OK. So what is an upgraded picnic table in the premium sites? Does food appear magically? What are our thoughts on this?

My guess is the tables will have been manufactured this millennium. Seems all the ones we have had lately are in dire need of some sanding and paint.

They are supposed to have updated grills too.

It is so much easier to cook on a grill that actually keeps the charcoal in the fire box and not let it fall though the holes.

Maybe they're made out of that hard plastic-type material --- I think it's recycled something. Instead of wood? :confused3

All great ideas! It might be a combination of all of the above. I would especially like the poop-free table. Those fake wood ones are nice too.

I kinda like the old grill. Our little portable propane BBQ fits just perfectly inside it and it's just the right height for DH to grill at. I hope the new upgraded picnic tables are lighter. I'm always the one trying to move that heavy thing while DH is backing the trailer in.:scared:

Or better yet, every other site will have a beer tap etc. and every other one will have a removable top for the pool table option.

Or, as we say in New England ~ "Beeah" taps and Kungaloosh "bubblahs"

oooh - and the campsites all have invisible fencing so the dogs can run around, but not leave the campsite. And, of course, the poop magically disappears too!! :cool1:

I know this is totally bizarre, but our neighbors have that invisible fencing stuff for their dogs (with the collars). I wonder if something like that is portable, like run a circle of the stuff around the perimeter of the campgsite??

Yes, it is. As long as you have the wire, you can port it. I took ours when we had our lab down to my mom's when we visited. I couldn't keep that dog out of the pond behind her house. Just make sure it is marked so no one will trip over it.

I agree ~ the invisible fencing is great, but please keep in mind that although it will keep your dog IN, it does not keep other dogs/animals OUT. As a former vet tech at an animal hospital, we treated a few dogs who were attacked in their own yards from other dogs coming in and the victims had no way to escape due to the fence. (even had a couple of unplanned litters that way, too ;) )

Just thought I'd send a friendly FYI because a lot of the people who had the fence installed never even thought about other dogs coming in.

They have a great system that works off a base in your home, or your campsite for that matter. Program the unit for the perimeter that you will allow your dog , be it 50 ft to 100 yards I think. A friend of ours has this and he loves it. They couldn't put the underground in and found this option. The unit may cost between 300-400. I always thought about it for camping. They camp too I'll have to ask them if thay have taken it with them yet. No it doesn't keep other out, just yours in.

Yeah, if forgot about that Dalmation years ago...fortunately for my vet bill, the Dalmation got the worse end of the fight. Yes, it happened in our front yard in AL and the fence line was on.

See what happens when you don't have a dog for a while? We had 13 wonderful years with our lab! RIP

We had the invisible fence guy over to our house to get an estimate. He took one look at the wonder beagle and said "we won't guarantee it will keep a beagle in - once they spot a squirrel or rabbit and start the chase, nothing will stop them." So we didn't get one.

A .45 will deter other animals from attacking your pet in your yard quite effectively.

The only upgrade they could possibly make to a picnic table that old FWGuy would appreciate would be outlets to plug in the Magic Bullet for Kungaloosh.

You know, I didn't have time to get the 9mm out of the lock box before the fight was over, however, it did cross my mind....

I'm old school, I guess. 9mm - able to fit more rounds in the clip. .45 - larger round, more stopping power.

back on topic...can we add a dolly for condiments to the table?

I don't think the Fort Folks would appreciate me bringing my 9mm for the pesky neighbors dogs lol but it is a thought...early morning walk in poop would sure get my temper up!
