Hi

We are contimplating taking a Disney cruise with our 4 kids and our parents. We have previously cruised RCI, Celebrity and Carnival. We are in our mid 30's with kids age 4-11 when we cruise next summer (have never cruised with the kids).

Disney has some nice features and their kids club looks fun. It lacks a casino which my in laws love. The voyager class ships for RCI have mini golf, ice skating, in line skating and a rock climbing wall as well as a kids program. Carnival doesn't have these but does offer balconies reasonably (which we loved on our last Carnival cruise) and has a decent kids club from what we've heard. Since this is a family vacation we want a cruise with a busy itinerary and probably won't use the kids club all that much.

Can you tell me why you choose Disney over the others? Thanks for any input.

The Disney ships are beautiful. They have the dark-blue (almost black) exterior and the twin smokestacks (although one of them's just for show). They look like the graceful oceanliners of days past. The Wonder and the Magic are the two best-looking ships at sea... they don't look like a floating white condo. And the interior design schemes also take on a 30's Art Deco scheme. They're classy. They have excellent programming. People enjoy the Disney shows. Some people prefer not having the casino. The service levels are quite good. Disney has a superior private island. And when you hear the "When You Wish Upon a Star" ship's horn, you know you're someplace extra-special.
