I think I might have seen this on here before, but I would love to know what everybody's favorite souviner purchases are. Is there something that you just have to buy when you go. I dont buy a lot for myself but the one thing is always a shirt (exciting I know).

Mickey Antenna Ball from Test Track....can't drive like that to work but I love to remember.
(also- It looks really cool with lots of ice on it from the great Canadian winter)
I bought a miniature Mickey Ears Hat and it dangles from my rear view mirror.
Mickey Ears Ice cube tray-----I use it everyday!
We bought tons of fridge magnets----we collect them from everywhere we visit together as a couple.
BUT--------- my favorite souvenir is the great pictures I take and the free park maps.
Can't wait to hear more:)

Well we are both about thirty and what we like are stuffed animals, lol. First ever Disney souvenier for me was a stuffed Mickey and some Robin Hood beanie babies, that my BF brought home after his trip without me. :) We also get some pins. One souvenier that I really wanted last trip that I didn't get was the WDW Music CD and the Illuminations CD, and I kept looking for something cool with the 2001 logo on it but couldn't decide what I wanted and so came home with NOTHING with the logo on it, dumb me.

Our favorite souvenirs are the items with that years logo or theme on it.
Every year I get the new keychains with the year on it that you can put a picture in.
We also get the magnet and the photo album with the years on them. Then you can go back and look at your pictures for that year. As our kids get older they love to look at them.
It is also fun to look at our magnets on the fridge with each year and the kids picture in it.
Also a must, the beach towels for the year, the resort if it is a new resort for us, and anything else special. We like our rockin roller coaster one and the animal kingdom ones are always real pretty. We save those beach towels only for disney trips, trips to the beach, and my daughter likes taking them to her cheer or dance camp. ( I only let her take the old ones there) Also make sure you bring a permanent marker to write your name on them. Everybody has them.

I always buy a magnet from every trip we take to use in my classroom. For myself, I bought a MM travel coffee mug on our recent trip. For 2 year old DD, her favorite is her Dumbo pin.

I collect magnets from wherever we go. I must let you all in on something - you can easily demagnatize your disney room key with a magnet! I did this twice last year!!!! Do not put them anywhere near each other!!!!
Love the stuffed animals, have a collection of them!

i agree with ALL of the above souvenirs: the magnets, mugs, photo album, etc.
my favorite purchases from our last trip was a cinderella's castle snowglobe that plays
"when you wish upon a star"... whenever i miss the magic, i just turn the key and give it
a little shake... and i'm there.
also, a pooh and friends frame with my favorite DD's photo with mickey at a garden grill
character meal. makes me smile every day at work.
this year, we'll have to see. definitely another frame for maybe a special family photo
with all of wearing our ears! (if i can convince DH to wear his! LOL)
OH! and more earrings for me! i work with kids so i can get away with wearing my mickey earrings everyday. this pair is 4 years old and my $5.00 purchase was such a great investment. i'm going to get about 4 more this time!!

Mickey crystal earrings for my 5 yr. old.
Ceramic frame of cystal with Tinkerbell flying over. We keep a picture of DD dressed in their Belle and Ariel dresses posing with Prince Charming when we went to CRT for breakfast!

We have a collection of trolls from Norway in Epcot. On our last trip we all rolled our eyes when DH declared his intention of buying another. DH became offended and refused to even look at them! So, this June, we'll be adding another hairy, ugly creature to our mantle. I guess some traditions are just not meant to fade away.

I collect postcards (I have done so for 4-5 years now and have quite a collection), pressed pennies, pens and pins. I also collect the Park Maps, and other small things that have the park logo on them, as well as the year. This is a great thread, by the way.

My kids like to do the pressed pennies/quarters. I like to get things for the house. Some of my favorites are the Mickey shower clock, my Minnie tablecloth (from the store in the Land Pavilion), a mickey icon plate. My all time favorite Disney souvenir is from Disneyland...a black Mickey icon clock hanging on my porch. :)

my most loved souvie.....
the bambi coo-coo (sp?) clock from the Germany pavilion. DH and DS bought it for me on our first family trip as a present for all the hard work i did planning our trip down to the last detail.
lots of others like magnets galore (is there a fridge under there???) the yearly panoramic postcards, anything from Fort Wilderness (love my FW spare tire cover for the camper!!!)

