View Full Version : WDW tickets - potential bargain

Helen Clayton

I've found a UK website that is offering 10day world ticket passes for wdw at virtually the same price as a 5 day hopper plus. The site is http://www.theflightshop.co.uk/theme_price.htm

We were going to buy a 5 day pass as we are only in Orlando for 6 nights. Would we be able to buy a 10 day pass and use it between us - i.e. the single ticket would be swiped twice for us both to get in.

This would be a massive saving if we could do this

Thanks
Helen

No you wouldn't be able to do that. Only one person may use a park admission per day. The WDW computers keep track of when a pass has been used. So in your case each person would need their own admission pass.

Plus those prices are in Pounds I don't know the equivalent maybe someone can tell us if that is a good deal with the Dollar-Pound conversion.

Maleficent2

is 1.426

so if something is 10.00L(pounds) it would cost us $14.26

Can we buy those too?

As I am from the UK I have taken advantage of this ticket for my trip in May, If you convert £'s into $'s then the cost of the ticket is around $264. So compaired with the price you can get tickets in the US is this realy a good bargain?

cindyfan
03-30-2002, 03:46 PM
No No No......that comes to $268, if I did the math right ;)
BUT.......what kind of pass is this!!!????
I've never heard of a 10 day pass?
If you look at the INFO page:
It does not say it is a "hopper"! and can only be used beginning May 1st through Oct. Expires 20 days after first use. When they say "....allowing you to visit more than one park on one day" I think that means one of the 4 parks plus either a water park or DQ or Sports complex.
I guess if that would work for you. ;)
But,I have always felt....if it sounds too good to be true....it usually is. There seems to be more to this.
I am not sure I would feel comfortable purchasing tickets from anyone other than WDW or TDS!

Oh yea, the tickets no matter where purchased, usually state "non-transferrable"...so NO to trying to use the same ticket for more that one person per day!

I wonder if they only sell this in the UK. It would make sense that perhaps they might sell a longer pass there thinking that since it so far people might come for longer stays, but come less often. I

akasleepingbeauty

This is definitely a pass marketed to the UK market. Many UK visitors come for long trips (2+ weeks is very common) so having a pass like this as an option is a great idea for them. It would also work for any other visitor here for 5+ park days (since it is nearly equal in price to a 5 day PHP) who wants unlimited admission to the water parks and DQ which you cannot get with a PH or regular AP.

I do think these are hopper passes but the website does not specifically use that term so it would be important to verify this before ordering.

A character breakfast is also included which is a nice bonus. Also, these passes do expire 20 days after their first use so that would be another thing to consider.

These appear to be legitimate passes to me - they are unfamiliar to us just because they appear not to be marketed here. If your visit coincides with the applicable dates and you could make full use of these passes, they seem like a great deal to me.

:) :) :)

Thanks for the replies. Just to confirm about the validity of the tickets. I am from the UK and quite a few high street travel agents here are offering the same sort of deal - a 10 day pass for the same price as 5 days. I know of 4 or 5 places I could buy them at this sort of price and can assure you that they are genuine. There are some conditions regarding dates and expiry but if they fit in with your plans it looks like a good deal.

Humpbacks1962

LOL that would be a good deal I was just showing a conversion example.

And yes these are LEGIMATE tickets as Helen stated but I would be very careful trying to purchase these if I was not a BRIT.One I doubt they would mail them to any US address.

Also as akasleepingbeauty said most Brits come to the World for much longer than us Americans(inlaws are Brits they usually stay 15 days at WDW)so that is why they offer this pass to them.

but just to let you all know I think the offer runs out today (tickets have to be orderd before 31/03/02 or for all the US people 03/31/02).

OK im stupid, just looked at the site again it now says 31/05/02 (US 05/31/02). They must have extended the offer as I am sure it was as I stated above

This would be ideal for us. My dd & I could go to the parks for just a portion of a day while my son is golfing, etc. And they both want Disney Quest.

1. Has anyone completed an order to find out shipping to US?

2. Also, do we dare ask Disney if they are valid for US Citizens?

Also, before you order, check to see what your Credit Card charges you for foreign rates. Some of the major players have recently raised their overseas exchange rates-just make sure you pick the best one.

Well, I feel like I am dealing with politicians when I try to find out from them! I just can't spend the $$ unless I know they can be used by Americans! I still have received no email reply from the company overseas. However, this is the wishy-washy reply from Disney. NEVER answers the question as to whether they can be used or not. Of course, the Ultimate lists no prices on the web site link either!

WHERE CAN WE GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER???????????????? I tried the phone number and they said quote ' the most we offer is a 7 day pass'.

Hi, I am from the UK and the company on the internet are about 30miles from my home. I can buy the tickets at a similar offer price of £195 per adult at my high street travel agent. The ticket price has been much higher and it looks like this offer is just until 31 Oct. As far as I can tell there is no stipulation that the ticket has to be used by a UK resident. If I can be any more help let me know. If there was an inexpensive way I could mail them to US residents I would be happy to do so but I suspect the costs in currency transfer (paypal or similar) and insured postage would make the tickets too expensive.

