Is there a limit to the number of times you can eat at Palos? We have 2 small kids, and really enjoy our time alone for dinner. I was thinking I would book 2 nights there. Is it allowed?
Lots of people comment that they don't like Parrots Cay for dinner. We love Caribbean food, and I think the menu sounds fantastic. Is there another reason why people don't like it as much?
Going November 30th!

You can book one confirmed reservation there, and then you can book another reservation later should a cancellation arise. My experience is that once you've been there, the maitre d' is willing to work with you.

What would we do without you Dave? Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me something else..... everyone seems to say that they don't like Parrotts Cay very much. My husband and I (and kids) love Caribbean food and think the menu sounds great. Is there another reason that this is everyone's least favourite restaurant?

Parrot Cay is a wonderful place! However, even better are Lumiere's/Tritons, and Animator's Pallate! It is not that people don't like PC, it is just that as good as that restaurant is, the others are even better!
We're going to try Palo's in August because we've heard so many wonderful things about it and we are now doing the 7 day for the first time...
I just can't wait!

Okay, now I understand. I can't wait to try all these wonderful restaurants. One more thing that I don't quite understand. It looks like there are 3 special evenings: Master Chef Series, Tropic....?, and Captain's Gala. There seems to be 3 separate menus on these nights. Are they in addition to the menus that are already at each of the restaurants? So, you can choose from the regular menu, or pick from the "special" menu?

Take a look at the menus for the 7-day at my web site...
www.dcltribute.com/menus
You get each restaurant's themed menu only once... on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. On the other four nights there is a special menu that is served simultaneously at all three restaurants.

Now I understand. So it really takes some planning to decide when to eat at Palos. Good something else to plan! Yeah!

On the subjuect of Palo's... I've seen different reference to the extra cost. Is it $5. each for dinner, free for brunch (plus tips, since they aren't included in the combined day tip to your other waiter)
Thanks,

Palo champagne brunch is $10 pp but it is great, and yes dinner is $5 pp plus wine if you have it and extra tip if you want to give more than $5. Also I like Parrot Cay at least as well as the other 2 restaurants, just depends on what you order I think. Try to get to all the restaurants at least once, and don't miss the Animator's Palate show.

Ah, so the $5. IS part or all of the tip?

The $5 service fee is a small tip. You must pay this fee, but you have the option of signing leaving additional gratuity.

We just returned from the 3/23 Magic :D andate at Palo twice. It was great and SO quiet compared to the regular dining rooms. I made a reservation for night #2 then went back a few days later (St. Maarten night). They open up around 4 and I went up a few minutes after that so they had time to check voicemail for cancellations etc. and asked if they had anything open for that night. We got in no problem. I was hoping to try again another night, but the kids didn't want to eat with the kid's club again, so out went that plan. It is well worth it -- the food is a few notches above even the better food in the dining room, and as I said -- it is SO quiet. The last night while buying pictures in Shutters I met an older woman traveling with her grandchildren who said she ate their 3 times. :)
