But anyodd - continued good luck cutting the BEO! I really hope you keep the cake after all the work and sketches you put into it. It's sure to be beautiful! :lovestruc
Sergio is a man of excellent taste - I love that set! If you don't want to wear it for the wedding, perhaps you could wear it at the rehearsal?
Good luck with everything you're up to right now and lets hope we both get over these wedding nightmares lol!

Hey hun! I've got a few ideas for cutting your BEO down.
- Instead of the String trio for the ceremony - how about just a violinist? Saves about $2205
- Have guests do a toast to whatever is in hand because it's free! Saves $333.76 or you can do sparkling cider for cheaper than the champagne
- See if you can come up with cheaper options for your floral, it may save you $1k or so
That's all I've got for now. HTH a bit! :confused3

I am really hopping that the jewelry set looks ok with the dress. We are planning an Ohana rehearsal dinner do you think the set would be too much to wear it there?

Thanks Gail for all your help, those are some awesome ideas! We found a trio for the ceremony that only charges $400 it includes a harp, violin and something else don't remember :confused3. So we removed that from the BEO. We also changed the trio at the cocktail hour to a solo violinist.
We removed the chanpagne toast. Everyone will toast with what they have, we also changed from bar package to BOC.
We made a few changes on the transportation. Floral we haven't touched yet I have a call with Laura on the 5th. So far we have reduced the Budget by $11,000.
Just stopping in to see how things were going. I love the jewelry Sergio bought you! It is stunning, he has awesome taste and what a sweetheart!

Not much to update. I've been fighting a little "family problem" the last few weeks. My cousin decided to plan their baby shower for the same day as my bridal shower. Whatever.

My bad dream this week is that I overslept! And Rob was left standing at the altar!! It changes weekly though! :lmao:
I don't think the set will be too much, honestly. Do you know what you're wearing to the rehearsal dinner? I think a set like that could be dressed up for down - it's just beautiful :lovestruc
Now that I'm thinking of it, I have a question for you - did you have to pay for the cake set when you were down there, or did they add it to the BEO? We're considering going with the same set you did - esp. with the color engraving! Ever since I found the wonders of Things Remembered, I've re-thought my glasses, gifts and cake set! :rotfl:

Hi, Carolina!
Just got caught up.
Everything sounds wonderful.
Just a note, in case it could help: When DH and I were cutting our BEO we asked if there was a mini motorcoach, and there is! It only holds 25 people, I think. But you should check and see how many of our guests are driving themselves. We found out our full motorcoach would be half empty on the ride to the ceremony and to the reception. So we did a mini motorcoach for that portion and the full motorcoach for the dessert party. Unfortunately it will only save you a few hundred dollars, but heck that's more honeymoon souvenirs!:thumbsup2 Even though I'm pretty sure this won't help you too much, I thought I would throw it out there for other brides' info too. :wizard:

Thanks Linda, I think changing BOC is what lowered the BEO so much all the other changes were pretty minor.
You know sometimes I think I CAN live with out them! I honestly am not looking forward to that trip. They already emailed me to let me know they are not going to the wedding.

I have to say Ken is pretty amazing, I love working with him. If I could I would plan a VR every year just to work with him.
Family :headache: !!! I feel so bad because my MOH has put so much work into the shower and to top it off shes preganant so it just makes me feel worse. Some people have already started taking sides! I have a feeling I am going to start uninviting people left and right. :rolleyes1
My bad dream this week is that I overslept! And Rob was left standing at the altar!! It changes weekly though! :lmao:

Ha Ha!!!! :rotfl: At least you weren't left at the alter Meg!! Have they gotten any better? Mine did they are not occuring as often which is wonderful cuz at least I can sleep better now.
I think I found a dress for the rehearsal, it is dark blue I will try it on one of these days here soon and you can tell me what you think.
The cake set was added to the floral proposal. Make sure you specify you want it or else they will not bring it. Things remembered engraving is the next best thing since slice bread! Ok maybe not that much but I love it especially the added color. The pictures really do not do it justice!!!
I am definitely going to have to keep this in mind! It's been a month since our session and we are STILL waiting for our BEO  but I know we will need to trim expenses from ours too!
Your plans all sound wonderful Carolina!
Thanks hun. I went for my PS in Feb and received my BEO and budget in April!!! So don't worry you'll get it soon! Disney really does over charge for everything but what are you gonna do, it's the price we pay. Right? At least that is how I convince myself it's ok to pay $3000 for a DJ and $1300 for a cake. :rolleyes1

That actually did help a lot. We decided instead of keeping the full motorcoach until 1:30 am we will use it to bring guest in and then use the smaller one to transport guests throughout the night back and forth. Thank you so much for that!