In the meantime here is another UK site (legitimite - I've bought airline tickets from them before) who offer the 10 day pass at a good rate.

Did you try the original site recommended here on this post? It says right on the main page that they do accept order from the US. The site also says they have eliminated credit card transaction fees for online orders. I would suggest contacting them also and seeing if maybe it will work out there instead.

Well, I finally received a reply from Disney that says:

We believe that you are referring to the 10-Day Worldpass, which is marketed in the United Kingdom and other international markets. Although we do not monitor who uses the 10-day Worldpass tickets (since passes may be given as gifts), that type of pass is only available for purchase from those specific markets and does have certain limitations. The 10-Day Worldpass does have an expiration date and if it becomes demagnetized or damaged and needs to be reissued, you may be questioned as to where you purchased the pass

So, I guess it is chancey. I wish I knew someone I could have order it for me for a gift!

If I do decide to do this, I think I will wait until closer to the time we are going in July in case something changes & anyone has a problem.

If this site is always guaranteeing the lowest price in the UK, I wouls have to guess that in a few months they would have some other offer extending through perhaps December????

They can question as much as they want but there is no residency requirement like the Florida resident passes. My family in Germany would use these tickets without hesitation. If anyone is "nervous" they could always say, "I got them from my grandmother in England" or you bought them on a business trip. This is exactaly the type of pass my family could use and if they extend the offer I would buy them!

I have a relative in the travel industry in Orlando that has hinted that a 10-day pass would be available this spring. It sounds like the one but I hae not heard as to its availability and at what price in the states. If it expires than that would make it less attracitive to many. It does sound like a good deal though.

This 10-day World Hopper Pass sounds absolutely perfect for my family's trip in August. I just want to be certain that we can use them. Has anyone heard back from the Flight Shop about shipping fees to the US? Also, have any British citizens actually received the passes yet? If so, is there any indicators on the passes that would block US citizens from using them? Thanks for any information you can provide.

To all of you interested in the 10-day World Pass:
I just received a reply from The Flight Shop regarding the 10-day World pass. I will be ordering my passes this week, as even with the $80.00 shipping charge, I will still be saving over $200. Good luck to all.

Dear Keely,

There is no restriction on the Disney World Pass for US citizens.
However, for orders from the USA we are required to charge an additional
USD 80.00 to cover Federal Express shipping and credit card charges.

FWIW, I recently ordered hopper tickets from this web site:

http://reservations.paramountinternationaltravel.com/DisneyOrderTickets.asp

They also offer a 10 day world pass for $335 plus shipping which sounds very much like the pass described above. I considered this pass, but since our trip will be less than 10 days and the pass expires 20 days after first use, it didn't work for us.

This company is located in Vineland, FL and has a toll free customer sevice number (which I used to order and ask questions). Shipping charge is $15 per order. Discounts appear to be approximately 10% off gate. Even after paying shipping, I saved more than I would with the DC discount. I did have to mail in a copy of my credit card (you could also fax it), but the tickets were sent promptly.

While I have not yet used the hopper tickets I purchased, they appear to be the exact same hopper tickets sold by Disney. I cannot tell the difference from those I have purchased in the past from the Disney Store or at the gate.

HTH someone.

Good Morning USA !!! :-))

Jimmie from England calling.

The reason for these 10 day world passes in the UK is because Disney do insist that all people trying to book WDW resorts via UK travel agents must also purchase ultimate park hopper passes.
For people staying offsite, they have designed the 10 day world pass instead.
There is currently a special offer which makes them look very competitive.

190 Quid (pounds) is the best price but also includes free character breakfast ( and some others at 199 pounds (260 dollars) may also include free character breakfast and a free WDW lunch (http://www.keithprowsetickets.com/WaltDisneyWorld.html) if they ever update the website. You could always try telephoning.
It is easy, (I am phoning USA all the time) just remove the first 0 then dial 0044 then dial the rest of the number.
Ask them if they will ship to USA.

OK, First price is adult-2nd is child for reference here.
Disney's 4 Day Park Hopper Plus (1 plus) $210 $168
Disney's 5 days Park Hopper Plus $238 (2 plus) $189
Disney's 6 days Hopper Plus w/breakfast (3 plus) $262 $215
Disney's 7 days Park Hopper Plus (4 plus) $284 $231
Disney's 10 days World Pass $335 $275
Disney's Florida Fun in the Sun Ticket $278 $225
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park $29 $23
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL $65 $39
DISNEY QUEST $28 $22

Children's ages are 3 to 9.

For add'l reference, does anyone have a quick list of comparison prices for the hopper plus passes from Connections? After trying the 10 day pass and hitting a $945 price (ACK!) for the 10 day passes, I'm considering going back to the 6 day hoppers w/breakfast for $739. At least I can save unused days if need be. ?Or maybe the Fun in the Sun ticket? I haven't seen that one mentioned before but it's good for 30 days according to the pop-up window.

