Jordan all caught up. I actually had to start my job yesterday so no DIS time :scared1: Good thing I only work one day a week:lmao:
Those kids are so gorgeous. Stormalong Bay looks great :goodvibes That's probably one beach I wouldn't mind going to.

Funny you say that because Dylan's now discovering the gender difference because if someone tells him he's beautiful he says "No I'm not, beautiful is too girly. I'm 'handsome'."
So funny.
:rotfl2: DS says this too! It started with him only saying it to us. Now he says it to anyone who calls him cute. If it's me saying it then his response comes complete with eye roll and a "mooooom!!" :rolleyes1

Connor has gotten to the point where he won't tell Chuck he loves him. He can only love girls he said. And he will no longer kiss Chuck or allow kisses from Chuck for the same reason. It's been going on for a few months now. :sad2:

Funny. Erin is like that when people say "You're just like a little Japanese doll." To that she insists, "I'm NOT A DOLL!!!!". Apparently it's very insulting to her. Ha ha ha.
Wendy, your kids are so dang cute, I don't know how you could ever discipline them!! One flash of their smile and I'd be gone!:cutie:
Again, it's because they're not your children. Believe me, as powerful as those smiles are, Mama's wrath is stronger. Ha ha ha ha ha.
Although sometimes it gets to me... the other day I asked Erin why she likes me to put notes to her in her lunchbox every day and she said, "because when I read them I think of you and it warms my heart."
Aw. :lovestruc But really, what six year old says "it warms my heart"?

Chapter 84. Sunday, February 10th. Day 11. Part 6. The park mojo is back!
So when I last left you, we had eaten an early dinner at Hurricane Hanna's and gotten some gelato (well not me). We took our time getting ready and made our way to the bus stop to go to the MK to see Wishes and hit up the EMH hours. Oh...and I had another DIS meet planned with EnglishRosie and Blueyed Girl.....
For the first time while staying at the BCV, we had a looong wait for a bus. Truly it was about 30 minutes and we barely made it into the park to see Wishes. I could care less as I am NOT a fireworks person, but everyone else wanted to see them:

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/IMG_0631.jpg
It was very crowded immediately after the parade, so we ducked into the stores and made our way up Main St.
I ran into my girlfriends on the way to Tomorrowland:

Erin was sooo tired and conked out in the stroller. So we had to kind of pick and choose who went on what rides.
Kim and I went to Space Mtn to ride while I think the rest of the clan did Monsters' Inc.:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008599.jpg

Chapter 84 continued
Derek stayed with Erin and the rest of us journeyed to COP....no line..

Then Derek and Wendy did an Erin switch and we rode on Buzz:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008610.jpg
There was a line but it went super fast..the ride stopped for a few minutes so I was able to get a few pix:

Just what the heck is taking so long

After that derek, kim, dylan and I went on Monsters inc:

Kim and Wendy went on Stitch:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008548.jpg
We then tried to use our snack credits. If you remember from part 1 of this TR. At first something had to be snack worthy to get us to use a snack credit. Now it was...does a piece of chewed gum off the cement count as a snack credit. Well, we weren't that desperate, but close:

Off to Fantasyland we went. 1st stop Pooh. I waited with the still sleeping Erin:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008601.jpg
It was during the many adventures that Erin woke up. Dylan and Erin played for a bit and then we went to Philharmagic:

These bathrooms are usually a 4-5 flusher-crowded, stinky and wet, but at 12:30am not so bad. So take it for what it's worth but it was a double flush.
wendy and I sad that it's our last day together.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008606.jpg
we caught a bus immediately and were back in our room by about 12:50am according to my notes. ESPN was closed. So I took a few cans of beer and walked around the Boardwalk and enjoyed my last night at this resort........

I'm still around. I am wicked busy (is that an appropriate use of the word wicked?).
I'm in the process of reading and catching up (not quite as far behind as I thought I was - must have just missed an update before because the next one I discovered I had indeed read) and saw this and had to reply.
As a Maine native, I can most definitely tell you that you did use the word wicked appropriately. "Wicked good", or "wicked bad", or "wicked hot" are all acceptable. :teacher:
WENDY!!! I'm not sure if I ever congratulated you on the birth of Ashyln, but just in case I wasn't around and didn't - CONGRATS! I haven't seen a picture of her yet (hoping there's some in here somewhere), but I'm sure she's just as wicked cute as Erin and Dylan. :goodvibes I can't believe she's 5 months old already!

The same thing happened to us last year with the snack credits! We had like 18 snack credits left, tried to just get a whole bunch of stuff before we left MK...had a huge debacle with that, then ended leaving everything in the dang room when we checked the next morning. :headache: I am so sad for the cheese danish that I didn't get to eat :sad1:

Jordan Finally our Meet !! Can't believe it eas almost 11months ago:rolleyes1
I sure hope we get to meet again all of us !!
I can't either. It seems like yesterday and at the same time forever ago.
Wicked cool.
Great update!
Thanks. I barely got it done last night. I was sooo tired.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww you got to meet Blue and Rosie. I am jealous. It looks like you had a great night. You sure rode alot of rides. I thought it was usually very crowded on EMH nights. I am glad I got to meet you but I wish I would have gotten to meet the rest of your crew too.
The mojo was back just in time for Wendy and Kim's last night....
9 rides in about 3 hours. Not bad.
:rotfl2:
I done my job....
this surprises me because you always comment on my fireworks pictures! they are honestly my favorite part, i think.
I love your pics! As you can tell ours did not come out as well. What I love is seeing the fireworks through someone else's eyes. Someone who can appreciate it. So when i see your pix, I know they were taken with special love and affection...and clarity.
:rotfl2: i really thought you had your arm around her!
It does look like it huh...:thumbsup2
how awesome! hi, guys! :goodvibes englishrose was right before me in my very first coffee maker swap at pop century last year and she left me a really sweet note.
that's a coincidence for sure. she is sooo nice.
 OMG........flat people porn! although the pirate isn't flat.
you guys got a lot done that night! i'm impressed.
I feel like I need to take a shower after seeing those pix...;)
We would do EMH at MK again in a heartbeat.

I got more than I bargained for there with the NJ tubbers...
It was great reading your installment on lunch at CRT since I'm right now trying to decide if I want to try eating there or not. Perfect timing for me. :thumbsup2
Maybe Wendy will comment on it since Kim and I didn't go. They like it, but remember we used credits...
And lastly - TV monitors in the bathrooms at ESPN Zone??? :lmao: Can't miss a second of the games, eh? I wonder if they're in the women's bathroom as well. For some reason, I think not.
I think we know the answer to that question now...and no I have never gone in there to look....
Nice updates...
The pictures of you and your girlfriend are great...but I couldn't help but notice that it seems like she doesn't even know you exist..... :rotfl2:
Its good to be back reading your report :thumbsup2 your updates always make me chuckle
We OC people need to stick together.
Many of my girlfriends knew I existed....:rolleyes1

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008552.jpg
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I wonder if they later talked about the crazy guy who was stalking them?:rotfl:
They may have talked about me, but I wouldn't have understood.:)
haha,
i really thought you were touching her as well, would have been funny if she turned around and saw you
:rotfl2:
I don't what I would've done if that happened.....
As for the tvs in the womans bathroom at ESPN...I think there were tvs there. I am not 100% positive since it was Sept 07 I was last there...but I am pretty sure.
you have urinals in the women's bathroom?;)
Hahaha, I'm cracking up at the picture where it looks like you have your hand on her shoulder and you're pointing out a pin! :lmao:

Back to the regularly scheduled update:
It was Monday morning and everyone but me was leaving...:sad2: :sad1:
Everyone woke up and Derek cooked us breakfast with the grip of food we had leftover. After breakfast I caught a cab and checked back in for the remaining 2 nights of the trip.
This is what I saw when I walked into the resort:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008627.jpg
Dang! My mojo was gone....
But much to my surprise, the line moved VERY quickly and I was up at the front counter in about 10 minutes and guess what? That's right...my room was ready!!!!! Mojo intact!
I was in the 70's section on the third floor. I don't have my room number in my notes...:confused3 But here's the view from my room:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008629.jpg
After I settled in a bit, I made my way over to the bus stop to head over to Epcot World Showcase as I was to meet up with everyone before they left....