I finally recevied the final floral proposal, it came in around 2500, not including ceremony decor. Laura said they will not be able to do it. We are still waiting on the BEO and budget. Ken was on vacation for what seemed like forever!
[My bridal shower was this past weekend in Miami. I had so much fun! My MOH did it a her house. I don't have all the pictures but here are a few:
my outfit, the dress is actually the same color as the shoes:
The cake, we had a problem with the original lady so we went with someone else. I thought it came out really cute and it was so yummy! It was Tres Leches:

Me, My mom, and one of my uncles.
We have had nothing but problems getting approval from the bishop here. It turns out the hold up / problem was the rep we had at our local church. He was fired and in a matter of 2 weeks we had all the documentation complete signed, sealed by the diocese here and by the bishop in orlando. Everything is finally done! I spoke to Fr. Hoffman yesterday we agreed on a schedule and final details.
I also spoke to Randy. We sent him a check 2 weeks ago and he hasn't received it yet but he also moved, so hopefully he'll get it soon. We also finalized the schedule with him.
i ordered menu cards for the rehearsal dinner and bought the invitations:

I also bought invitations for the bridal breakfast. They don't really go with the theme but I thought they were cute:

Thanks girl! The palm tree invitations are by Faux Designs, I bought them at a local stationary store but I am sure you can find them online. They come in a box of 10 for about $16 each box. The are beautiful the pictures do not do them justice. The bamboo border is all in gold foil. If you want to see a sample let me know I can send you one. Also if you can't find them anyhwere I would be happy to pick some up and send them to you. Let me know.
For our Ohanas reservation I called at exactly 90 days but I called Group Dining, they gave us a time that was not so busy (6:50) but still told us that they do not guarantee that we will sit together. The lady I spoke to also said that she noted that it was the rehearsal dinner and they are usually really good about accomodating large wedding parties. We booked 25 people.

Carolina -
Your programs look great - I love the color of your crinnie!!! Great shoes - think about some gel insoles too might help a bit since you will be walking in EPCOT and they are different ground textures.
Your getting close - keep taking deep breathes it will all fall together perfectly.

Thanks Gail. The crinnie was really trial and error. We started out with very little dye let it go through 1 cycle and then added a bit more. We went through 6 cycles like that but it came out exactly how I wanted it.
So are you as nervous as I am. I am leaving in a week to miami and then we are driving to Orlando from there. I feel like :scared1: I was thinking we could all try to meet on the 2nd in the evening or sometime on the 6th, does that work for you?

