Hey just wanted to say I appreciate the brutal honesty of your reviews. I've always wanted to try a Disney Cruise but might reconsider now. Lots of people here see Disney through rose-colored glasses and I think aren't always really honest with themselves, so I like your approach! :thumbsup2

Thanks PrincessShea......i totally expected to be blown away by DCL and want to rebook while we were on board! I just couldn't believe the "service" we got! I know we were only on board for 3 nights, but each time we were in the dining room for a meal, we would already be on the 2nd or 3rd course before the waiter would ask if we wanted anything to drink!?!?!? On RCCL and yes even Carnival, the waiter knew what we wanted after the 1st night and always had either a coke or milk available when we sat down, and then would ask if we wanted an alcoholic beverage. The 1st night, our 6 yr old order the childrens pizza, and somewhere along the lines there was a miscommunvation somehow and she was the LAST ONE SERVED!!! That IMO is totally unacceptable! DIsney should know that children are the 1st ones to eat! And it was obvious that the childrens staff just didnt' mess well with ANY of the 9 children we had on board. I could see maybe 1 or 2 not wanting to be there, but all 9? And from 3 differnt families?? Nope...they just didn't want to engage them. I think those beepers give them free reign to get rid of the kids!! They don't even bother to try and entertain them!

Because the cruise was so short, we didn't partake of any of the dance clubs and stuff like that, but i can say that reading the navigator each day, nothing jumped out at me that i wanted to do. :confused3 I would be willing to give DCL a try again on a longer cruise, if they would drop their price!! No way will i pay $5000+ to go have crappy service!

Jennifer I am amazed that your service sucked so bad. I have always been throughly impressed with DCL servers in the dining room. I hope you complained!

I was going to say the same. Our cruise couldn't have been more different and we were totally blown away by the service and just about everything on our cruise. Our servers were absolutely brilliant especially with the children and my boys loved the kids clubs, we were very impressed.

Its such a shame you didn't get the experience that 99.9% of Disney cruisers have been fortunate enough to get.

That is weird..our drink servers knew my mom drank decaf coffee and had it already on the table the 2nd night. We had our dining crew for both the 4 day and 3 day..but we ordered a wine package the day we boarded and that night..before the waiter even knew us, he had our wine chilling at the table.

I think you need to try another DCL cruise..you did not get their regular service!!

well there's always got to be someone who gets the crappy service. I know that not all of DCL will be like that, but it's hard to stomach the cost of another DCL cruise considering the service we had. And yes, we did complain very much so on the comment card.

well i guess i'll start my TR....i can't say how great it'll be without all my pictures.

Friday December 4th -

I left work at 1pm, went home and finished up the last of the packing, repacked our overnight bag for the hotel and went over all of my check lists. i was feeling like i had it all under control! Picked the kids up at 430 then went to get Joe and we were on the road for Indy by 515pm! Stopped for dinner at Wendy's and got to the hotel about 830pm. Wake up call was set for 4am as we had to catch the shuttle at 5am!

Saturday December 5th - WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY!!!! ::cheer2:

I had a few adorable pictures of the kids at breakfast about 445am dressed in their matching Disney shirts and new Jackets....and of course...LOST!! (Do i still sound bitter about my camera??) Caught the bus, made it to the airport and we had already checked in last night before we left home and paid our luggage fee. But we had to check the carseats so we still had to go inside and wait in line. I was carrying my dress with me, plus the kids 2 little carryon suitcases.

Flight left ontime at 7am and we landed shortly after 915am!! WOO HOOO WE"VE ARRIVED!!! 1st conflict of the trip.....I told Joe to go down and pick up the rental car since he would be primary driver, while Melissa (BFF) and I got the luggage rounded up. Remember this in a few minutes. He didn't want to do it, said it wasn't a good idea to seperate and it's not like we were behind schedule or anything. So fine, we wait for luggage (that's the worst part of not taking ME) and then we head out to the car rental counter, Avis. I got an awesome rate for a full size for 8 days for $300! Said we would get an Impala or similiar.....we have a Ford 500 and I fit just fine inthe back with 2 car seats so i knew am Impala would be fine. Find the car rental counter and tell Melissa to stay with the kids and luggage while Joe and I go get the car. We head to the counter and the rep says married couples are automoatically co-renters, so Joe goes back with the kids and plops his *** in a chair. REMEMBER THIS!!! So i go thru the stupid insurance speil, and he asks me if I want to upgrade to the SUV for $40 a day....um NO!!! Fine...he gives me a Chevy Malibu, choice of red or silver. Ummm....is a Malibu a full size?? Sure he says....i have no idea so i take him at his word. Grab the family and off we go to get the car....walk to the car and Joe immedialty starts throwing a fit about the car not being right. A-HOLE if you had stayed with me like i told you to, this wouldn't have happened!! Who spent his ENTIRE LIFE studying every dang model of car known to mankind??? Certainly not me! I can't tell the difference between a peuget and a porsce! So after trying to stuff a weeks worth of luggage for 5 people into the trunk, it just ain't happening. So we go back to the counter and complain about the car....or rather i should say I go back....again, Joe didn't do a damn thing. Am i forshadowing the weeks events???? The woman at the counter was trying to conince me that the Malibu was a full size......20 minutes we bickered back and forth! I was this close to spending the $40 upgrade for the SUV just to get out of there when finally an Impala was returned....and we got it. Totally fits just fine, no issue. So we finally leave the airport....would you take a guess as to what time it was??? 11:45am!! 2-1/2 hours wasted at the airport! I was so bummed! So we skipped the walmart stop and went straight to Ft Wildereness!!!

I was sure to document our trip under THE SIGN.....luckily Melissa did too!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa246.jpg

I have to say that we were really impressed with how easy it was to get around and how clearly the signs and directions were marked. The only concern was the sign would say Turn Here for Magic Kingdom...and the turn was literally 25 feet behind the sign! :confused3 We missed a turn just 1 time the whole trip

We arrive at Ft Wilderness......

Guard shack.....you actually have to insert your Ft Wilderness room key to get in....is it like that for all the resorts??

I went into the reception outpost to check us in, there was a hand sanitizer dispenser when we walked in. 2 windows open, and just a small wait. there was a tree next to the fireplace and a small kids area off to the side for them to relax while we checked in. I asked about our boxes, and they had them already set for us in Luggage dept! YAY!!

Our Cabin was in the 2600 loop

I have to say we LOVED Ft Wilderness! It was so perfect for us....the cabin was great. Very roomy and we never felt cramped or stepping on each other....espically with the extra non-family adult in our party. The Full sized kitchen could have been utilized more during a longer trip, but the refridgeator and coffee maker were wonderful. we used the microwave to warm up muffins and croissants for breakfast that we would buy the night before. The only thing it could have used was a washing machine...but oh well.

(these are pics Melissa took later in the week, i took LOTS of pics when we arrived....I just have to stop bringing up painful memories)

It was now 1230pm and we hadn't eaten since a quick bowl of cereal in Indy at 430am. If we didn't feed the kids soon, it was going to get really ugly! So the plan was to head to Epcot and eat ASAP! First we had to stop and get the boxes and stroller from luggage services, there wasn't enought room to get them when we checked in.

so we go back to Reception, grab the boxes, but the stroller isn't there!?!?! WHAT?!?!? So i call the compay we rented from, A Baby's Best Friend. Their contract says they have until 6pm to deliver the stroller! UGH! I'm not waiting that long, we're all tired and hungry, it'll be ok with the stroller. So we head out to EPCOT!

Saturday Dec 5 - part 2, EPCOT

So without our stroller, we hop in the car and head over to Epcot.

we were suprised at how close we got to the front...it was no more than a 5 minute walk from teh car to the gate....but Melissa didn't want to walk it. UGH!! :confused3 Why wait for the damn tram to fill up when you can walk and be there before the tram even leaves?!?!?! Whatever, so we wait for the trap.

We're in!! And the 1st thing we do is RUN to Sunshine seasons for food! It's not Joe's favourite place, in fact, he kinda hates it. But Electric Umbrella is just burgers and i didn't want to head all the way into World Showcase to eat. Joey was already throwing a fit.

Before we get to food, let me tell you about my BFF Melissa. Melissa and I met in 7th grade when we were in band, then on the yearbook staff. We've been best friends since. Our high school marching band went to Disney Music Days our Freshman and Senior years.....that's the only time she's ever been. We were seniors in 1994.....all we saw was MK and Epcot. I thought she was paying attenition to what i was saying the past 18 months about the trip, but i guess she wasn't. either that or you just really have to KNOW what's going on to be able to understand. Joe has always said that he's just along for the ride when we go to Disney, he hardly knows where we stay. Amyway, i think i explained the DDP to her at every meal. And Sunshine Seasons was NOT the best place to start. UGH! We walk from the bakery section and head all the way down, checking out the choices. Jackie got the kids chicken and mashed potatoes meal. I knew i was getting the roasted chicked and potatoes. Very filling and i could share with the kids if I needed to. Joe had the Mongolian beef, and Melissa had the Cashew Chicken. I only got 1 kids meal, knowing neither of them would eat a full one, and i wanted to try and save a few credits. i was right, as Joey started his MAJOR hissy fit! OMG he was screaming and kicking and he came really damn close tothrowing a tray of food on the floor. It was totally our fault, we should have just stopped at a McDonalds on the freeway before we got to WDW. He was tired and hungry and was now surrounded by 35000 other tired hungry people. I was a bad mom......i allowed him to be calmed down by eating a chocolate chip brownie. :rolleyes1 I know....super bad......but it calmed him down and i was totally OK with buying him a hotdog or pretzel or whatever as soon as we walked out of Sunshine Seasons, just if he would shut up and stop crying. 4 meals at Sunshine seasons for lunch came to $49.76! YIKES I love the DDP!

Even thought he had stopped crying, Joey was still not cooperating with anything. He didn't want to go on the boat ride at Living With the Land. So we left the Land and headed over to Living Seas to do Nemo that i knew he would enjoy. He was fine until had to wait....and it really wasn't even waiting! All we did was slowly walk thru the queue. But he just wanted to be carried. He was fine as soon as we got on the ride and actually relaxed and enjoyed himself! YAY It's gonna be a good day!!

Head off Nemo and go to walk around the Seas and look in the aquariums. Then we went in to Turtle Talk w Crush. i LOVE this attraction! I can't figure out how it's done! and the kids LOVE crush....DUDE he's totally awesome!

Knowing that we were going to be back in a few days for Dinner at Coral Reef, we didnt' linger. And we have an early ADR at Akershus too, so we'll be doing FW later in the week too, so we headed out to World Showcase. But 1st, we had to get a stroller......Joey was demanding to be carried. I couldn't blame him...he'd been awake about 12hrs and was in no mood for walking. So i had to run back to the front of the park and spend $31 friggin dollars to rent a double stroller! I was so pissed off!!