Love the pictures. Happy Birthday to Wendy!!! In the picture of Erin and Dylan - is that the Nala and Simba tha have magnets in their noses so when you put them together they "kiss?!" If so I had those EXACT stuffed animals when I was younger and I LOVED them!!! They looked exactly like that, too funny!
I'm so sad to see the trip slowly coming to and end! I feel like I've been following it forever :lmao:

Chapter 86. Monday, February 11th. Day 12. Part 2. Epcot from a different viewpoint.
When I last left you...I was on the way to meet the rest of the gang at Epcot before they all took off to head back home.
I tried to call both Derek and Wendy on their cell phones with no answer. I knew they were going to be in the World Showcase so I just made my way over to that part of the park...
I was alone...well sort of...Do you think it's wierd to talk out loud to a cardboard cut out?
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008632.jpg
I walked over to the World Showcase. I came upon some peeps and was going to talk with them, but they ran screaming when they saw me talking with "her":
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008633-1.jpg
The thing about being on your own....you get to experience the parks from a completely different viewpoint. You have nowhere you need to be..no ADRs to rush off to....I decided to just sit on a bench--this bench to be exact:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008636.jpg
This is what I saw from the bench.....

Get out of my picture!!!!;)
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008637.jpg
After sitting for a few minutes, I decided to head out to try and hook up with the gang. I tried the phones again but still got no answer.
I stopped at the Norway Pavilion. I love the detail:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008638.jpg
My new best bud enjoying the entertainment:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008639.jpg
About this time Derek called and said they were in the World Showcase. Wendy couldn't find her cellphone, but thinks she packed it. I think we agreed to meet at the Germany Pavilion in a few minutes.
I grabbed a seat on the nearest bench and took a few more pix as I enjoyed the view.

Thanks! You can check out pix @ www.okada-family.net... enjoy! You can also see some pix I posted on post #3211 and #3222 (both on page 215).
EMH was great - Dylan loved Buzz so much that we went on it three times in a row with our fastpasses... it was great because Erin usually used to always get to pick the rides but since she was asleep, it was all about what he wanted to do. So cute.
The pictures of you and your girlfriend are great...but I couldn't help but notice that it seems like she doesn't even know you exist..... :rotfl2:
I guess that's only fitting since Jordan says he treats his girlfriends like they don't exist... hee hee.
It was great reading your installment on lunch at CRT since I'm right now trying to decide if I want to try eating there or not. Perfect timing for me. :thumbsup2
Although I do love the Major Domo's pie entree, it's probably more about the experience than the food. But as long as you don't mind the whole princess thing, it's fun... and definitely if your kids love the princesses, then it's a treat and makes for great photo ops.
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t317/Goofy4you/wantedposter-1.jpg
This is HYSTERICAL. So perfect.
Ok she has this mom of little ones crying over here. How cute is she? I hope she got candy in her lunchbox that day for a snack.
She can be cute at times... sometimes she says things and I wonder where she gets it from... she's growing up too fast.
Note to self...avoid Japan at all costs.
Let's just hope these posters don't make it over to China or you're in trouble.
Chapter 85. Monday, February 11th. Day 12. Part 1. The one where everyone leaves.
This sounds like a Friends episode... "The one where...." Ha ha ha.
I can't believe Wendy is 40! She doesn't look a day over 30.......it's so not fair!
Happy Birthday Wendy!!
Thanks! Well, as it were, I was officially calling it "the 10th anniversary of my 30th birthday" so we can still say I'm 30 (ish....). Hee hee.
Love the pictures. Happy Birthday to Wendy!!! In the picture of Erin and Dylan - is that the Nala and Simba tha have magnets in their noses so when you put them together they "kiss?!" you should write a guidebook, "a tour of benches at the word showcase by jordan and flat winkers".
We've actually talked about this - like how normal (and I use the term "normal" loosely... what? we're not normal?? :rolleyes1 ) guidebooks give ratings for adults, kids, teens for rides, restaurants, etc... We were going to rate them based on comfort factor, sleepability, etc... WDW for old people. We were going to have sample day itineraries taking you from bench to bench to bench.... maybe we'll have a book for the "Undiscovered WDW... from benches to bathrooms." Ahh, what a fun title. :rotfl2:
Wendy - I just got a chance to check out your pictures on your website. Ashlyn is beautiful! :goodvibes And I can't believe how much Erin and Dylan have changed since this trip! I guess it HAS been a year. :rotfl: Thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2