Ok sorry it has taken me so long to start these I still don’t have very many decent pictures. Everyone posts them on face book but no one will send them to me.
I flew one week before to Miami so I could meet up with my mom and finish a few things. I had 4 suitcases with me plus my dress!! The flight was delayed and when we finally boarded the plane we sat on the runway for 2.5 hours the storm caused them to close down the airport. I didn’t arrive to Miami until 1:45 am!
When I arrived for some reason my mom was a bit confused and thought Sergio was flying with me so she had the most gorgeous roses for us. Each rose had our names on it. They were super cute.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/933355dc.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/e97be0d6.jpg
I was able to finish my shoes, my mom made a garter for me, she finished embroidering the finger tip veil, we picked up all of the dress, oh and the wine bottles arrived while I was there.
My shoes. Ok well one shoe not sure why I didn’t take a picture of the other one – it has a C and a Mickey head.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/fd8085cd.jpg
We ordered two types of wine: Raspberry merlot, and peach apricot chardonnay. I was really happy with the labels they made.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/41e03613.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/6b696e9e.jpg
I have to say I was very happy with the dresses. The original BM are by Jim Hjelm but he doesn’t make them in the colors I wanted and she was able to recreate them exactly for $55!!! She also made my moms dress and modified the FG dress to have the blue sash instead of the ivory sash. We had to modify the MOH’s dress because she is 6 months pregnant but she still looked super cute.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/photo9.jpghttp://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/22616dec.jpg
We also made chocolates for the welcome bags, they were carriages.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/a17688f0.jpg
Day 1 9/3:
We ended up leaving Miami to Orlando early Thursday morning. The original plan was to leave the day before but everything with my family is an ordeal. Sergio, Marcel, my brother, FSIL and a few friends were all arriving that night. Needless to say many things did not go according to plan.
The car packed (you can see the roses in one of the pictures I was determined to make them last so Sergio could see them. At this point they had already survived 7 days and they still looked pretty good):
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/f6696390.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/5cd69f85.jpg
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/f962d779.jpg
So we finally arrive at AKL. I am such a freak when the officer greeted us at the gate we said Welcome home and I started crying! What a retard my mom thought I was psycho. We checked into our room, picked up the tuxes and went about our business. The first room they gave us still had someone’s stuff in it along with a few dozen beer bottles and trash, so we went down to the front desk and requested a different room. Overall they were pretty friendly.

When we got into our room I was greeted by my boyfriends head (that sounds funny):
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/IMG_0364.jpg
We had a ton of stuff to do that afternoon:
My mom needed to get her nails done
Hit Wal-Mart – stuff for welcome bags, water bottles
best buy: card for my camera that I somehow managed to mess it up where the camera won’t even read it.
Michaels – glow stick and a few other things for the kids bags for the reception.
We headed back to the hotel to put everything together. We didn’t even have the favors dome. My aunt, a few cousins and the FG all came over to help assemble everything. I can’t believe I forgot to take pictures of the mess we had. We left the balcony door open all day and well into the evening until we had a very UNWELCOME visitor – a huge no GIANT cockroach flew in! It’s amazing how something so tiny can create such havoc. The little thing had us all screaming, 6 grown women and 2 kids; it flew around landed on my cousin’s head, on my foot – eventually we were all squished in the bathroom. One of our neighbors must have complained about the screaming someone called the room. I managed to sneak out of the bathroom to answer the phone they said they would send pest control up 20 minutes later still nothing so I called and used my Bridezilla voice a (which came out a lot during the week) and 5 minutes later they were there. The lady that came actually picked it up by its antennas SO GROSS! She went on to explain the natural order of insects and how they don’t kill any animals… blah blah blah I spaced out somewhere during the lecture. We were finally able to finish the favors and welcome bags minus the nasty unwanted visitor. It was pretty late so we went to the Mara for a quick dinner.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSC04576.jpg
Sergio and his posse arrived that evening.

Day 2 9/4 MW Tux Disaster, Rehearsal, Rehearsal Dinner
Bright and early the next morning the guys got up to try on their tuxes. What a mess that turned out to be. Most of my guys had gone in for 2 fittings to make sure everything was right, so I don’t understand why we had so many problems. Since the wedding was the next day we had to drive out (45mins ) to the winter garden store to get things fixed. This turned into a 3 hour trip! The was not too happy to have to redo everything, but she at least tried to help. A few times she brought out the wrong things or would forget something but after 4 tuxes, alterations and countless changes we were able to get things right.
Below is a list of things that were wrong:
Groom, Sergio: The sleeves of the jacket came up above his wrist. The pants were 2 sizes too big and way too long, the shirt collar was too tight. The shoes and socks were good.
Son, Marcel: For some reason they sent a 12 yr old boy a size 42 regular mens jacket but sent kids pants that were too small, he couldn’t even zip them up. The shoes were fine but the socks were mens 9-10.
Groomsmen: The shoes for the GM were wrong. Both tuxes were too small for them and one of them the shirt was too small.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSC04577.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSC04578.jpg
Anyway so by the time we finished there it was 2:00 and we still had to deliver all of the boxes to Francks and get ready for the rehearsal. We hurried back to the hotel and got ready we were all ready by 3:30 all of the stuff still had to be delivered and everyone that was going to the rehearsal was meeting me in the lobby of AKL at 4:00 which gave me exactly 30 minutes to load the car, get everyone organized in cars, drive over to FS and come back. My mom went with me to drop of the stuff while everyone else waited. As we are driving back 2 calls come in my MOH calls to let us know she will be late to the rehearsal and one of my bridesmaids calls to let us know that they were running late and it didn’t look like they were going to make it to the rehearsal but would be there for dinner. By 4:15 I had herded everyone into their corrals and they were on their way. The rehearsal was at 5:00 we were just a few minutes late, the priest was waiting for us outside.
So when we walk in I ask the priest if he can confess us. For those of you that don’t know living together is a sin and we would not be allowed to get married if we had not confessed. He agreed to it with the condition that is was only just us because he had a private mass to attend. Perfect! We started the rehearsal – the MOH made it on time and the BM made it half way through. The rest of the rehearsal went great, everyone knew what they were supposed to do. Wonderful!

