We are leaving in 17 days and staying at OKW. Traveling with 2 small children ages 5 and 2 (with a stroller). I've already requested a 1st floor room because of the stroller.
What is the best location and building for us (considering buses, food, pools, etc.)? :confused3

Well, I hope you made your requests at the time of booking, because it seems that is how the room controller seems to determin how requests are filled. Frankly, I think most buildings at OKW are great, and it is easier to tell you which ones I DON'T like than it is to tell you which ones are best. Besides, one person's "best" might be another's worst. I guess I would probably request near a bus stop, but other than that, I doubt it makes much difference.
Are you in a 1 or 2 bedroom or a studio? If you are in a studio, the location means very little because most OKW studios on the first floor are going to be hemmed in with vegetation and have very little view.

1br.... Views are not my concern. It's pools, food, and bus stops.
Thanks!

We stayed in building 12 with our 2 and 4 year olds. It was right across the parking lot from the HH (main pool, restaurant, bus stop) so it was perfect. We had requested an "upper floor" because we specifically didn't want the ground floor. I wasn't looking forward to a third floor hike at the end of the night and so I was pleasantly suprised to find that building 12 is only 2 floors. We got a top floor (nobody to stomp around above us) and only 2 flights of stairs to climb instead of 4.
If you're staying in the HH area, particularly buildings 11-14, this may be helpful information...
If you are leaving for the parks, get on at the HH stop....the bus will depart directly to your destination.
If you are returning from the parks, get off at the first stop (Peninsular Rd) and walk across the bridge to the HH area. If you stay on the bus until the HH stop, it will be an additional 10-15 minutes or more since the HH is the LAST stop. We found it much quicker to get off at Peninsular Rd and walk back. We had our mugs with us so we'd generally fill up at Goods To Go on our way back to the room. We'd beat the bus to HH every time.

For the rooms that are HH are special requests made at the time of booking. I would check with MS to see it any are available now. Do not wait until you get down there.

Are you already booked in the HH catagory? If not, you can't really request building 12, since it is in that specific booking catagory. You might try for buildings 15 or 16 though. We find those to be very convenient and not in the HH booking catagory. You also get a choice of going to either the Miller's Road bus stop or the HH bus stop. It is also very easily walkable to HH.

Sorry to hijack the thread - but I have a question. I don't see a seperate listing of an HH category room on the web site listing on resort points. I'm in the process of booking a day by day reservation for the first week in Dec - do you know what the points are for a one and two bedroom in HH category. I may want to ask about it tomorrow morning when I call.
thanks

The HH booking catagory is the same points as all reservations at OKW. It's just a seperate booking catagory.

I would check with the front desk at OKW before you get there...ASAP...to see about getting the general location you want.
