Sorry if this has been covered, I couldn't find anything....

My teen wants to know if she can go to some of the really cool looking pools at the other resorts. We will be staying at the Contemporary.

I told her I did not know if pool hopping was allowed, but I knew where to find out!

No, pool hopping is not allowed unless you are a DVC member or you are a sister reosrt (POFQ and POR or the All Stars).

No, you are only allowed to use the pool at the resort where you are staying:) Or the exceptions like Dopey Girl mentioned above LOL :D

Disney also offers three water parks that she might be interested in visiting.

How do they know if you're staying there, do they check ids? Years and years ago I used to go to the Contemp, Poly, and GF to go swimming and play around, and was planning on a character breakfast and then some swimming at the Cont. with my daughter. Is this not allowed?

Thanks!

Sorry but no it it not allowed. You must be a guest of the resort or as said above a sister resort like Allstar Music... Sports and Movies. As far as DVC members you need to be staying on site and be using your DVC points to be staying... Hope that helps.

So is the POFQ pool open even though the resort is closed? Or are the POR stayers limited to its pool? My son would love the dragon slide!:)

Make that TWO water parks. From all I've heard, River Country has bitten the dust--.
That's a good suggestion tho-Blizzard beach and Typhoon lagoon are fun spots.

Disney has started checking IDs at popular pools just to reduce this problem.

My impression was that River Country would re-open this summer. It is always closed in the winter. (I don't think it is heated!)

I've not been able to confirm the closing. But in the Annual Report to stockholders, they mention Disney's TWO water parks. And same thing in our DVC newsletter..they encourage buying passess to the TWO water parks.
Not a good sign---.

Hi mjenni27,

It is my understanding that the entire POFQ side is closed. That would include the pool. When/If they open POFQ again then the pool would reopen.

Hope this helps.
