I'm really enjoying doing some names in Word, but there's more that I would like to be able to do. I'm not too confident that there are any free programs out there, but figured I would ask.:confused3 TIA!

Thanks for the link. I downloaded Paint.net, but I'm having a really hard time trying to figure it out. Maybe I'll try gimp.

Keep at it. It really isn't too complicated. work in layers. the more you use it, the easier it gets, which is the case with all programs. Even DH can manage paint.NET.. :thumbsup2

well, every time you want to slightly change something, or add clip art..

add a layer. then, add it.

Then, if you change your mind.. just take the layer off. It makes editing a bit easier, and more forgiving.

Again, the more you do it, the easier it becomes, and makes more sense.

My first major project with paint.NET was to take a color photo, and then make only part of it in color (my son, for example), and the rest in black and white (his surroundings). This really introduced me to the value of layers.

I'll have to try that. Thank you!

yes, definitely work in layers. It's SO much easier editing it.