Well, the Gang--Wendy and Derek and their 3 kids, her parents, Kim and her boyfriend and myself will be heading down sometime next year. Either February or June.
Does Kim know about this? I didn't realize you'd gotten a buy in from her... Maybe we're planning a trip she doesn't know she's going on....? Hee hee hee.

Those relaxing days/times come so few and far between when you are at WDW. It's nice when you can slow down and appreciate the magnitude of what Disney does compared to every other theme park out there.
I totally agree.

:rotfl2:
that is great! :rotfl2: i'd definitely buy it.

Chapter 87. Monday, February 11th. Day 12. Part 3. The gang's final hours.....
As I ready myself for my trip to China, I look back on this trip and I miss sooo much about WDW. Someone asked me on Friday how I can go on to WDW over and over again. For me...it's about getting off the plane and immediately feeling that humid air walking down the jetway. It's about walking through that airport. It's about getting to that WDW resort and walking in those doors and being hit with that feeling...you know it. If you close your eyes...you can feel it too. I'd go back for that first initial feeling alone......
anyways.....so as i was checking into the rest of the gang was checking out of the BCV.....and getting ready for a few more precious hours at Epcot before heading to the airport.....

We met up outside the Germany Pavilion and continued Wendy, Derek and the kids' last hours at WDW.
We went to the China Pavilion and saw the movie there:

We went on Maelstrom...even Erin. She was a bit scared, but she liked it and has recently mentioned that she would like to ride it again.
On our way to Mexico. We heard and saw the mariachi band, but someone walked in front of the picture:

::yes:: i hear ya! i hate it when people ask me how i can go back so often. i don't understand how people go to the beach YEAR AFTER YEAR. humidity, sweat, salt water, sand all over everything.....not my idea of fun! now i do admit that i love laying in the sun on a nice pleasant morning or late afternoon before the sun goes down and listening to the ocean. but everything else about it just doesn't appeal to me. but i don't fault them for it because i know some people enjoy that. i've been to WDW 5 times in the past 2 years and i STILL have yet to do everything! i haven't even come close. and every single experience is always different. besides that, i love that i can just let go of everything else around me and be in my own little disney-fied world. some people just don't get it.

5 pages left... I wonder if we'll make it...
I love the way you describe arriving at WDW, just as everyone else who has posted has said. I've been once and it was the most elating thing just stepping off the plane and feeling the humidity and making my way through the airport, watching all of the tired little kids who wanted to be excited but were too exhausted, knowing that in just a few short hours, I would be at the Happiest Place on Earth. And as soon as I saw the Walt Disney World welcome sign, I knew this was a wonderful new place. And just being in the crush of people waiting for the parks to open, I felt so elated. It's odd how some people seem to feel it, and how others just don't. How dull their lives must be... (Oh, and I loved that article Kathy. :upsidedow )
Wow. China. That's just...absolutely amazing. It's been a dream of mine to be able to go their for quite a while. The Olympics only heightened that desire. :) One day... How long are you going to be gone? You probably posted that somewhere earlier but I haven't sifted through the dozens of pages that pop up over night.
Oh, and it seems I might be around your neck of the woods in a little under 2 months to go to Disneyland! Whoot! I figure it's one of the happiest places to celebrate a birthday. ;)
In case I'm not around again in the next week, happy traveling Jordan!

Jordan, I remember back when you first started your PTR.... how you always hoped that planning your trip (and eventually going back to WDW) would be much-needed therapy for all the stressfull things that had been happening in your life at that time.
There is such joy in your report and so much love in your family... I know that your hopes for the trip came true. :grouphug:
Now... on to the next PTR!!!!
Kathy
I know what you mean about my PTR.....where I was in my life...I'm hoping to reflect on the whole trip in my wrap up....I guess it'll be in part 3.....
Okay, everybody.
5 pages to say something and say goodbye.
250 pages.
I'm hoping to get to one more update in before hitting 250 and then I'll start on the final leg...it should really only be maybe 5-10 more updates for part 3.
I can't believe you're going to China! I think that is so exciting! I'm sure I'll be thinking of you while I'm touring the china pavilion..........you'll be in the real place!pixiedust:
We can compare pictures....
PM when you're here.....
I'm leaving in 6 days......:)
I love your description.......
Great entry, Jordon.
I think you hit the nail right on the head, the way you described "that feeling". It's exactly how I feel, how we all feel. It's a feeling like no other.
Have a great time in China. Oh and your next trip to WDW, make ressies at Boma. It's awesome!
I plan to hit at least one or two new restaurants.....
First. Great report Jordan!! I just loved it!!
Yes, I get to meet Blue eyed Girl, Winkers, Wirki & Sarilas. We are all pumped!
Hlrababy was supposed to be there too, but canceled her trip. :sad1:
That's so cool.....what happened with Hlrababy?

Great report, Jordan. Wishing you a safe trip to China - and back home.:flower3:
Thanks..!!!!!:thumbsup2
I will have a good time in China!!!!!
Nice farewell pics! I'm sorry the gang is gone, cuz your TR is getting close to the end - of course, not that I wanted to remind you, but it is almost a year since your trip! :rotfl2: Please come by and post a couple of China pics when you get back!
I can't believe it's been a year. Posting these last few days up on the DIS has brought up all sorts of feelings.....
I will post pix....
And this is why I am a member of the DIS! Because you all "get it" when nobody around me understands the "IT" I`ve met alot of great friends here, some I have met. :goodvibes a lot whom I hope to meet, and still mean the world to me like I`ve known you all forever...Thanks Jordan!
have a great and safe trip to China! ::yes::
ED!!!! I feel exactly the same way....
great update and pics.
I get the way you described but for me it is also that I can go there and be fat and people don't snicker at me. :thumbsup2
You are so right about that Scott!! I don't worry about my weight when I am there, it is great :rotfl2:.
I love you both for who you are...not how you look.....

Bummer. At least she's got more planned..

Well it's either Boma or Tusker House as I heard they are similar.
Then probably Ohana and/or Kona Cafe.
Then probably a character meal (I don't do character meals generally speaking).

Chapter 88. Monday, February 11th. Day 12. Part 4. Under the Sea
Kim and I were bummed that the "O" family had left, but we had one more table service meal together and then Kim had to head to the airport for her trip back to Cali.
We made the famous stop at Club Cool:

Kim enjoying the beverages:

Kim and Beverly not having a great first meeting:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008665.jpg
Kim did a little shopping. I did a little bench sitting/floor sitting. This is one of my favorite spots to take a breather when it's really hot. It's never got a ton of people going through it....

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008663.jpg
Then it was off to the Coral Reef Restaurant:

Inside:

Drinks...mine is the purple one called Octopus Juice. It was good..and I usually like drinks with fruit as a garnish:

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008679.jpg
After lunch Kim wanted to do a little shopping. I happily oblige as Mouse Gear is one of my favorite shops in all of WDW.
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008680.jpg
Kim is happy that she found something:

and sad she's leaving soon:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008682.jpg
Kim wanted to go to the France Pavilion to get some snacks for her trip to the airport. I think we were still at about 18 snack credits.....:scared:
We stopped and took a few pix on the way:

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008685.jpg
While Kim got her snacks, I found a bench what else?

Picture of me on said bench:

view from said bench:
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc299/jordanyosh/wdwfeb2008687.jpg
Kim came out with some treats and then I walked her over to the International Gateway and we said our goodbyes:

Bye Kim....

And then there was one.
I was happy to be alone, but sad that I was alone.

Jordan and I were discussing this this morning and what the feeling is like... it's like going home for Christmas... it gives that familiar feeling of comfort... seeing your old room... where you grew up... bringing back all those memories of "back in the day when things were simpler"... you know what I mean.
People don't understand why we enjoy going back year after year (and it doesn't have to be WDW, like DH likes to go back to our timeshare in Maui year after year probably for the same reason)... you don't have to think so hard about what to do, where to go, where things are, etc. You can go and immediately be "on vacation" without having to orient yourself and figure out where things are and all that.
Not that it's not fun to go to new places, but sometimes it's a lot of work to situate yourself to a new environment, rather than the feeling of "coming home" to familiar surroundings...
Ahhhhh. I can't wait to go back.

Mmm, your dinner at Coral Reef looked great-that's exactly what I had there. I thought their strip steak was better than Le Cellier's.
It does feel really weird to be sad for somebody to be leaving, but still have things to look forward to. I'm an only child, and I still like to be alone sometimes. Dh can't understand why I don't always want to go to the pool with them.....hello, mommy time!

I think timing is critical. If you can hit off peak times the noise factor might not be that bad. I've sat by the glass before and that's awesome, but we sat in the third and last tier this last time and it was still nice.
Both times I've been to Coral Reef the food is good. I mean it's not Flying Fish or CA Grill, but it's good. I'd go again.

That picture of Kim's expression when trying Beverly was awesome. :thumbsup2
Me loves a good steak!
And I love that picture of you and the "beerholder" t-shirt. :rotfl:
Some day I'd love to be at Disney alone - for at least a couple of hours. :goodvibes
Everyone needs a bit of alone time...
I love red meat.
Kim knew that it wasn't going to taste good, but wanted to try it.....
Great Update. So sorry Kim had to go home  . But I am interested to see your solo opportunities here to come!
I loved eating at Coral Reef. It was some YUMMY food!! :thumbsup2
Have a great time in China. Be safe and return home quickly.
We will be thinking about you :grouphug:
E,
My solo time was rather uneventful....well I do have 1 or 2 more good stories to wrap up the trip.......
Coral Reef hasn't disappointed yet.
I will have a good time in China...I think.....
I'll be thinking of all of you while I'm taking pictures for sure.

Hi Jordan,
Just recently started reading your report, and I've really enjoyed it! I love your relationship with your family and friends, I love the crazy picture taking and the stalking of the peeps, and I love the 1/2/3/4 flush rating system. :cool1:
I had my alcoholic coffee as dessert...I think...
Is it possible that you had the Bailey's and Jack Daniels mousse? I had that when I ate at CR, and it looked just like that.

Hi Jordan! I just discovered your amazing thread tonight. I will be leaving soon for my first WDW trip although we live in Southern Calif. Since you know both DL and WDW, I have a lot of questions for you, but hope it is okay to ask you:
1) I need to buy a souvie for one of my doctors who is a major Haunted Mansion fan. He has never been to WDW. Is there anything that is only sold at WDW that's not sold in DL?
2) We've only got three full days (4 nights) so I'm thinking day one - Epcot, day two AKL, day 3 HS. What are your favorite rides at WDW that you cannot get at DL?
Thank you, Jordan. Loved the photos, the tongue ones, the "getting back to your roots" and more.

WELCOME TO MY TR!!!!!
There are a few of us on the DIS from So Cal...Goofster, Disneyland Mama and myself....
1. Haunted Mansion is in Liberty Square/Frontierland at WDW. I've never personally seen WDW specific HM merchandise. That's not to say it doesn't exist. But I don't know where you'd find HM merchandise.....
2. If I only had 3 days at WDW......Hmmmm......
DHS can be a 1/2 day park:
Tower of Tower (better at WDW than DCA)
Rock N Rollercoaster
Toy Story Mania (only if you haven't done it at DCA, although the queue is better at WDW)
Shows: They're all pretty good. Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Indy and Lights, Motor...it kind of depends who you are traveling with.
Great Movie Ride (dated but still okay)
So if I only had 4-5 hours...ToT, RocknRollerCoaster, Lights, Motor Action, Toy Story Mania...and then whatever else you could get in
Skip: Sounds Dangerous, Star Tours, Backlot Tour.
Animal Kingdom:
I love this park: Ride: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Everest, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl,
See either Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo...you may not have time to see both. They are both excellent.
If you can do the trails, do both.
You can skip: It's tough to be a bug (if you've done it at DCA) and the Conservation Station( although very educational, it's a time eater).
Epcot:
This is a day and 1/2 park: Test track is a must. Mission Space is you can handle the spinning.
I could go on and on. Let me know. I can devise a whole itinerary for you based on group size, where you're staying etc....

