irons in staterooms?

Alright, packing tonight and the little lady wants to know if there are irons in the staterooms. I know someone out there can help.

The irons are located in the laundry rooms. They are not allowed in staterooms due to fire hazard and safety of guests. Mike

We just got back Saturday....we brought a small travel iron with us and our stateroom host never said anything. We even had it sitting right on top of the desk when not in use

NO IRONS IN THE ROOM WE TOOK OURS FROM HOME NO ONE SEAD ANYTHING ALSO TAKE A POWER STRIP WITH YOU ONLY ONE OR TWO PLUGS IN THE ROOM TO USE..

Irons are prohibited from being used in your staterooms. This is a strict regulation on board ship due to the possible fire hazard. Fire on board ship is a very serious matter, as can be evidenced by the recent incident on the Magic.

Your stateroom attendant most likely assumed that you had used your iron in the laundry room, as is permitted, and then simply brought it back to the room with you. Please be considerate and following the safety regulations on board ship! :) :)

CarolAnnK ... point well taken. I do have one question, since I am an ironing freak and have nightmares about my children looking like wrinkled messes -- I heard that the irons in the laundry room are not that good -- can I assume from your post that I CAN bring my own iron and use it IN the laundry room? That would make my life much happier!!!!

Yes you may certainly bring your own travel iron and use it in the laundry rooms. I did not use the existing ones in there, but was told they were rather "sticky" with residue. The same for garment steamers. If you have a travel one feel free to bring it on down to the laundry room to use... :) Formal nights are quite crowded in there b4 early dinner seating though, LOL! :)
