Our theme is "tea by the tea". We have got the following from Beaucoup.com. I give them a A+ because they are great, and always have a code you can use.
We got the tea caddies and are getting these along with the personalized (same design) tea bags.

The dress i want from Alfred Angelo. The sash will be expresso brown and the dress itself will be a lighter blue(like in the second picture)... I wanted them to be as beachy looking as possible but dressy enough for disney :thumbsup2

:ssst: I was all ready to start my planning session, but if I have learned anything, its that things change. I think I am still going to call to just meet up with someone from DFTW so that we are a bit ahead of the game (And hopefully save money by not having to head to FLA again :confused3 ) So we will see.

I have alot of our small things done... our favors are finished, the favor boxes are finished, our petal cones. All DIY and WORTH it. I love those things...:cutie:

Our engagement party theme was going to be "Life Is Sweet". We were going to have a cupcake theme (we are a cupcake family) and were going to give out personalized cupcake cookies (yum:woohoo: ) To each cookie we are attaching a recipe for our favorite cupcakes as well... I even wanted to buy the cupcake charm from Tiffanys! But... I was good I didnt...

I am excited too. At first the theme wasnt comming together in my head all that well and I was a bit nervous. But then, when I saw the attic, and how it had a "tea" feel as well as beach, I knew I could pull it off :)

So, with all the drama caused from family, and, us... Our trip is 61 Days Away!!! I can not wait. I feel like a little kid the day before who can't sleep! (I really can't... I guess I'm still a little kid!)

We will be staying in the Caribbean Beach Resort. We wanted a King Bed but opted for a water view lol. ;)

This will be the first trip that I am going on that it's not someone's FIRST visit to WDW (definition: Jenny doesnt have to run ragged trying to show them absolutely everything and anything WDW!) and so we are planning on not planning our trip.

Of course I am leaving the planning session day up to him. That is, if he even decides to do it... Which I do hope he does. Yesterday he was searching boutioneers for the wedding and talking to be about bouquets.... so I think he does have something up his sleeve :):lovestruc

Other than that, I am in search of nice summer dresses now. I can't walk around in shorts (being a dancer caused me to have early cellulite once the 99% of muscle diminished to none haha) and I just feel comfy in dresses. But, usually their surf dresses and cover ups... Oh well... as long as its okay with Disney...

For anyone who believes in Destiny... and for anyone who doesnt... this story is surely to give your karma a smack in the behind! For Valentines day, I actually composed a story book of "Our Story" because i love to hear it!

I had gone through MANY past relationships all ending in heartbreak as many people do. My grandfather had passed away, and shortly after, I began to ask him to show me my way, to help me to find someone, not just a boyfriend but a friend...like he had with my grandmother...

Everyone has heard of making a wish on the time 11:11 right? Well.... Low and behold, there is some truth to that...

I probably did that every single night for two months. I thought "Lets give it a try". And guess what, November 11, 2004 was the day that I would meet the man of my dreams... in his rather handsome purple shirt and tie if I may add myself...:rotfl:

So my mother and I decided to go to visit a old friend who worked in a department store. He was bored and so we usually met him to keep him company while folding womens clothes and stuffing boxers back into their packages...

I thought NOTHING of the meeting... We spoke as usual, I complained about an ex...and went home....:laundy:

A few hours later I get a phone call from Mike (my friend) asking if I wanted to go bowling... (Yes, bowling...this is what we call super fun :woohoo: ) and then mentioned...

Mike"This kid I work with, asked about you today"
Me: :confused3
Mike"Um, so ill pick you up later"
me: :confused3 um okay....

See, mike never would set me up with a SOUL for all the years that I knew him. He was always like a older brother so he was very protective...

Okay, so fast forward to later that night. Mikes sister, Nicole also worked at the department store and we had to pick her up.

Here we are sitting in the car waiting for his sister, and along comes a rather handsome young man.... ;)
He leans into the car, with this absolute to die for smile, and starts to talk to mike.

Well... I was sold. Once he left I tried to play it cool:cool2: but couldn't any longer. I had to know who this man was!!!!

Me: Mike, who was that? Hes adorable
Mike (Turning around with a huge grin and possibly thinking this in his head :woohoo: ) Jenny, Thats the guy WHO ASKED ABOUT YOU earlier! That's Vinnie!
Me: Oh My Goodness. Give him my number :cutie:
Mike: Okay

So, 1. I knew he had to be a good guy... because MIke wouldnt have set me up with him if he wasn't. and 2. Boy was I attracted. What are the odds of us both asking about eachother within a few hours of eachother? lol

So... we go on our first "date" to no other than Dunkin doughnuts. I had just come in from Washington DC and was exhausted, threw my hair up and said "If he deosnt like me for me, then hes not the one I should be with"...

And here comes Vinnie, with a sweatshirt on... later finding out...with the same mentality as me!

