Now you have the whole day at CC and you don't have to worry about changing and getting everyone ready early in the morning. I think it would be great if you could do the ceremony and then go up to palo shortly after for dinner. As much as you hope/think it will rain, you don't want your beach day ruined either.
Congrats on having your cruise paid for - I am sure that alone takes a lot of stress off. I hope things get better for you guys! Assuming the boat isnt' sold out I am sure they will upgrade you. I think its a smart decision!

I want you to know that I totally understand where you're coming from in your current situation. I live in Flint, MI (the birthplace of General Motors) so I see this happening to our friends and family everyday.
Despite, the circumstances you are still getting your VR and as you mentioned you will be with all of your family which is the most important thing :bride: We will definitely keep our fingers crossed for lots of extra pixie dust!!
I was just down in your neck of the woods for my cousin's graduation. He graduated from a small college in Warsaw, so we were down near Fort Wayne over the weekend.

If you've managed to escape the economic crisis that has gripped our nation for the past 12 months, than consider yourself very very lucky. We haven't been so lucky. Dh and I are both pretty heavily tied to the automotive industry and our finances are a MESS right now! While I havn't been layed off yet.....things don't look good for my company. And even though Dh isn't in danger of being laid off, his work has dropped of drastically in the past 4 months. We're down about $800-1200 a month! No place at all for saving extra money for an expensive vacation. Time to be frugal and practical.....
The cruise itself was mostly paid for...just a small balance left due. So what we have done is drop from the balcony in Cat 6 down to a gty Cat 12. Hopefully we'll get a nice upgrade ( PLEASE pray for that, i'm so not looking forward to 3 days in an inside with 2 small children!) and most importantly....we've switched to the Deck 7 ceremony.:guilty: I am a little bummed about it.....it was my dream to have it right on the beach. But when you really think about it....the where and when are not what is important here. This is about family being together and celebrating what we have! So this is what we have done....and hopefully we'll get a great discount code or an awesome promo for the WDW stay and that will knock the price down for that.
I'm sorry all that economic stuff is happening to you two now. Blecch.:sad2: I will pray that you get an upgrade, and I'll report back if I see any codes come out! :grouphug:

I am so sorry about your situation.:hug:I completely know where you are coming from.
I have two jobs- one as a Realtor, and we know how that has been for the past year, and the other as a photographer. I do not get a steady paycheck, and the amount we bring in is diminshing monthly. It has gotten so bad, that I think that we might have to close the photo studio and run it from our home. -Which is not good for business. I am going to have to go out and get another job at this rate, if I am able to find one. I am hoping to teach in the fall since I graduate soon. But they have been letting teachers go too, so I don't know how it is possible.
I am glad that we have paid for all that we have. I know that you will still have a wonderful day! Let's hope and pray that things will get better soon.

Jen,
Sorry to hear this , but the good part is your still going. I wish you tons of pixie dust pixiedust: on your Cruise and Vow Renewal. It stinks that won't be on the beach but I'm sure the deck will beautiful as well. And you'll have your family and adorable children there too. I can completely relate to your situation. My DH is also in the auto business. He sells Infiniti, Porsche, Audi & Jaguar. Our monthly income is half right now with the economy :sad2: and now we have bills from buying necessities. If our trip wasn't paid for we wouldn't be going either, but this will be it for us for a long time.

Thanks girls! :lovestruc I did what no Bride is supposed to do...i had the entire day marked out in my head! :sad2: Everything was going to be perfect on the beach. But oh well... I'm actually over it right now. Stressing about the trip is the farthest thing from my mind right now actually. :lmao: It's stressing about grocerys now! :rotfl: JK.....it's not that bad...yet anyway.
So tonight is DD's Kindergarten graduation and program! OMG this year has just flew by!! I posted pics from her Preschool graduation at the begining of this PJ, and now here she is all done with kindergarten.
I sent in the deposit for my bouquet for the Epcot bridal shoot. That is for now still on the schedule since it doesn't have to be paid for until we actually take the shoot. Plus the bouquet was only $80 and I just love it! I may ask disney floral to substitute my bouquet from that package to some cake topper floral and maybe just a bunch of table decoration flowers instead. We'll see.......

That's a great idea!
Hey, have you seen these? It is a wrapper for a Hershey fun size candy bar. I found it on the DISigns board. I think I am going to print some out for our trip. I thought you could use it.

I'm sorry to hear that but the important thing here is that the wedding is still on! Like you said, it really doesn't matter so much where....it's the reason behind why you're doing it. Things are going to turn around before too long anyway. The US just needed a reality check. Homes, Cars, and Gas prices got way out of control. I think the "bail outs" should be going to us if they're doing such a thing and the companies they should let fail. They're the ones who tricked the American people into spending beyond their means. :rolleyes1 Ugh! I just hate hearing that mess. An inside cabin won't be so bad. You wont be spending a whole lot of time in there anyway. :goodvibes But I do hope you get an upgrade too. :wizard:

Well just like Lisa said they would....DCL opened up some more Cat 12's last night and we were able to switch! YAY soo happy!! So that is taken care of. I think BFF will be a little bit upset when she finds out our cabins are not next to each other anymore (since she is a single) but she'll still be in the same area as my family so it'll be all good.
The more time passes, the more OK i am with the shipboard cereremony. It's just going to make eveything so much smoother. We won't have to re-dress in our fancy clothes after CC beach day like we originally would have for Palo dinner that night! Now we'lll just go from the ceremony on Deck 7 to feeding the kids, then off to Palo for the adult dinner! And everyone is going to be able to enjoy and relax on our last day! That in itself is a BIG plus for me! I was kind of bummed that i didn't do the land portion after the VR. Because we'll have the 5 days at WDW, then the cruise, and it was going to be the VR the last day of the trip! Now we will atleast have 1 "honeymoon" day to relax and unwind. So i'm all good now with the decision. It'll be perfect in my mind again!
So my next hurdle to overcome is finding clothing for Joey. There simply are no ivory shirts for little boys. So i'm either going to have to get White and dye it with Tea like Lisa and Betsy said to....or go with a different color like lite blue or yellow. I'd rather not do either of those options! :rotfl: I've also realized that i'm going to be spending a lot on his outfit too!! GESH! I also need to get Shoes for Joe now. Since we aren't on the beach anymore....we'll all need shoes.
LittleStinkerbelle

Congrats on the switch:banana:. Glad you're feeling good about the on-board ceremony. When we were considering a DCLVR not having to get re-dressed and having a day to "chill" after the ceremony were selling points for going on-board for us too.

Hey there, I'm just catching up on things. I'm sorry things are tough financially, these really are difficult times.
That being said, it sounds like your plan will work out well- and maybe be even better than on the beach in the end. Pixie dust for your room upgrade too:)
You are right, and I remind myself of this too- the most important thing is us being together, and celebrating our love. The extras are just that, extras. You've got the right perspective on this! And that's the lesson you will give your children :goodvibes

Not sure how I missed your PJ, but I love all your plans for your VR. I'm living through all the DCL brides!
All your DIY projects are awesom, I love Lady and the Tramp, too cute.
I'm sorry to hear about your financial squeeze, DFi and I are definitely feeling it and we're getting married in Jan 2010, so I totally know how that goes. Just know we are all here with ya :wizard:
You're right, they must not make ivory shirts for little boys. However, what about a polo, not sure what type of shirt you were looking for, or how old your son is, but you may have a better shot with a polo. Or you good always do a pale pink :confused3 that could look cute.
Look forward to more updates!!