We decided to start at Canada and begin our Drink Around the World foray!! Pull out my list and see what we can find in Canada....ummm......a beer cart. yeah, no one wasnt't any canadian beer, so we continued on to UK. On the way, this guy just totally slams into Joe! He looks at him and says "We have to stop meeting like this!" I'm like OH **** some drunk *** fool is going to ruin my 1st day of Vacation!! then Joe starts laughing! I finally look up and about DIED!! Standing in front of us is a guy the Joe used to work with when we 1st got married!! HOW WEIRD!! Now the freaky part.......When we were here in December 2005 before Joey was born....we ran into this exact same guy!! At Festival of the Lion King!! It was kinda funny...we chatted for a few minutes then hurried on. The weather was....eh....not great but not horrible. It definately wasn't sunny, but we weren't getting rained on either. But it was rather chilly, we all had our sweatshirts still on. So no drinks in Canada....I knew we'd find something in UK! 1st we came to the beer cart, but i can't stand beer. it's gross. I knew that i wanted to try the Welsh Dragon i'd read about and would have to go into the Rose and Crown pub to get it. So off i go........looking at the menu i decided against the welsh dragon and instead got the Magical Star that comes with the glow cube. :dance3: Oh it was YUMMY!! Melissa got an English Rose, and we got Joe the Stella Aromis....a semi-dark english beer. We were all good to go now!!

After drinks we see Mary Poppins, our 1st character of the trip. Jackie pops out of the stroller so fast she almost tipped it over. :rotfl: She grabs her autograph book and runs to wait in line. (i've discovered why we can never get as much done in parks as other people....we spend 1/2 the damn day waiting for autogrpahs!)

As we head over the bridge from UK to France....i discover my drink is already gone. Dang it was good...i could use one now! In France we see the Beast! YAY I've never seen any of the "guys" out except Aladdin! And there was a Photopass guy there too! :yay:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa269.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa272.jpg

The only sad part was that Beast doesn't sign....you'll only get his autograph if Belle is with him and she'll sign for him. Oh well....we walk on.

We're slowly making our way around World Showcase, not really looking at anything, just walking and observing. Joe got a Sam Adams in American Adventure, and we got the kids a pretzel. Heading towards Italy i decided to try a Bellini...oh that was yummy!! But it was much colder now and i spilled half of it on my coat sleeve and i was now cold and wet.... :lmao: it only took me 1 drink....I so could never make it all the way around! :lmao:

In the Outpost Jackie found a face painting kiosk and went bonkers.....she had her face painted in AK on our trip in 2005 and then again in MK on our trip last year. it was all she talked about during the planning process...she had to get her face painted. So here is Princess Kitty.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa278.jpg

We continue around and finally hit Norway and Maelstrom. Yay the kids are happy that it's time for rides again! And Joey was happy to see Polar Bears and the troll. Then it's off to Mexico and Donald's Gran Fiesta Tour.....again....a happy little boy. We've now made it all the way around World Showcase and we didnt' get to look in any of the stores or stop at any kidcot stops, we didn't see the chinese acrobats or the Japanese Candy maker, we didn't see the tin toys or the model railroad. We saw Mary Poppins and the Beast, and we had alcohol. In the short amount of time it took us to walk around world showcase, i've decided that what I wanted to do in Epcot, did not necissarly mesh with what the kids would enjoy doing....or my husband for that matter. So my basic touring plan flew out the window and it was now a whatever you want to do kind of trip. One of these years i'll get what i want.

It's now about 5pm and we're trying to decide if we want to stay longer or head back to the resort. I'm all for heading back,......it's been a long day and it a bit chillier than we expected, the kids are gonna get cold as soon as the sun sets. But the consesnus was to stay a bit longer, the kids were happy. Joey wanted to ride the golf ball. :rotfl: So now we have to figure out dinner. I pull out my planning kit and flip to the chart that lists all the counter service restaurants in Epcot. It was a choice between China and Mexico...but Melissa and Joe both had kind of chineese for lunch, so we head to Mexico, La Cantina.

We all got the same thing, the combination platter and churro's for dessert. Jackie got chicken nuggets and Joey shared off her.....dinner came to $65.79!

After dinner it was time for Joey to ride the golf ball. so we headed back up to the front.

it was really fun and the kids liked it.....it's now a favourite!

I'd been texting back and forth with Cam and she was on her way to Epcot so we could do a quick meet.....so to wait for her we headed over to Character Connection.

Cam was waiting for us when we got outside. it was so great to finally meet her!! She and Howard had just gotten off the Magic and were telling us all about Nessa's wedding!! We had a quick little talk, then she snapped a pic and off we went. Headed back to the resort, and got 2 tired kids into bed.....it was about 830pm. We had an ADR at 1900 Park Fare at 8am the next morning, then a full day at Magic Kingdom.....um...with the parade concert taping. YIKES! How would our day turn out???

Your Epcot pictures are gorgeous; I really think that Epcot offers the best backdrops for photos although I am partial. The photos of the two of you together at the end are so romantic and the ones in Italy are very beautiful. I think the ones of you by yourself in Morocco are really gorgeous!

I'm glad you were able to get some photos from other people. We have stayed in the cabins before and really liked it. There is a lot cool things to do at the resort too; we've done the horseback riding and the hay rides there too. The face painting was super cute!

Thanks Vanessa, yes we loved the cabins! They were perfect and I think we'll be there again!!

i LOVED our Epcot Shoot! I think our Morrocco pics are awesome! I was kinda bummed, i'm not impressed with teh Japan shots and i really wanted those to be good, but it's ok as i wasn't expecting Morocco at all! But i did want UK and forgot about those too! I had so much stuff running thru my mind that i just forgot it all!

Your Epcot pics came out stunning!

I totally hear you on the autograph thing -- ever since DD got interested in getting character autographs we seem to spend an inordinate amount of time waiting in line for them!

Hi
First let me say I feel sad about your camera of all the trips ( don't get me wrong any trip is a trip you don't want to loose / or get stolen camera ) really on your vows renewal trip ...
reading your TR is tempting me with tryaing cabins also ..
Iknow what you means by exlaining ahead of times ( in your case your best friend ) about how disney or DDP works :confused3...I did the same last year with my grand gathering trip and what do you know ounce in wdw nobody knew how it work...grrr....
I'm in :surfweb:for the whole TR .

My first trip to WDW, we stayed at Ft. Wilderness (in our camper) in 1978 for my 3rd birthday! Then we stayed at the cabins (like you had) in 1987. I was 11 and my best friend and I LOVED the bunk beds.

It was so cool to see your pics and walk down memory lane. I  FW!

Hi Jennifer,
I know I told you on FB but I just love your Epcot wedding pics. they are just gorgeous! Sorry about your rental car problem and your cabin at FW looks nice and spacious. I think we are at HS the evening you were in Epcot. We got rained out that morning and also Friday night. So we had to see Osborne lights. Anyway we were in MK all day on Sunday. Duhhh I should have exchange numbers with you :sad2: and we could have had a quick meet at least. Anyway sorry you were not thrilled with DCL or your VR. Your hair does look pretty but not much like the photo you posted. Looking forward to more popcorn::

I feel like we were on totally different cruise lines. We had excellent service the entire trip. Our dining servers knew what we like to drink and even had it waiting for us at times. Our kids loved the kids club, and the only time we got paged was when we were in Palo's - but they were tired and it had been a super long day. We watched the counselors playing with them on several occasions.

We loved our cruise and can't wait to go on another one. I'm sorry you guys had a crummy time. We have had several trips to the World like that. I guess it depends on who is working and their attitudes.

I love the pics with the characters. Your kids are too stinkin' cute.:cutie:

I know, it's crazy....and I think it bothers me so much more because i know that Disney should be like that!! DCL should have been WONDERFUL!!

Nichole - ugh i didn't realize you were in MK on Sunday!! We so should have met up!

I should be able to get another portion up this weekend hopefully, i'm back to teaching 2x a week plus my regular job....so "spare" time is severely limited!

Tanya, That is how I felt...Like Jennifer got on the wrong ship or something. DCL has always beaten out any other cruise line I have ever been on!

We can't wait to hear more though Jennifer!!!

Hey Jen,

WOW your Epcot pics are stunning, I wish we had done an Epcot shoot. I am sorry too that things didn’t work out better on the cruise, with all the problems we had pre cruise I had imagined our trip to be as you have described (if that makes sense). I have a theory could be completely off base but though I would share it with you.

We actually had an incredible time on the cruise week 1 and decided to stay on board for an extra week. But we noticed a marked difference & drop in service levels (from just our drinks & table server not the head server) on the 2nd week. Difference was week 1 we had a big group of 10 adults and second week it was just us, and as cynical as it sounds we put this down to TIP. How many people did you have in your party?

In the first week both guys were fantastic, they had our drinks waiting for us at the table, wine list ready to go, etc. They also loved all the attention they got from the other servers & staff as most of the crew knew of the big Aussie wedding family onboard and you could tell they got a real buzz out of the whole thing. Second week was quite different; you could tell they were focused on their other tables, especially the drink server. We waited a long time for second drinks or I would finally get a cup of tea & then wait for another 15 minutes to get milk:headache:

It was very interesting to see & experience such vast differences in service levels and it did make me wonder though if all the servers adjusted their service according to the size of the group (and the TIP they could expect!)

There were 18 of us.....and i can't be sure, but i think we were his only tables....we had the whole section to ourselves. I'm sorry you had a bad time too, but atleast i know now that it's not just me.

I have always had great service on DCL..the first cruise we were joined was with both Cat 1's so I thought that might make a difference in the great service..but our second cruise it was just my mom, DD and I..we had a table with just the 3 of us for a week and our head waiter, waiter and drink server were so awesome..made DD napkin mice, hats ect ..

this last cruise we sailed with both Cat 1's again and while I didn't have a problem, the 2 guys did ask the head server to try to keep us all on the same schedule (one table would get food while the other sat and waited)

Sunday December 6th

It took a bit of work to drag my tired butt out of bed this morning, even knowing we were at WDW and heading off to MK for the day...yesterday was just soooo long and tiring. I was worried that the kids were going to be super grumpy all day!

The alarm went off at 6am and i hit snooze...bad i know. But i only hit it once and was up and getting ready at 615am. Got Joe up and in the shower then went into the kitchen to wake up Melissa and get the coffee started. The tiny little pot in the cabin was good enought for 1 cup for each of us. I straighted out the cabin a bit and waited until the last possible moment before waking up the kids. Our ADR was for 8am at 1900 Park Fare and since we had never driven to a resort and parked, i wanted to make sure we had plenty of time. So i got them up at 7am, dressed them while they were still half asleep, and we all piled back into our lovely rental car and were on the road to the Grand Floridian by 730am.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa313.jpg

YAY got a perfect Monorail shot!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa314.jpg

It was a bit chilly this morning, Jackie had her Alice in Wonderland dress on, and I was wearing my new Cheshire Cat skirt, so we were a bit chilly! Luckily we had our bigger stroller now, and we still had the blanket we bought the night before from Epcot to snuggle under. Joe dropped us off at the front door and went to park the car.

Normally Joey is not one to sit and pose for pictures for me, so i was pretty happy we got these few cute ones!

Jackie on the other hand....LOVES to pose for pictures!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa322.jpg

We go inside and it's still about 15 minutes before the restaurant opens, so we hang around the lobby for a bit and look at the giant gingerbread house. It was really cool! The last time we were at WDW for Christmas we didn't get to go around and see any of the trees, so i was happy to see this one!

they even had a counter to sell gingerbread cookies out of the house!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa329.jpg

then of course we had to get a christmas tree pic....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa330.jpg

Finally Joe caught up with us and it was time to go in for breakfast! We had eaten here for dinner last may and really liked the feel of the restuarnat, and the food was good too! I was hoping for breakfast we would be just as impressed!

First we got our picture taken outside.....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/FE%20and%20pics/1900parkfare.jpg

then we were taken in and seated. Joe went up to get some food for Jackie while i waited for the chef to come talk about what Joey could eat. Normally I wouldn't worry about it, and I think this was the only time I asked to speak to the chef, but he was really grumpy/hungry this morning and i wanted them to make him a pancake so he ate more than just fruit. The chef came out quickly and said it would be no problem at all to get him a dairy free pancake and even had some butter for him too! By then the waitress had returned with his soy milk and OJ for everyone else. Joe was back with food for Jackie, and strawberries for Joey, and everyone was eating and enjoying breakfast. then the characters came out!!

First up was Pooh Bear, followed very quickly by Tigger!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa332.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa335.jpg

By now Joey had his pancake, a MICKEY pancake, and he was happily eating away. Next come Mary Poppins!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa336.jpg
Jackie and Mary Poppins had a lovely conversation about what Jackie did after they saw each other in Epcot yesterday.

Then MP turns to Joey....and stares at him. She puts her hands on her hips and sternly says to him "Is that a proper utensil?" I look at what she's talking about....and he is using one of his cars to scoop his pancake into his mouth. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Yup...that's my boy...hey, whatever it takes to get the food in his mouth. He never answered her so she says "well i guess it is!"
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa337.jpg

MP leaves and Joey contineus to "drive" the food in his mouth. next up is Alice! YAY Alice had a lovely time with Jackie in her dress (have to say that about 90% of the girls in the restaurant were all dressed like Alice! ) Then of course Alice LOVES the autograph book with her picture on it and she flips thru it. I know it takes a LOT of work to make those autograph books for the kids, but it really is worth it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa339.jpg

Joey, of course, was not impressed with Alice...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa338.jpg

Next up was the Mad Hatter! YES! I was so excited to meet him!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa343.jpg

We had a lovely conversation about how he didn't like Tinkerbell....he called her Stinkerbell. And he was LOUD! Neither Jackie nor Joey would go anywhere near him. :lmao:

All in all breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was great....the fruit was AMAZING, Jackie and Joey must have eaten about 20 strawberries each! The eggs were good and there was a lot of variety. YUMMY on the chocolate crossiant! And the Character Interaction was great! A new favorite for us! Plus....i love the GF!

We left shortly before 9am and hopped on the Monorail to head over to MK!

MK HERE WE COME!!

As we walk down the ramp from the monorail......I figure it's about time to Joe about the slight....umm...disruption...that we may find in the MK that day. The christmas parade concert taping was supposed to happen on friday, but it was cancelled due to rain, and rescheduled...for that morning. :scared1: All I knew was that the Jonas Bros were supposed to be there, and of course, about a million extra screaming girls and cheerleaders! So i casually say to him, "Hey, you wanna see the Jonas Bros?" Yeah, he wasn't impressed. :rotfl: I figured if we could make it past main street and the castle, we would be safe in the back of the park, atleast until 230pm when we had an ADR at Tony's. The biggest problem we could see, was what would happen if Jackie found out what was going on. So far she was pretty oblivious to the PA announcements telling everyone where to stand and when to yell and scream...but if we heard any music i had a feeling our day would be up!

We quickly walked down main street (it wasn't as packed as I had expected it to be.) and wound our way up the left side ramp of the castle towards Fantasyland.

We get to the Castle and OMG it's the Fairy Godmother!! :pixiedust: DANG! No autograph page for her!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa358.jpg

I was able to snap 1 tiny picture at the fountain before everyone decided it was time to move on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa359.jpg

First we wanted to ride Dumbo, but man it was packed already! I couldn't believe how busy Fantasyland was already! So we parked the stroller and decided to do Snow White first. Joey freaked waiting in line.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa360.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa362.jpg
Then we walked over to Peter Pan for him....he freaked in line. So we thought maybe Winnie the Pooh....yup...freaked in line. DUDE what is your deal!!?!?!? He had to be held in all of the lines. He was fine once we actually got on the ride, but he hated being in line with all those people! And despite the sheer amount of people in the actual park, we didn't wait more than 5 minutes for any of these rides. Jackie saw the queue lining up to see Ariel and started whining about wanting to see her, but thankfully i was able to redirect her attention by saying we were going to head over to Toontown to see the Fairies! I did NOT want to spend an hour waiting in line for Ariel! Her line moves slower than Dumbo!

So we head towards ToonTown, and pass the Teacups. UGH! Aunt Melissa had told Jackie that she would take her on the teacups all summer long. Joe and I absolutely WILL NOT get on that ride! We told her she didnt' have to, but she wanted to do it, so off they went.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa365.jpg

We took Joey off to the bathroom and grabbed a banana while they were on the teacups. Once they were off we headed over towards ToonTown and straight for the fairies!

There were 2 lines, one for Princesses that said 15 minutes, and the other for the Fairies that said 30 minutes. Not too bad....except that the wait was more like 60 mintues!! Oh man i was PO'd! I would not have waited if the time was correctly posted! 60 minutes out of my day isn't worth it!

But we waited.....and the queue was acutally pretty cool. I liked all the pixie dust flying around the room and the walls were beautiful!

Finally it was our time to go in!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa374.jpg

Inside was Rosetta, Tink, and Silvermist. Joe has added Silvermist to his "cheating list" :naughty:

Once again, all the fairies were impressed with the autograph book! Rosetta used her own PINK marker to sign with.

And then we moved over to Tink.

Jackie had to tell her about the Mad Hatter of course. :lmao:

Melissa and I got a pic with Tink too, but it's on the photopass pics. Tink commented on my Tinkerbell Necklace that I was wearing..... She said she liked my "lost things" of her.

Then we go over to Silvermist, she liked that Jackie's dress was blue, and Joey's coat was blue!

I asked Joe if he wanted a picture with Silvermist too, but he was able to restrain himself. :lol2:

We managed to walk out of the Country Fair store without buying anything, and headed over to Goofy's Barnstormer! Jackie and Joey both rode this last year, and neither enjoyed it. :lmao: So to ensure future rollercoasted adoration in our family, we made them ride it again. :mwahaha: Jackie loved it, as i figured she would. Joey still wasn't impressed.

I know you probably covered this way back towards the start of your thread, but I haven't seen it since I started reading. Are the autograph books something you got from the Dissign boar on here, or did you find them somewhere else? I bet my DW would like to put them together for our trip in December.

Enjoying your TR and all the pics! Keep it coming! popcorn::

Hey Jen your pics look soo beautiful I love them! I am sorry DCL was a dissapointment I have to say my cruise in December was a dissapointment too. The whole time the weather was bad and most people brought food back to their room because they were too seasick. I never get motion sickness but that cruise I got sick every night. The whole staff just seemed strained through the fake smiles. Then we didn't get to go to castaway cay at all, to which they sent us a letter later saying sorry for your experience but we aren't going to do anything about it but please book again real soon. So I definitly understand with your unhappiness. On a happier note you really did look fantastic those epcot pics are amazing!

Sunday, MK day 2 part 2

After seeing the faeries and riding Goofy's Barnstormer, we left Toontown and headed over to TomorrowLand. We did a quick ride on the Indy Cars first....I had an AWESOME movie of Joey when he was driving, OMG he was so funny! He was laughing and wiggling the steering wheel all over the place, he laughed the whole ride. DAMN FRIGGIN LOST CAMERA!!!!

We headed over towards Buzz Lightyear. I had gotten fast passes when Jackie was riding the teacups, and because of the long time we spent in line for the faeries, it was time for another set! So we grabbed another set and went thru the FP line.....Buzz Lightyear is AWESOME!! We so love this ride!

They were still doing parade taping, and we caught a few glimpses of Kelly Ripa! I LOVE HER!! I used to watch Regis and Kelly before work when i worked for the travel agency! She's so funny!

As Lady and the Tramp obsessed as we are, we've never been to Tony's before. I've read all the negative reviews of Tony's on the DIS but decided that we needed to see it for ourselves. We didn't go in expecting to have wonderful homemade mama's italian food! We figured if it was as good as Olive Garden, than we'd be ok.

Our ADR was for 225pm, but dang if we didn't get sat until 305pm! I was really getting PO'd... I hate waiting to eat! Finally we were seated, and YAY there was Mickey confetti on the table. :cool1:

the kids had the spaghetti and meatballs, Joe had the Chicken Parminigne, Melissa had the baked ziti, and I had the spaghetti and meatballs too! I was all about slurping the spaghetti with Joe....but he turned me down. :rotfl: we all enjoyed our meal, and joe said we could go back so that is a BIG +! I don't see what everyone makes the fuss over, except for the service, we were pleased with our meal. Our server was "less than" attentive towards us. If I have a dirty plate infront of me for longer than 10 mintues after i've completed my meal...i tend to think he/she is ignoring us. And if I end up having to ask another server to find our waitress for dessert...chances are your tip is drastically dropping from my standard 20%. She finally came back and took our dessert order, we all split the Pistasciuo Creme Brulee (THUMBS UP), Ice Cream Bomb (that's da' BOMB!) and the Tiramisu (ok, but i'm not really a fan). All in all, while extremely overpriced ($100 for lunch!?!?!? But it's Disney) we were pleased with our lunch at Tony's, and we'll be back again.

Of course....we had to get the picture in front of the Lady and the Tramp Statue! It was going to be the cover of my scrapbook!

ANd yet....this is what we ended up with (atleast on Melissa's camera....i think i had a better one. oh well)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa422.jpg

How this happened, i'll never understand.

DANG! I totally forgot that we went over towards Liberty Square before lunch. It seemed like I had a huge time block there. :rotfl: See what happenes when i lose my camera!!! We headed towards Haunted Manison and WOW were the crowds crazy! I expected a bit more people because of the delayed taping, but this was just crazy! it was like Spring Break! The line for HM was sooo long, it was wrapped all the way around by the riverboat! But we hopped in line and it was atleast moving quickly. About 10 minutes later we were finally in the "gate" to the lawn.....and Joey had to go to the bathroom. UGH!! So Joey and I hopped out of line and went to the bathroon by Peter Pan. I called Joe and they were just entering the manison. It wasn't worth it for us to try and catch up. So Joey and I headed over to the Carasoul and rode that. He was happy again. Met back up with the other and we walked around Frontier Land for a bit. We were able to ride on Pirates of the Caribbean (yes, he was scared) and the Jungle Boats (with 3 bathroom trips while we waited in line!) before we headed out to lunch. Now we're all caught up. :rotfl:

After our very long lunch we headed back up Main Street to go back to Tomorrowland and ride Space Mountain.

We used our FP for Space Mountain and it was AWESOME!! Jackie was very upset that she wasn't tall enough to ride, so Joe had to sit with the kids first. Melissa and I rode and DAMN that ride is great!! I'm pretty sure i havn't ridden this since 2001! It was so great. I planned to ride again with Joe, but Joey had to go potty, again, so Melissa and Joe rode while i took the kids to the bathroom. Finally all together again, it was time for Mommy to choose...and I chose TTA!! yay love my people mover!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa429.jpg

The ride was as always, wonderfully relaxing yet fun! The kids actually enjoyed the ride and I think Joe was just glad to finally not have Joey on his shoulders...or in the bathroom! We got off the ride and Buzz Lightyear was standing over by CoP so of course we had to go see him!

