Petersburg, VA Hotel??

Has anyone stayed in Petersburg VA on their way to WDW? Looking for a clean, relatively inexpensive hotel with a pool (indoor or outdoor is fine).

(Or would it be better to stay slightly north or south of there?)

Chester is just a few miles north of there and I would recommend that instead. I grew up in Chester, and Petersburg has always had a bad rap. I know they have been working to change that, but it's been awhile since I've been through Petersburg.

I think(dont hold me accountable) that there is a very nice hotel(Best Western maybe?) nears Kings Dominion(its a Six flags type place) that is great. It has a Denny's built into the hotel, good prices and very nice rooms. It's also right of I-95. My advice is search for Kings Dominion and find the nearby hotel with Dennys. I'd highly recommend it.

I second what KirstenB said. There are several hotels right off exit 61 in Chester. Fairfield Inn, Microtel Inn, Sleep Inn --- might be a Hampton Inn, but not 100% sure.

If you were to take I-295 around Richmond, I believe there are some hotels around the Hopewell / Fort Lee area, but again I'm not certain what's there.