With less than 6 months until we leave for Disney, it's time to get started finishing all my projects! :lmao: I guess i can check off the Mickey Flip Flops, since the ceremony won't be in the sand anymore, i'm not wearing them. I'll stick with my bridal shoes instead. but now i have to find shoes for Dh. That's gonna be difficult, he's worse than a woman when it comes to shoes! ;)
As for ds's attire, i FINALLY found some shirts that may work, both at Old Navy and Baby Gap. Old Navy is out of his size (in white) and Baby Gap has some in Blue. I'd love to find a Pink one, since DD and I will both have Pink on, it just seems that Blue would look out of place. But if Blue is all i can find, than Blue it will be!! I'm sure pants will be rather easy. I have no idea about shoes for him though.....i don't know if I"ll be able to find some island style brown sandles in such a small size. Oh and I guess i need to work on shoes for Dd too! She'll love that! :thumbsup2
So i sat down last week and finally narrowed down all the song choices! I'm going to talk to my WP about 2-3 months before we sail, to have her check wtih the Piano Player and see if he'll need copies of anything besides the Country stuff. I don't know if he would know some of the more obscure Disney ones.
Prelude / Groom entrance - Little Wonders - Meet the Robinsons
Bridal Processional - Belle Notte - Lady and the Tramp
Sand Ceremony - You'll be in my Heart - Tarzan
Recessional - Ever Ever After - Enchanted
Cake Cutting - Electric Light Parade - Magic Kingdom
1st Dance - I thought I loved you Then - Brad Paisley
"reception" - From this Moment - Shania Twain
You're Still the One - Shania Twain
Living our Love Song - Jason Michael Carrol
I couldn't really come up with anything else for the Cake Cutting. :rotfl: Oh well, i like that song a lot!
I found out that we CAN use bio-degradable freeze dried rose petals on board, but Disney does not carry them, so i'll have to get them on my own. WOW! I'm sure that'll save a lot $$$$, since they wanted $135 to lightly cover the aisle. I'll get some for DD's basket, the aisle, and for rose petal cones. I've decided against the bubbles. I like the rose petals better! :thumbsup2
I also found out that they will not let me exchange the bouquet for the Rose Wand, boutineer for Ds and Fresh Floral topper. Boo! I've got my bouquet for the Epcot Shoot, figured i'd just use that on the ship too. Oh well. I may see if The Perfect Gift can do a rose wand.
And lastly i am waiting to hear back from Brie about the ceremony and how the Sand Ceremony will fit in. I think when Patty did her's last year, she said the Captain didn't do it, so they just did the sand after he was all finished. I don't want to just walk behind him after we kiss! I want it to actually be a part of the ceremony, not just an afterhought. So we'll see how that battle goes!

Bridal shops don't carry the color shirt you are looking for? I thought they could get anything.
I like your music choices. After all this you'll be able to plan Disney weddings for a living! I think all of the new plans sound great! Cat 12 will work out too. How often will you be in the room anyway?
I can not wait to read this trip report!!!!

Ha! Bridal shops have practically NOTHING for little boys. if you ain't looking for a tux, don't even bother!
But i did get the one from Old Navy! OMG it's perfect! Well, except that it's white and not ivory. But Betsy says i can make it ivory by using Tea. So we'll try that, it was only $14.50! And i got a super cute hawaiian print one, a pair of shorts and khaki pants! He'll be stylin!
I'll try and get pics tonight of his and Dh's outfit!

157 days until we arrive at WDW and stay at Ft Wilderness! :smickey:
161 days until Dessert Party with the girls!! :woohoo:
162 days until we sail!
163 days until Vow Renewal
OMG! What happened to the 18 months i had to plan this!?!?!? :rotfl:
I got the shapewear for my dress, works WONDERFULLY! I love it. Although it is quite the adventure to get it on! :lmao: It took Dh and I 15 minutes to get me in it! I will definatly have to remember to put it on BEFORE Ana comes to do my hair and makeup for the Epcot Shoot. No idea what i'll do on the ship! And i did wear it once already under a sun dress, to see how it feels after being worn for more than 2 minutes. I like it, but like most spandex/shapewear stuff, it rolls up at the bottom. I told Joe I was going to get some garters to keep it from rolling up. Yeah, he liked that idea! The only issue i have is that it really holds things in, which is what it is supposed to do. Well, it also holds in what tiny little bb's i have! I want clevelage!! So i really need to find a seamstress and talk about having cups added. I wonder if I shouldn't just bite the bullet and go back to David's Bridal. I really don't need anything done other than cups. Otherwise it fits perfectly!
Ok, let's see.....I have my new Ruby Ring for the ring, and the Ruby Journey Necklace. I think since my hair will be down, i'm not really going to worry too much about earrings. I have my ruby studs that Joe gave me for our 1st anniversary in 1 hole. I'll wear those. If I can find a cute pair of Mickey ones, i'll wear those, otherwise I think i'll just stick with my tiny diamond hoops. I'm not big on costume type jewerly, so can't see spending $50-100 on Jewerly that i know i won't like. :rolleyes1 The only thing i was thinking about was a braclet. But then i found these that i bought like a year ago when we first started planning. I bought them on Ebay from China for like $2 each! :cool1: I'm sure they will break and fall off by the end of the day, but it will work for pics.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun061.jpg
They are very sparkly.
And here is my new Lady and the Tramp pin! Maybe i'll pin it to my bouquet or inside my garter, something like that.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun059.jpg
I got these pails at Target, 2 for $1! I love the pink color, and i'm going to use my Happily Ever After ribbon and fill them with candy and have them on the table at Palo. I was originally thinking the Disney Wedding M&M's......but they will have to fly down with us, spend a week at the Ft Wilderness, than bus to the ship, and a day in the cabin before the ceremony. I just don't know what M&M's will look like after that. They may not Melt in your Hand, but i'm sure they will melt in little favor bags! :rotfl: So maybe some Disney sweettarts or something like that. got to look into that.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun062.jpg
And finally....kids welcome bags!! (I need to shop for the adult bags too!)
My plan is to get little canvas purse type bags at Hobby Lobby and put little jewel names and stuff on it for the girls. I have one bag...but i'm waiting for the next sale to get the jewels.
for Delaney, will be 5
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun051.jpg

for Jackie, will be 6

for Emma, will be 7

for Eddie ( I also want to get him a disney Sippie cup) will be 1
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun057.jpg
and these are left overs for the Fish Extender exchange. I have no idea what else i'm doing for that yet. And i have to make the FE too!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Wedding/SummerFun058.jpg
still need to decide what to get the 2 older boys. Sid will be 16, and Spencer will be 13. I am planning on getting them GC's for $15 for the arcade on board, but i don't know what else.....maybe a baseball hat or something.
Where does everyone get all the little bottles and stuff for the Welcome Bags? I saw some stuff at BB&B a few weeks ago, but that stuff was like $3 a bottle! UGH that would cost the same as the dang cruise to fill those bags!

I will definitlely post pictures after our cruise (we leave for Orlando in 42 days!).
We are doing a 3 day on the Wonder leaving on August 13 and have 21 attendees including DF and I. Our ceremony is on Castaway. I wanted to do a PJ but some of my guests (Future in-laws) are providing their share of drama :sad2:so my luck they would find my planning journal and caused problems!
Last week we got the information on our marriage license from the company Disney uses. We sent in our Planning kit about 3 weeks ago and so far have had only 1 or 2 questions from Brie mainly around details for our reception in Palo.
I have sent out 3 newsletters and have a Welcome Aboard newsletter that will go in our welcome bags. It has information on each day's activities and general information they may need (almost everyone is a first time Disney cruiser).
If there is anything I can help with or info I can report back on let me know...I'm happy to help!!

We are doing the photo package that inlcudes the CD of all the pictures. While I understand the new package only includes a certain number of pictures, our paperwork says a CD of all pictures and that's what I want!! Hopefully we don't have any problems!

I haven't decided if I'm doing bags yet, but one of my thoughts was to get a mega bottle of sunscreen at sam's club or the like, then buy smaller empty bottles to fill and personalize.

5 months!! OMG it's coming soon!!!
I'm working on the rose petal cones......WTH was i thinking!?!? OMG these are so hard to make!!! i've got 2 different designs and i can't tell which one is going to be easier to do. :rotfl: i need to sit down this weekend and seriously work on them....who wants to come babysit my kids so i can make rose petal cones?? :lmao:
Shoes for Dh, DS and DD are still an issue. the kids feet are growing like crazy, Joey's feet are now bigger than Jackies. I don't want to get their shoes too early. Jackie should be fine...i can get her white dress shoes anytime. It's Joey and Dh that i'm worried about. they may end up barefoot on deck if I can't get something figure out soon. the problem is that i have no idea what to get them! I look, but can't seem to find "dressy" men's sandals! Atleast nothing that my husband won't question his masculinty in. :sad2:
I've got the floral centerpieces on order for the Dinner in Palo! I'm getting small square vases with White Calla Lily's and Pink Roses....1 of each side of the long table. I think i'm going to look for some pink ribbon to wrap around the vase. That should look nice! I have to get the freeze dried rose petals for both Jackie's basket and the cake table....I wonder how early i can get that ordered? And i still need to determine where to get the colored sand from. I need to get moving or i'll be ordering and buying stuff last minute! Exactly what i DIDN"T want to do, thus why we started this 18 months in advance!

I just found your thread and this is is cool! My husband and I are going on a Disney, 7 day Eastern in September. We never had a wedding, just went to the DMV in Denver and got our marriage license. That is how they do it here in Colorado, you get your marriage license at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and they file the appropriate papers with the city to have it legal and on file. So we are legally married, just never had a ceremony or wedding of any kind!:(
So we have decided to do a vow ceremony on our cruise. It will be just us and the officer doing the officiating, but we think it is time to do the vows. We won't mind if other cruisers come round and watch. We have a Palo dinner scheduled right after the vows on deck! I think it will be perfect for us!
We were "married" in 2000! So your thread caught my eye and it does sound like a really memorable way to do it!
Congrats on your vow renewal! It sounds like it is going to be very beautiful and loving with family!
I am so looking forward to finally saying the vows to my husband and he is very excited as well! Ours will be very simple for us, since we won't have family along, but we are very simple anyway and this is the perfect style for us!!! :lovestruc:
What fun!:yay:

When we do our vow renewal, I need you to plan it :). All your ideas are great! love the kids goody pails, very cute. Also your song list :thumbsup2. The vases for Palo sounds very nice too. Love the Mickey Jewelry. I just checked for a Cruise quote but the Wonder is in Dry Dock during Kaylee's fall break and the Magic will be in Mexico, so that is out. :yay:For five more months. I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. It's going to be a beautiful vow renewal :goodvibes.

Hi Jennifer!
I haven't decided yet if I'm going to ship stuff directly to the ship, or have it sent to us at WDW and take it with us....need to figure that out. My only problem is getting it back home. we get back into port on Sunday...PO and UPS are not open on Sunday.

Jennifer,
You have done so much recently! I love your son's outfits! They are adorable. It is really hard to find cute clothes for little boys. There is just tons of stuff for girls, and the boys get completely neglected. I am so glad you were able to find a shirt at Old Navy. I love that store!
Your gifts for all the kids seem adorable! You have done so much. Good luck with the petal cones. If I lived closer I would totally help you. I am just too lazy to even attempt that! I would chuck the petals in a basket and tell everyone to grab a handful. :rotfl:
I cannot believe how close it is getting for both of us! I am starting to stress out about what still needs to get done! At least it is only a small list!
I hope some of these other DCL brides come back and post pictures!

Hi Tanya!
Did you know you can buy pre-made petal cones!?!??! :cool1::cool1::cool1: Check Ebay....about $1.50-$2.00 a cone...which considering the trouble i had just doing 1...sooooo worth it! :thumbsup2
I have to get started on tshirts for everyone and my FE! And my Mickey Fans!! Ugh...i looked....can't buy those anywhere! Seriously! Come on past disney brides!! Help us out here! :rotfl:

Good luck on the Mickey Fans! :thumbsup2
I want to make some for my at home reception since it will be outside. There is no telling with FL weather if it will be hot or freezing cold. I haven't seen paint stirrers in the stores lately though. Have you been able to get any? Ashley had to go to Home Depot and have some cut for hers.
Let me know how it goes!
Also, where are you going to order your petals from? I think that the cheapest I've seen them online is at Save-on-crafts.com
29apr00
07-26-2009, 09:27 AM
I'm just using regular craft sticks for the fans....popsicle stick ones.
As for the petals.....Brie told me they had to be freeze dried, not silk, incase they blow into the ocean. So i'm getting them from Fly boy naturals or something like that. I need to see how far in advance i can get those.:confused3
CinderelliT
07-26-2009, 12:20 PM
I am going to do the same thing and save $ since Disney will charge a fortune for a small amount of petals. I'll have to look, but I think save-on-crafts has cheaper freeze dried ones than flyboy naturals. But I'll have to compare the amount for the price. How many cups are you getting? Is it just going to be for your dd's basket?
I think that they will last for months at a time. Maybe order them in Nov?
Good idea to use popsicle sticks. I didn't think of that!:thumbsup2

07-26-2009, 02:10 PM
i'm going to need a lot i think....for dd's basket PLUS the rose petal cones i'm doing for the chairs.

07-26-2009, 06:40 PM
Just an FYI the Dollar stores sells the big popsicle sticks in packages of I think 30 or 50 for obviously $1! That's where I got mine.

4 months from today we land in MCO for our 1st trip to Ft Wilderness! SOOO EXCITED! More so than the VR, I just really need a vacation!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Ok, sent the planning kit back to Brie yesterday. I totally switched my flower choice from the tropical bouquet to the french rose bouquet. The tropical bouquet is calla lilys, and roses of your color choice. I'd have chosen white and light pink....with VERY LITTLE OF THE GREEN GRASSY Stuff. Well....it turns out...that was my original bridal bouquet! :rotfl: I was flipping thru the album this weekend while preparing for Jackie's bday party, and saw it! It looked just like what DCL would have given me. So i figured it was best to branch out! And since i didn't want to pay $50 more for the calla lily only bouquet....i decided to go with the roses. I like roses!:thumbsup2 So i'm requesting ivory, lite pink and bright pink roses. The planning kit shows a pretty full bouquet with wrapped stems.....so we'll see what happens.
My 105 day booking window for concierge on DCL is in less than 3 weeks. So i need to get final payment booked so i can get the hair appts booked and hopefully book the exotic rasul for Joe and I the moring of the VR. i would LOVE to book the Couples room for the 2 hr session....but man that's almost $500!!! NO WAY could i justify that! So we'll just do the rasul for a while.
Once i get the cruise paid in full, then i'm going to order the rose petal cones and i have to finalize the mickey fans. I need TIME!!!! Not time before the cruise, just time in general!! I can't seem to find time to do anything these days!! And i have a feeling once school starts....i'm just going to be even more busy!!