Well, 3 1/2 years later here we are. There have been some crazy signs that the two of us have no explanation for other than that my grandfather sent him to me.... and that:cutie: we should be together. :cheer2:

We started talking about marriage a few months back... and it jsut kind of became something of fact. Then after our trip to Disney world we were both set :wizard:

Vinnie is a very Old Fashioned man. Still holds the door open for me, carries bags... tries to pay for everything.... And yet, he has no problem with us working together on projects.... and even demolishing walls, and my most recent feat... TILES! That's right... little Jenny layed and leveled all of the tiles in the basement! Woo hoo! The two of us work togehter amazingly and I love that about us. I guess that would be my favorite thing...

Now... hopefully I'll be writing an engagment story soon! lol (besides the first story... my first "engagement ring" is the white band from a orange juice container. I have it still...never going to get rid of it!!) lol:rotfl:

So.....
Drum Roll!!!

It happened TODAY!! :banana:

I had NO idea. I called Vinnie today and told him that I had gotten him a gift (a seven layer cookie)

I get to his house and he is acting odd. I thought "Oh no, I've finally done it and pushed him to break up with me...(idiot me... I always think the worst)

Okay, so then to make matters worse, Vins mom leaves, and is acting odd as well, so Now I'm like "Oh gosh.... she hates me for some reason"

So, then, Vin comes out with a snapple (Blueberry, MY FAVORITE) I love it and was so thirsty I couldn't wait. I look at the cap quickly, it says something about marriage and then I put it down.

I look to my left and theres Vin on one knee, and says "Jen, youre the love of my life will you marry me?"

It all goes black from there. I remember a mix of crying, and confusion, and "No are you serious:confused: is this real?" and then realizing that IT WAS REAL!!!

So Of course I said yes. And when I look at the snapple cap fact it says:

Will You Marry Me?

I couldn't believe it. The ring is beautiful and I still am in shock!!! This was at 12 this morning and I still am shocked!!!

He did the snapple cap and wont tell me how. Vin has some crazy talents... but, Getting that on the snapple cap is amazing. I am going to take pictures tomorrow and then post them.

He told me he is going to make me a wood shadow box for our new living room and we will hang it up and have it forever!!!

So, tonight is the big night. We get to call DFTW and book! Except we are confused how this whole thing works. I dont know if we call and say we want to book a weddiing and we will be down there in july for a planning session....

No idea. Although this weekend has been amazing (engagement followed by IHOP yum) We found out that Vinnies mother may not join us in the Disney wedding. Which, I am upset about and HE is fine with!

So, I let things go. We'll have the small disney wishes and then come home and do the Catholic Marriage Blessing (I believe thats how it works? ANyone who knows please fill me in here since Im lost!)

It just stinks that she may not come. I would love for her to come, espesially since its my Future MOther in Law<3

But, I've decided there will be no drama for us. It's going to be just us... and whoever joins us joins us!!! :)

As far as disney, I called and told them I was thinking about it they took all the details and we went from there. you can't schedule a planning session until 4-6 months before the wedding although you can do a site visit were you can look at various locations and I believe that can be booked 12-14 months out. At least thats when I was told I could schedule mine. :confused3

That's the way to think! No drama is a fabulous idea! I've heard of brides having a Wishes wedding then an at-home ceremony but I'm not really sure how that works either. :confused3

I don't see why you can't do the planning session near Christmas. That would be like 7 months and that is when I am doing mine. I am going to Disney June 6-14th. Are you going in June or July this year?? If you were going in June I will have to look out for ya!

We called. They said that we can only do a sight view in July :( But thats okay. They said most likely we will have our date since it is a Tuesday (And i pray i have it because it means so much to me) but yay!

So, we also called the Church we wanted to get married in last night and the Priest was so mean!!! He made it sound as though I was pregnant!!! Grrrr

We really wanted to have the con-validation ceremony after the "civil" ceremony in disney for our family. And the fact that they made it seem as though we were terrible people, makes me (a catholic school teacher) and Vin (who works for the catholic diocese) not want to have a catholic marriage!!!

I mean, with how things are going, they should be happy that there is a genuine catholic couple who really is interested in still having the catholic ceremony!!!! I was just so upset by it. The priest changed his tone when I said that I may look for another church then if they have that much of a problem with it.... so it makes you wonder....:confused3

But.... Yay, I'll be starting conformation classes soon! Woohoo!

What church did you call? Goodness I've called 3 and they have been really nice, I have a few names for priest direct that have done these before ( I got them from another bride) if you want the info PM me and I'll send it over.

Unfortunatly, a lot of DisBrides have had trouble with the catholic church. You'd think with their bad PR image right now they'd ease up a bit. But, I guess that's not what being catholic is about! Most of the advice other bride's in your shoes have said is be persistent and keep looking until you find someone who makes you comfortable. Good luck to the rest of your plans! NO MORE DRAMA!!!

Looks like things with the Catholic church haven't changed much in 14 yrs. The priest at our local church stood us up for our initial meeting. :scared1: I don't know maybe they had enough wedding traffic. DH got really honked(he's the Catholic). My MIL, who couldn't stand for DH not to get married in the church called her priest. We ended up getting married there as he's pretty cool! We have a convent that is in a really pretty location that has weddings, but the archbishop put his foot down that their church is "not an official" one so no Catholic weddings! Fortunately the they do a good business with protestant weddings! You wonder where their collective brains are sometimes!:headache:
