I originally had ressies at ASSports for $94 a night with a post card rate. That is preferred room, tax included.
I got really nervous about All Stars and changed ressies to POR for $119 a night with an AP rate.
Last year and this same time and same rate season we paid $84 a night for POFQ. I just feel like I am getting shafted.
I definately want to stay at a moderate but how did everybody get a better price? Even with the postcard (now expired) I would have been paying about $105 and they didn't have any availability for our time frame.
This is just frustrating.

Well, rates this year aren't near as good as they were last year. Keep looking for new deals, but, atleast you have a discounted rate!

You didn't say when you were going, but $119 is quite a savings over the rack rate. If you are an AP holder, there is a lower rate if its available. Keep checking this site's codes page or mousesavers.com for new rates. Overall, however, $119 isn't bad. Before I knew about this site, I paid rack rate many times - argh!! :D

marymouse - when are you going? CaliforniaDreaming is right - the AP rates aren't as good as usual. I am used to the $84 or $89 moderate rate as well (and paid that in October 2001 at POR and January 2002 at CBR), but am paying about what you are for CBR in June. I'm happy to get any discount, and I'm not disappointed in the deal.
I've stayed at the All Stars in the past, and will again at the $49 or $59 rate. Otherwise I prefer the moderates.

I think last year's discounts were exceptional. It may be a while before we see deals like that again.
Personally, I think Disney resorts are a great value (for the most part) even at rack rates. I look at any discount as gravy!

We're going May 8th and staying at POR. We tried three codes/ways to get lower prices..one from our postcard. First our postcard rate was $93, a code form mousesavers was also $93 (all these plus tax) and our DC was $94 with free mini golf for everyone in the room (although I see on our confirmation we need to use that one of our first two days..we did go for the $94). We have five, and three are adults, so we also have to pay an extra $15 a nite.
Something special is suppose to be released on April 1st for DC holders and the next week to eveybody, so maybe you'll be able to get a better price then.
I'd like to know where people got the $84 for this time frame..that is really good!

Ya'll have a point that any discount is better than nothing. I think I have just gotten spoiled.
I am also really going to miss POFQ. I don't think I realized how much until I started to look for good room locations at POR. Anywhere at POFQ is great.

I can make you feel a little bit better about your rates, we're paying a total, including tax of 577.00 for 4 nights at POR in a standard view room. Believe me, I know how you feel, everyone has a lower rater than me. Hope that helped!

I do feel better about it. I do think I did the best I could, I probably spent $30 on the phone (LOL). Now I just have to figure out how to explainn to my husband that we owe $25 more a night.
THis is out after tax season celebration so I hope he is ok with it.

Marymouse, if it makes you feel any better, I have always paid rack rate with the exception of this past Christmas (when I used Dreams Unlimited Travel and they were able to get me an AP rate at a few of the resorts that I stayed at).
Try not to fret too much over what you paid and think more about the wonderful vacation experiences that you are going to have. Five or ten years from now, you won't even remember what you paid for your room, but you will remember the smiles on your children's faces when you grabbed that hot dog on Main Street at the MK and got mustard all over your face :) or when you all sat on the beach at the Poly and watched the Electrical Water Pageant float by. Those memories will be all that you'll remember. Your vacation will be magical. Have fun!

We got a postcard for any Moderate which was about $7.00 more than the code rate we had for the ASM. So we changed over to CBR.

We are paying $95.00 for CSR. Others got a $94.00 rate for CSR. Ours include mini golf tickets.
Did you check mousesavers.com?

I'm holding my postcard right now (had to go and look again LOL), and mine just says $94 (although mousesavers had one for $93..we took DC rate and got the free mini golf, for $94). YOu would think Disney would at least offer us all the same postcard rate for the same times! $84 is the very cheapest I've seen it in years!

We have only stayed on site at WDW in January. This past January I paid only $54 a night at ASMo with the AP discount.
This May the same room was going for $94 a night with the DC (no AP rate available when I called).
Quite a difference.
I did get a different rate code (available to anyone) and paid $104 for POR (w/tax). This was the same as the postcard rate, from what I have read. The postcard rates I saw were not including taxes.
It's hard to imagine a room in the Fantasia building would have been the same price per night as what I am paying at a mod.