I ordered the M&M"s for the favor pails!! I can't wait for them to come in! I want to try them out and do a sample...but on the other hand i really don't want to open and unseal the bags!! I may just go to the candy store and grab a handful of pink and cream M&M's for show. they say "Joe&Jen 10 years" and "So Happy Together" . Happily ever after didn't fit.
MIL STILL has yet to start DD's dress!! We leave for WDW in less than 100 days!! I'm getting so pisssed off!! I'm this close to just buying her a damn dress! No dress means no shoes and undergarmets either! But that's ok...as her daddy and brother have no shoes either! Ugh....i hate shoe shopping!
I still need to finalize the monogram so i can get the aisle runner and petal cones ordered!
I decided i didn't really like the foundation garmet thing i got to wear under the dress. It certainly holds in my belly and thighs...but it also smooshes what tiny chest i have! Don't want that!! So now i'm on the hunt for something that "lifts and sepeartes" I think i found something from Fredericks of Hollywood...which is actually wear i got the one for our 1st wedding too. I don't think i'm going to do a garter....not a necissary purchase...but i may splurge and get a sexy garter belt and hose to wear. Joe likes that. the pink sash i will buy when i go for my fitting. Still need to decide on sand colors and buy those...and get the rose petals.

OMG! You are so organized. I need to start making lists to figure out what I am missing. You are so much more ahead than me.
I love the program fans! They turned out great! Love the disign on the front with the wedding rings and Lady and the Tramp. The jewelry all looks great too. Your daughter must feel so special to get a part of your bracelet.
I feel like this summer has just flown by and there's not enough time to get it all done. I still have alterations to schedule. I haven't even tried on my dress in months. I'm terrified it won't fit.
If you get a crown for your daughter, they have some cute ones on ebay that are Cinderella's pumpkin carriage. Most of them start at like $1. Check it out.
Let me know how many petals your are going to order. That's going to give me an idea about mine. I won't have a petal toss, just down the aisle.
Also, would you want your DD to carry a flower wand with silks? I could make you one if you want. Just let me know what type of flowers and colors of ribbon, and I can mail it to you. I love making that sort of stuff. It would save you some money.
Let me know.

I agree you are so organized. I would love you to plan my vow renewal, that is if we ever do one at this point. Our 10th Anniversary is December 3. When is yours officially? I love the new rings, very pretty. Are you arriving at Disney on the 5th? Do you plan on going to the MVMCP?

Laura - i don't even know if cups will fit in that dress! I so need to try it on again....see how much i really can't eat for the next month!
Tanya - AW So sweet! Thanks..but we're covered with the rose wand. I need to look at the rose petals again...i can't remember what i said i was goign to get.
Nicole - i'm so bummed you wont' make it for your anniversary! We do arrive on the 5th, and were planning on doing MVMCP but i think now we will just wait and see how we feel when we get there. i'm positive it won't sell out so we'll make that decision when we get there. Our actual anniversary isn't until April 29th...but it's a lot more $$$ to cruise in April. :rotfl:

I need to figure out how much to not eat as well! I need to put on my spanx - they do work wonders and I'll probably have cups sewn in. I always have extra room up top. Now if only there was a way to squeeze it from my belly up to the bra area, I'd be all set!:rotfl:

i ordered the Petal cones today!
I ordered the photos for the autograph books too. last year i printed the cards myself...but it took SOOOOOO Long and i went thru so much ink $$$!! Plus i have 4 extra to do for the kids on the ship! So i just uploaded the cards to photoworks and printed them......less than $40, and since I"m pretty sure i went thru almost 2 ink cartridges last year...works for me!

Jen your itinerary looks awesome! Can't wait to finally meet you on the 9th!!! :dance3:
WOO HOO!! I have to update my to-do tomorrow! I think its growing!?!?!!
Great itinerary! I am also planning to do DHS on the morning of the 6th, so maybe I'll see you there! :thumbsup2
WOO HOO!! I'll have my bride ears on!
I've just read your whole PJ and now my brain hurts so I can't come up with any witty comments so I'll just say I loved how you and your DH got together and good luck with the rest of your list. 3 Months to go!!!
Thanks Claire!! We're proud of our unusual start...and that we've made it this far!
My MK photoshoot is on the 9th as well, so I'll definitely be there that day!
so you WILL be at WDW after your cruise! WOO HOO We will soooo have to find a time to meet!! Where else will you be??

Where ever you are! I'll probably only be there on the 9th. It depends on what Dan's family is doing. I'll have to get in a nap, since I have to be ready by 5AM:scared1: But other than that, Dan and I were hoping to wander around the parks and enjoy ourselves without children! Maybe we can actually go on a grown up ride.
Let me know what you are doing!
Btw...all of your stuff looks fantastic!!! It all came out so nice and love, love, love all the Disney touches.
Where did you get the sand castle image?

I know for sure the 9th we will only be in Epcot...we have ADR's for breakfast and dinner, plus the dessert party! So if that's your only day...we may have some issues! ;) The sand castle image came from the DISIgn board....Natalie maybe??

I just realized Kris and I are going to be in Orlando the week after you :sad2: We are coming down Dec. 16-20 to do some other things in the area besides Disney. Probably will only hit up the MVMCP there and dinner one night at Ohanas.

we bought Jackie a dress!!!
1) i got tired of waiting for MIL to get around to making one!
2) we were at JCPenney getting blue jeans and she saw one of the Cinderella dresses on the rack and threw a lovely little princess hissy fit about trying it on. so mommy gave in. :lmao: and she LOVED it!

i'm going to try and find a pink flower to put on instead of the ivory one. it's got a safety pin type clasp so i could easily switch the flower.
now i can buy her shoes and a slip!
Petal cones......not sure which ribbon to use. the great thing about the girl doing a typo is that i can practice on the bad ones! :rotfl2:
sheer pink?

I think the sheer pink....but wonder if I can find one a bit darker. you can hardly tell it's pink. but then again.....i have SO MANY ROLLS OF RIBBON! i'm gonna open a ribbon store when i done with this!
I also started on the fish extender....finally! I'm cheating....i bought the embroidery appliquest to put on instead of doing them myself. i just didn't want to do it. :rotfl: maybe if I did it back 6 months ago when i bought all the stuff! I have a Lady & the Tramp one on order from Ebay....should be here next week sometime!

That is so true! We're going down to Lafayette, IN in a few weeks to visit family so we'll be through your neck of the woods again. Also, Kris just found out yesterday that there are so many days before the end of the year that he is required to take off at work. One of them is the week before we go, so we're shifting our trip. I already made the new hotel reservations and thankfully we hadn't bought our plane tickets yet.
I'm just upset because I got up early to make 2 Ohanas reservations since I didn't know what day I wanted and now I can't get any for our new dates :headache: We'll be in Orlando now Dec. 10-14; I don't remember if that coincides with your dates I will have to check.
I think the dress your daughter picked out is very pretty. Adding a pink flower should be a perfect touch!
Also, I vote for the sheer pink too!

Your DD looks so cute in her dress!
Our nana sews and also has the Disney embroidery machine, but I cannot rely on her to do anything on time as promised! I've just stopped asking! She usually gives us great shirts, etc. for birthday and Christmas. She started a princess dress for my DD over a year ago and never finished it! I don't think it will even fit her if she even gets it done. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but it can be a bit frustrating. So I completely understand your stress over the dress.
So glad you were able to get one she loved!
I also like the pink sheer ribbon.

