A trip summary:

For those of you who weren't subjected to Part one, here is a brief summary of the trip so far:

After Kim arrived on Saturday, Josh and gang and Wendy and gang all arrived by Sunday. We stayed at the BCV. The rest of the trip so far has been filled with:

Restroom ratings. A single flush means it was a clean, quiet, non smelly restroom. A quintuple flush means it was unbearable:

Thank goodness, we have a "laughing place' to come to daily(Dis) and a wonderful place to visit that will always cheer us up. Sometimes I have felt that Disney is a crutch for that(for me, like surrounding myself with DENIAL) but realized that it is nothing but a gift to allow us knowledge that life goes on and here we are and to make the most of it.

Find meaning and fulfillment in every moment that God presents to you.

So when we last left you, we were getting off Kali River Rapids. Erin was expressing her displeasure over riding Kali. She won't be making a return visit anytime soon.

So we decide we are going to do the Maharajah Jungle Trek again. Wendy and Erin had missed this since Erin had the Great Flame Tree BBQ Showdown and lost to Wendy, having to go back to the BCV.......

So we do the trek. I think we saw a few more animals..or at least Wendy got some better shots...

Ok - just a quick pop in to quell the masses. Don't get too excited, it's really not *that* great of a story... ha ha ha. Ok, about the commando story... first some background for those non-Friends fans... here's an article describing what "going commando" means.

Anyway, we had gone on Kali River or something where we got all wet, and due to that fact, I tried to go in the restroom to dry off... but ended up just removing an article of clothing (I'll let you figure that out) since that wasn't going to dry as fast... (and who wants to sit around in wet clothes all day). So then I promptly told Jordan (yes, we're a weird family that way) - who's a Friends fan - "Psssst, guess what - I'm going commando" To which he appropriately responded: :scared1:

Ha ha ha ha ha. But it was an amusing day nonetheless.

Get kids who are natual comedians. Ha ha ha. Or very vain. I can't recall exactly, but I think it was actually Erin's idea to do the different emotions... not on this trip but some time prior - so she's all "Mom, ok, take a picture of me scared"... "Take me sad"... "Take me happy"... etc. Dylan hasn't quite mastered the nuances of the more complex emotions, so we keep his pretty simple - happy, sad, scared, etc. Sometimes we'll make the face ourselves and he just copies us. Erin comes up with her own interpretations of the emotions we ask for. Sometimes we're all, "what? that's your scared face? what's that all about?!" Ha ha.

You know I love those crazy pics! Just imagine the pics that Dylan and Erin will take when they grow up...

They already like taking pictures of things. Many times they just do it pretend (make their hands into cameras and say "cheese" and then "click") - so it's pretty funny.

Dylan: "Erin, take a picture of me saying cheese"
Erin: "Ok... (holds hands up like a camera)... say cheese"
Dylan: "Cheese"
Erin: "Click" "Ok, my turn..."
and then vice versa...

Ok, back to the story: So in 1999, on a particularly warm day in September, we found ourselves at AK. I was wearing a loose cotton-poly outfit that sort of combined tank top and shorts, and buttoned up the front - so it sort of looked like a dress but it was shorts (note: I may try to post a pic of it later - but it's really not that important). Anyway, we had gone on Kali River or something where we got all wet, and due to that fact, I tried to go in the restroom to dry off... but ended up just removing an article of clothing (I'll let you figure that out) since that wasn't going to dry as fast... (and who wants to sit around in wet clothes all day). So then I promptly told Jordan (yes, we're a weird family that way) - who's a Friends fan - "Psssst, guess what - I'm going commando" To which he appropriately responded: :scared1:

Great update! The kids are as cute as always! The first picture of the tigers is fantastic - I love the architectural detail that their pool has. We never got to do any of the treks at AK :sad.

Get kids who are natual comedians. Ha ha ha. Or very vain. I can't recall exactly, but I think it was actually Erin's idea to do the different emotions... not on this trip but some time prior - so she's all "Mom, ok, take a picture of me scared"... "Take me sad"... "Take me happy"... etc. Dylan hasn't quite mastered the nuances of the more complex emotions, so we keep his pretty simple - happy, sad, scared, etc. Sometimes we'll make the face ourselves and he just copies us. Erin comes up with her own interpretations of the emotions we ask for. Sometimes we're all, "what? that's your scared face? what's that all about?!" Ha ha.

Wendy, my kids do this too :lmao: . In fact, they do this with other kids too. DD will pick up any available prop and tell her friends the say "Cheese". But get them in front of a real camera and it takes some coaxing to get them to pose. DS is good for about 2 pictures. Do you use a digital camera? My kids love looking at themselves after snapping a picture... so maybe that's incentive to pose... who knows...

I love the update. Erin and Dylan are great! I love how they just join in and accept that their family poses for crazy pics. I wonder how I'm going to get my family to do the same this summer :lmao:

I think it's genetic. We're all weird. :laughing: I think they see how much fun we're all having being stupid so they of course have to join in the fun (can't miss any FUN!!)... ha ha ha. It's fun having them engage in all the crazy "traditional" poses we've done through the years...

That's still over 2 years away...how about after she's potty trained...

I say pre-potty training or when they're totally fully trained. There's nothing worse than having waited in line for a long time just to have a newly trained kid say "Mommy, I have to go potty" and then you rush off to the bathroom just to hear "Oh, no potty anymore..." Grrrrrr. :mad: Me love diapers :thumbsup2 Ha ha ha.

I think I torment Wendy more. She's way more mature than I'll ever be.

She's too much like me -- I am sure it is a veneer! ;)

It was L-O-N-G-long!! :drive: (But, the kids did better than expected!) There were some advantages to having the van at WDW but, all things considered, I'd rather fly next time if we can afford it.

So when we last left you Wendy and I were putting the kids through picture madness....

We left the Jungle Trek and Wendy wanted to get the kids pictures at Camp Minne and Mickey.

We were in no rush. So we just strolled through Asia.....The monkeys (the ones other than me) were very active. So we stopped and took pictures. I've never seen them so active. We were having good animal mojo:

I love the pictures. We went to DAK is past September on our last day but only had a few hours to spend there. We did ride Kali, three times (our littlest guy was just 39 inches and he was so excited to get to ride a BIG ride). There was no line so they lest us go again, and again. We were all soaked!

We are looking forward to seeing more of the Animal Kingdom this September.

On our last visit in January of 07 this park moved up on my list of favorites:thumbsup2 , we really enjoyed the time we spent there, probably had to do with the fact that it wasn’t 100 sweaty degrees out.
