Hey Jordy! I was laughing at that picture of the ink on the carpet where you circled the spot and drew arrows all around it...way to make it NOT stand out. If there are any BCV CM's on your trippie you are soooo busted! :lmao:
Oh and I had to share this with you because only other pasty white people will feel my pain. The DBF quit his job last week so I was driving him all over the dang state of CT so he could fill out applications and go for interviews...that was this past Friday. Well, apparently, I was in the car for SO LONG, that my left arm got completely burned - except for where my sleeve was, which is still pasty white. So if you looked at the two colors side by side, I was seriously GLOWING white. But aside from that, the lower half of my left arm was bright red and my right arm was still pasty white... Thankfully, the burn has faded back to pasty whitness so I'm balanced again.

:rotfl: Oh my gosh, she is too cute! My parents gave me a cookie monster cake for one of my first birthdays and I ended up looking like him when I was done with my cake!
My favorite baby photo of myself is of me, standing up in my highchair, probably around 18 months old or so, and COVERED in 'bas-getti" sauce. I'm looking at the camera like, What? Those messy food photos are the best!
Thanks for sharing!

I know you and Wendy are close, but I don't think I'd let anyone in to witness that except my DH. Of course, I had two c-sections, so they didn't allow anyone else in the operating room. But, I did have a paramedic student pass out while watching my surgery! It was hilarious! :rotfl:

Me too! Dude wouldn't that suck?? I've got tix to the grand opening of the new stadium on August 16th. They're giving away free tickets to tour the stadium and a bunch of the tix ended up on ebay for $50+. Now they're releasing about 20K more tickets. I bet they'll be a lot of very upset people knowing they spent money on something they could have gotten for free!!!! :rotfl:

An announcement...
I'm not sure I'm going to make it to WDW before my next official trip, especially with a trip to DC and CT coming up next year.
I just started officially planning the next WDW trip set for late June 09. I don't really like going during the summer, but a few people that may go are bound by school schedules.
I'm not sure I'll do a PTR until I finish my TR, but I thought I'd give you a preview...I thought I had brought my new binder home, but I left it at church....

Binders come in handy mostly to store any WDW related info in one place. I like storing confirmation info in there for air and hotel..just in case.

I usually just use the way too detailed itinerary as a guideline. I certainly don't do attractions in the exact order that I wrote them (not all the time anyway). I write so many drafts that I pretty much remember stuff by memory....

I may never get married, but I am more open to it than I was a year ago.
I AM that detailed, but I use the attractions/wait times more as a guideline. I find if the group is larger you have to cut down the number of attractions you can get to...traveling from one place to another just take alot longer....

I don't know why I do this to myself. Going with people that haven't never been before sometimes can be work. Not that I really mind, but you do want to make sure they have a good time and you want to make sure they avoid rookie mistakes (although I made a few rookie mistakes this last trip). Going with vets makes life easier and you don't feel like you need to go at a fast pace.....

Thanks for all the compliments on the pictures. We really had fun watching her play in her cake. It took nine years for me to get pregnant for her due to infertility issues. We are all spoiling her rotten. She is a perfect example of never giving up on your dream. I had two kids but I never felt like my family was complete. I wanted another baby and Grace was a dream in my heart for nine years. I will never forget ther moment I found out I was pregnant. It was like that song " Laughed Until We Cried" I was laughing and crying at the same time. I kept saying "nine years". This last year has been a dream come true for me. If I rambled on I am sorry. I just still can't believe my baby is here. Thanks again for all the compliments

Jordan, I think we'll be in the same boat. Natasha hasn't been since she was 8 :scared1: She started telling my brother about attractions she wants to visit next year. My brother had to inform her that a couple no longer exist :lmao:
Also, I need to pick your brain a bit. We're trying to decide on a resort and have been considering Beach Club and Boardwalk Villas. My brother feels the need to be close to a sports bar, so that's factoring in. I know you are the Beach Club expert, so I want to ask you. I'll PM you :thumbsup2

Jackie,
I know alot of people have meetings to discuss the trip. Maybe I'll do that so we can all get on the same page.:rolleyes1
I am planning on staying 5 nights AFTER the trip with everyone else. It'll take me 2 days to recover and then I can enjoy some relaxing days by the pool or TL....

I got a bit choked up
Jordan, I think we'll be in the same boat.
Beach Club is still close to the ESPN Club. Not a whole lot farther than the BWV.
Ask away......

Jordan, even though I am new to the boards, I have really enjoyed reading your reports. I have lol'd :rotfl2: numerous times at work and my coworkers think I am nuts. I tell them, "it's just a hot, sweaty Asian and his peeps." My DW and I are planning be in the world that week of June as well... Maybe we will run into each other? :thumbsup2

Awww, Laura you've got me all teary eyed now. I'm so glad you guys were blessed with another child after 9 years of trying. That is some serious determination!! The pic's of Grace are SO CUTE!! I must no have gone back far enough earlier because I missed them.