I did get a pink sash instead of the ivory. i left it there to get pressed with the dress and i'll pick it up on 10/30.
still need to do:
order sand for the sand ceremony
order rose petals
order sheet music
shoes for DD, DH, and DS
Make flowers for cake
necklaces for DD and I
make shirts and magnets for door.

3- Aisle runner - DONE!! WOO HOO did that take a long time to do! It's not perfect up close, but it'll look ok on the deck.
4 - started packing...OMG the kids have SOO MANY CLOTHES for the cruise it isn't even funny! You'd think it was a 14 day cruise instead of 3 day! I'm just doing jeans and t-shirts probably for wdw....depends on the weather.
haven't bought anything else as the FPT for wdw is due tomorrow and with missing 3 days of work when Jackie was out with strep..there isn't any extra cash. Ugh! But i still have time!

Totally sent myself to the poor house this weekend!! :scared1: But i got lots of stuff ordered!
Shoes for Jackie:
the ones I originally wanted weren't availabie in her size! BOO!! so i had to find new ones!
http://www.therosedress.com/picupload/Image1LG/TTS30pic1.jpg
very cute...and again, totally wearable again!
ordered the rose petals from Flyboynaturals.com - i thought they were rather expensive, but i looked at saveoncrafts.com and couldn't find any pink ones!! :headache: how stupid! So i just went with these ones.
http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/flyboynaturals_2077_3170718
I got 50 cups....Jackie's basket to throw on the aisle, a few for the cake and sand table, and the 20 petal cones. i'm sure that should be plenty.
then i FINALLY got the shoes for Joe and Joey. :thumbsup2 i swear Joe should have been a woman, he's so horrible about shoes. In his defense, he does stand all day long and normally wears steel toe boots so he wan'ts nice comfortable soft shoes...which they just don't make sandles soft for guys! ugh! Finally he said ok to these.
Joeys -

and Joe's
http://www.payless.com/images/490x490/059014_4_490x490.jpg
And i also bought the rest of the stuff for the welcome bags. I had hand sanitizer and first aid kits from Lisa (THANK YOU!) and added shout wipes, clorox wipes, tums and tylenol. i'm not going to do any food/water/chips stuff like that....we'll have plenty of food on board! :yay: So now i just need to assemble all those and put them away to be shipped!!
Finished binding all the autograph books for the kids! I just need to get 1 more 5x7 cardstock book for a few last pages. The books for Jackie and Joey ended up still being too big for a regular comb type binding, so i had to do the big huge silver clips that go in 3 ring binders. it's not as stable as a regular book, but oh well. I think i forgot to get pics of those.
All the invitation letters, tip envelopes, and mousekeeping evenelops have been printed too!

everyone will get a license plate one and the blue square one. I'm still waiting on one more design, it's soo cute!

You have outdone yourself! Everything looks awesome. You look fabulous in your dress!!!!! Glad to see you smiling.
I need to make some thank you's for mousekeeping too. I also just finished my aisle runner tonight. Thanks for getting me moving on it. I was able to order pink petals from save-on-crafts. I wonder if I got the last of them. LOL! I might get more from flyboynaturals b/c they had some mixes on sale. We'll see. There is so much I want to do and money is getting tight as we get down to the wire.
I also do not know how we are going to get everything to the ship. We don't have our van anymore and we have a tiny car. My dress will take up the entire trunk! :rotfl:
Are you shipping stuff to the ship? I wonder if we should do that. I am just scared something will go missing.

Thank you so much ladies! I'm very happy with the dress and so glad i decided to stay with it. it's going to be a beautiful sunny day with gorgeous blue ocean behind me and it'll be PERFECT!!!
Are you shipping stuff to the ship? I wonder if we should do that. I am just scared something will go missing.
I am...but OMG it's gonna be a lot!! The aisle runner is 3' wide!! WTH am i gonna ship that in!?!?! Rose petals i'll leave in their shipping container so they don't get smushed, same with teh M&M's so they don't melt. Then i have the Sand Ceremony Glass vases and sand, our toasting flutes, rose petal cones, dd's flower girl basket, cake topper and floral, and the programs! I have no idea what i'm going to do! I need to head out to Boxes plus or something and see if I can find a 3' long box to fit the aisle runner, and hopefully stuff all the other boxes in too! I dont' want to send 3-4 boxes of stuff.

I know what you mean about shipping, I was shocked when we took all of our items to UPS. It cost us about $120 to ship everything including my dress. We ended up having to buy a few boxes. A tip - Uhaul has tons of unique size and shapes of boxes if you need anything; you have to buy them but it was totally worth it!

I actually have the box the runner was shipped in atleast. but i wanted a box to put that box in, along with everything else so i was sending just 1 box....i could see the big box making it and the aisle runner getting lost in DCL storage somewhere forever!

I know i've done stuff in the past 2 weeks....i just can't remember what it is! :rotfl:
I asked Brie about adding the hidden mickey crystals to my bouquet....waiting to hear back about that.
Got our cruise and WDW docs.
changed dd's flower pin on her dress to a pink rose from the blah ivory one. we need to go get her a slip to wear under her dress.....we'll do that this weekend.
Dh's pants are being hemmed....i need to take his shirt and dd's dress to the cleaners....need to do that ASAP!
I have to make the music CD....i've been putting it off because i know it's going to be a PITA to get everything edited the way i want...but oh well...has to be done.
Looks like it'll be 3 boxes sent to DCL and 1 box sent to WDW. I really only wanted to do 1 box to DCL as i'm afriad 3 will just get lost...but i can't condense any further without risking something breaking on the way down. ugh it's going to be such a PITA to try and get it all back!! Our flight leaves at 1150am...and it's a SUNDAY! Ugh nothing is going to be open to ship the stuff back.
Hmm....i should look at my To-do list and make sure i'm not forgetting anything.

all the loose ends are being tied up!!
Spoke with Brie.....7 Mickey Crystals are to be added to my bouquet. regarding the fully wrapped stems, the bouquet will actually be delivered and sit in water until i get it on Friday...so they can't fully wrap them. she said they would send along extra ribbon and i can wrap it myself after it's delivered....that's fine.
got the CD's made....DH had to help me i couldn't figure it out. And she said the piano player will be there during the ceremony to play music between dance and cake cutting. So that's taken care of.
Laundry is almost done and will go into the suitcase! 84 hours until we land!!!
I have to go to Hobby Lobby and get the sand, and make a CD of songs to play during our dinner at Palo...otherwise i'm good to go!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:: cool1::cool1:
So many last minute stuff to do!!
Stopped the paper and mail
went to the bank
stocked up on small travel size toiletries
dogs are vacationing at MIL's
Cake Class paperwork filled out for December
working 1/2 day tomorrow
DFTW confirmations are organized in binder
SUITCASES ARE PACKED!! I think they may even be under 50 lbs! :lmao:
bought the sand last night
bought an extra memory card...ya know...in case 4GB isn't enough
Dh and I have a stupid health screening for his company insurance plan tomorrow morning! UGH could it be at a worse time!?!?!? I'm sure my blood pressure will be wonderful at 7am tomorrow morning. i'm leaving work at noon then running home and packign up all the toiletires and last minute things. picking up BFF, then the kids, then dh and we are off!! Tonight i HAVE to sit down and make the playlist for our Palo dinner and get it on the Ipod...otherwise we'll have a quiet reception! :lmao: I also finally got the stroller ordered last night for WDW....stupid stroller in the stroller swap got LOST and Disney would charge $135 for their crappy hard stroller. Got a nice double jogging stroller from A Babies Best Friend for $95 delived to our resort. We've rented from them before.
Tried my dress on 1 last time last night...just because it was a teeny tiny bit tight at my last fitting. no issue, zipped right up even without the garmets underneath. good to go.....but i did get a bottle of water pills for the week just in case. :lmao:
ummm....i think that's it.

