Hi,

We are DVC members that go to WDW often.

We have always found it cheaper to put together our own "resort/ticket" package for WDW.

Is it the same for DL?

We will be going to DL next February and plan on staying at the CG.

Thanks,

teri

Are you using points? Then you will need to buy tickets. If you are paying for cash ressies, be on the lookout for discounted rooms prices in February. You should keep an eye out for specials, and depending on how long you plan to stay, the Annual Pass may be a good idea. Sometimes the pacakages are a good deal, but I wouldn't recommend lockign into a prepaid fixed price deal before checking out the options.

Thanks for your response!

I was not planning to use points, but could/would if the price is not right. I figure each point is $10, so that is my break point.

When would the deals for February be released. I want to make sure we have a place to stay!

Thanks again,

I agree that at WDW, it is usually cheaper to put everything together on your own.

However, I found at DL we usually at least break even, or come out a little ahead with packages. I've used packages several times, at good neighbor hotels, and most recently at GC in October. I was also fortunate that they had a special deal where there was an extra hotel night free (purchase 3 nights), as well as an extra free day on our park passes. I also saved about $100 off the package with the Disney Club.

At DL, I usually will go for the package since it costs the same or less as if I put it together myself, plus there are some added features like breakfast.

I did a pretty extensive trip report on the hotel and the costs. If you're interested, you could look at the trip reports board for it.

Happy planning! GC is beautiful!
