well, one thing i do is put toothpaste on it

yes i know it sounds insane, but if you have a good toothpaste (colgate=the best), and you put a dab on it really works. it only works on some zits for some reason---if its burning its working- FAST! its incredible. wash it off either after five minutes or whenever the burning stops.

Umm... there's a lot of different products, and they don't all work for everybody, some people use Proactiv because it works, but for some people it doesn't. It's different for everyones skin.
I use Neutrogena sometimes, and this other stuff.
But I don't get a lot.
To try and prevent them, wash all the make-up off your face when you go to bed, and wash your face after you eat.
If you're sweaty, take a shower and change into different clothes.
But once you get rid of the ones you have now, they wont stay gone forever, and it takes a few days for them to go away too.
Just cover them up with make up if you have to.

Any kind of face cleanser I guess.
Do you wash your face regularly?
Do you wear too much make up?

I started getting zits when I was 12. They started on my forehead then moved more to my cheeks. Thankfully they seem to only come around now when I am about to get my period. Wash your face every day and put medication on the zits when you get them. I like on the spot acne treatment by Neutrogena. Someone above mentioned Proactiv. I used it but it didn't really work because my skin has bad allergies to benzyl peroxide, which is the main acne fighting ingredient. Every acne product I use I just have to use a small amount or my face gets itchy and red.

Good luck, I know how much it truly sucks!

I started getting bad acne when I was 11.

Try proactiv, it seems to work okay for me. There is no miracle cure, be prepared to deal with it for at least 2-5 years, maybe longer. Ortho Tri cyclen worked really good for clearing my face, but it made me an emotional wreck.

Everyday Minerals is a great makeup that won't make you break out (at least it doesn't make me break out, and pretty much all other makeups do). You can get a free trial sent to you. It covers REALLY well, and it looks so natural.

Just to let you know, you don't get acne because you're dirty, you can't really do anything about it. Washing your face too much can actually give you more acne. I'm not saying that you shouldn't wash your face, it just makes me kind of mad when people think you get acne because you're dirty, because last year people thought I had acne because I was dirty (I suggest washing your face twice a day though). I was not in the least bit unhygenic :sad2: .

If you just started getting zits then you probably don't have any zit products.
To get rid of them for now use toothpaste like the others said. If the toothpaste is gel it won't work, it needs to be paste.
If you have an oily face then that's probably what's causing them. I recommend washing your face every morning and night and applying moisturizer after each wash because washing your face takes away almost all of the oil so your face is like "holy crap where's the oil?!" and it becomes oily again, so moisturizing stops this process by a lot.
If you want the zits gone really fast then a spot treatments works good.
try your best to not pop them. This increases the risk of scarring and it makes more zits pop up in that area, but if you must, clean the area, pop, clean it again.

Yeah, acne starts from underneath and skin, parts that you cannot control by cleaning. It does help to wash no more than twice a day and use a topical product.

Neutrogena works well for me. I use their face cream, astringent, and body wash when I break out. I also have a facial moisturizer that is just plain amazing, IMO.

I've had persistent acne since sixth grade, and only prescription medications from my dermatologist works.

But since you just started getting them, they're probably not severe. Just use benzoyl-peroxide wash and a spot treatment, they're both in drugstores. If you're really self-concious, you can dab on some concealer or foundation before school.

I also found a make-up that actually clears up my skin, Bare Minerals (the original one from Bare Escentuals). When I use this make-up my face it actually clear the next day. It's kind of expensive (about $60 for the entire starter kit at Sephora) but I think it's worth it. And it hides any pimples really well, if you get self concious about it.

Well I clean my face with Clean & Clear Oxygenation FACIAL SCRUB. Then I use during the night because this may cause redness depending on how sensentive your skin is: AcneFree: TERMINATOR 10, this removes acne and blackheads. LOL I'm looking at the bottles so this may not be the right name.

Try a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide twice a day. Use enough to cover the whole area.
Neutrogena has always worked best for me. I tried Proactiv and it didn't work but it really depends on the pesron.

Same
I also hate it when people tell me it's because i eat too much crap. If that were true than i'd be one of the least spotty!
I'm on the strongest cream they can prescribe plus tablets. Not working. The tablets are useless and the cream has burnt my face raw.

I've had a few creams do that to me. My mum made me carry on using them and i had dry and peeling skin all over my face. The burning stopped after awhile but it was incredibly painful and it restricted facial expressions and jaw movement.
