help i have no idea how you guys make shirts???? i really wanted to do somthing for a suprise for my family but dont even know where to begin. Also when making the journals and autograph paper and such do u use your own printers?? :idea: Do you think my 3 year old is to young for a journal? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is a sticky at the top, that gives directions on how to make t-shirts.

In a nutshell.. buy some transfer paper, print, follow directions, and iron on.

I use my own printer for the journals, but I know some do not. I also splurged and bought my own binding machine from staples. I decided.. that if I am doing this yearly.. it will pay for itself in no time. So, I never leave the house to make the journals and activity books.

i think three is a wonderful age for a journal. It will be fun to look back and read those memories years from now.

I had my shirts done at a shop in the mall with a design I saw here. The guy at the shop pulled up the design from the link I gave him and he did all the printing and centering and ironing for me. Worked like a charm! :)

Binding machine? This sounds interesting! How much did this run? What kind of a printer do you have?

The binder I got was $60. It uses the plastic binds. I prefer the metal ones, but, for that price, I can deal with plastic. The version I got will only go up to a 1/2 inch thick.. but, I never go more than that. I purchased it from staples.com (through sunshine rewards, of course!). The combs (binding) were $4 for a box. There were 100 in the 1/4" binding box, and 25 in the 1/2" binding box. You can buy the plastic covers as well, but I just laminated my front and back covers.

I figured, that three boys.. one journal and one activity book per vacation.. that's $30 at Kinko's.. so, in two vacations, this will be paid for.

I just have an HP printer. Nothing terribly fancy. But, it does photos and graphics quite nicely.