It was now about 5pm and we wanted to head back over to Frontier Land and try BTMRR and then hopefully do SwissFamily Tree House before we had to leave by 7pm. But...due to the parade taping earlier, the daily parade was pushed back...to 5pm. So we had to walk BACK thru Tomorrowland, and around thru fantasyland. it was about 550pm when we stopped infront of IASW and tried to figure out what we wanted to do. MVMCP was that night, and we didn't have tickets. But there was still lots we wanted to do, and the kids were so far holding up well. We rode IASW and tried to decide if we were going to stay or go.

I'll spare you the 82 pictures Melissa took on IASW. :twitch: Suffice to say, we decided not to get the MVCMP tickets and headed out. Jackie wanted to go check out the campfire at the Resort, Enchanted was playing that night. While they were both still doing ok, it had been a long eventful day, and I really didn't want to push them any farther, plus i didn't want to spend $200!! So we headed out with only completeing about 1/2 of our "must do" list for MK. We missed the tree house, the river boat, BTMRR, Tom Sawyer Island, I didn't get to do HM, Hall of Presidents, Mickey's Philharmagic, we didnt' see any parade or shows, and we didn't get to ride Dumbo!! Joe made me swear that our next trip DEFINATLY would include 2 days at MK, even if we had to cut out another park.

We took the monorail back to GF, walked to the car and drove back to Ft Wilderness. Stopped at the cabin to drop off our stuff and make a quick potty stop, then went out to catch the bus to the campfire. We just missed the bus, and judging by the map figured it was a quick walk, so we set out to walk it. It really wasn't that far, I think it took us 15 mintues to walk to the campfire. The kids did fine too, but Melissa was seriously complaining. Like she hadn't been walking all day already! The campfire was just ending as we walked up and they were getting ready to start the movie. The set up was pretty cool! There were 2 fire pits up at the front, and a little chuck wagon for snacks in the back. THe benches were NOT comfortable at all, but all in all it was good evening. We didn't stay for the whole movie, Joey fell asleep about 10 minutes into Enchanted. And since that has to be Joe's absolute least favorite Disney movie, we called it an early night.

Tomorrow.....again, my plan is thrown out the window! When will they listen to me???

I'm glad that despite the camera was missing you still got a lot of great pictures. That really sucks about the picture in front of Tony's for your scrapbook, but I'm sure you have plenty of others to choose from. I love how you did the autograph books, what a great idea. I waited in a super long line for the fairies too, I don't get why that never moves faster. On our last trip, I had half a day by myself at MK, so I went ahead and waited in line that time because I knew Kris would never want to wait that long :rotfl: That's pretty cool you at least got to see some of the set-ups for the parade and stuff. We did the campfire program before our hayride welcome party for the wedding. The set-up really is nice there, although you didn't miss much by not being there for the singing, the person leading it when we were there was kind of annoying :confused3

Monday December 7th - DHS

This was basically the only day we were able to "sleep in". We wanted to be at DHS at 9am for rope drop, but we didn't have any breakfast plans. We grabbed some yummy gooey cinnamon rolls from MK Bakery the night before, and a chocolate croissant, so we feasted on those as we got ready. I think the alarm went of at 7am. :rotfl: ( why waste the day in bed at WDW???)

The plan for the day was pretty simple.... we make it for rope drop, and we will seperate as i run with the masses to TSM for FP and everyone else catchs up with me. After that our plan is characters, Tower of Terror for me, RnRC for DH, and as many times on TSM as we can. We have no ADR's today, and don't anticipate staying all day, but we did want to see Osbourne Family Light at 6pm. I was thinking we could do what we wanted and be out by 1 or 2, head to Boardwalk and hang for a while, and return for dinner and the lights.

Of course, 18 months of research and scorring every possible touring plan imaginable will be no help at all when the rest of your party feels the need to just wander around with the thumbs up their *****!! :headache: I don't claim to be the master tour planner or anything, but i can arrange it so that my kids are not wandering around with nothing to do, or waiting 55 minutes in line for a 2minute ride!!

We managed to make it to rope drop and i sprinted off with the rest of the tidal wave of guests towards TSM. It really was very organized....they did have CM's blocking shortcuts so you couldn't cut infront of people, and a big arm chain of CM's at the front leading at a respectable walking pace.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa509.jpg
Once we got to Pixar place, there was a queue to get to the FP's and the Green Army Men were out shouting directions, this way for FP's , this way directly to the line. We out FP at 9:17am and our return time was 10:55am....not bad at all.

Joe, melissa and the kids caught up with me just as i was walking out of the FP queue.....they had seen the characters at the hat and wanted to go see them. So we headed back up towards the hat.

Obviously we saw Chip and Dale, but Goofy and Donald were there too (we saw them at Epcot) so we didn't stay too long. We had about 30 minutes to kill until the 1st characters were out, so we decided to head to the left and walk around and end up on Streets of America.

We could see the light strands up on everything, i was so excited to see the lights later that night.:dance3: i LOVE christmas lights!!

It was turning out to be a BEAUTIFUL day!! The sun was shining and it was WARM.....hot actually! We had our Toy Story Mania shirts on....and of course mine and Joe's were black....i believe i may have been "glistening" by the end of the day. But we weren't complaining! It was much better than rain!

Wandering back up Mickey Avenue towards Pixar place, we say that Buzz and Woody were inside, with NO WAIT! WOO HOO! this was the cutest little autograph room, almost as good as Pixie Hollow!

It was now about 10 mintues before Mater and McQueen were to be out of pictures, so we headed back towards the back of the park. As we walked past TMS....the stand by line said a 10 minute wait!! :cheer2: We checked with the CM to make sure and he verified that it was really slow for a change. So we headed in and OMG it was deserted!!! It was like a private showing!

Monday Dec 7th - DHS Part 2

After our awesome ride on TSM, it was time to head out to Luigi's Garage to see Lightning McQueen and Mater. My son is so strange.....he talked about meeting Mater again, and seeing McQueen (since he was in California at the race last year) he was so excited!! But we finally get there....and he's totally shy and scared!

Finally....done with the morning characters and it's time for lunch. Actually, it's only 1115am, but we wanted to eat early (as we didnt' have a good breakfast) and because we got to Pizza Planet and they make a special dairy free pizza for Joey, so it takes a while.

Pizza Planet is a kind of must for us....we've gone all 3 times we've taken the kids there. 1, the other QS options at DHS kind of suck. 2, they will make a pizza special for Joey so he's a happy boy. 3, it really is a good value!! You can get a pizza and salad meal, add the dessert and drink all on the DP! And the Pizza really is pretty good. the games are nothing great, standard arcade games, some skeeball and crane games. Other than the little green alien men hanging from the ceiling, there isn't really anything Toy Story themed in the restaurant though. It would be cool if they had the alien slime slushie machine!!

We finished up lunch shortly after noon, so we headed over toward animation studios. We wanted to see if we could see Bolt or Up Characters. I caught the showing of Playhouse Disney before we went it.

After finishing up with Animation Station, we headed up towards Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. I was the only one who was riding Tower of Terror, while all 3 of us adults planned on riding RnRC. So the plan was that I would go to ToT, Melissa would do RnRC, and Joe would get the kids Ice Cream and wait. Whoever came out first would watch the kids while Joe went on RnRC.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa661.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa662.jpg

I headed up to Tower of Terror and walked up the long walk....there wasn't a soul around!!! :idunno: Seriously, i walked up the walk, around the grounds, into the hotel and went to stand into the library and never saw ANYONE! I was afraid that the ride was not working when the elevator door opened and the CM sent me into the elevator all by myself! :twitch: luckily I caught up with more guests in the basement! I was on the ride in less than 3 minutes after i left everyone else!! Joe hates Tower of Terror and won't ride wiht me anymore, in 2005 I was pregnant, and when we went last year we just didn't have time....so I hadn't riden since 2001! I was sooooo ready and totally excited/scared as i couldn't remember how the ride went. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I so LOVE that ride!! I wanted to ride again but i needed to go check on everyone else.

So I headed over towards RnRC and saw Melissa and the Kids.....she had just walked out of RnRC (Love the Single rider line) and Joe had just walked on a few minutes before. She offerd to take the kids over to Beauty and the Beast while i went on RnRC with Joe. SO i tried to catch up with him but he was walking on the ride while i was in line, so we didn't meet up. Love RnRC too! Seriously, it's great that Disney can have such exciting adult roller coasters . I got off and went to meet Melissa and the Kids in B&tB, while Joe rode again.

After Beauty and the Beast we headed up towards the sorceer's hat and got a spot for Block Party Bash. I had a lot of pictures and some adorable video of the kids dancing, but of course....GONE! (can you tell i'm still bitter about my camera??) BPB is a great show!! It's so bright and active and full of energy! The kids really enjoyed it.

So now it's about 330pm. My original plan for the day was to leave shortly after noon and head to Boardwalk to relax for the afternoon before heading back to DHS for the Osbourne Lights. But somehow we had managed to spend the whole day at DHS! We had no plans for dinner. So we walked over to Sci-Fi Dine in to see if we could get a walk up. They had a table for us.....at 4pm. Granted we did eat lunch at 11am, but i really didn't want to eat dinner that early. But it was all that was available and we really did want to eat there, so we took it. Originally we were supposed to have an ADR at Sci-Fi but i cancelled it in favor of Akershus. I knew that i wanted to try the Chocolate Milkshake.....but since this would be an OOP meal....i was cheap and got water and only the Onion Rings for dinner. :lol2: Yeah, i'm that kind of person.

Joe had the Ribs, and Melissa had the Rueben. Both really enjoyed their meal. The kids had the beef macaroini that came with a salad. I ate their salad and my onion rings...and was happy. :rotfl:

I was really hoping that the kids would be happy with the restaurant and laugh at the movies...but i think it was just too dark for them. The movies were way over their head, and it was too dark for Joey to notice that he was eating in a car, so it was a waste of a trip. but the food was good.

After dinner we headed back towards Streets of America to finally see Sully!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Photopass/Image0240.jpg

By now it was about 530pm and the Osbourne lights were coming on at 6pm. The beautiful sunny day had ended and it was starting to drizzle. not enought to actually get wet...but it was annoying. As it got closer to 6pm it started to rain more and more. by the time the lights came on, we were getting wet. So we did a quick walk up and down the street and headed out. The kids were cold and wet and didn't even really look at the lights. ugh weather!!

Upon leaving DHS we drove across the street to check out Boardwalk Resort and the boadwalk. we looked at the Gingerbread house, walked up and down the boardwalk, and had dessert at Boardwalk Bakery. I wanted to rent the Surrey bike and go around the lake, but everyone else was tired......whimpy!! So we headed back to teh cabin to get ready for bed. in teh morning.....OUR EPCOT SHOOT!!!

Tuesday December 8th

Tuesday morning came early......Beaute Special was to be here at 6am. I woke up at 530am and made some coffee. I moved Joey from the lower bunk into bed with Joe, and had Melissa go in and sleep in the bottom bunk. This was all discussed last night when we were trying to figure out the best way to get me ready without distrubing everyone else.

Lane from Beaute Special showed up about 550am. I had a few pictures from their website to show her how I wanted my make up to look. I wanted fresh and natural, not hollywood glam. I don't wear a lot of makeup normally, and I wanted to look back at these pictures and say "wow, i look beautiful, not what a great makeup job i had done." She knew exactly what i wanted and did a great job. As for my hair, I told her i wanted half up/half down, fluffy and curly, and completely out of my face.
http://dtacustomveils.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/weddinghairstyle2.gif

this is what I showed her i wanted.

she worked quickly and did a great job! I was so happy with my make up and my hair. it was fluffly and full and most importantly, was not hanging in my face! And my make up was perfect! No dark eyeliner, and it looked natural. i was very happy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Epcot%20Shoot/Epcot-Hair.jpg

We finished my hair and make up about 7am, and Mike was due to arrive at 730am. I woke Joe up and had him get ready while i put my dress on. Mike showed up about 720am and we were all set.

