain on vacation?

PIRATEGIRL007
07-05-2010, 01:47 PM
We went 6 days begining of September 09, it was raining when we arrived, quit as we walked to bus to get to MK in the afternoon (woohoo everything was walk on!) it didn't rain the rest of our trip, but as we pulled out to leave for home it sprinkled in Orlando and poured down the whole next day (SIL and family stayed longer than we did).

May we made it 7 days too, arrived Friday night didn't rain till next friday night around 10pm at DTD, then Sat afternoon at both Epcot and MK for a few hours. It rained at other parks (based on what I heard on my wdw chat app on my phone) but we managed to miss it everyday. It was great, we seemed to have the best luck all week with weather.

I've had many of them, but my favorite (most recent) was when we were there in March. It was our last full day and it had rained all day. There were evening EMH at MK so we were there until 3am. As we were leaving the park (at closing) there was no one on Main Street and the way the lights from the buildings reflected off of the wet ground was so gorgeous. We got a picture of our family in ponchos with huge smiles on our faces (mind you it was 3am too), facing Main Street having the times of our lives.

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom and another one at Epcot. I would definitely recommend the Keys tour. I loved both of them, but found the Keys tour to be very fascinating, informative and you get to go behind the scenes as well as down into the tunnels. But it's not for little ones and (as is everything at the World) is a lot of walking.

But you will also LOVE the special pins you get with each tour.

TinkerbellinLouisian

YES! Last trip, on May 14th 2010, (our last night) DS18 and I shared an Illuminations cruise with 2 other families that we met on Disboards...

Illuminations is my FAVORITE "Fireworks" (although I hesitate to call any of them that)... and it's my tradition to End the entire Disney week with Illuminations. It just makes you feel SO GOOD !

It was a surprise for DS18, and this was his Graduation Celebration. We had a GREAT time! The families we met were Awesome folks and one of the ladies had taken charge of ordering Graduation Decorations, and a lovely Cake!

Best seat I've ever had for Illuminations! I want to do this again...with JUST DH and I.
