Hi everyone, my name is ricky and this is my first post on this forum:) , We are a family of 5 ( 2 adults and children of 3, 6 & 9!!) we are planning on going to wdw for the first time next april, we have got Accommodation already as the in-laws have a house they rent out on the glenbrook resort. I have got a quote from totalforida.com for flight and car hire and it was £2975 - that is from the 2nd april until 19th april, flying with United airlines with a stop at washington DC. if anyone could comment if this is a good price or not i would be very grateful. Thanks. ps would just like to say this is a brilliant site with more info than i knew was out there!!!

Hi, rickmanone and a very warm welcome to the DIS. :wave2:
That doesn't sound like a bad quote, particularly if it includes car hire, plus all the necessary insurance and taxes, for your entire 17 day trip. What other quotes have you found? Flying indirect wouldn't be for me - I would have to be saving mega-bucks to consider it. Is it just a stopover to clear customs and immigration and then re-board the same plane, or do you have to connect to another flight? I'd want to be absolutely sure I couldn't get a direct flight for a similar price before I went ahead and booked.

:welcome:to the Dis Ricky.
I am not very good with prices as i always book a package deal.
But to give you a bit of info were going April 1st for 16 nights-Easter Hols.We booked with Virgin Holidays+because our hotel is Accomadation only,i had to book fly-drives(with Virgin Holidays) and they came in pretty good.
Adult Fly Drive £473 each
Child Flight £279 each
These are direct flights. We don't drive so Virgin have given us free transfers instead.x.

Hi thanks for all the great welcomes!!! :) , Regarding my booking, im 99% sure its just a stopover and that we will be boarding the same plane. I have emailed them and just waiting for conformation. The quote includes flights, all taxes, a full 4 course meal, drinks and fuel surcharges. We would be flying on a 777 aircraft with a baggage allowance of 46kg per person. also included for the full holiday duration is a 7 seat luxury minivan fully insured for all adult drivers and with 1 free tank of fuel. it seems to be a good price but as this is our first long haul holiday (we have only been as far as spain!!) im not sure if i should keep looking about or just go ahead and book???

I think that is a decent price, Travel city direct are quoting £4700 fly drive on 3rd April which i think is silly money.

Welcome.
We have been last 2 Easters with Virgin with Miles and Money. When we booked for this Easter I checked full price, we paid £410+ 2,000. Full price, if I remember rightly was £510 for adults, £435 child. Total for you would have been £2,325 + 7 seater with tank of gas should cost around £400 so around £2,700 with direct flights.
Personally I think the price you have is top money for indirect flights and you have nothing to lose by waiting. I would never book until 11 months from return date to see all options.

Hi and welcome to the Dis
I am currently planning my first non package trip to WDW so can't comment on the price really. We just paid £1319 m+m for 2 adults and 2 children (5 & 11) for Feb 2009. This doesn't include any car hire though.
