Considering a pre-Halloween cruise -- was wondering if the last week of Oct. falls within "Hurricane Season" What could we expect in the weather department?
Thanks!

Yes it is. We sailed mid-october in 2001 and had great weather (some occasional rain, but nothing major).

Hurricane season goes through November. You might want to check Dave's site, I think he has some links to weather!

I live in Florida, and in the past few years, the worst hurricanes have been throughout September. While October is still hurricane season, they are usually not quite so severe by then and most of them only end up being small tropical storms that dissipate before long.

We were on the 2000 Halloween cruise and the weather was perfect. I heard the cruisers from 2001 Halloween cruise encountered some not so great weather because of a tropical depression. They couldn't dock at Castaway Cay! :( because of the wind.
Normally things do die down in mid to late October.
