I stayed at FW from 19th to 26th Dec 2006 and got an AP discount of 30% for the whole stay and value rate for whole stay as we checked in on last day. I know they have stopped that for this year which is a shame as really makes a difference to the price. Stayed at SSR last Xmas with a 40% code. My DS wants to go back to FW this year so was wondering if there was still an AP discount last year over Xmas.
Thanks

I could be wrong, and I'm sure if someone knows differently they will say so but, I believe AP discounts are available for any day or any time of year. The trick is that there are only a limited number of discounted sites available and once they are gone,,,,they are gone. I don't think this means that site 1212 gets a discount but 1211 doesn't, just that only a certain number are allocated for discount. I've been told in the past when they are not available that I can try back to see if one opens up ( cancelation etc ) and get it for my ressie.

Don't the AP codes come out in the fall for Dec ressies? I may be wrong, but AP codes that are out only go to May 21st right now...

Rule #1,,,Don't listen to me because I rarely know what I'm talking about.
Rule #2,,,If there is ever a question, see rule #1:lmao:
I've only had limited nformation on this because we have never planned a vacation around the discounts or were we dissappoited when not available. We are just happy for the times we get it kinda like a bonus. I thought that there(?) are regular discount codes that come out, and also a limited number of passholder discounts in addition to that since they are listed as a perk. I do know that they are not always available but, I thought that was only if someone else beat you to them. ....Remember RULE #1

Usually the discounts stop around the 18th, and don't pick back up until after 1/1. Now, of course, it all depends on how full the rooms/campsites are. Disney may decide later in the year to extend the AP discounts to the holiday period, but that usually doesn't happen.

I have found the last couple of Decembers that for partial hookup sites anyway, the AAA rate was BETTER than the passholder rate. (This was early December).

This was true for our upcoming trip (just a few more days! :yay: ). We already had a partial hookup site with a AAA discount booked, and then called to switch to an AP rate when they came out, but the AAA rate was cheaper, so we just stayed with it.

Here's a link to the history of discounts offered. It will give you an idea of the trend for Christmas discounts and when they are initially offered.
