Dolphin Service Fee

Does anyone know if the $8.00 per night fee at the Swan / Dolphin can be waived if I don't need the newspaper, coffee, or fitness center membership ?

My family and I were at the Dolphin last August. I simply told the person that checked us in that we were not planning on using the fitness room, etc. She did not have a problem with it. And I was never charged the fee. We did, however, get the newspaper everyday.
Have fun..it is a neat resort in a great area.

When I called for my June ressies, I just told them I wasn't interested in the Resort Fee and the guy made a note of it. He was very nice about it.:)