I know that Mike's reputation on the DIS isn't great. But i had seen his work and wasn't worried in the least. I think my style matchs his very well. Not to be vain or out of touch with the latest photography styles, but I want to be the main item in a picture. I don't like the out of focus pictures where the bride and groom are in the background. I don't like the pictures that have a huge landscape, with a tiny little couple hidden someplace. I want to see ME and know what the picture was supposed to say. On the way over to Epcot, i told Mike i had seen Carly's pictures, and Tom and Heidi's Escape pics at Sunset Point, and even Michelle's Epcot pics (But i didn't tell him she wasn't impresssed with them. ;) ) And the best part of the whole morning, was that Joe was actually in a good mood and enjoyed Mike. My husband is not a friendly person and does not take well to other people. And he HATES to get his picture taken. So the fact that he was in a good mood, had good smiles, and was generally laughing and joking with Mike made the shoot go very well.

First Mike took us over to Italy. The weather was warm, thankgoodness, but it was very foggy. We couldn't see across the World Showcase lake to see Spaceship Earth when we got there. there was no sunlight at all.....not good for taking pictures. But I think Mike made good with what we had.

After Italy, we headed over to China. I was looking forward to pictures in China....i like the gardens and fish and flowers in China. While there isn't anything wrong with the pictures, they just arent' my favorites. Going back over looking at other China pictures, i've noticed it in others too. I think where you stand in China is just too far away from the camera......it's a lot like the Castle in MK....big scenery, tiny little couple.

By now our hour is up, it's actually almost 845am, and Mike asked if there was anything else we wanted. I told him I wanted to try and get some pictures by the fountain in France, and hopefully get some good SE pictures, if/when the fog ever lifted off the lake. Mike said no problem, so we headed over towards France.

To get our SpaceShip Earth pictures, we headed back over towards Italy and went out on the Isola. The fog had finally lifted and the sun was out, it was actually rather bright. :heehee: We were running late and the sun was in our eyes, we debated if we really wanted to do these, but i'm glad we did as i think they turned out PERFECT! I love these last few shots he got.

As it was now very warm, the sun was out and it was well after 9am, the little lizard guys were crawling all over the place.....I'm freaked out by these little things and was trying to make sure i didn't step on them. that's how Mike snapped this last picture. I don't normally stand and walk that way. :heehee:

We truelly enjoyed our session with Mike. He was very professional and we are SOOO IN LOVE with our pictures. I am so glad i did the shoot.

We had to hurry back to the cabin and change as we had to get the kids and hurry over to DTD as we were meeting my brother and his family at 1045am for lunch at T-Rex and shopping.

Tuesday December 8th - Part 2 - DTD

It was close to 10am by the time we got back to Ft Wilderness after our photo shoot. We had to hustle and get changed because we were supposed to meet my Brother and his family at DTD at 1030. We told Melissa we would be back by 9am and to just let the kids sleep, we'd get them bathed and cleaned up when we got back. EEKS! Luckily, she's great and already had Joey bathed and fed and Jackie was in the tub when we got back.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa672.jpg

Still, we were going to be late. So i called my brother to let him know we were running behind (so was he :rotfl: ) and we pushed our time back to 1045 for our 11am reservation at T-Rex. Go the kids dressed and cleaned up and Joey and I changed. I left my hair down with all 5million of the bobby pins in......I looked good, but i also wanted to see how long it would last. Soon we were ready and headed out to DTD.

Have I mentioned how WONDERFUL it was to have our own car!??!?!? Never again will we rely on Disney Transportation. They offer a great service, but man you can save so much time just driving yourself around!!

We met my brother, his wife, and their 3 kids at DTD by the Carousel. It was a BEAUTIFUL day finally, the sun was shining and it was hot Florida weather! LOVING IT!! We let the kids take a ride on the Carousel and then the Train before we headed down to T-Rex.

It was still a few minutes before 11am so the kids played in the dig site off the store. It's a big sand pit with dig tools available to search for fossils in the sand.

They had a great time and didn't want to stop to go in and eat! But I was hungry (I'd been up since 530 and hadn't eaten yet!) We we seated quickly in a big round table in the back. (There were 10 of us, 5 adults and 5 kids - 6/5/4/3/1)

It was time for cocktails!! They had a typical drink menu like you would get at Applebee's or someplace like that, but with funky names. I got a paleozoic version of a bahama mama. :rotfl: It worked for me! It was $10! but i got to keep the glass, whoopie, a plain ol' big hurricane glass. it would have been better if it atleast said T-Rex on it!

I knew it was going to be an expensive meal, but GOODNESS their prices were crazy!! We weren't going to be eating again until O'Hana at 5pm so i figued i'd need more than just a burger, so Joe got the big slab of Ribs and I got some kind of Chicken dish. (I took food porn to help me remember damn it!!!) It was good, but i don't think worth the price. There was lots of food and the kids enjoyed the restaurant. Yes it's loud but you expect it to be. The meteor shower show that goes off ever 15 minutes or so is WAY Cool! And i loved how the Ice Room would change from blue to red. I got great pictures of that. :sobbing: Overall i'm glad we went, it was really cool, but I don't see us going back. Not until Tracy calls my Powerball numbers anyway!

It was about 1230pm when we left the restaurant, without a trip to the Build-a-Dino section I may add. :heehee: We headed down towards West Side just walking and talking, got to the end and turned around and headed back towards Marketplace.

We headed over to Goofy's Candy Shop before we went back to the resort. Made some dipped pretzel sticks, got some cool candy and basically enjoyed their AC. :D

It was almost 3pm by now, and we had reservation at Ohana at 5pm. We wanted to go back and go swimming, but we'd only have an hour if we wanted to make dinner on time, which we did. So we hung back and went to play at the lego store for a bit, then went back to the resort.

We wanted to explore down by the Settlement and see the barn, but we couldn't figure out how to get there! Apparentnyl you can't drive there, atleast not in a car. HOW STUPID! Why would you put the restaurant, show facility, SHOPS, and kids activities in a place that is not accessible by car!?!?!?!? Ugh, it was the only thing we didn't like about the Ft. So after wasting close to an HOUR driving around the Ft, we were not almost late for dinner. Back to the cabin to freshen up and change our clothes for dinner.

Made it to Poly for our 5pm ADR right on time and Oh My Goodness!! The restaurant was packed! I couldn't believe it was so busy when it just opened! CRAZY Busy! I was worried we were going to be stuck waiting forever for a table, but luckily we got seated pretty quickly. BRING ON THE FOOD!!! I had read so much on how great Ohana was for dinner, i couldn't wait to try it all. The bread was good, Joey ate 4 pieces of it! :heehee: They they brought out the salad and THAT was yummy! I could have eaten that all evening...until the wings and noodles and broccoli came out. :yay: EVERYTHING was so good......the kids ate everythign on their plate and then some! It was great to see them eat something other than french fries! Joey thought it was hilarous to see the waitress walking around with the meat on sticks. And i did try the dessert....good too! Ohana is now a MUST -DO for us everytrip!

After rolling out of Ohana and back to the car we decided it was time for some fun (cause ya know, we hadn't had any all week :lmao: ) and decided it was time for NIGHT SWIMMING!!! Melissa was going to stay behind in the cabin and do some work while we took the kids down to the pool for some Swimming Under the Stars.

Again, i had great pictures of the kids playing in the pool. THe pool area at Ft Wilderness was really cool. They had a new toddler play area with water slides and sprays that Joey was just head over heals in love with. Joe and Jackie was enamored with the big water slide and went down time and time again until the life guards left at 8pm. Joey moved from the toddler play area to this big square zero entry pool. We sat and played in there for about 10 minutes until i found a TURD!!! OMG I was freaking out :scared1: It was so gross, Joey had his face in that water!! I was tryinig to not make a scene but man i was so grossed out and about to start hyperventaliing....that's just NASTY!!! totally ruined my night swimming. We moved to the big pool but Joey of course had to be held the whole time so we left shortly after and went back to the cabin. The kids passed out before they hit their pillows.

Tomorrow is our last day at Disney before we sail!! WOO HOOO!O!!

Your hair and makeup turned out so pretty for the Epcot photos! I just love the shots in the World Showcase, I think my favorites are of Spaceship Earth and in Morocco. I'm glad the fog finally lifted for your SE pics. That's too bad you weren't happy with your Japan pictures, I know our shots there were some of our favorites, but we spent a lot of time there with our bridal party so got to get lots of different angles, etc.

I'm glad to hear that you're an O'hanas convert, we always eat there on every trip. Even in December when we just went to Universal and no Disney, we had to make a trip over to eat at O'hanas :rotfl:

Wow - your Epcot pictures are amazing - you both look wonderful. Your hair and makeup came out great and I so love your dress with the sash and pink shoes. The pictures you got with Spaceship Earth are worth the whole Epcot shoot.

Like you review of T-Rex - we have never eaten there but hope to one day. It looks so cool just to walk around.

I am so glad you like 'Ohana. This is our favorite place to eat and it sometimes gets a bad rap on these boards. We always love everything there and you ate at a great time. There is so much food there we can't eat there late at night any more. Although we do love walking down to the beach when we are finished and watching the Electric Light Pagent and Wishes.

Looking forward to reading more.

I was so happy with my hair and make-up from Beaute Special......Lane really did a great job matching it up exactly with what I wanted. I will admit i was worried about telling a professional make up artist that i didn't really want my makeup to show up. But she knew exactly what i was going for and did an outstanding job! I was so pleased with it. And i still looked good even after "glistening" in DTD all afternoon. :rotfl:

Your pictures are beautiful! Where else can you get married and have pictures taken all over the world! It is funny how the pictures you liked the best were taken in a country you didn't think you wanted to visit - but they all turned out great.

We walk in and are seated in the corner right next to "the" door!! SCORE!! WOO HOO the Princesses will come to OUR Table first! Our Waitess told us we could make it up to the buffett before the 1st Princess would be coming out, so we hurried up to get the kids some fruit and pastries, and the Pancakes and Eggs were waiting when we got back. I LOVE Family style meals.....less time we have to spend away from the table with the kids trying to make a decision from 400 options on the buffet.

Back to our table and we eat for about 5 minutes before Aurora Rose comes out! :wizard:

Then 5 minutes later comes Cinderella....

Then Snow White! :yay: I LOVE how quickly they were coming!! Just enought time between the visits to get a few bites to eat.

Our last princess was Ariel....and Jackie of course had to ask her where her fins were. They must coach the princesses because the answer was a good one, not that i can remember it now.

Finally Future World is open and our 1st stop of the day is definatly to get on Test Track.....neither Joe nor I have ever riden it and it was definatly on our to-do list. And WOW Jackie was actually tall enough to ride! OMG you should have seen her face, it was like her most favorite memory of the whole trip.

It was AWESOME!!! Jackie LOVED the ride and was so ready to go again, so we grabbed some FP and hopped in line again. 2nd time was even better.