I apologize if I missed this in our ongoing thread, but has anyone ordered from this company besides CarolMN? If so, were tickets used with no problem? I may still wait slightly in case I would have to dispute any issues with my credit card, but they sound great.

I like the looks of the Fun in the Sun package... for 2 adults & 2 children it's only 50.00 more than the six day hopper... so if you're going for 2 weeks for instance it's a great deal... If you're going back within a year & don't need waterpark passes, the regular AP is still ideal for that....

Thanks to CarolMN for posting the website, it looks like a really good source...

jgates and others interested in the Disney's Florida Fun in the Sun passes:
I e-mailed the reservation center at the website that is advertising these passes to inquire about the restrictions that apply, as noted in the pass descriptions. Apparently, they cannot sell the tickets to certain areas, NY, being one of them. They have put in a request for authorization to sell them to me and will let me know when they get a response.
If you are interested in these passes, make sure that they are allowed to sell them to the area you live in.

Well, I certainly hope not.:D However, if it is true, I wonder why how they could still be in business?

I did call the listed toll free number and talked to a real person. They sent the tickets UPS and even sent me an email with the tracking number. They have an office in Vineland, FL and according to their website are a "Florida Licensed Seller of Travel # ST-32671". In addition to WDW tickets, they book hotel accomodations and sell lots of other attraction tickets. Of course, none of that is any guarantee that they are a legitimate company and I did NOT check them out with the state of Florida or the Orlando Chamber of Commerce or the Better Business Bureau. That said, my belief is that if they were not legitimate, they would have disappeared a long time ago.

We will not be using the park hopper tickets until mid-August, but I will most certainly post (and post often and everywhere) if there is any problem using them.

This would save our family around $300.00 not even including the character breakfast. They also sell the orlando flex tickets. Could someone tell me if this is legit? It would really be cool! Their site says that they give the tickets, not a certificate- is that good or bad?

I had already posted my reply from Disney on the 10 Day WP back on page 2-

We believe that you are referring to the 10-Day Worldpass, which is marketed in the United Kingdom and other international markets. Although we do not monitor who uses the 10-day Worldpass tickets (since passes may be given as gifts), that type of pass is only available for purchase from those specific markets and does have certain limitations. The 10-Day Worldpass does have an expiration date and if it becomes demagnetized or damaged and needs to be reissued, you may be questioned as to where you purchased the pass

So, consequently, if you do manage to get a company to ship them to you-it should be useable. Although, if you did run into one of the end problems where they questioned you, you probably better say it was a gift or risk the company you purchased from losing their ability to sell Disney passes.

I still haven't decided what to do-I'll probably calculate the exchange rate a little closer to our leaving time-may just order a Connections pass if I join that.

I had also asked them about hopping from one main park to another ie. epcot to MK because I have read different info. on that. I sure hope that we can do this because it saves us around 400.00 Thanks!

Here is what Disney sent me in regard to the 10 day world ticket:

We appreciate your recent ticket inquiry.

Regarding the 10-Day World Hopper passes, the park hopper days do allow you to hop between the four main Theme Parks on each day of use. Hopping from one park to another on the same day counts as only one day of use.

For further information regarding the 10-Day World Hopper Pass, please see the pass literature, which should have been included with the pass. If you did not receive any pass literature, your overseas relative may wish to return to the location from which your passes were purchased to inquire about any further information.

Does anyone know what pass info. comes with the tickets from theflightshop?
I am still unsure about any restrictions, has anyone bought tickets from them?

I think I need to ask your 'overseas relative' to adopt my family temporarily!

Yeah, if this deal pans out I expect UK relatives to be coming out of the woodwork. We are really considering purchasing these tickets if we can get some positive feedback about the company. I also emaild theflightshop with questions about the pass info that comes with the passes and since they send tickets-notvouchers- if any of the sercurity (x-ray) stuff at fedex would damage them. I haven't heard anything back yet. I want to be sure we would get legit, unused tickets.

Virgin travelstore has now changed their website and made it possible to place international orders.

I ordered 3 "10-day passes" from them yesterday, and expect them to arrive late next week.

I called them, before ordering, and asked if there were any special shipping price, when I was placing an order with shipping to Denmark, and was told that there were none. I do not know if this also goes for orders to the states

I will post back as soon as I have received them.

This is the response that I received regarding the Fun in the Sun tickets being sold in the US:

Dear Mrs. Hutton,
We can not offer you the Florida Fun tickets.
Those are only available for some European Markets.
Sorry

Just purchased 10-day passes from flightshop.com. Am having them mailed to friend in Ireland who will mail them to me. Hope it works...Just too good a value not to try. Around $274 with exchange rate. Anyone else tried yet and received them? Thanks to all here AND the UK board which also had a thread and gave me the confidence to go for it!:Pinkbounc

Hello beattyfamily and everyone! We purchased thru flightshop in UK. Used online ordering. Our Amex was charged $1195 U.S. for 4 adult 10-day tix. They were mailed to my friend in Ireland this weekend and are now on way to us in NJ. Will be using them late June. Wish us luck! Will let you know how it goes. Check out the UK board for another few threads on these. Tally-Ho!!!;)