My favorite Disney souvenirs are the straws with Mickey, the ones that screw on to twenty ounce bottles. They are sold at most beverage carts, but it is a shame they only offer two styles, sorcerer Mickey and safari/director Mickey.

I love to get a new Christmas ornament with the year on it. Last year I got coffee mugs and a spoon with the Osborne Lights on them and they were so special to me (because I love those lights!!!)

By far my families' fav souviners from our last trip were our Guest Of Honor badges!! We loved them! We also loved how many times people would do a double take when we all wore them at once. Then of course, the "OMG, where did you get those"! We all also got the matching key chains. They are great and you can't beat the price either! I bought a lot of stuff last year, but nothing makes me smile like my badge does when I look at it now! :D

Every visit I buy myself a snow globe...my one splurge "for me". The first time we went, I was too cheap, and regretted it for months afterward. So the next time, DH told me to get 2! Oh okay, if you insist... I also LOVE a "Mom" pin I bought in MK...the jewelry shop across from the Emporium on Main Street (not a shop to bring kids into). It says "Mom" with a Mickey head, and has a bar underneath where you hang Mickey icons with your kids' birthstones. $12 for the pin, $5 for the icons--they had "Grandma" and so forth also. I've received so many compliments on it!

I get a few Christmas ornaments every time I visit The World and also a coffee mug! I enjoy my coffee every morning remembering where and when I got my mug. The ornaments are a great way to bring back wonderful memories at the holidays. My kids unwrap them carefully and hang them on the tree "in just the right spot" so that we can remember all of our trips. I've also found them to be and inexpensive gift at holiday time.

We get silhouettes of our family done at the shop on Main Street in the MK. Reasonable, two-for-one and the frames are cheap too. We have a nice progression of our kids growing up. We also buy one of the flat porcelain Christmas ornaments, then write the year and the month on the back with indelible marker.

Abitjaded--Those silhouettes are a great idea!
We went to Disneyland when I was a little girl, and I still have the one of me (I'm looking at it right now!) and my grandmother still has my cousin's on the wall. When we go at the end on this year for the first time to WDW I'm going to try to get my 2 and 4 year olds to sit for it too.

I remember when we went to Disney World in 2002, and we found the Mickey antenna toppers - it said Walt Disney World on it and I felt special, because no one back home had them. Now you can find them at all Disney stores.
Also in 1997, when they had the Mickey shaped pencils, but you can find them in Disney stores now, too.
I like to look for a nice T-shirt with Disney World on it and the year. I also like to get a glass or mug with Pooh on it that also says Disney World. I try to find things I can use every day.
My favorite purchase was a blue nylon bag that has Pooh on it, and underneath him it says Walt Disney World. I hooked a plush pooh keychain on it, and take it everywhere I go - it holds ALOT. It reminds me of the magical place, and makes me more anxious to go!! :jester:
This year will be the same task - look for something unique and maybe a little crazy

When the Walk-Around-the-World started, we decided that our main souviner each trip would be a brick on the walk. Our first one was in front of the left entrance to MK and we go all the way around from Contemporary to T&TC. Wish they were still selling them.
Other favorites are my MICKEY jewelery. I can always have my favorite mouse close to me.
:) :earsgirl:
This is a weird one - I load up on as many napkins and paper plates as I can. They have different logos on them depending on where you get them, and make dining at home that much more fun for a while!

My favorite..... a silhouette of my then 1 1/2 year old DS that we got on Main Street during our first visit to MK. The artist even included his cowlick. Everytime I look at it, I can still remember how he clapped everytime we saw the castle. Even at that young age, he "got " the whole disney thing!

I pick up magnets and license plates each time we go. I also get the Official Albums/CDs and pictorial souvenir books. I used to get pins, but had to be more selective since pin collecting is so big. I am now trying to find a koozie (a soft drink can holder) with WDW on it. I'm not sure if they sell them anywhere on property. Haven't seen them in my last few trips. The only place I remember seeing one is Pleasure Island some time ago. Does anyone know if and where Disney sells them at WDW?