Poor little Joey....he must have sat out about 45 minutes of riding. So he had to settle with new Cars toys....Lug and Nut
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Melissa826.jpg

After 2 rounds of Test Track and a set of FP for later, we walked over to Innovations West and walked around for a bit exploring the recycling exhibits and the wind house? That was a bit weird, but Joey enjoyed seeing the huge garbage truck and firetrucks inside. :D Then it was time to FINALLY figure out what this whole Journey Into Imagination thing was. It was cute, i can understand now everyone's obsession with Figment, he's a cute little guy. Yeah, the kids weren't impressed that much though.

I'm going to say we decided to leave the park at that time. I really wanted to spend all day looking around the different Lands and having the kids do the kidcot stations and fill out their passports, but i was outvoted in favor of swimming. :boo: So by 11am, we were on our way back to Ft Wilderness get enjoy the pool. I will admit that it was a very relaxing day and the kids, yes and me too, had a really great time at the pool. But it's very hard for me to NOT be in the parks all day long. We have pools here.....granted not cool themed like at Ft Wildreness, but still...it's a pool. Luckily there were no more floaty's in the pool.

Melissa caught the shuttle back to the cabin to get ready for our evening back in the park while we caught the shuttle up to the beach area and walked around just enjoying the scenery and peace and quiet. (can you tell i can't remember what we did and without my camera, i'mjust grasping at straws. :P )

I know we had to be back at Epcot by 445pm because we had a reservation at Coral Reef. The kids had a wonderful time looking at all the fish in the tank and we had a good dinner. My steak was good, but fishy tasting, which Joe laughed at me and said that's what i get for ordering steak instead of fish. After Coral Reef we did one more run on Test Track, then Jackie, Melissa and I went on Soaring. GREAT ride, another one that I was suprised that Jackie would want to do, and actually enjoyed it! I knew that Joe would hate the ride, as he doesn't do motion rides, so it was totally ok that it was almost time to head out for the dessert party.

And of course, since my camera was lost, i have no pictures from the Dessert Party but wanted to say it was a GREAT TIME! I don't remember eating anything, and i don't think i really watched any of the fireworks, but it was great to finally meet everyone and talk with everyone. I so wished we didn't have to rush out after the show, but my kids were dead tired and depseratly needed to get to bed.

Up next.....TIME TO CRUISE!!!

Thursday December 10th - SET SAIL!!!

It's time to sail!!! WOOO HOO!!! OMG we were soooo ready to hit the road and get onboard!! We were so ready to relax and unwind after a long 5 days at Disney and to totally be pampered and spoiled. (little did we know that would NOT be happening :gah: )

The plan was to be on the road by 9am because I had told my parents, sister and brother that everyone woudl be meeting at the Terminal at 10am so we could all check in and board together. Well....that didn't happen.

We got up and still had CS credits ( yes i planned it that way!!!) so we packed up and headed over to WL for breakfast at Roaring Forks. And I wanted to show Joe and the kids what the resort was like. So off to WL we went and enjoyed our last breakfast. Thought Roaring Forks was pretty good, what can you expect from a food court. What i did NOT expect was how incredibly tiny the seating area was!! OMG you could fit like maybe 50 people in there! It was nuts!! How we managed to snag a table i have no idea but we did. After breakfast we had a few minutes so we walked around the pool area and waited for the geyser to erupt, but it never did. So we headed back to the car and set out on our way, 845am.

Now our 1st delay happened because my brother didn't want to drive down alone. Remember he was here in Orlando, staying at some timeshare resort on International Blvd and wanted to caravan down to the port together. Fine no big deal, we'll meet him at his hotel and we'll all go together. Not the best idea. He had already been on WDW property when they met us at DTD. We had no idea how to get to Int'l Blvd. I knew it was close....but yeah....not exactly sure how to get there. And all the damn roads are all named the same thing!! UGH we were soooooo lost it wasn't even funny. Thank goodness for unlimited minutes because we finally found them at 950am!!! YES!!! It took us over an hour to figure out where they were!! *** didn't they just drive on their own!! UGH so now we are wayyyyy behind schedule!! My sister calls us before we are even on the highway and says she and mom are already at the port. OMG now i feel like crap!! I HATE to be late, it is a serious issue with me. And now my sister, her husband and their 4 kids, plus my parents, are all going to be sitting at the port, alone, for over an hour before we get there. UGH!!

Luckily Joe drives quickly and we made good time. But we had to make a quick detour because my nephew forgot undershirts. :boo: Sister wants to know if we can quickly stop at Walmart and pick him up some before we get to the ship. Sure! No problem, it's not like we are running behind or anything!!! :yell:

So we find the closest Walmart to the interstate and get him some undershirts. Back on the road and 5 minutes later we SEE THE SHIP!!! OMG driving over the bridge and getting that first glimpse of the boat is sooo wonderful!! Everyone was excited and clapping, the kids were laughing and giggling, it was so great! We were finally there!!!

Nope, not really. Mapquest directions suck *** and took us to the port authority, NOT the ship! Directions around the port are NOT as helpful as they are at WDW. So we spent another half an hour driving around trying to figure out how to get to the ship that we could all see!!! We finally pulled out to ship at 1150am! Almost 2 hours late!!! :gah:

Joe drops us off and goes to park the car, while we get all the luggage settled and go thru security. Let's see, we had 3 suitcases, plus the kids 2 rolling suitcases, my garmet bag with mine and Jackie's dress, PLUS 2 very large 20x12x12 boxes that had the chocolates, flowers, and cake topper for the VR. The porters were not happy to see us. Add Melissa's luggage and my brothers luggage for his family of 5, and he brought beer and baby food too. :lmao: Yeah, we had a lot of stuff to load in.

Make it thru security, up the escalator and finally WE ARE INSIDE THE TERMINAL!!!

My family is all checked in and are sitting over by the Kids Club registration. Amy (my brother's wife) and I head over to check in. As a DFTW bride, I was able to use the Concierge Check in, which was a good thing as the general check in line was HUGE!!! We got all checked in, and I received my first note from our On-Board Wedding Coordinator, Imran! :yay: It said to meet him at 3pm (which I already knew, but it was nice to get an official invite!)

We went back to our group and I handed out the Welcome Bags and goody bags for the kids. Everyone was rather bummed they didn't get a t-shirt. :lmao: After 18 months of listening to everyone ***** about having to wear matching t-shirts, i decided to kill the idea. Now we are on board and everyone wants one. UGH! Whatever. They all really enjoyed the bags and I am glad that we did them. Inside the adult bags were the Bear Necessities bag that had clorox wipes, tylenol, hand sanitizer, 1st aid kit, and a baggie of kleenex. Everythign came in very handy, espicially the 1st aid kit and i swear every single child tripped on the deck and skinned knees and palms. :idunno: The kids bags had little coloring books, disney expandable wash cloth thingy's, crayons, stickers, key chains, and autograph books (which actually one 1 of the kids used. My brother said his kids (5 and 3) were too young to understand. WHATEVER!! ) The 2 older boys got $25 disney gift cards they could use in the arcade.

We couldn't have stood there for more than 10 minutes before it was time for us to board! YAY so excited and ready to go!! We found whoever had the lowest boarding number and we all went in with that group. :rotfl: Hey, i'm the bride....i can do what i want. And i DID have my ears on! :love3:

We get on board and automatically the 1st thing we do is find food. It's been a long morning for everyone. The CM's onboard were trying to direct everyone upstairs to BeachBlanketBuffet, but I knew that we could go sit down and eat in Parrot Cay. Since we would not be eating there for dinner, we headed there 1st.

They sat us in a section off to the side and we managed to get all 18 of us seated together. We had a great window view of the harbor and saw some of the other ships docked. Then we saw Tory and Thad walk in and hilariously my brother's daughter, the 3 yr old, starts laughing and giggling telling everyone she sees Ariel. :rotfl: Now no one is paying her any attention because we think she's looking at a painting or a statue, not realizing she thinks Tory is Ariel! :lol2: It wasn't until the end of the meal as we walk by them and stop to say hi that Lucy calls her Ariel. :love3: It was cute. Lunch in Parrot Cay was ok, the kids had corn dogs, joe ate a lot of cold shrimp. We left when it was time to finally find our cabins.

With the exception of my brother who had to be in a larger cabin because of his family of 5, we were all on deck 6, within shouting distance of each other. Mom and Michelle had adjoining cabins with Michelle Dave and the boys in 1 cabin, and mom dad and the girls in the other, and Melissa was directly across the hall from them. We were down about 10 cabins from them. time to hang up our fish extender!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/FE%20and%20pics/041.jpg Everyone got in and dropped off their carryon's and headed out to deck!!

First place we stopped was the kids club. We wanted to let the kids look around and get excited for it later on! It was soooo cool!! There was a big jungle gym type slide in the middle, and little game rooms off to the side, tvs and computers all over the place. They were both so excited to play and were less than pleased to find out they couldn't stay right now. We had to bribe them with promises of treats and cool drinks up on deck.

UP on deck we walked around and looked at everything, enjoying our frosty cool beverages and just taking it all in. It was rather cool, cloudy and windy which did not set up a great mood. Finally it was time for my 3pm meeting with Imran so I left Joe and the kids with everyone else and went down to finalize all my details.

Imran was very sweet, efficient, and seemed very dedicated to ensuring that the VR was as perfect as I had planned it to be. We went down to one of the conference rooms and set to work on everything that Brianna had given to him. Suprisingly enought, most everything was correct. The 1st problem we encountered was the chair situation. I had given him a list of stuff to be set out, the fans and programs, flower petal cones, how i wanted the sand table set up, and all that stuff. He asked where i had gotten the idea there would be 16 chairs set up? :confused3 Um....well i have 16 guests that i had to PAY EXTRA FOR...why would there not be chairs available for everyone? Seems that even though you are allowed to have up to 20 people on Deck 7, they only have seating for 12......2 rows of 3 on each side of the aisle. There were no extra chairs available, and very little room to seat them. He assured me it would be no problem as everyone would be standing anyway. I told him that people were probably standing as there were no chairs available!! I was pissed off!! NEVER had anyone stated that the extra guests I had to pay for would be required to stand on deck in the hot Bahamian sun during the 20 minute ceremony, cake cutting, toast and dance!!! We never came to an agreement, so in a way i'm glad we got rained out because my family would have found chairs and drug them up to deck 7 themselves! Our next issue was the sand ceremony. no way no how was he budging on this one. I assured him that the sand was perfectly clean, still sealed with plastic in the bottle it was bought in, and we would do it ourselves, no problem if the captain didn't want to say it. Nope, he wouldn't budge, we couldn't even take the sand out of our cabin and do it ourself. Fine, whatever, i'm not that pissed as I really didn't want to have to worry about the sand getting messed up on teh way home anyway. (atleast i wasn't that pissed until I got home and saw that Tanya who had just gotten off that day from her VR had gotten to have her sand ceremony and Imran even set up the table for her!!! :headache::headache::headache: ) We went over the ceremony order, the music, setting up the aisle runner and petals, cones, cake table and how to arrange the table in Palo with the favors. He said he would even come by the cabin later that night to pick up everything for Palo and would ensure it was set properly. He told me that the flowers I had orderd from Perfect Gift were delivered and they looked good, he would make sure they were in Palo for dinner also. (this was all stuff Betsy had to do on her own and i was prepared to, so i"m glad he offered to do it for me) At this time we went over the cake design. He had everything correct, flavor and size, and even knew that i wanted absolutely NOTING on the cake and I had provided my own cake topper. That's when I showed him the 2 other cakes i wanted.....the one with the Mickey heads on it, and the Happily Ever After cake. Imran said he would check with the chef and see if one of them could be done, but he couldn't promise me anything. I said that was fine, if they could do it, i'd be happy, if not, no big deal as I was already expecting the plain one.

