Do I need to stay at the Radisson 1 night or 2 to see KSC??

Here's my dilemma:

We plan to do Kennedy Space Center on Friday before the cruise. We will be staying on property in WDW beforehand. If we check out of CBR Friday morning, can we drive to the Radisson, check in (or at least check our luggage), then get to KSC and still have a full day? Should we plan to go to the Radisson on Thursday instead so we have more time on Friday? Suddenly, I see our 'week' in WDW getting pared down to about 2 days!!

Anyone got a good game plan for this itinerary?? All we care about doing in WDW this year is Epcot, TL and DD. We will arrive late Tuesday night...

If I were doing it, I would just leave the luggage in the car, go directly to KSC, spend the day there, and then go check into the Radisson. KSC hours were somewhat limited when we were there (may want to check times on the website). I think you would lose a lot of time by driving past the center and checking in, and then turning back around to go back KSC (it's about 35-40 minutes from Cocoa). You could leave on Thursday, but I've always thought there was alot more to do at WDW than KSC and Cocoa. We spent from 9:30 to about 3:30 at KSC on a Saturday, and saw everything we wanted to, except any IMAX movies. It was also boyscout Saturday, so it was very crowded. I think it would be a workable trip to leave WDW at breakfast, stay from 9-5 at KSC and then go over the Radison--just MHO.