I like to get a tea mug and a picture frame from each trip. My all time favourite is a pin that my son bought me. It's the shape of mickey's head with the Canadian flag on it. In Epcot they had them with all the country flags on them. It's my favourite.

ROTFLOL Thought I was the only one who did this. The kids love the blue, red and purple plasticware in their sack lunches on our return. We also bagged a bunch of plates, cups and napkins left over from our single birthday celebration at the Disney Club before they closed up shop. Kept us happy for a long time on special occasions.

I like to get the beautiful Christmas ornaments at the Christmas shop in DD, and have them personalized by the artist working. This year, we bought a wooden "frame" ornament and had it engraved. I can't wait to see it on the tree, with a photo of our Disney trip in it! (The others, we keep out year-round...).
I also like to get the posters they sell in the "art shop" at DD. I found one 2 weeks ago at the Belz Outlet, of the castle (which I had intentions of buying anyway!), for 50% off! Gotta love that!;)

I like those photographs you can get after some of the rides, like the Tower of Terror or the Test Track. I plan on getting some Lion King lithographs I saw at the Art of Disney store in Downtown Disney when I go back to Disney this December. I can't think of anything that I get on a regular basis every time I'm there.

We saw these a few weeks ago at the World of Disney @ DD! There were sooo many cute things for newlyweds! I just wish they had them when I got married! (a "fake" MM showed up at my wedding, though!! ;) And, my DH gave me a brick around the world during our reception!) So sweet, even though he can't stand WDW! :D

Well, I go a little nuts when I'm down in WDW.. I'm sure Mickey76 and I will spoil ourselves. Usually I get a sweatshirt, a couple shirts, pj pants, a stuffed animal, and other various things. I like to get something that I can use and still remember the trip.....like my sweat shirts......I love wearing them and remembering it's from WDW :) I can't wait to be there in 5 days with my honey......:D

Gee, I don't think I could pick just one thing that I brought back that makes me remember the fun we had in 1999. The "Millennium Celebration" CD and the "Official WDW Resort" CD's would probably top the list, along with the 150 or so photographs and the videos (which I've been meaning to get and out and look at again because I won't get to go to WDW this year).

I bought a t-shirt as my "treat" last time and i will let you know a money saving tip I use. When you buy t-shirts, as an adult, if you can wear a large or a medium, go to the kids section. You can buy a large or xlarge t-shirt in the kids section and save $5 or more. Same t-shirts.

Every trip I get a photo album, picture frame, and a couple of pins.
Last week, I got my fave souvie yet... by accident.
My sunglasses broke during our 2nd hour at MK(first day of our trip). I got the CUTEST sunglasses from the Emporium. They have blue lenses and a small Eeyore with a butterfly on his head in the left corner of the left lens. The are adorable and now every time I put them on ( almost every day while driving) I am reminded of Disney World!!

Silly question from a first-timer:
Are there any playing cards for sale with WDW pics on them? We're really not big on all the character stuff -- can get Mickey, etc. at local discount store!), but would rather enjoy WDW, Florida images on things. Will need some cards for the trip as we're camping, but would be just as happy to buy some special ones there.

The refillable mug I bought at the resort. Actually it is my 2 year old nephew's mug. I had one and he had one but one morning he decided that he liked mine better and cried for it! So we traded. Now I use it every morning for coffee and it reminds me of my great vacation and of my nephew.

Silhouette me and DH bought when we're on our honeymoon back in 97.
We made a point not to buy one every time we're in WDW. I would like to do one every 10 years instead. That would be really cool when we're 80 years old and have proofs to show how much fatter we grew each decade!