Hi ladies!! We're home....it's been a rough return. Jackie started getting sick at breakfast yesterday morning and was puking by the time we got off the ship....Joey started puking on the car ride to the airport.....at one point in teh ride i had both kids puking at teh same time.....they puked on the plane and both airports, Orlando and Indy, and on the car ride home. Jackie has been good since 4pm but Joey puked right before bed time. My brother's 3 kids are sick too and as well as my sister's daughter who was in the kids club. they were all 6 in the same room so something is in that room that's missing the hand washing and sanitizing. oh well....atleast it was the end and not the begining.
the week long trip was exhausting but fun....we booked a bounceback for WL for this week next year....great price! but we had so much fun on the cruise we want to look at that too. BUT it definately won't be with DCL....i was so not impressed with the services, staff, food, and just general attitude of the ship. I've sailed with RCCL and CCL over 10 times and was expected to be blown away by the service on DCL and was extremely disappointed with it.....they couldn't even come close to the service on RCCL and i can't figure out why the hell we paid so much for such service. totally not sold on DCL at all. And even before all the kids got sick i was SO DISAPPOINTED in the kids clubs!! :scared1: I could not believe how little interaction they actually had with the kids!! My kids were screaming at us during life boat drill to go down to the club....we finally drop them off and get a page 15 minutes later to go get them!!:eek::eek::eek: Are you kidding me!?!!?!? My kids both have been in day care/school their entire life....they have no problems at all with that kind of environment. neither of them wanted to go back again. I don't know what those counselors did....but they certainly didn't win over my kids. We were able to convince them to go back the next night while we were in Palo after the VR Ceremony, but we still got paged 2x by them....even AFTER WE TOLD THEM WE WERE IN PALO!!! :headache::headache: just so disappointed in the whole experinece.
As for the VR....well we did get rained out and had to be moved into the lounge....i was bummed but what can you do? :confused3 the lounge was actually really nice and very pretty so it fit well....my aisle runner looked good and the petal cones were a big hit with the kids and we had smashed rose petals all over the lounge by the time wewere done. feel sorry for the person who had to clean that up. we do have a few things we need to work out right now as things aren't quite what they said....but overall i'm happy with what happened. my flowers were PERFECT!! :rotfl: AND i did get the cake i wanted!! :woohoo: my kids were behaved and the captain had no issues at all with saying my ceremony, my guests were pleased and all was good.
Now.....i left my camera sitting on the table yesterday morning at breakfast....i was worried about my puking kid and forgot to pick it up. DCL lost and found said it was not turned in yesterday so now we wait and see if it gets turned in thursday. everyone must hope for the best right now!!!

Jennifer,
First off what a rough return  for you and the kids. Sorry that got so sick. Also glad the vow renewal went great even if it was moved inside. That stinks the kids didn't like the kids club. We were going to book the Dream for 2011 but now I'm wondering if I should go with RCCL instead. Hopefully your camera turns up. :yay: on booking the bounceback. I just know you will love WL during the holidays. Looking forward to reading your TR and seeing your pictures.

Aww Jen..I am sorry about the kids club. I am dreading our next cruise because Kate will be 13 and will not be so willing to go to the clubs! I am not happy about her running around the ship.
I am really happy about the Captain saying your ceremony..which Captain was it?

First, congratulations! I'm so happy that you were able to say your own vows. Looking forward to your TR.
Second, we are right there with you about DCL and the kid's club. We had to really convince our kids to go after the VR. They just were not that into it.
I hope you get your camera back. Disney does some amazing things sometimes.

Glad you are back! It sounds like you were on a totally different cruise than us! We had amazing service the entire time!
The kids loved the kids club too. We had some excellent counselors that played all sorts of activities with them. We all got really sick though too!
Kids were puking by Sun, Dan on Monday, and me late Tues night - right before our photoshoot the next morning.
We also got paged in Palo's! Ugggh!

:headache: well....i have a feeling i'm going to have a TR with no pictures.....so i guess i might as well start with what i can.
Vendor Reviews:
I didn't have a lot of vendors but i'll post what i did use just to make my report more interesting. :rotfl:
Shavon's Wedding Silks - A+ http://www.shavonsweddingsilks.com/index.html
I found Shavon on a web search for tropical bouquets......her Plumeria bouquet caught my attention as very pretty and tropical, yet simple. i loved it!! And as Natural Touch flowers....they were a very good quality and I was very pleased with the price. I got the bouquet, hair flower (that was rather cheesy, i didn't use it) and a boutineer for Joe for $80. The bouquet was just like pictured and was just beautiful....it was perfect for my Epcot Bridal Shoot....very light! :cloud9: The only downside was that the ribbon kept slidding up the stems as the Shoot wore on. It wasn't a big deal as it's not like it was going to get me dirty or anything like that....just something to mention.

DPS - Mike Strickland - A+ just on his behavaior....haven't seen the pics yet.
Mike was WONDERFUL!!! I had seen some shots other brides posted that he did and I was totally OK with his style of work. I am not into the weird angles and "new" style of photography that everyone is so into now. When i get pictures taken...I want to be sure that I am the focus of the pictures! not faded into the background somewhere! Mike was so nice and easy to work with...and he totally set Joe at ease. Joe HATES to get his pictures taken and really hates to be the center of attention too! I only convinced him to do the shoot by telling him there wouldn't be anyone else in the park at the time! I told Mike what we were looking for and he knew exactly what we were talking about. The few pictures that he showed me were amazing!! I can't wait to see the proofs when the come in!!
Beaute Special -
I'm giving them 2 grades......1 for the stylist who came to my room to do my hair and makeup, and 1 for the business itself.
C- for the business itself....soley on the attitude/behaviour of the "receptionist" who handled my calls and emails. 1st she never responded to my initial email inquiry about availability for my date....i had to call her back about it. Then about a week before we were set to leave I called her again about making the final payment as I didn't want to have to worry about cash the morning of. She never called me back. So I called on Friday the 4th before we left....again....she didn't call back. I finally got a hold of her Monday morning, less than 24 hours before my appointment time. I called before we went into DHS for the day...it was like 815am. I thought that was a normal time for a business....i guess it wasn't as i swear she was still asleep when she answered the phone!! I told her i wanted to pay for my services, and she's all like "umm....i'm not anywhere i can write it down now, can you call me back?" WHA?T?!?!?! I'm trying to pay you money and you want me to call back!??!?! I told her we were heading into the parks soon and I didn't know when i could try her again. She said to just try later. :headache: Luckily i got a chance before watching the Beauty and Beast show.
A+ for my Stylist Lane!! She was so nice and really got my hair and makeup to be exactly like i wanted it to be!! She showed up a few minutes early, we went over my hair inspiration pics and what my trial looked like and what i did and didn't like about it.....then i showed her the makeup i wanted. Basically i wanted my hair soft and curly, down but off my face, and not have the sides just fully swept up like a normal day hair. i wanted it to look special. She did a great job! I loved it! For my makeup, i wanted LIGHT and NATURAL! I don't normally wear a lot of make up (any makeup for that matter) and I wanted to look back at my pictures in a few years and say "wow I look beautiful" and not have it be because of the make up. I specifically didn't want that hollywood look with all the eyeliner under my eyes. She did it PERFECTLY. (these pics were taken from my phone, but you get the idea)

