We are planning a trip for September and can't decide between CBR or CSR. It will be me, my partner and my elderly Mother. It is my Mom's first time at WDW and I want to make this a special trip for her. I am concerned about CSR being 3 or 4 floors. Are there elevators? There is no way my Mom can do stairs.
Anyway, we stayed for one night during our honeymoon at CBR and we thought it was nice, but I would like to try a new resort. I hope the experts out there will give me many opinions!!!

TinkerChelle - CSR has elevators in each section of the resort. The casitas is the only section that is 4 floors The cabanas and ranchos are 2. Check out my web page below for info on CSR. Seaspray has a site on CBR.

Good luck deciding and have a great time!!

Thanks ******** for your reply. Your site was very helpful, too! Any other opinions out there???

I vote for CBR --Martinque bldg 26...gets you right next to the food court. I enjoyed the CBR the couple of times I stayed there and if you can request Martinque 26 your right next to the food court...

We love CSR. Our favorite section is the Casitas, however, it might not be the best choice for you due to your mother. Unless, you could request a room on the first floor. It is very elegant. I know some people say they don't like CSR because of the conventions, we personally have barely noticed them there. We will be heading back this June.

Buzz 2001 ~ great site. thanks for posting...it helps me with my daydreaming!....can't wait.

Hi Zurgswife, We are going to cbr in June. First time staying there. I requested Martinique 25 or 26. Are they close to the bus stop too. Is the main pool close ? Do you know how late the main pool is open? We will be hanging at the pool alot. Thanks corvair

Having stayed at both, CSR edges out CBR for me. At CSR, I stayed in the Cabana section, which seemed to be close the pool, registration desk/food court, and the bus stop. I liked CSR's overall decor and pool theme better than CBR. But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

If you want to check out other resorts without staying there, you can have dinner at a desired resort or even just hop on a bus from one of the parks or DD to the resort you want to check out. While we stayed at CSR, we visited WL, FW, GF, and the resorts around the Boardwalk. As a result, it looks like we'll end up staying at the WL at our next visit. Good Luck!

Hi there!

Take a look at my CBR web site, the link is below. I have a lot of pictures and information :) This is a beautiful resort. One good thing about CBR is that you can get a room that is close to everything, which I have read is hard to do at CSR.
Happy planning! : )

I liked CBR. CBR was my first trip to the World so I am a bit partial.
Didn't like paying 10% auto tip in the CSR food court, and the conventions did bother us. Other than that the place is beautiful. CSR is smaller and may be easier for mom to get around. I think I remember seeing elevators at CSR.

My vote is for the CSR. Piglet203 and I will be there in just 4 days. We've never been there, but thanks to ********'s site and SteveH's site, we can't help but think that it is going to be great staying there. I stayed at the CBR in 1999, and while I thought it was a great resort, there just doesn't seem to be as much to do there as there is at the CSR. Either resort will be nice, since it's Disney, so you really can't go wrong. HAve a great time no matter where you decide to stay.

We have stayed at both and our favorite is Carribbean Beach. We like the food court better and the rooms are a bit larger and have a dressing curtain. However, I am always in favor of trying new resorts and Coronado Springs is a beautiful resort with a lot of fun stuff to do, including a spa - which might be a nice treat for your Mom.

Have fun!

and we prefer CBR hands down. The atmosphere is totally relaxing....really makes you feel like you're truly on vacation! Each village has its own private pool & they're usually pretty quiet and calm. Kids tend to venture over to the main pool because of the slides. CBR has a great poolside bar called the Banana Cabana, which is also a great place to sit and watch the fireworks from Epcot!

We thought CSR was OK, but the rooms were smaller. Also, the food court left alot to be desired. Overall, we were disappointed with CSR and decided that CBR would be our home-away-from-home from now on!

we will be staying at CSR for the first time next week and are really looking forward to it. We have stayed at CBR on 2 occasions and absolutely loved it. Agree with earlier poster: request Martinique bldg 26. This building is right next to Old Port Royal(food court) and the main themed pool. The bus stops right in front of the building. Also, you are right at the marina and lake. CBR is an awesome resort. warning: you'll have that music in your head for weeks after you get home. lol.

and enjoyed both. Some pros and cons:

--Both resorts have elevators.

--Pepper Market food court at CSR charges 10% surcharge; however, (1) I understand they will take this off on request, and (2) it was worth it for us to have real plates and silverware and beverage refills from the server. Also, once you get used to using the cards, it is easier to check out at the end if the folks in your party get different types of food, rather than going in different lines at CBR food court.

--You can be far away from either Port Royale at CBR or El Centro at CSR; however, at CSR the main pool (Dig Site) is separate from El Centro so you might be close to the pool even if farther from restaurants.

--CBR's rooms are significantly larger.

--Both resorts have lovely landscaped grounds; however, IMO walking around the lake at CSR between the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas is a more continuous, varied experience than at CBR.

--CSR's pool is bigger and has the large hot tub. Both resorts have "quiet pools" in each section.

--CSR has a nice, underrated sit-down restaurant (Maya Grill). CBR's sit-down restaurant was an add-on, and feels it.

--CSR has conventioneers. It turns some folks off to see businessmen in El Centro when they are on vacation. They never really affected us.

DancingBear - I like your 2 and 3 points. Very true.

Don't forget that CSR has an awesome slide too.

If you are interested in the pool, I would go to CSR. Its themed pool is bigger. If the theme doesn't matter, CBR has quiet pools in each village. Little kids love the CBR main pool and when I've been there it's been crowded.
