Hi everyone,

I am new to the boards and this will be my first time to Disney World. My husband and I will be going in late September for our 5th wedding anniversary. I have a couple of questions about Micky's not so scary Halloween party. What is it exactly? How did you like it? Also I am 26 and my husband is 31 would it be good for us to do or is it more for children and families?

Thank you :)

Bella

I'm 55 & DH is 54. Just got our tickets for this October's Party. It is awesome - not just for kids - the parade and fireworks are worth the extra cost alone. The characters are all in Halloween costumes and the Villian show in front of the castle is great. Make sure you have lots of film and/or an empty memory stick for your digital camera, you'll be snapping away like crazy. Most of the all the rides are open and since they only sell so many tickets for each night the lines aren't bad at all. Check out the pictures and the review from last years party on the DIS. Go - you'll love it :thumbsup2

MNSSHP is a good time...it consists of special events such as:
A Halloween parade(Boo To You), characters are dressed up in costumes...the parade was great!
Different version of Wishes fireworks...called Hallowishes.
When you enter the Magic Kingdom, you'll be given a trick-or-treat bag and you go trick-or-treating throughout the park at 'X' marked locations, chocolates, candy is given out.
At the park entrance, it is smokey, eery atmosphere(but not so scary!) with Halloween decor...all done in a Disney Fashion of course.
The park itself has Halloween decor throughout...very cool. Take plenty pics.
You'll notice plenty of kids and also adults dressed up in costumes!
There is a show in front of the castle, but unfortunatly, I missed it.
And of course the park is open for extra magic hours which is at least midnight.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure I may have forgotten some other piece of info.
Hope you have a good time!

You can order on the WDW website. Just look for Tickets - Special events. There are discounts available to APs and DVC members for certain nights.

I found this website:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/specialEvents?id=MickeysNotSoScaryHalloweenPartySp ecialEventPage

It says to call (407) W-DISNEY for tickets and information, with no option to buy online (unless it's somewhere else...?)

I'd still like to know if it can be attached to our reservation, and will be part of our package that they send.

As far as I am aware, you will need to pre-purchase these tickets so they cannot be added to your WDW package. The tickets are charged to your credit card once your order is confirmed when you call, and they will be shipped to you by Fed-Ex. It took a few days for mine to arrive. You'll need to bring the tickets (which are plastic cards) with you, and exchange them on the evening of the party for a wristband that you will wear all night.

According to others, I believe that online ticket purchases should start in a couple of weeks. Phone orders started a week ago.

You're very welcome, Bella. I bought my tickets on the second day they were on sale. There are a limited number of tickets available for each night of MNSSHP, and if the date is not already sold out, you can buy tickets on-site the day of the party. However, there are popular dates that will sell out quickly like Halloween. Some folks have posted in other threads that they were able to get tickets 2 weeks prior to their trip, but I guess it's really up to you. My sis and I decided that we wanted to go to MNSSHP so I didn't wait too long to get the tickets. We've also got tickets to La Nouba (Cirque du Soleil) for our trip. Nearly all of our plans are made, including ADRs so now I'm just anxiously counting down the days and trying to figure out what I'll wear for my costume. Have a fabulous trip!

Df is 64 and I am 49 and we LOVE MNSSHP. Last year was our first year (I have done MVMCP twice before) and we wouldn't miss it. When I asked him if he wanted to do it again, it was an enthusiastic 'oh, yes! Let's do!'

We have no kids and while we will someday take our children, we're enjoying it as a couple in so many wonderful ways! Go and enjoy!

btw, our trip last year was pretty last minute and we were able to get tickets about a month before we went. If I was set on going, I'd buy them now...but you can wait a while I guess. I'm an OC planner so I do everything NOW!

I was wondering how many adults wear costumes? my DBF wants to wear a costume but I am not sure. I don't want to look silly walking around MK in a costume but it could be fun if others were doing it. I got our tickets in the mail yesterday and I am so excited I can't wait until October. Thanks in advance for the info.

You will most likely feel out of place not wearing a costume. Atleast go to the CreativeDIS thread and see if you can't make your own t-shirts to wear! MNSSHP is amazing! My 57 yr old mother was literally running as fast as she could to each candy station! http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p123/rebecca06261/scan0001.jpg

sorry for the pic size! I didn't take the time to resize!

Oh! So the adults without children are welcome to go Trick or Treating for Candy as well? This is just getting better and better! :thumbsup2

I've bought our tickets for 9/16, :)

Brewmeister, you're going the same night as I am. Maybe I'll see you there... I'll have the LGMH tag on my purse... or maybe I'll just make that my Halloween costume... I could go as a DISer! :thumbsup2

We'll keep an eye out for that, Rebecca! :) And for your tag as well, Care!

I have no idea what we will be wearing yet. My best costume is a Pirate outfit, but the coat is lined and made of a heavy upholstery fabric, and can double as a winter coat here in the PNW. I don't think that I want to wear it in the Florida heat. :rotfl2:

Who knows.....maybe I'll have to make a new costume specifically for the party! It will possibly be something Victorian and Steampunk-ish as that is my current costuming direction.

My DS is 8 and we've been to MNSSHP 3 times and going back again this year! It's so much fun and neither of us are into "trick or treating" (not that you can tell by looking at us! :rotfl2: ) so we take advantage of the ride lines being nonexistent. :woohoo:

My dear friend took me on Splash Mountain :scared1: for the first time ever and we WALKED right on... it was the same for many of the other rides. :goodvibes

There were many adults without kids, that had as much or more fun than we did! Many do dress up... I didn't. My son was a Hippie... but slightly challenged in making the PEACE sign as you can see in this picture... :lmao:

My family and I went last Sept. There were16 of us. Only 2 adults did NOT dress up. We had Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swan, Mulan, Princess Jasmin, Esmrelda, 2 Tinkerbells, Peter Pan, Malifacint, 2 woodland faries, a cheerleader and a black cat. I was the Fairy God Mother. I was nearly mobbed by all the little princesses:goodvibes I guess I really looked the part!:rotfl: I had to wait until several princesses left the bathroom so I could take my costume off-I was sooo hot! I mean temp.wise.:rolleyes1 I made the Jack Sparrow, Mulan, Princess Jasmin, Esmerlda and my costume. We had a ball, and I would diffiantly do it again!Any way, go, dress up and have fun! You will be so glad you did.

I loved this back in 2003. My best friend and I took a trip together back then - both adults in our thirties...and we had a blast looking at all the costumes and gathering candy :)

I had my fortune read and rode the Haunted Mansion ride a few times. It was hot out so I skipped wearing a costume and opted for shorts and a tee but really wished I had picked a lightweight costume instead.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the steamboat ride with the music and stories...It took forever, was extremely crowded and I was unable to hear the stories for a good majority of the cruise. I feel like I missed valuable time walking the park and having a good time because I was stuck on the boat and not able to enjoy the experience that others on the boat could enjoy.

Other than that.....super fun time!!!

Well it looks like many adults dress up so my DBF will be happy. I guess I need to start thinking of costumes. Do people go with Disney or non-Disney costumes. I had thought of snow white but might feel strange being dressed up as Snow White when the "real one" would be in the park aswell. Any ideas for easy costumes that are good for the Florida heat. I can't wait until October when I get to see my DBF again.

JC and I will be there 9/16-9/22 and were thinking about going to the Halloween Party...now that we see so many people go to it!

Would you go to La Nouba or MNSSHP?!

Little pricey to do both, so we're trying to figure out what is more fun. We would love to see the Villians, since they're not always out... but La Nouba seems fun and we've said for a few years that we wanted to check it out.