Vista Spa on DCL - B-
I wasn't very impressed with my hair on the ship. She basically did exactly what my hair trial did, which was grab the sides and pull it all up.....like a normal everyday do. Plus....my curls didn't go all the way down to the end of my hair!!! 1st, she used a flat iron to curl it. I was so confused until i saw that it really was curling it! I've never seen someone CURL hair using a flat iron. anyway, so yes it did curl, but the ends of my hair had that typical boxy look to it after using a flat iron. and it never went away! So i had this head of big fluffy curls...the ended with boxy tips. And it didn't stay very well either....even with having the ceremony inside, my hair was rather flat by the time we got to Palo. You can see in this pic, my hair looks pretty flat.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/064.jpg
And i paid MORE for the Vista Spa hair that i didn't like, than i did to have Beaute Special come to ME and do it! But they did also sneak Jackie in to get her hair done too which i was happy about...i didn't want to have to do it myself. But I didn't like her's either! Her hair was to be just like mine. But she still has little girl bangs that we are desperatly trying to grow out. He didn't do anything with her bangs other than to slick them over to the side of her head!! :scared1: Seriously, like imagine 80's greaseball serial killer look! Not happy!!
The Perfect Gift - floral delivery to the ship
It wasn't Shirley that i dealt with, I think it was Sherry, but she was very nice and easy to work with. I told her what i wanted and gave her a budget to work with and she did great! I got 2 vases of flowers for Palo, with Pink Roses and White Calla Lily's. I also got a Rose Wand for Jackie. Both were delivered to the ship and stored in the cooler with my bouquet until Imran delivered them to us. I know Tory got great shots of Jackie and her wand....hopefully she got some shots of the bouquet in Palo too. I know i did...but whether or not we'll ever see those pics is unknown.
Disney Floral -
I have to say that i was 100% totally inlove with my bouquet!! IT was EXACTLY how I pictured it to look! It was full and had 3 different colors of roses....and the mickey crystals!! YAY! I did get the extra ribbon to fully wrap the stems, but in the end I didn't think it needed it. there was such a small amount of water in the vase, it wasn't like the stems were dripping wet. I just wipped them off and we were all set! I brought the bouquet back home and now it is sitting....waiting to dry out. I want to keep it forever!!
(another phone picture)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/jbutler42900/Disney%20Trip%202009/Vow%20Renewal/flowers.jpg
DFTW Cruise Line Divison.
wow....where to start........I have to be fair and say that in the end the Vow Renewal really was nice and everythind did run smoothly. But the entire planning process was a nightmare! Communication SUCKS in regards to the Cruise division and all the changes that they made in the middle of the process were totally uncalled for! 1st, they said we couldn't use an outside vendor for any floral as DCL didn't have any place to store them. Well we know that wasn't true as they stored 2 flower vases and a rose wand for me with no problems at all! then we had the issue with what i wanted said in my ceremony. I'm sure the standard ceremony that they have said for every single other bride that has sailed with DCL in the past 10 years is very lovely...but you know what....it doesn't have squat to do with my and my husband and our family! And that it 100% what this VR was about....US! And i wanted the ceremoyn to reflect that. According to the wedding manager, the captain speaks not-so-good-English and couldn't vary away from the ceremony they normally use. I told her i didn't care if she had to find an english speaking garbage collecter to read it, but my ceremony would be what was read. They could keep their officer and we're read it to ourselves if we had to! Finally about 1 month before saililng i got notice that "a senior officer" would read the ceremony as I had written it! Of course by that time i coudln't have backed out if she said no. In the end, it WAS the captain who read my ceremony and he did a wonderful job IN PERFECT ENGLISH without missing a step! (Joe on the other hand had to have his vows repeated to him 3x because he couldn't remember what he was supposed to say! :rotfl2: ) Not know if the ceremony was going to be about us was the most stressful part of the planning. Then we had the whole Cake issue. I will admit that i may have had a bit higher expectations that a normal bride simply because i do cakes myself....but i also TEACH people how to do cakes and know that what i was asking for was not hard at all! Then to have an option ripped away from us 1/2 way into planning (the fresh floral topper) just totally ruined it even more. And the cake options were horrible! Plain white on white! UGH!
All in all, i'm going to give DFTW DCL Division a big fat F!!! If I knew 18 months ago the stress and anger that planning with them would involve....i would never have booked. Yes it came out fine....not perfect, but fine.....but I dont' feel it was worth what i had to go thru. I'd take the $1500 for the VR and the cost of the cruise and done an Escape for the same price....or Swan and Dolphin for cheaper!! I totally do NOT recommend the DCL weddings to anyone.
Wedding Planner/Coordinator - Brie - D
I know that 90% of the problems that i had with DFTW were not Brie's fault...she doesn't make the rules. BUT her communication with me was horrible!! IT would take weeks to get a response from her! I can understand that she normally has to check with the ship before she can answer me...but a simple "I'm checking with the ship...give me a few days to get back with you" would have made me much happier tham wondering if she ever even got the email in the 1st place!!
Imran - Onboard Wedding Coordinator - C
I loved Imran....he seriously worked his butt off for us! We got so many cute little notes from him....and lots of bottles of the cheap nasty champagne :rotfl2: and he really did work to make the Cadillac lounge work for my "tropical" look. And really....I was totally fine with the lounge!! I am actually really proud of how well i held it together when he called and said we had to move! And he got the Chef to make my cake for me!!! He was able to change the plain dots into Mickey Dots! And he got them to write Happily Ever After on my cake and they did an awesome job with my cake toppers. And he worked SOOO HARD to make sure that there were no strawberries anywhere near me. He told me in our initial meeting that he told EVERYONE on the ship that i was not to have any strawberries at all! And our waiter at the dinnig room knew it, our Palo waiter knew it, they even mentioned in the spa that it was coconut spray not strawberry. :rotfl: And he assured me that we would have chocolate covered bananas and pineapple, as disucssed with Brie, instead of the strawberries. So you can imagine my suprise when we come back from Palo to a tray FULL of strawberries. It was no big deal to me, Joe and the kids devoured them in like 2 minutes! And the next day we did have our pineapple and bananas...OMG now THAT's some good stuff!! I don't know why i mentioned it to him when called, but i did. And he was angry. And understandably he should be....he gave pretty explicit instructions to everyone about the strawberries and someone didn't get that memo to housekeeping. So i can understand why he was upset....but he didn't have to send us a MUCH BETTER bottle of Champagne to our table that evening. So he really did go out of his way to make sure we were happy.
Which was why i was completely and totally blown away when i came home and discoverd he bold faced LIED to me!! At our 1st meeting, we were going over the ceremony and I told him about the sand ceremony. He told me in no uncertain terms that it was absolutely NOT allowed...could not be done. Customs and environalmental agents and it was just too dangerous to attempt...whatever...no big deal. it wasn't That imprortant to me. So i come home and look at Tanya's pics,.....she did her VR just 1 week before us....and damn if she doesn't have pics of her sand ceremony right there on deck 7. And the stupid thing is that he knew i knew Tanya as we were talking about her and i wanted to know all about how her ceremoyn went! So he had to have known i'd see her pictures! I don't know what happened in the 7 days from when she got on until i got on....but he wouldn't allow the Sand Ceremony. So that gives him a C.
ummmmmmmmmmm..............I think that's it for now........ hopefully i can get some pictures....sometime.
One more thing.....chairs for the ceremony. They only provide 12 chairs for deck 7......2 rows of 3 chairs on each side. Imran assured me it would be no big deal to have my guests stand. ***!?!?!? WHY would you have a maximum guest count of 18 but only provide chairs for 12??? I can assure you that if we actually HAD had the ceremony ondeck 12, my family would have drug chairs down from Deck 8 to sit on!! If i get a comment card (HA! That'll never happen) you can be sure i'll be mentioning that stupid little fact!! I had to pay $100 more for those guests and you're going to make them stand?!?!?!?!? I DON"T THINK SO!!!! :headache::headache::headache:

I'm so sorry to hear about the headaches you had on the cruise line. My parents are considering a VR in a few years for their 35th anniversary and I will have to tell them not to do the cruise line.
I hope your camera shows up soon I know I would be a wreck. Although, I'm sure some of your guests have great pictures too. Despite the problems, it sounds like your day was still beautiful and I look forward to reading more. Btw~ your flowers are gorgeous!