With that I gave him the CD of music and we were off to Life Boat Drill.

After life boat drill, we head back to start unpacking and make sure all our boxes were delivered. In addition to the obnixious amount of stuff we brought....I also had 3 boxes sent ahead!! We get to the cabin and i have NO BOXES at all!! EEK! Time to call Imran and freak out! I gave him a description of the boxes and he had them found and delivered to us in less than 15 minutes! YAY

I had the Exotic Rasul booked for 8am friday morning....but our 1st problem came up as the kids club didn't open until 9am. I didn't want to ask anyone to watch the kids at 8am, so I ended up cancelling. totally sucks as I was so looking forward to it, but what could i do?

Our show was before dinner, and we were off to the Golden Mickey's. I wasn't sure how the kids would be sitting thru the whole show....would have rather take them to the kids club and then enjoy the show and dinner by ourselves. But they wanted to see it and ended up being really good through it. The show was really good.....I enjoyed it and the "pre-show" was really cute with the kids talking.

Our 1st dinner was in Animator's Palette. Was sooooo excited to see this restuarant. It was so cool!! Yet this is where everything started to go down hill. :scared1:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/photos/600-Animators-Palate.jpg(stock photo)

There were 18 of us in our party......We had 3 tables....a big round of 10 and then 2 smaller tables pushed together for another 10......I was kinda happy to see that we had extra room....you can never have too much table room when you are at a table with 6 children!! And then in walk Tory and Thad!! (our photographer!) then it becomes.... How in the world did they get put at the same table as us!?!?!? Coincidence?? no idea...but I can assure you.....my family is too much for Dh to handle at times.....I knew that we were going to freak Tory and Thad out. Besides that....THEY WERE ON THEIR HONEYMOON!!! Why would DCL put them at the same table as 9 children!!!?!?! It took less than 2 seconds to see that Thad was very uncomfortable, who could blame him!?!?! He'd met/seen me for all of 5 seconds at the DP the before, and now he was surrounded by 17 other obnixious people. I felt horrible......:guilty:

I told the waiter and assistant waiter that 7 of the kids would be leaving for the kids club when the counselors came at 9pm to get them, so we needed to order their food and get it quickly. All 20 of us order our meal and make chit chat as we watch the restaurant change colors. Appetizers and soups come out shortly, then the kids meals come out at 8:55pm. I should note.....we were seated at 815pm. NO ONE had any drinks yet.......and only 6 of the kids meals were delivered.....the counselrs were at the door and Jackie still didn't have her pizza!! WTH is going on?!?!?! Becuase of the mix up with the food, the counselrs left with 1/2 the kids and the other 1/2 had to quickly finish then Amy (SIL) and I took the other kids up, but Joey refused to go. He was really tired and was getting very grumpy. He was going to become an issue quickly. The assistant waiter finally takes a drink order, and our food comes out. I can't remember what I had, I know it was a steak because the waiter did actually cut my steak for me as I had Joey almost asleep on my lap. I was pleased with that one, but I shouldn't be because i've had the waiter on RCCL and CCL both cut my meat for me....and I didn't have kids on my lap then. Maybe my dresses were cut lower then? ::laughing: About 1/2 way through our meal, we get a Page....Jackie is done at the club and ready to come home. That was it, it was almost 10pm, everyone was grumpy and tired......we left our meal and took the kids back to the cabin. Missed the show, missed seeing the complete transformation, missed DESSERT! (yeah, that still pisses me off!) But it really needed to happen. So the 4 of us were back in the cabin and in bed shortly after 10pm.

So at the end of day 1, I had already been disappointed by our wedding coordinator, almost lost all our VR supplies, had to cancel my much needed spa appointment, the kids were seriously disappointed with the kids club, our dining room waiters sucked ***, and so far....I had yet to experience the "Disney Difference". It was definatley NOT the start to our WONDERful cruise. Will it get any better???

Up next....Saturday...Nassau....the torrential RAIN....and an automobile accident?? How serious was it??

Looks like a fun breakfast at Akershus -- we got the table across from the one you were at last time we ate there and we too loved being first in line for the Princesses!

Sorry about all the hassles on the first day of the cruise. Geesh, not sounding magical! That is really strange that they don't have extra chairs for the extra guests.

Looking forward to reading more!:goodvibes

Reading though your TR and I just had to pipe in! I need to look back at the actual date of your VR, bit I went for my 2 nd cruise, my DF 's 1st on the Wonder for the 4 night Nassau deal that left like 12/6? Anyway, must be lots of new crew mbers because we had the same deal with the beverages and kind of generally spaced out dining staff! It didn't rankle as much to is, but our whole dining group and NOTmousefest group felt the se! There was plastic left on deserts a couple times and I found a fingernail, well, somewhere you really don't want to find one. Ick! My previous cruise was a breeze, no such issues at all. We are going again on the Dream for our honeymoon. Side mote, as strong as you feel about DCL is how strongly I despise Vista spa!!! I did services on both cruises and their selling techniques are so rude and flagrant and high pressure I actually had to make my fiancée go return some products the masseuse just basically sent to my room at the tune of $150! And I've not come across a salon person who didn't seem right out of school and it's like they are robots. Everything they talk or ask you about is a complete sales ploy to try and get you to say something that means you have no reason to not spend all your money there!!

Anyway your dress is gorgeous and congrats! Let you know if the 3rd DCL experience proves on the 2nd'

I have to say that I am totally jealous of your cake! Like you and the sand ceremony, I was told absolutely no changes to the cake. The one I got was really yummy, and pretty compared to the disaster at our at home reception, but you got what I wanted. LOL!

I'm also jealous of the epcot pics. We did get some good pics, but you got some really artsy ones and lots of editing. Like hand colored b&w. We got no editing what so ever. I don't know if it was b/c she thought that we would want to do it ourselves - she knew we were photographers, or if she was mad at us! I did show up without my dress on. LOL! I cannot control the traffic woman.

Your photo pass pics are awesome. You guys got to do a lot of stuff I have never seen. I didn't know you can meet Mike and Sully. Kenzie loves that movie! And we have never been to the Akerhouse. Looks like you guys had fun.

You have loads of wonderful photos of the kids meeting the charaters.

It really sucks you didn't have a good cruise, I loved mine.

Sambycat, I think we were on the same cruise, 12/6. A very memorable cruise for both of us! Can't wait to read your wedding TR see what you think of Dream! :goodvibes

I know!! Who thinks to have wedding guests stand for a ceremony?? especially in the Caribbean sun!?!?!?

Ew on the fingernail! and as bad as this sounds, I am glad to know that atleast someone else had a "not so magical" cruise.....makes me feel a bit better. As for the Vista Spa....I wasn't impressed with how they did my hair, but I was pleased they did allow my daughter to go in and get her's done. so i'll give them stars for that.

I have to say that I am totally jealous of your cake! Like you and the sand ceremony, I was told absolutely no changes to the cake. The one I got was really yummy, and pretty compared to the disaster at our at home reception, but you got what I wanted. LOL!

UGH don't get me started on the Sand Ceremony.....which is still sitting sealed up in the box, undone, 8 months afterwards. :headache: I still smile about the cake....I mean come on....black icing.....but atleast it was what I wanted. and it DID taste heavenly! :woohoo: And my Epcot Shoot is the only thing I am 150% so pleased we did. I LOVE all of our pics and my hair was great and Dh had a good time....seriously, we should have just stopped there. :rotfl:

It really sucks you didn't have a good cruise, I loved mine.

I'm glad you had a lovely time......We'll give them another chance once the price comes down.

Saturday December 11th - VOW RENEWAL DAY!!!

After a long and, let's face it, crappy night....we all relaxed and stayed in bed until 8am! :cool1: Even being an inside cabin, my kids won't sleep in. So we got up and got dressed and headed up to Beach Blanket for Breakfast. Met some of the family on the way....

I do have to say that I enjoyed the variety of food that was served up at BBB. The kids had mickey pancakes, I had an omlet one day, there was always fresh fruit and pastries.....cereals.....pretty much everything anyone could want for breakfast, it was there. And all I had to do was ask a waitor for some Soy Milk for Joey and he got it....so much better than dinner. :thumbsup2

Since my original plan was to be pampered and scrubbed in the Exotic Rasul that morning, we didn't really have any plans. We figured we would get off and explor the straw market for a bit, then just hang in the pool. My sister and her family, my parents and Melissa were all going off renting mopeds and exploring the island.

It was much warmer down on the island that it was up on the ship! Ugh it was so muggy and humid and sticky....i'd forgotten how horrible it can get in the bahamas....to think i did that for 2 years. The heat...and the wonderous "sights" of Nassua, not to mention the walking, did the kids in before we even left the port. But we persisted and made it to the straw market, went in one end and walked straight out the other end. :rotfl: We did buy the kids these adorable little turtle things....then headed back to the ship for some fun in the pool!!

It's probably about 1030am when we hit it back up to the pool. We see my brother, sil and their kids up there. It was nice to finally just kick back and relax, no where to go, nothing to hurry up for. the kids had a great time in the pool, Jackie just have gone down their little waterslide a million times. Joey was too small....and Joe was too big. :rotfl: (Our next cruise must have a waterslide for the WHOLE FAMILY!.....it's the LAW now :lmao: ) Cooking with Ratoutille was supposed to start at 1115am and Jackie had been talking about that ever since we saw it online! She was so excited to do it.....but once she was in the pool, the kids club lost out. So no ratoutille for us.

Suddenly this HUGE BLACK cloud appears out of nowhere, and i mean NOWHERE!! Torrential rain begins to fall on us so hard and fast it's hurting!! We scramble to get our 2, plus my brother's 3 kids out of the pool, all our camera's and phones and Ipods and shoes scrambled up and out of the rain. Ugh what a mess. Delaney slipped on the deck and skinned her knee, so they ran down to the cabin to clean her up, we went in for Lunch.

Joe asks me at lunch about the rain. I'm so not worried.....it never rains for more than 20 minutes in the bahamas unless you are in hurricane season.....the sun will come back up and it'll be hotter and more humid than before. As the rain starts to fall harder and harder..... :scared1:

We hung out in BBB for lunch for almost an hour!! Just waitng and hoping the rain will stop. It lets up a little bit...then just starts all over again. Jackie and I have our hair appt's at 2pm, so we decide to head down to the cabin and get stuff ready. We aren't in the cabin for more than 5 minutes before Imran calls and said the captain moved our ceremony inside to the lounge. I have to give myself a huge pat on the back for not completely loosing it and having a hysterical fit right then and there. Could my VR end up any further from my dream than inside a dark crummy old lounge!?!?!? I remember duing the planning phase, Brianna told me that if our group got any bigger, we'd have to move inside as Deck 7 only holds 18 guests. I knew we were still waiting on answers from 4 grandparents....if they said yes, we'd be inside. I told Joe that i would tell my brother and sister not to bring their kids before we went inside to do it! I can have a ceremony at home in a dark crummy lounge! why would i want to spend all this money to not be out IN THE SUNSHINE with the BEAUTIFUL BLUE OCEAN right behind me!??!?!