I know you and Wendy are close, but I don't think I'd let anyone in to witness that except my DH. Of course, I had two c-sections, so they didn't allow anyone else in the operating room. But, I did have a paramedic student pass out while watching my surgery! It was hilarious! :rotfl:
I actually had all four parents and DH (plus random hospital workers) in my room for Erin's birth - so around 13 people were in there. My folks/Erin missed Dylan's birth (he came faster than they could get to the hospital) but my in laws were there with me (my FIL is an ob/gyn, so it's no big deal for him). Both births were videotaped as well - great home movies for later on - ha ha ha ha. popcorn:: I'm not so much a modest person when it comes to that. This time I'll probably have everyone in there if they're around. Jordan will be at church camp that week so he won't even be around until probably after I come home. I always thought I'd want to witness my own birth, which I why I videotaped them... worst case is I could always delete it, but I would hate to wish I had later on (since clearly - that's not anything you can re-do).
That's a crack up about the paramedic student passing out. Maybe he needs to go into a different field.
Wendy- Have you picked a name yet?
No name yet... still tossing around a few... poor #3... already getting less attention than the first two and she's not even out yet.
So what did they have? So excited for you only 2.5 weeks left.
Like J said - cousin Corrie had a boy (Ryden? something like that) and my friend Kim had a girl (Jaelyn).

I so know how much work it is...but well worth it in the end. Seeing it through new people's eyes always makes it that much better!

And FYI I am hoping (nothing definite) to see Christmas at DL one of these years. I have friends who live in Visalia (far i know) but they are willing to drive us all up and take us around LA & Anaheim and to DL for a day or so....and you KNOW we need to make a stop somewhere in your hood!

It is hot and sticky in June. Really not an optimal time to go. However, if you're traveling alone, you can really pace yourself and duck into the A/C often. When I went in June 07, I had 2 days alone and spent alot of time at Epcot Future World since alot of the pavilions are indoors.
It's hot, but doable.

I base it on this past June's hours/EMH parks/Fireworks and Parades schedule. The thing that probably varies the most is the EMH. I try and avoid EMH parks, but have scheduled a few Evening EMHs knowing that we probably won't get on much at Epcot or DHS. It's just nice to be in the parks later in the evening.
Let me know if you need any help. I'm at your service.

Chapter 66. Friday, February 8th. Day 9. Part 8. Overserved and New Jersey Drunks.
So when we last left you, Wendy and Derek returned from their dinner with Josh and RoboJo.
Kim and I decided to get out or maybe I decided I needed to get out since I had not really left the Beach Club Complex all day. So we changed and then walked over to the ESPN Club. What a shocker I know.
We get there and it is more crowded than I thought it would be. The mortgage conference ended a few days earlier as the last of those long faced conferees left. It seemed a new conference was in town.
Now just to let you know how crazy I actually am when it comes to planning. I actually try to find out what conferences are in and around the WDW resort. I do a google search and usually have a good idea of what's happening in and around Orlando. I can then adjust my itinerary accordingly.
This conference didn't show up on my radar. I never did find out who they were.
Kim and I find a few seats at the bar. Matt, my friend and bartender, was working so all was good.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008425.jpg
We were hungry so I think we shared some nachos. Sorry no picture.
Now I am a drinker. I can hold my liquor. 5-6 drinks no problem for me. Kim, on the other hand, can only have 1 drink. Even then she gets pretty happy. Oh and it has to be a mixed drink or wine NOT a drink like a martini.......
Well.........
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008422-1.jpg
She had to have an apple martini which was basically pure hard liquor.....
I stuck with my vodka/cranberry...just in an XL glass
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008423.jpg
Flat Winkers had to have a sip or two being the lush she is;)
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008424.jpg
Here's a picture of Matt and me. He's a great guy. I've been pulling up at chair with him at the bar since 1997.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008427.jpg
Now I have maybe 2 or 3 drinks and Kim says she's ready for another.....I'm motioning to Matt not to serve her another one, but she insists. Here she is telling us what drink this is. If you compare the first Kim picture and this one, look at her glass...slightly tilted...a little less controlled.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008426.jpg
We hang out for another hour and it's now about 11:30pm. Kim is definitely feeling "happy" and is ready for bed. I decide it's time to walk her back to the BCV. It was fun watching her walk back. I would let her walk in front of me and watch her do the Boardwalk Crawl back to the room. I definitely could've taken advantage of the fact she was drunk, but remember...I'm a gentleman....:rolleyes1 Really, I was respectful.
I wished her well and went back to ESPN, chuckling all the way back. When I got back, I got on Matt for making her that 2nd drink. I drank a few more drinks and I closed down the bar. I did my normal shuffle on over to the Atlantic Dance Hall and grabbed a seat to get a good view of the drunks coming out of the both Atlantic Dance and Jellyrolls.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008428.jpg
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008429.jpg
No drunk stories here....
So I walked back to the BCV taking a few shots on the way back...
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008431.jpg
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008432.jpg
I wasn't drunk and I wasn't particularly tired so I decided to head to the quiet pool at the BCV. I went and put my feet in the pool. It was sooo quiet. I had time to reflect on the past week. And then it happened....the New Jersey Drunks showed up--2 couples. They walked by me and said hi and walked right over to the Hot Tub and set up shop. They were obviously happy, maybe not drunk yet. They did bring some beer with them.
I didn't really think too much of them as I was caught up in my own world. At about 1:15am. A big group of people come walking from the parking lot probably coming back from Pleasure Island. They recognize the people in the Hot Tub and stop and talk to them. That's how I found out they were from Jersey as they talked about where they were from. This group was very friendly and one couple stopped and talked to me as well. Off they went.
About 10 minutes later I just happened to look over in the direction of the Hot Tub. The pool and hot tub are separated by bushes and plants so you don't get a full view, but I'm pretty sure I saw someone's behind and not in swimwear... . I turned quickly around. I wanted to go, but I thought..Hey this is my vacation and I was here first.....
About 5 minutes later, one of the couples heads over to the restrooms. I didn't even think anything of it. Well that is until the couple comes out of the restroom together and says to the other couple, "Hey it's your turn". They kind of laugh and look my way.....I then felt VERY uncomfortable and took that as my cue to leave....
Now...I don't know what they did exactly, but I can only imagine. I walked back to the room thinking to myself....How did I get so lucky?
I've chased a drunk with beer in my hand looking like a crazy Asian
I've listen to a guy drown his sorrows over his wife who left him.....at WDW.
I've helped a guy stumble back to his room.
I was introduced to a man who could have people "taken care of"
And now I find out that people from New Jersey like using Public Places.....;)
I knew I was going to have fun on vacation, but this was a whole other side of WDW I never knew existed....If nothing else it's made for good stories.
Day 9 is finally over.
Up next: Josh, Robo and Baby J depart...

You had me stumped....I figured it out...
This is more obscure U2..
If you twist and turn away.................If I could you know I would..If I could I would slip away...Surrender....
:thanks: :thumbsup2 Going to take a looksee! Do the hours generally stay the same? How about the flower Festival thing?
They don't vary too much. Mostly it's the shows/fireworks/parade times that change oh and EMH days.

It's a little after 7 a.m Eastern and I just got in from a LONG night. On the ride home, I was thinking about the amount of vodka consumed and what we mixed it with (see ptr for details :thumbsup2 ). I get home and decide it's time to catch up on your trip report. I think it may have been influenced by grey goose. Well, I was not expecting to read an update about people from my neighboring state partying in public :lmao: New Yorkers have a nickname for the Garden State. We call it Dirty Jersey. Now you know why :rotfl2:
The 2nd pic of Kim is hilarious. Haven't we all had nights like those?
I think you should write a guidebook about WDW nightlife. Until your tr, I wasn't aware that Disney had a nightlife that rivals NYC, LA, and Las Vegas :lmao:

Why the Rix during a big convention? Is it usually dead otherwise?
Rix is a new nightclub style bar. I can't imagine it being too busy at other times. If there's a CM night there that would be the night to go. Otherwise, during large conventions at the Coronado Resort, I'm sure it's busy in the evenings.

Jordan! Thanks for introducing us to Matt! How fun that you have your own bartender when you go there - almost like Cheers! :thumbsup2
Looks like Kim had a good time, and I'm sure she felt okay to imbibe a little because she had a gentleman like you to take care of her.
It is funny how many "interesting" people you meet at 1am. We never see that hour.
It's your own fault for being so entertaining. Like TR crack!
I keep contemplating whether or not my DH and I can sneak off to find some of this nightlife when we go with the kids in January. Me thinks we must!
What kind of night life are you sneeking out for? :rolleyes1
gee I am going to stroll the resorts around 1am.
great update and pics.

I read your update yesterday, but didn't have time to comment b/c we had a birthday party to attend at Wacky Bear.
I have no idea what's in an appletini, but it sure must be potent! At least it didn't have Kim dancing on the bar....I had 3 Painkillers last night (some drink with rum) and didn't even feel it then, but this morning I feel baaaad. DH is gone to the store now for coffee creamer. I think I'll stick to wine from now on.
Yuck, yuck, yuck on the hottub!:scared1: But it was so funny as TR material.
Hey, totally OT, but we're going to Disneyland for a day in March! Yes, I will be having questions for you later. It's been 10 years since we've been there.

He really does take care of other guests, but he makes sure that I always have a drink in front of me. I think I mentioned that the first time I walked in this past trip, he saw me and immediately poured me a vodka/cranberry.

It was alot of work as it was a church event for 300 people, but everything went very smoothly.
The weather was unusually nice. It's usually in the 90's or hotter, but this year it was in the high 70's and a great ocean breeze to keep it cool. Thank God!!!!!