I don't know what to say about DCL....i don't think my expectations were too high, and if you hang out on the DCL Forum you'll read that they all think DCL is soo much better than RCCL. I just wasn't WOWED like i expected to be for that price.....and if they don't lower their prices soon, we won't be giving them a 2nd chance! I can get a Outside on RCCL (or Balconly on CCL) for a 7 night during Spring Break for what we paid an inside 3 day on Disney!! :confused3 And i KNOW that i'll be satisified with RCCL.

They are supposed to let you do it whenever once you are a DFTW bride! I hope you can get one done!
Jen, now I have to go and look at RCCL! I thought Disney was great, but I am basing it off of cruising with Costa. (Don't ever do that!)
I have to say that I have been too busy to do a full report and vendor reviews as of yet, but I echo most of your statements.
I loved Imran and the fact that he worked his butt off for us. But like the cake issue - we were told NO changes and my cake was melting and not even iced right. Like I could see bare cake with no icing on it. I didn't care by that point, but then you get hidden mickeys and such!!!???
I don't know what to say about the sand ceremony. They dragged a table in from another deck and everything for me. My sand was out of my driveway too!!!! If anyone would have caused problems, it would have been me. :rotfl:
I don't know. I just do not get it.
Also, there were times when Imran seemed as if he were reading from a script when talking to me, and it kind of irked me. I wish he just told me like it is, ya know?
AND...I was told NO changes to the ceremony. Even up to like 15 mins before the ceremony!! DH and I wrote our vows to each other to read off of a paper. No captain or anyone else reading that part. SO my DH said something to the captain while waiting on me to come out, and he said it was fine. So at the last min. when Imran came to get me, he told me finally that we could read our vows to each other.
I have to say that even with all of our bumps, I loved the "moment" if you know what I mean. It was still very special. But I agree that DFTW needs to get their act together in regards to this portion of their services.

that pretty much sums it up....the "moment" of the VR was great....but everything else sucked!!
Tanya - Yes, i did feel like he was just reciting things for memory at times.....did he give you his "you're a VIP, enter the dining room 15 minutes late so everyone looks at you" speach? :rotfl: Yeah, like i'm going to convince my family to not go eat at the proper time!
CinderelliT
12-18-2009, 05:57 PM
Oh yah!!! I forgot all about that speech. We got that too. Try to tell my 3 year old that she has to wait to eat and see what happens. We ignored that part of the speech, so we forgot all about it.
We did get a lot of attention on the boat - but it was because I insisted on us wearing the bride and groom ears everywhere and not b/c we were VIP's!

well we've been home for a week now, and I've heard from Disney 3 times....the Camera was never turned in. I'm so bummed....and rather pissed off since i KNOW that it was left sitting ON TOP of the table in Triton's sunday morning. this action just further solidified the crappy service we got from DCL.
Anyway, i have a disc of pictures that my sister took from the cruise to look thru, and hopefully my BFF should be getting me her pics from WDW soon, and i'll have the photopass pics too. So it won't be as detailed as i wanted it to be, but alteast i'll have the moments captured and that is all that counts. But dang I lost all my food porn pics! :rotfl:

This doesn't make it any easier, but on the Explorer of the Seas, we had our cell phone stolen. It was packed in my luggage, a "lost" piece of luggage that took over a week to make its way back to us. The phone was missing, so we called our server, and low and behold, calls were made all week long in Miami. When I called Royal back (had called them multiple times previous because of the lost luggage) they said there was nothing they could do...our responsibility. So it is not just Disney....although I don't think anything could make you happy about DCL right about now.

Your pictures look nice. And for what it's worth, I think your hair looked nice. Your cake looks good, did you save any of it?
And you are tall!!!!

:rotfl: yeah, i'm a bit of a giant standing next to Dh. he's a bit shorter than normal, and i'm just a tiny bit taller than normal, so it looks a bit weird.
The cake was soooo good!! We cut the bottom layer at the VR, which was chocolate with white chocolate mousse! OMG it was heaven! There were chunks of soft white chocolate in the mousse and it just melted in your mouth....wonderful!! I know we didn't eat it all, but all they brought to dinner the next night was the top....so i had cake, with the souffle, and something else....i can't remember but i know i had 3 desserts that night! :rotfl:
I'm bummed we didn't get more of the cake.
as for my hair...it looked nice, but was nothing like what i wanted.

Sorry to hear about some things going wrong for your VR but all in all it looks wonderful. Your dress is just beautiful, your DH looks so handsom and your children are just adorable.
Your cake looks so pretty. I have to ask if you ever used the Lady and the Tramp statue that you got from Lenox. It is just beautiful but so large. I have it also and it love it but it is so big.
Sorry about your camera also but hopefully you will end up getting some good shots from others. Can't wait to read more.

i so wanted to use it, it is so beautiful! But you're right, it's so big, it would have taken over the whole cake. plus...i already had so much fragile stuff to take to the ship, i didn't want to chance it getting broken. good thing too, as my toasting flutes didn't survive the trip home. :sad2:
Hey Jen! I am so sorry to hear that you didn't have a great time on the cruise ut you looked stunning and it looks like you had a great time. DH and I have been on 3 RCL cruises and we just back from one recently and on everyone we had a fantatsic experience, so I would highly reccomend them.
You looked beautiful and I am glad everythign was able to come together. I am sorry it was so stressful though :(

Your cake was so beautiful and sounded delicious too! I'm so glad you were able to get the cake the way you wanted it. I love some of the shots with you and your family all together; everyone looks like they had a great time. The one of your son giving the evil eye is so cute ;)
Have a great Christmas! Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Hi Jennifer - I wanted to stop by and say hi! I'm the crazy girl that introduced myself to you on the flight to Orlando. :rotfl:
I haven't gotten to read all of your updates yet - it looks like you had a few little snags but I hope overall your dreams came true. I'm going to catch up now!

Sorry you did not use the Lady and the Tramp Lenox piece but I am sure you are happy it is save at home.
My toasting flutes did not make it to my wedding. One of the waiters dropped one before our reception at ADH. They were just plain flutes that said Bride and Groom - on a happy note - they gave us the Disney Mickey and Minnie wedding ones.
Hope you are feeling better and looking forward to reading more and seeing more pictures.

We had Mike Strickland and I am sooooo happy with his work!! OMG our pictures are AMAZING!! There are a few wonky shadows in the early Italy ones, but it was so dark and foggy when we got there i'm suprised any of them turned out at all!! Otherwise we are sooo pleased with our pictures!!