I love Disney Souvies! I collect almost anything with Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The Disney parks are the best place to find stuff with her on it! I love my pins; I always look at them and remember where and when I got them. I also love my princess coloring book and Fab 5 coloring sheets even though I'm 23!!! :D I also had to buy stickers for my scrapbook. There was even a set that had a roll of stickers for each park! I get Christmas ornaments, too. Especially in May 2002, I had to get a graduation Mickey ornament with the year on it because I just graduated from college!:D :earsgirl:

Just had to add to the long list since didn't see my favorite :)
We get the newest WDW cookbook each time we go, and several years ago got great pastel glass character glasses. It's fun when we get the disney blues or particularly bad weather to schedule a Disney meal, great recipes from the resort, one of the vacation propoganda videos and off we go to relive the great trips we've had!!!

We always head to the Christmas store at DD and pick up a souvenir ornament. Many of them can be personalized. It's so much fun at Christmas time when we trim the tree to remember past trips and dream about future ones.
DD(4) last year spent a good portion of her souvenir alotment on a set of 6 princess ornaments that come in a beautiful box that looks like a large book. She took a great deal of time placing each of her princess ornaments on the tree and then rearranging them.

vald1977 - you can get the cookbooks at TDS, or by calling the WDW Merchandising #. They are great! I've got a few, but it doesn't help me alot, since I don't cook! ;)
ilovebelle - I believe you can learn more about the countdown clock on the Technical Support board. If you don't see it there, let me know & I'll try to find my info. about it.
cottontail - I have seen fridge photo magnets at the Gourmet Pantry in DD. They are like a 3-D character, wrapped around "holding" a little frame. I'm not sure if this is the same ones the poster was discussing, but they are cute!

I always buy those pens or pencils with the Mickey silouette at the top :)
I got a "flying" Tinkerbelle Doll when I was 9 (can u tell Tink's my favourite character?)
I agree that pictures and videos are some of the best FREE souvenirs :)
I bought a silver and gold Mickey watch on my last trip
I always get at least one pressed penny
I also always get at least one ride photo :) (my Tower of Terror one is the funniest lol)
There are too many more to name

My Favs would be
Picture of me DD and DH in matching MM shirts and ears with MM.
A pink t-shirt with ALL the characters on it, very tacky but so much fun. DD has a matching one.
A MM hair scrunchy that has his head, arms and legs. It's cool having Mickey peek over the top of my head.
A MM antenna topper for my cell phone. Oh yea and my MM faceplate for for it too.
Millenium Celebration CD...it never fails to make me smile.

I LOVE my Millenium Celebration CD, I'm surprised it isn't worn out by now ;)
Does anyone know if Disney makes CD's of the instrumental music played in the parks? (Like the stuff you hear on Main Street, Epcot, MGM etc...) I would especially love a CD of all the music and songs played at Typhoon Lagoon. So does anyone know if they exist?

Just got back 24hours ago--everyone in the family has their own most memorable--
I thought carefully, but then found a selection of colored pencil sketches of Disney characters. Our hotel served "Mickey pancakes" each morning and fittingly I found a Mickey sketch serving Mickey pancakes. Their are many ready made character sketches to choose from (look carefully-- the same drawing may be done with various colors.) At certain times during the day the actual artists are there for custom orders. --The place I located was a shop on Sunset Blvd. at MGM studios.
My son and husband enjoyed collecting pressed pennies throughout the trip. So bring plenty of quarters and "shiny pennies"
We also purchased a few of the photos Disney takes of you while entering the parks.

I first discovered the make your own custom keychains using beads in the gift shops for Pirates of the Caribbean, then later in Disney Marketplace Kiosk (who will take time to put together Mickey's body). I couldn't resist creating keychains for fellow workers, family members etc. It became addicting. Very reasonable- $2 for basic keychain (which you culd really buy black nylon rope and keychain rings at craft store before you left) and the beads are .75 cents each for any size. All sorts of characters and letters. My husband finally asked..do you have to stop at each bead place?? I just noticed some carts had different selections.

On my most recent trip (5-02) I noticed that they have little albums to hold and display the pressed pennies. They were only about 5-7 dollars and I thought they were a great idea!

I collect mercury glass Christmas ornaments. My favorites are the Radkos. But 2 years ago I started collecting the Mickey bells and get a new color each year. I'm a sucker for anything with Donald Duck on it!!!
