TAMPA -- A Virgin Atlantic Airways flight attendant has been arrested for allegedly writing anti-American threats during a London-to-Orlando flight in January, forcing the plane to be diverted to Iceland.

Michael Phillipe, a 25-year-old French national, is charged with interference with flight crew members and attendants on an international flight. He was scheduled for a hearing in federal court in Newark, N.J. on Thursday afternoon, a day after FBI agents arrested him there.

That's so strange...I just went for a job interview with Virgin-Atlantic this past weekend in Connecticut for a reservationist and was asking about flight attendants....I was told you had to be a British citizen in order to be a flight attendant. Any other job you could come from anywhere but flight attendants had to be British.

.............I remember how this incident caused everyone's fears to resurface. Not only that, I felt so sorry for the passengers on that plane - all cross-examined at length, the fear they must have felt on that plane and everyone treated like a suspect :(

Wow, I don't know what I'd do to someone who wasted precious hours of my holiday!
I hope they throw the book at him.
