HI all! It's been a while since I last posted, but I've been lurking. My husband keeps asking me if we can call now and find out where we'll be when we check in on May 21st. If I remember reading correctly on here, we take our chances until we check in right?? I want to call to pacify him :lmao: but....
Thanks!

Calling will do no good. They will not release your loop or site number until you have checked in and the site is ready to occupy.

I remember a long time ago, when we used to be able to call about a week out and ask for the Campsite Coordinator. She would tell us which site we were assigned to.
But, Tim is right, we can't do this anymore. Now, you have to wait until check-in to find out.

Thanks to you both! Maybe now if he sees this in print he'll stop bugging me to call!! I don't know what it matters anyway. We'll deal with whatever we're dealt. :)

We'll deal as well....I dont get the fascination with knowing where your site is before arrival anyway. Chances are you wont remember exactly what the site they asign you looks like or measures to anyhow....so try to be pleasantly surprised by it when ya arrive...if it simply CAN NOT work....they have to move you to something that you'll fit into, if theres anything else available, if not....the adventure begins, and ya make what ya got work for ya!!!

Remeber that a "bad" site at Fort wilderness is better than a "good" site anywhere else. :thumbsup2

I don't know how far in advance they will release it, but I was able to verify my loop but not my site at 9:00 a.m. on the day we arrived. I called early because we were contemplating on taking a detour to check our land in Fruitland Park so then we would arrive late in the afternoon to early evening...this was last October. Also, it was a partial-hookup loop so really there were only 2 choices. I'm sure they're going to be more strict with the full-hookup.

I requested a certain loop when I booked, and I also faxed a request...but as everyone else said...theres no guarantees on what you get....
I understand you are deal with what your dealt...but there are certain loops that I love and certain loops I would rather not have...so a request is never gonna hurt :thumbsup2

Huh??? Apparently you've never been assigned to the 1900 loop!

I havent been in the 1900 yet, we were in 1400 during Christmas 06 and I wasnt crazy about that site, way too close to the neighbors and steady traffic through my site on the way to comfort station (considered by many to be rude behavior) I wouldnt take a 1400 site again because of it.

Do tell....... please share the loops you either love or don't . It sounds like info you don't want to give up, but do give some details. Also are they pet loops? Lots of people like different loops for different reasons, so just because you want it doesn't mean everyone else would love it. A little insite would be nice!

The only loop I will NOT stay on is 1900 - and I make sure they know that when I make a ressie. The concrete pads are very narrow with immediate drop off's - and I mean IMMEDIATE, HUGE drop off's. During the rainy season the swails between the sites fill with water, slime, tree frogs and mosquitos. The only decent site in 1900 is site 1901, and that's questionable. My favorite loops (in order) are 1100, 1600, 1700, 1200 & 1300. I will however, be happy anyplace but 1900.
Oh, and by the way, did I say I do NOT like the 1900 loop??:rotfl:
