Why yes it is! That's good we can agree to be mutually jealous! :lmao:

I'll try to post something in my PJ, but photos are usually a no-no.

I can't decide what stamp I want to do for our 25 new invitations we're sending to immediate family and the wedding party. I really love the cake one b/c I do cake decorating and everyone getting the invitations knows that...and it's semi-neutral in colors, but I think the dolphin stamp may go better with the colors of the invitation (blue and brown) and our beach location.

What do you think? It may simply be determined by weighing the invitation when I have it put together at the post office and they say $0.61 isn't enough and I need $0.64 but a girl can play around in the meantime!

Here's the cake:
http://shop.usps.com/wcsstore/PostalStore/upload/images/574140_200x200.jpg

Here's the dolphin:
http://www.usps.com/communications/newsroom/2009/pr09_022n.jpg

OR if I need $0.88 (or a little less) I'm going to do matching sets of these:
http://shop.usps.com/wcsstore/PostalStore/upload/images/678840_200x200.jpg

Either way I really love the ones above so I'll use them for thank you cards. I know, I'm thinking way too much about stamps! :rolleyes1 But it's just the way I am! Detail oriented. :)

Personally the dolphons are my favorite because they are my favorite animal and I looove the ocean. But I think the cake one is a little classier. I can't rememeber how casual your wedding is so the dolphins may work. My wedding was casual so we just used the Disney ones the post office had. But I do love the king and queen if you need more postage.

I know, but when I've researched custom stamps they're upwards of $16 per sheet and I don't want to spend that much.

Dawn - it's super informal. Our original invites had the Disney stamps (which were perfect b/c there was a Steamboat Willie-ish one with Mickey as a captain!) but they won't be enough postage this time around.

Those King and Queen stamps are really cool. Now you've got me looking through all the stamps on the USPS website and trying to figure out how I can use a three cent stamp with a Chippendale chair on it :rotfl: Maybe mail something to my college professor who had us design a chair museum my last semester of college ....

There's a really cool green Chinese New Year (I think that's it) stamp I'll post on your PJ that made me think of you.

Thanks for the advice! I think the dolphin's the way to go. I hope I can get them!

I FOUND PURPLE SHOES I LOVE!! :cool1: And they're KATE SPADE! (My sister is a designer there.) :cool1::cool1::cool1:

http://ksp.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pKSLCI1-5733840reg.jpg

They're more than I'd normally spend on a pair of shoes but it's for a special occasion and I can think of a few events I'll wear them for. Plus, they're even more special b/c it's my sister's company. :goodvibes

I have to find somewhere to try them on first (which is hard at the moment because they're being released in June, lol). I have wide feet and I can't wear certain designers because they're so narrow. I'll keep you updated!

I LOVE the shoes!!! Thats so cool that you sisters a designer for Kate Spade. I am so jealous - you must have a closet full of their shoes and handbags.

If it comes down to the dolphin or the cake I would go with the d. On every sailing we have been on we have always seen dolphins swimming along side the ship. I think it fits your wedding better. The cake stamp I think is too formal and stuffy looking.

Yup! Tim Gunn's actually the head creative director (I think that's his title) for Liz Claiborne, and Liz Claiborne owns Kate Spade (Juicy Couture too).

Man, was it HOT. Sweat dripping everywhere!

Anyway...

More DIY projects: my hair combs. I don't know if I will use these but I like the idea of something sparkly in my hair other than crystals on pins (but I may go that route instead - who knows?). I think they're each about 1.5" wide, with crystals and pearls on them. Yes, I made them. :-)

Thanks for the compliment. Let me know if you make one! I would love to see it. I don't think I'll be writing a book on this anytime soon but I have considered some "how to" books for a number of scrapbooking topics and one for brides...on a topic I am not posting b/c I may actually do it.

Is it just me did anyone else see hidden mickey glancing at the hair accessories??? OK I know they're pearls, but maybe they could be arranged as Mickeys :bride:

Mikkel - Congrats in advance. My best friend plans to be married on 9/10/09 on the Magic. We're hoping for a itinerary change so we'll be at sea 9/9/09 and can move the wedding day. Who thought we'd be hoping for a hurricane :boat:

I created these great tank tops for my bridal party and 2 good friends.

I simply bought 4 Daisy Duck rhinestone appliques from ebay, some other loose iron ons to make my own transfers and the necessary mylar paper to do so, and then tons of tank tops from Forever 21 for $3.50 a piece. Here's the photos...

Daisy Duck: I made four of these - 1 for me, and three for my bridal party (2 matrons of honor and 1 maid of honor). I decided it'd be really cute to wear to the pool during the cruise (cover up kind of) and I have visions of everyone's hair being in a pony tail :-) to reveal Daisy Duck on their backs! So cute, right?

Here's the back of the tank top (it looks REALLY long but when you put it on it bunches up so it's shorter):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/WeddingTankTops5.jpg

And here's the front of the tank top on the left (plain) and the back on the right with the iron-on transfer:
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/WeddingTankTops6.jpg

Here's a close up of the design (I bought it "as is" so I didn't create this one - just simply ironed it on!):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/WeddingTankTops4.jpg

I also really wanted to make something for the bridal party, myself, and my future SIL, Kristen, and my other really good friend Jill (I actually designed 2 extra for my future MIL and my mom too but I have to get them "mom appropriate" shirts to iron the design onto). For these I bought the mylar paper you need to make your own iron-on heat transfer design and loose rhinestones. I bought small black ones and really tiny "clear" ones.

I then printed out the design I created from Photoshop, and followed the instructions included with the mylar paper of how to create the design.

This is me with tweezers for 2 hours creating the design (well worth it!):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/RhinestoneCreation.jpg

And then I ironed them on the front upper right-hand corner and voila!
Here's the tank tops...

Here's the front (three in a row...though I made 6 total so far):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/WeddingTankTops.jpg

Here's the front even closer up:
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/DSC_0428.jpg

And here it is full length (and again, not as long on as when it's laying on the floor):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/WeddingTankTops2.jpg

I also ordered sandels for my bridal party. I ended up just buying a pair for me to wear with jeans in everyday life and then bought 2 pair for my 2 matrons of honor. My sister (maid of honor) already has a pair she loves (actually she has them in a few colors). They're a great price - on sale for $9.99 - and they look better than the average flip flop.

My plan is for them to go barefoot but if the sand's too hot we need a back up plan. Here's the plan, ordered in silver (they look better on actually then they do in the photo):
http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee72/MikkelPaige/Sandels.jpg

absolutely love the tank tops you made!!! I'm going to give it a shot :thumbsup2