But...there was nothing that could be done....it was raining, and even if it did stop soon, it had rained so hard for so long, the deck was soaked and it couldn't dry in time.....I didn't want to risk slipping and falling in my heals and dress. So we were moved into the Cadillac Lounge. New invitations were delivered to all our guests (Dang it, except my videographer girl....I had a girl on my DIS Cruise group who was going to video for us......I didn't have her cabin assingment so she didn't find out we were moved. no video for me.) I personally called everyone and left messages too, just to double check, then Jackie and I headed up to the Vista Salon to get our hair done.

I was worried about taking Jackie up to the adults only salon. I knew that she would act like the perfect little lady and no one would be bothered by her, but i wasn't sure if someone else would feel upset that they bent the rules and let her in. But as we were finishing up, a little boy walked in for just a general hair cut. So obviously that no children rule is pretty worthless.

I have to say that i wasn't really impressed with either of our hair. I wanted my hair to be done exactly like Beaute Special had done it for our Epcot shoot, and while it was kinda the same, the curls were no where near as big and fluffy, and it fell sooo flat. and Jackie had this annoying bang thing going on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0023-1.jpg

I hate the way it was just hanging there...annoying me.

We left the salon about 330pm and found Tory waiting for us outside the cabin! And Joe and Joey asleep inside! :rotfl:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0019.jpg

UP next....Pictures finally!!

(side note.....I did mention the car accident teaser. As i said, while we relaxed on the boat in the pool, everyone else rented mopeds on the island. on a tiny little dirty island where they drive on the wrong side of the road. there were 2 seperate accidents. Melissa and Michelle both pretty much did the same thing, wiped out turning a corner. nothing was serious, but they both got some serious road rash, and Michelle had the moped fall ontop of her and she couldn't get it off. She limped around the rest of the cruise and had a huge nasty lump on her ankle. and this was all before the rain! :rotfl: they were lucky enought to be at Fort CHarlotte when the rain came and we almost drowned inside the fort!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Cruise/Melissa008.jpg

Melissa said about 30 seconds after this pic was taken, the rain started. and that staircase was full of water within 3 minutes. :rotfl: )

Getting Ready :

My flowers and Jackie's rose wand had been delivered while we were getting our hair done. I was sooooo happy with my flowers. It was a big concern for me, as I wanted to make sure the colors were right and not too reddish. I LOVED my flowers! They were perfect, I was so happy I went with the roses. I got the Rose Want (and Palo Flowers to be seen later) from Shirley at The Perfect Gift in Cape Canaveral. She's highly recommended on the DCL Forum and I can see why. the Wand and flowers were beautiful.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0049.jpg

Whew...one thing i didn't really think about was the crappy lighting inside the cabin. we had an inside cabin so it was all artificale light, and had this funky orange glow to everything. So I was trying to redo what Lane had done for the Epcot shoot, and I normally suck at putting makeup on, so considering the circumstance, I think i ended up looking rather normal and not clownish. :thumbsup2

I figured it was best to do my make up and stuff like that before we needed to wake Joey up. the longer he slept the better it would be for everyone. :littleangel: So Jackie and I got ready in total silence, except for the click of Tory's camera.

Friday December 11th, part 2 - VOW RENEWAL DAY!!!

Once Jackie was dressed and ready to go....I had to hurry and get dressed. I was running a bit behind schedule, and Imran was supposed to be there to get in me in about 15 minutes!! YIKES!!

first, stuff my big ol' mommy body into this tiny little piece of fabric. :lol2:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0137.jpg

then try and zip up my dress while my daughter is laughing at me.

The Set Up:

I did end up going with all disney songs for everyone to walk in to. Joe absolutely would not allow the bridal march to be played, which was fine with me. I had a disk and walking instructions for Imran that I gave him during our planning meething the day before, and he had listened to the disk and made himself notes so he could que everything up proplery due to space constraitns....the lounge had a pretty small aisle. :rotfl:

Joe and Joey walked into to Little Wonders from Meet the Robinsons
Jackie walked in to Wish upon a Star
I walked in to Everyday from High School Musical....but just the begining portion.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0033.jpg

I like these because you can see the lace bunting they had up on the alter/gazebo thing-y.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/Tory/DSC_0035.jpg

I have to say, from the very begining of the planning I said absolutely no way would we do an inside ceremony. Why pay all that money to have the ceremony in a dark lounge? I could do that at home for free!!! But obviously the weather was not cooperating with me. I will say again, I am SOOO amazed at the restrait I showed. Looking back now, I have no idea how I didn't go all diva-bridezilla on everyone for the rain ruining my day. But Imran and the staff did a really great job making the lounge look so nice and I was so focused on everything else.......I didn't even notice there was a car as the bar until looking at pictures at home!!

Without being able to do the sand ceremony I knew the ceremony would be really quick and it was.....I think the whole thing took about 5 minutes. But Joey still got antsy waiting around.

after our very quick dance it was time to cut the cake! I stressed and stressed and stressed about the cake for 18 long months!! in the end I had "settled" on their plain blank white cake with no decorationgs at all. I was even providing my own floral topper for the cake! (remind me again what i was paying DCL for?? I provided EVERYTHING for this VR!) so when I got on board i have no idea why i decided to show him the picture of the cake i really wanted....but I did. And he took it to the chef and he said they could make it!! I was so happy to get something other than a blank sheet, I couldn't care less about the black icing.

After cake and champagne, Imran told us it was already 530pm and we hadn't even gone out for pictures yet!! We had a Palo reservation at 6pm so if we planned on getting any pictures around the ship, we had to go. Plus we had 7 kids to get to the kids club and 2 "teens" to get to the dining room on their own. So we had to boogie. But after a quick look outside to check on the rain.......we noticed it was DUSK!!! Why the heck did NO ONE think to remember the sun sets earlier in December than July!?!?! We had missed all the daylight and if we wanted to get any pictures outside at all, we had to go NOW! So we didn't get anything on the inside of the ship. :sad2:

here is our ceremony:

Our Vows

On behalf of the entire ship’s complement, we are delighted to be part of this very special celebration, the renewal of Joseph and Jennifer’s commitment to each other made on their wedding day.
Joe and Jennifer,
During the intervening years, you have lived through sickness and health, pain and pleasure, failure and success.
Yet because of your love and commitment to each other, you have persevered through the bright sunlight of the mountaintops and the depths of the sea.
Your love has brought you to this joyous occasion, where hand-in-hand you renew your vows of love and trust in each other.

[Captain instructs couple to take hands]

These are the hands of your best friend,
young and strong and full of love for you.

They are being held by each other on this day as you renew your promise
to love each other for the rest of your lives.

The hands that you hold now are the very hands that will work along side you as you continue to build your future and life together, and share your innermost secrets, hopes and dreams.

These too are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are also the hands that will hold you when fear and grief threaten to overwhelm you.

These too are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy

These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children, and their children.

These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.

These are the hands that will be there to give you strength when you need it the most.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when becoming wrinkled and aged will be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

When you first joined hands and hearts 10 years ago, you did not know where life would take you. You promised to love, honor and cherish one another through all things. Life has surely brought you both wonderful blessings and difficult tribulations. And you remained steadfast and true to each other. Therefore, you have fulfilled your promise! So, as you come here today to reaffirm your wedding vows and as you reflect back over the years together as husband and wife, do you now reaffirm the vows you took 10 years ago? If so, repeat after me.

Vows:
[These are “repeat after me” responses]

Jennifer, please look into Joe’s eyes and repeat after me—

Joe – 10 years ago, I stood with you before family and friends and promised to love, honor and cherish you;
Once again, I take your hand as my partner.
Joe, I take you this day and for all days as my husband.

Joe, please look into Jennifer’s eyes and repeat after me—

Jennifer- 10 years ago, I stood with you before family and friends and promised to love, honor and cherish you;
Once again, I take your hand as my partner.
Jennifer, I take you this day and for all days as my wife.

Ring Exchange (Repeat after me)

Jennifer, please place this ring on Joe’s finger and repeat after me.

Joe, I believe in this marriage more strongly than ever.
it is with joy born of experience and trust
that I commit myself, once again, to be your wife.
And, I affirm this commitment by giving you this ring.
Wear it in memory of this moment and in honor of all the moments we shall share together.

Joe, please place this ring on Jennifer’s finger and repeat after me.

Jennifer, I believe in this marriage more strongly than ever.
it is with joy born of experience and trust
that I commit myself, once again, to be your husband.
And, I affirm this commitment by giving you this ring.
Wear it in memory of this moment and in honor of all the moments we shall share together.

Sand Ceremony

Jennifer And Joseph have decided to include a Family Sand Ceremony as part of their Vow Renewal. [Family walks to sand table]

These four separate sand colors before you symbolize your separate lives of each member of your family prior to today. I ask that each of you take one of the jars of sand and pour it into the empty vase. As these four containers of sand are poured into the fifth container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be divided again neither shall your family be divided.

Pronouncement of Married couple

Because Joe and Jennifer have remained committed to each other in marriage, and have witnessed this before family and friends, reaffirming their acceptance of the responsibilities of such a union, and have once again pledged their love and faith to each other, sealing their vows in the giving and receiving of rings, and their commitment to each other and their family with the sand ceremony, I do proclaim that they are still, Husband and Wife. Let all people here and everywhere recognize and respect this union, now and forever.

Blessing

Friends, watch these hands that you see before you this day.
May they always be held by one another.
Give them the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment.
Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love.
Help these hands to continue building a relationship, rich in caring, and devoted each other and their family.

May Joe and Jennifer see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

Joseph, you may once again, kiss your bride!

Yay! Thanks for adding this! Gotta keep your "fan club" happy, ya know?! :rotfl2:
We are also adding "The Blessing of the Hands" to our VR! I read the 'standard' DCL vr script and wasn't impressed. Definitely needed to add some more meaningful verses!
Sorry, your day wasn't as you'd imagined! :sad1:
You LOOKED like you had a great time though!
I keep hoping ours goes off w/o a hitch. We don't have a "wedding party" of any kind so that should loosen things up a bit. It will just be myself, DH, DS 7, DS 9. DH thinks it's a lot of expense for just the four of us. I completely agree but it was important to me. So, he gave in! I pray it goes well or I'm NEVER going to hear the end of it!
It's also important to me to get "married" outside. Otherwise, why pay for all this?!? I just didn't realize, when I booked on a NEW ship, that everything would be different than the other 2 ships and that there would be no outdoor venue! :scared1:
Guess I'll have to make up for it with great pictures outside....hopefully BEFORE sunset!!
I need a few more ideas for some great outdoor shots.....

I had Amanda for hair and I liked her very much! Grace was our photographer and Sarah was our onboard coordinator. Both very nice! I really wanted an outdoor ceremony and was disappointed that they never found a spot for it. Outlook was ok, but very small. Luckily we didn't have any guests, just DH, myself, and 2 DS's. We added "blessing of the hands" vows to the reg DCL script. I thought that helped quite a bit. Our boys were ring bearers so that made the ceremony feel more special and personal. Wasn't impressed with captain Tom. He seemed very rushed and not very friendly. Grace took over 200 photos and I was pleased with the shots she got. We ended up buying the cd with our pkg b/c we couldn't decide.
All in all, a lovely experience. Just not sure it was worth ALL of the money involved. Might have been more "worth it" if some of our family had been able to join us.
I posted many pics on my VR PJ, if anyone is curious about different ideas for their upcoming special day. Just follow the link in my signature.
I love getting ideas from other trip journals. The "funnel pic" idea came from another VR bride and that shot is now one of my faves! :lovestruc
