SuperTarget near HHI

I thought I had bookmarked a thread, but my memory is once again not working. Is there a SuperTarget or similar near HHI or on the way from Savannah? We will be needing groceries as well as diapers, beach toys, etc. Boy, will I be missing my Owners Locker!

There's a Target on Hwy. 278 in Bluffton...you'll see it on the right as you approach the island. (But I'm not absolutely sure it's a Super Target, you might want to double check on their website, my recollection is that they have many grocery items but not the whole shebang with produce, etc.) They are in the process of adding a stoplight on the other side of the street and my guess is that it will also cut through for access to the Target as well. Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled for the sign...if you pass by it make the next right into a car dealership (BMW? Saab? something like that) area and you can cut back through the parking lot to the Target. It's difficult to make a u-turn in that area.

There's also a Super Wal-Mart closer to the I-95 on 278, or a regular Wal-Mart on island.

There is a Food Lion at the same shopping center (Kittie's Crossing) as the Target and there is a Publix in the same shopping center (Festival Center) as the Wal-Mart on the island.

If you're coming from the Savannah area, there is another Super Wal-Mart just off I-95 at the same exit as the Savannah airport (just the other direction once you exit I-95). I think the prices there might be a little better; it seems that once you get on 278 towards Hilton Head, the prices get increasingly higher the further east you go. ;)

BTW, gas prices when we left HH today were around $3.65 - $3.69 per gallon of regular unleaded both on and off the island. :scared1:

Maybe it was wishful thinking. I have corrected my previous post.

I don't think there is anywhere in the country that isn't at least approaching $4 a gallon these days.

Yes, but the Wal-mart on the island is "tastefully" hidden by a big stand of trees. Translation-you can't find it worth a darn! If you're heading off island, it's on the left near Indigo Run, if I remember correctly. But like I said, look very closely or you won't find it!

HH has VERY strict zoning laws which make all the signs "small and tasteful" The positive is it looks great. The negative is it's hard to find stuff.
