For those lucky folks who are going to WDW for the Christmas/New Year's Holiday, which view: Standard, Preferred or Boardwalk did you reserve? Everyone says the Standard goes first, but do you choose a more "upgraded" view for the Holidays?

I am flying in on Christmas night and will stay at Pop for that first weekend (Thurs- Sat). On Sunday 12/28 I am in BW preferred studio for 2 nights and then move to BW view on the 30th staying there until 1/3. I was unable to get BW view for my first few nights ( did day by day reservation, but was unable to call the first day), so I took preferred and waitlisted for BWV. Hopefully my Sunday and Monday will come through so that I do not have to change rooms!

I called every day first thing in the morning at 11 months to book my 1-bedroom Boardwalk View for Christmas. We'll be there 12/20-12-27. I can't wait. We missed our WDW Christmas Vacation last year and WE WILL BE GOING this year even if gas it still outrageously expensive. I'm having withdrawls already and don't know if I can survive another year without seeing my Mouse.

All of our BWV stays have been in standard view rooms for the point savings. I have also shied away from BW view because of the noise some people mention. The noise apparently comes from JellyRolls being let out and the boardwalk games. However, I have booked a weekend stay in a Boardwalk View room for November, non holiday, after the F&W, because the pictures that I've seen of the views are truly tempting.
For our December 29th to January 2nd upcoming stay, I booked standard view. The time of the year and the point value were deciding factors for that booking.
Once we have November's stay behind us, I will make the decision about future stays. I do try always to book more than 10 months out because I want the choice of point costs at BWV.

Called day by day as this will be my son's first trip and we're treating the family- needed the standard view point savings to make it work !!
So we're doing 2 2BR standard and 1 Standard Studio. This will be our first time in a standard view, so I can make a comparison once we've been!
I'll be in a Boardwalk-view 1BR from 12/26-1/1. I got really spoiled the first time staying in a BW-view room, and now book that view for all of my NYE trips. :)

When I called in March the only 1-BDR at BWV that I could get was standard view for Dec. 21 to 26.
Twice we have stayed in standard views but then we added on and the last 15 times we have stayed in a BWV (which we  ) We have a 2-BDR BW view for a week next month!
I have though about calling and waitlisting a BW view for our Christmas trip but I want to book a BWV GV next June for our 25th wedding anniversary so I need to bank some of this use year's points.

We decided to splurge since this just may be our daughter's last WDW Christmas vacation with us. She's a senior in high school next year and may not want to hang out with the parents anymore after she graduates.
