Ok...so I know I've not been on here in forever but...my absolute favorite show of all time is in danger of being canceled after season 1 ends (5 episodes remaining) if the ratings don't go up. I strongly suggest to all of you if you don't watch this show, start watching it because it is hands down the best tv show on right now. One episode and you will be hooked, I promise!

For those that do watch, what did you think of the last episode ("Desperately Seeking Serena")? What bad things do you think Serena did in her past with Georgina? Who do you think is the gay character? (I already know who is)

Do you read the books? Which do you like better? (Books or show)

Don't forget to watch...Gossip Girl...8pm est on the CW.

"Desperately Seeking Serena" will repeat this Sunday at 3 pm for all who missed it.

To get caught up, visit http://www.gossipgirlinsider.com or cwtv.com now!

Have you read the books? I haven't read them all but most...just haven't read the newest ones. I need to start reading Would I Lie to You to catch up. Oh, and the only way the ratings will go up is if people write down they watch that show on the Nielson ratings. So unless you are doing a survey they send out, they can't tell if you are watching it or not just through your tv.

I also wasn't aware it was in danger of being canceled.

I've read the first book, and the last book.
They're okay.

The show is pretty good. I haven't seen the new episode yet, I don't know when it's going to be on my tv. Or if it's ever coming back on CTV.

I read on Perezhilton that Serena has some lesbian kissing with someone.
I'm pretty sure that Chuck is gay, just from what I got at the end of the last book...
And then there was Dan's struggle with trying to figure out whether he was bi or not (well it says gay in the book, but honestly, if he was in love with a girl, and then thought he had feelings for a guy, he's bi). I hope that's in show, when it gets to around there? I mean, it was pretty hilarious.

It's definitley gonna be Serena's brother who is gay.

They'd never make Nte, Dan or Chuck gay. chyeah right.

I hope the show doesn't get cancelled, I really like it.

Never read the book though.

If you think the show is bad, you should read the books.
My mother decided to read the books I have from the Gossip Girl series, and she read most of the It Girl series, and she was like holy cow.

I read the books back in middle school. They were pretty good, but I lost interest.

I don't want the show to go off though, it's pretty addicting.

Um okay, so they had like two racy episodes and ratings sucked last week?
Yeah that's no reason to cancel a show.

ok so back to the topic of the thread...

so who is the one that is gay? Also, I did not finish reading all the books, when did Dan think he was gay? I don't think I got to that part. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was Chuck either. In the books, they pretty much hint that he is gay.

Babyjustrun

The second last book he makes out with some guy named Greg.
In the last book Dan thinks he's gay because of that, and then later he realizes he's still in love with Vanessa, and then like Chuck gets together with Greg.

I think it's rather sad that Chuck doesn't have Sweetie in the show =/

I don't think it's cancelled because back in March they announced they were doing a second season...

i think the shows hold too much back. theyre trying to be what everyone would imagine a show like that to be, instead of being genuine. it bothers me.

I saw the new episode today.
Yeah, I'm behind. CTV dropped the show, don't know why...
So I had to watch it on some sketchy site.
But whatever.
It was good =)

i'm so confused with what happend in the last episode.

what happend with what georgina put in her drink?
cuz if what happend actually equals what i'm thinking then i'm pretty sure that serena is the gay one.

and i know that in the books chuck is gay, but i think it's either serena or her bro.
but i think they put her bro through wayy to much (ie his almost committing suicide and all) to make him gay, too.

ps. what do we think of the whole vanessa/nate thing???

Babyjustrun
05-01-2008, 04:13 PM
It's a date rape drug.
I'm pretty sure she probably took Serena back to her hotel, and Serena passed out.
Serena has a past with Georgina (like with with), I'm pretty sure that's what she's hiding.

And I love the Nate & Vanessa thing, but it's not going to last.

I would read the books if I knew what stinking order they were in. Anyone care to explain?

Babyjustrun
05-01-2008, 04:36 PM
It should say in the newer editions of the books?
Or you could take the last book and look there.
They have the titles in order in them.

ohhhhh

i thought when the said "history with" that it just meant that like they did bad things together.

okay so serena's the gay one.

and i agree. i like vanessa/nate but i'm pretty sure that blair's gonna do something pretty mean to make nate dump her.

Babyjustrun
05-01-2008, 04:56 PM
Very likely she did have a history. I read on Perez Hilton that there's going to be scenes of her making out with Georgina.

But, no there is a gay guy.

And I'm sure Vanessa/ Nate won't last because if the show ends (lol, that's probably forever away) how the books do, she's with Dan, and Nate sails away, not with anyone.

I've read the books.
They're pretty good.
Inappropriate, sort of. But who cares. It's what our lifestyle is nowadays.

And I've not watched the show, except one episode.
It's okay.

I LOVE Gossip Girl. I starting watching it and got hooked at the beginning of the season. But of course Monday night the heavens decided to pour out of the sky so i lost power and missed the episode. Guess i will have to try and catch it on sunday.
P.S. I totally agree with the OP, once you watch it you are hooked. And please watch, i wouldn't want to see the show go away because of stupid ratings!!

Babyjustrun

If it aired on Mondays here, I would never get to watch it. I already have two tv shows on that night.
But it doesn't air here.
So I have to stick to my Korean (or possibly Chinese or Japanese) buddy who tapes it and puts it online with foreign subtitles.

Not at all. They're pretty different.

Some stuff:

- Nate's two best friends in the books are Serena and Blair, while also hanging out with boys named Anthony, Charlie and Jeremy. He also couldn't stand Chuck. In the TV series, Chuck is Nate's very best friend.

- In the TV series, it is said that Nate and Blair have been dating since kindergarten, whereas in the book series, they have only been dating since right before Serena left for Boarding School.

- Jenny in the books has brown curly hair and a huge chest.

- In the book series, Dan dates Serena only for a brief period of time; in the TV series he dates Serena through a span of months.

- In the book series, he dates Serena only for a brief period of time; in the TV series he dates Serena through a span of months.

- In the books, Serena came home from boarding school because she got kicked out for not returning for the beginning of senior year; in the TV series, the television version of her sibling, Eric, attempts suicide, compelling Serena to return home (in her junior year).

- In the books, Serena’s parents are still married and her mother, Lilian, never spoke to Dan Humphrey’s father, let alone dated him; In the TV series, Serena’s mom dated Dan’s father, Rufus.
