The Hail Mary's: Hopeless Faith
Some of you might know this as the music that Corky was listening to in BOUND when she was painting. I love this stupid cd. It's the only great thing that my bad ex exposed me to musically....well, in fact it may be her best contribution period.

I have learned a new trick! I can rip songs from a CD and load them on an iPod. How cool am I? :cool2: (Shhh! Just let me live in my bubble.)
I have successfully ripped Counting Crows, 10,000 Maniacs, Peter Murphy, the parade music from "Share A Dream Come True", and one track from the IllumiNations pre-show. I am trying to pick which Smiths I want. I need to get my Rob Thomas and Blue October CDs out of the car.

I don't have any sort of a mp3 device. I don't download music either. Corey is all about loading her mp3 player with all sorts of stuff. We are audiophiles and have over 500 cds in our collection. Musically, we are all over the place. I think we have one of just representative of just about every possible genre. I seem to be stuck on stuff from the early 90's right now. Next into the old laptop is a group called Ellen James Society. They had some great music, but sadly the group broke up before they could get famous outside of Atlanta. I love the song Weapon in Your Bed.

Well, the thing is, DH won the iPod in a contest at work. We gave it to DS for his birthday in January. He got 2 iTunes gift cards to load songs on it. It is MAY and he hasn't touched it. Can't think of any songs he wants to put on it. Shows NO interest in it at all!
So I swiped it and started loading it with my music. :rolleyes1 If I buy a cord I can plug the iPod into the car and play the songs through the stereo. So far I have refrained from stealing the gift cards, but I might offer to buy them from DS. ;)

I have not thought of them in years!! And they kinda did find their way out, after all I was living in Erie PA when i heard them!
I am a big music junkie too! I got it from my dad. I used to work at a radio station so my collection is vast and varried. Lets just put it this way, i need the 80 gig ipod.
Right now it is all about Uh Huh Her

Right now? I'm listening to the cast album of Jason Robert Brown's "Songs for a New World". I just finished listening to the cast album of "Parade"; also composed by Jason Robert Brown - he's an amazingly talented young(ish) composer. He also wrote "The Last Five Years" and he's got a musical called "13" about to open on broadway.
A friend of ours who is an phenomenal performer did a cabaret of his works last week as part of the Orlando Cabaret Festival, so I've been listening to a lot of his stuff recently.
The same friend is doing her cabaret act at P-House tonight at 7pm, and I heartily recommend her to any locals who can make it. She's fantastic. Oh, and we also hit the "Twisted Sisters Karaoke Happy Hour" with her on Friday night at P-house. Those drag queens were HISTERICAL! We'll be going back for that again!

I have been in a music slump as of late, but when I do blast my car stereo it's to the sounds of Of Montreal, Brandi Carlile, or Dressy Bessy.

OK, I'm not much of a broadcast radio person ...in other words my car stereo system is an ipod with external speakers. Anyway I heard a song yesterday that I am hoping someone can help me ID....all I can remember was it was about a girl kissing a girl. I don't attempt to google it, I can imagine how many un-related hits I would get.

"I Kissed A Girl" jill sobule
Genny came over and told me 'bout Fred
" He's such a hairy behemoth, " she said
" Dumb as a box of hammers
But he's such a handsome guy. "
And I opened up and told her 'bout Larry
And yesterday how he asked me to marry
I'm not giving him an answer yet
I think I can do better
So we laughed
Compared notes
We had a drink, we had a smoke
She took off her over coat
I kissed a girl
So she called home to say she'd be late
He said he'd worried but now he feels safe
" I'm glad you're with your girlfriend, tell her hi for me "
So I looked at you, you had guilt in your eyes
But it only lasted a little while
And then I felt your hand above my knee
And we laughed at the world
They can have their diamonds
And we'll have our pearls
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl, her lips were sweet
She was just like kissing me
I kissed a girl, won't change the world
But I'm so glad I kissed a girl
And we laughed at the world
They can have their diamonds
And we'll have our pearls
I kissed a girl
For the first time
I kissed a girl
And I may do it again
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl her lips were sweet
She was just like kissing me
But better
I kissed a girl
Won't change the world
But I'm so glad
I kissed a girl
For the first time
I kissed a girl

I like the sound of her voice Tigg, but I don't like the lyrics at all. I guess I'm too much of an old school "d" to be comfortable with her message, especially the end clip of the video.
Thanks for sharing though. Always good to see what else is "out there."
