We are booking our vacation for Nov. We want to get a family suite + a standard room at All Star Music Resort. Do you know if we can get these connecting?

I've read in your discussion board that there are connecting standard rooms.....

Thanks

I am new to the Dis boards but I believe that the family suites at the ASMu do not have any standard rooms in the same buildings. I think that there are only referred rooms. Not sure but I believe that is what Disney told my cousin. My DH and I are going with our cousins and their 3 girls and we wanted to be located near them and we had to get a preferred room. So let me know if you find out something different!

We stayed at ASMU in Feb. 2008. We had a preferred room on the first floor. Some of the rooms were the regular rooms and some were suites. It was all kind of mixed up. Not all suites are together. So i am hoping that there will be joining rooms between a suite & preferred room.

Anyone know for sure?

I do know that there is no way to guarentee adjoining rooms even if there is. It's a gamble. Silly thing is that we've staying in adjoining rooms at POP when we didn't need it...and the year that we did...we didn't get it!

Adjoining rooms are simply rooms that are next to or near each other. It's relatively easy to get those.

Connecting rooms are two rooms side by side with a pair of doors on the common wall which can be opened by both parties, allowing all occupants access to both rooms without going into the hallway/outside.

All the Family Suites were created from connecting rooms. There are NO rooms that connect to a Family Suite.

Let's say you could get a suite and a connecting room. I think that would be about $270 per night. Aren't 2BR units at OKW under $400? (Of course, you can always rent points and get an even better deal.)

I think I'd choose the OKW. Larger room, full kitchen, full size washer and dryer. Yes, it's one less bathroom. Still, DVC really does feel like home (and vacation at the same time). Can't put a price on that.
