I keep flitting back here for help trying to figure out car sizes for our upcoming hols in Italy...anyone help? I have googled, google imaged, you name it!!! Just cannot seem to get a grip on the actual sizes!

Opel Astra with ac Manual

Ford Focus Wagon with ac Manual

Alfa Romeo 159 Wagon with ac Manual

FIAT Ulyesse (holds 7 it says??)

Any of these large enough for 4 (possibly 5) adults (husband 6'4") and 4-5 hefty pieces of baggage??

Appreciate anyones help!:thumbsup2

Out of those mentioned the Fiat Ulyesse will be fine for your requirements. The rest are average size & will not take 5 people & luggage comfortably.

Also a Renault Espace will suit your needs to, if you can find one to hire.

Agree the Astra, Focus and 159 will be too small for 4 or 5 adults plus 4 to 5 large bags. Best bet is the Ulyesse.

Or why not try the Renault Scenic or VW Sharan?

Who are you booking the car hire with?

Auto-Europe...

Really hard to know the Vehicles when I am used to what's here in North America!

I appreciate the help...the others are concerned that if we go too big..we might have issues in Italy with the little towns and villages we want to see, but room and comfort is imperative for those same trips too!:thumbsup2

I see the hire company has the Opel Zafira. DMIL has a Opel Zafira and we can get our 4 large bags/suitcases in it plus there would be room for another 2 people, the back seats have plenty of room.

I do think we tossed that one around abit too...If we end up being 5 (My DD is sitting on the fence deciding if she is coming along) Are there 5 seats and space for 5 large bags then? Problem is--hubby being a big guy...he needs his seat so far back! Ugh..

Yes the Zafira would be fine, just need to pack the bags well!