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSCN3053.jpg
We finally arrive at the POLY. That was the longest car ride ever! As we are getting out of the car my mom receives a call from her oncologist, who is also a really good family friend. As she steps away to talk to him I run inside and grab leis for everyone. While Sergio grab all the other stuff. I distribute the leis and we all head upstairs to wait for our table. When I checked in I gave them the box of favors and menus to set at each place setting. I was pleased to find out they were going to sit us at one of the long tables. I was a bit worried because when you make your ressie that is the first thing they tell you. Everyone went to the bar to enjoy some drinks while we wait. I met with Mikkel, who did our grooms cake.
Our grooms cake. The flag around the ball is from Sergio’s favorite soccer team:
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSCN3069-1.jpg
Everyone lounging:

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSC04583.jpg
The girl that checked us in saw that we had the cake and came over. She had already talked to the manager and had set aside a place in the kitchen for is to set down the cake! As the cake leaves, Gail (a bride from the DISboards) comes up to us to say Hi. She was having dinner at Kona and recognized us. She is super sweet!
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSCN3056.jpg
Group picture, there are a few heads hiding in the back somewhere:
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/73d4211c.jpg
When we get to the table we realize that there are only 15 place settings and we are 24 including the kids. That was completely my fault I forgot to tell them we had more people. They immediately brought over 2 more tables, chairs and even set down the extra menus and favors. They take the drink orders and within minutes start bringing out the food. You could tell everyone was enjoying themselves. It was a lot of fun. The food was amazing!! Some time during dinner the Magic Kingdom fireworks started. Everyone was really excited; none of them had ever seen MNSSHP FW before.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSCN3073.jpg
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh294/camara381/DSCN3092.jpg
The lady that does the entertainment there asked us if we would help her with the limbo dance. I agreed for the both of us! I didn’t think much of it and next thing you know she brings over maracas, grass skirts, a million leis. The look on sergio’s face when he saw her was too funny he looked frightened He was a good sport about it though and seemed to be having fun. Once we were all dressed up in our royal outfits we led the parade around the restaurant, danced around a bit and held the pole for the limbo contest.

After dinner everyone headed home and we decided to head over to DTD for a bit and meet up with a few of Sergio’s friends.

YAY for the TR!!!
As I was reading your first couple entries, I was thinking, OMG I am not the only one who had a ton of issues!! Up until my wedding day i felt like NOTHING went right! So I completely sympathize with some of your issues.

Congratulations (a bit late)! Sorry to hear it rained but you looked AMAZING! Your dress is gorgeous, I love the blue crinnie and the crystals on the bottom of your shoes! Your bouquet is AMAZING! Are those orchids real or silk? Either way I LOVE them- they are HUGE! Sorry to hear about all the tux troubles- atleast they made it right in the end but I think I would have had a MAJOR bridezilla moment over this! Can't wait to see more pics of your big day! Ohana's looks like it was a hit! So glad it worked out and that they were able to accomodate your group (even though they thought it was only a group of 15 at first)- it's good to know they know they can deal with last minute changes!
