Hi UK disers!

I am trying to get my best friend who lives in the UK to meet us in Disney next year.

Her hubby says its too expensive blah blah and I'm finding it difficult to get quotes because most websites pick up that my computer is outside the UK so wont quote me as they say I'm not a resident!

so ..... my question is - where do you find the CHEAPEST disney package deals, including flights? Is it cheaper to rent a villa, car and then buy tickets, or is it cheaper to stay in a budget disney hotel and buy the tickets and meal deal? (this will be for mid-end July next year)

ALSO is there any company that does a split deal ..... flights, one week in Disney and then a weeks villa rental with car? all I can get from Virgin is one or the other - not both.

very desperate to try and get them out so your help would be much appreciated - thanks.

We had airpoints to use for our flights so I can't help you with those, but I found because their are two families going it was much cheaper to stay offsite and share the costs of a condo, rental car etc. (we also have kitchen which I am pretty sure we won't use much but offsite places to eat seem much cheaper than onsite so I have picked a few at Disney I really wanted to visit and booked reservations for them)

I booked our accommodation direct with the owner at Windsor Hills (exchange rate is good) tickets I am still searching for a good deal on they pretty much seem to be pretty similar but saving £20 here and there.

Plenty of others with more experience will be along soon I am sure to help you out but this has just been my experience first up.

Like the PP I'm based in the UK also, and found that it was cheaper booking our own flights direct with the airline and then accomodation seperatley, rather than going for a package deal.

My experience with accomodation was that again it was cheaper for me to book our villa here in the UK from a UK owner than it was going through a Florida based company. You could suggest that your friend looks at the Daltons weekly online as they have hundreds of villa's listed, many of them for excellent prices.

Hope that helps, but if not I'm sure other's will be able to offer alternative suggestions.

thanks guys - that Daltons site is so cheap!! wish I'd known that earlier this year;)

any ideas on the cheapest car hire and disney ticket places?

had a look at flights for them from LGW for August :scared1: high prices but then maybe I'm not looking at the best websites.

Islandmum your problem for late July/Aug is that it is school holiday time in the UK so Holiday prices are always inflated because they know that we will pay to go away!In most cases they may be better with Continental,US Airways,American airlines... going via Newark,Philly etc as this can reduce the costs slightly.Ticket wise can depend on the strength of your $,if the rate is good then Ticketmania or mapleleaftickets are good options.Or attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk are good this side. I have seen good reports of usrentacar.com-in fact I wish that I had known about them before booking my car hire, even though i thought that we had a good deal!

You could try a flight from Manchester, not sure where your friend lives, but BMI from Manchester saved us nearly £300 compared to flights from Gatwick. It's an indirect flight flying through Chicago. Hope you find something.
