Hello!

My family and I just planned a last minute trip for 6/1 - 6/8. I know this coincides with Gay Day and I'm sure we are likely to be in the MK on 6/7. We always leave our last day open for "kids choice" and it is ALWAYS the MK. ;) We've been before that same week and I know red is the color of the day for the GLBT community. Is there univerally known and accepted color or symbol or something that a straight Mom of 3 who is completely supportive of the rights of your community should wear to show that support?

Thanks!

Red. :teeth: Wearing red isn't limited to just gay and lesbian folk. It's the color of choice for CSP and all supporters!

Thanks for asking. {{{hugs}}}

You're wonderful for wanting to show your support. I wish I were going then too!

Anyone good at Computer graphics? We need a shirt iron on logo for all the CSP's that are attending gay days this year!

Oh gosh, what a GREAT idea! "Only REALLY Cool Straight People Wear Red!" Wish I were able to help, but graphics are far beyond my talents!

I've always been fond of this phrase on shirts, too. Several of my CSP friends have them.

I had this one made when we thought we were going to Gay Days a couple of years ago. If you are handy with design progrms you might be able to change or erase the year.

that is so cool!! One of the biggest things that draws me to Disney is their support of the community and I think it's so neat that you put a Mickey head in there! I might edit that and put it on a shirt to wear even though I'll be there after gay days.

My friend Kate did the design for me - I couldn't design my way out of a paper bag! :rotfl2:
I am disappointed we ended up not going for Gay Days. Airfare was just crazy, so we couldn't manage that trip plus another two later that year.

Please feel free to use the design! And post a pic if you decide to make a shirt! :)

Thanks, jackskellingtonsgirl! I love that logo! I may just have to make one of those. :) I'm not great with design programs but I have a friend who is and I bet she could modify it for me. :)

So if anyone there sees a Mom with 3 boys (7, 6 and 1), tall with either curly or frizzy (assuming that it will be humid but that I will once again attempt to convince myself that with the right product I can still pull it out straight and have it look OK) reddish brown hair wearing a shirt with that logo, please stop and say Hi! :)

I got a great shirt last year on Cafe Press. It has a rainbow logo and says "Straight But Not Narrow" but a different logo than the one linked earlier. Check out this page for variations:

I wore it to MK, and DH just wore his red Mr. Incredible shirt. I got lots of great comments on it (and a dirty look from some guy wearing a "Marriage is a Man and Woman. Period." shirt...I was hoping he'd make a comment so I could lay into him, but he just glared). I'll be there again...same place, same shirt...so please say hi if you see me!

DS and I have been in the Pride Parade a couple of times and I saw a lady who had a shirt that said "Straight But Not Narrow (Minded)". I didn't realize there were so many other versions of it!

We didn't go to the parade last year. Maybe this year. DS really only likes to go if we are on a float, though. I don't volunteer anymore so we might have a tough time hitching a ride on a float. :rotfl2:

Here are some more great shirts. I'd love to wear the "Hey 'Phobes!" one but I think MK would force me to turn it inside out.

I think for next year I might get matching shirts for DH & I with the "I'm Straight, I'm Married, I Support Gay Rights" logo. I wish it were more colorful!

Some of those shirts are SOOO cool! I am not brave enough to wear most of them, but I like them!

inkkognito, some of those are great!

I see a few I would love to wear but either Disney wouldn't appreciate it or it would not be the best shirt to wear with my kids. ;) I love the one with the democrat donkey picture and the caption that says "who ever heard of a hot piece of elephant?" :rotfl

You know, some of them have stickers, I'm almost tempted to get a few stickers and keep some in my bag to share. :)