This is my updated (1/27) version: (because I don't think Jordan has read it yet). I think it's a pretty good plan now that Wendy convinced me that Cal Grill res was throwing everything off.
Ah, you are truly kind, thank you, Jordan!!
Waving hi to Goofster, Disneyland Mama. :wave2:
Okay, this will help trim things down. Going only with DH (no kids) and we both have bad backs and I'm sorry to say to you who loves these but we don't do thrill or rides like ferris wheels that deal with heights. At DL, we love the visual rides like HM, POC, and we don't do (gasp) Splash Mt, Space Mt, Matterhorn, those rockets. The wildest DL ride we do is Indiana Jones and that's pushing it. We can do rides like Star Tours (just to illustrate our level of comfort) and spinning teacups. I suspect we cannot do TOT but am not sure.
I doubt that test track and mission space are for us... ( can't even picture test track).
We love animals and Africa so AKL is the park I'm most excited about.
We're staying at Beach Club, water view (because it's had the rehab recently and close to Epcot). We'll be there Feb 9-Feb 13.
We arrive late, 9 PM, so I'm hoping we'll have a room with a fireworks view - thinking then we'll order room service and watch it?
Tuesday - Epcot (EMH), Coral Reef lunch ADR. Dinner at Marrakesh. (I know this is not the best day to visit Epcot but I am hoping the slow season will be in our favor)
Wed - AKL Tusker House lunch that gets us the Finding Nemo special entrance. It's late hour AKL but we'll leave for a 5:30 Jiko dinner. Taxi to Yacht club to be there 8 PM for special fireworks cruise for Illuminations.
Thurs - DHS. Lunch at SciFi as DH is a scifi freak. Leave 1/2 day for MK. I'm thinking Haunted Mansion (because it's my fav and I'm thinking there will be some differences in the WDW version), see Main street. Dinner Narcooses.
Fri - we leave  around 10 AM
I did buy sponsor Mike's plan, well worth it but I wish I had bought it months earlier (but it is still helpful!).
I am so tickled you are looking over my plan because you know both parks (WDW and DL) so well. :hyper:

I doubt that test track and mission space are for us...
If you can do the teacups, you might be able to do M:S - it's technically only a very high-speed spinning ride (no jolting) but depends on how bad your backs are... they do probably have warnings on the ride, but you can also do the non-spinning version of the ride if you want to experience it...
Test track might be harder because it is much more jarring and whipping around in a real car. TOT is up-down, not back/forth jarring, but if you can't do the drop rides, then maybe forego this. Probably the same for Rock n' Roller Coaster.
Tuesday - Epcot (EMH), Coral Reef lunch ADR. Need to book a dinner
Wed - AKL Tusker House lunch that gets us the Finding Nemo special entrance. It's late hour AKL but I have a Cal Grille Dinner res at 5:50. Can't stay for Wishes though because have a special fireworks cruise for Illuminations. (will taxi to and from dinner) I know this is not a very efficient plan but it's how the reservations ended up.
Thurs - DHS. Lunch at SciFi as DH is a scifi freak. so if you think we can do this park in 1/2 day, we can go to MK for the other half day and stay through Wishes. I'm thinking Haunted Mansion (because it's my fav and I'm thinking there will be some differences in the WDW version), Phantasmic, see Main street and maybe Wishes (we don't have to though as DH not fond of standing, esp in crowds). Not sure where to eat (cal grille is full until very late).
Can you switch your Tusker House and SciFi ressies? Because it would be better if you were at DHS on Wednesday because 1) you won't be there that that long anyway, 2) it's quick to get to being at an Epcot resort and 3) since you have your CA Grill ressies that night, you can go directly from DHS to the Contemporary or take the monorail from the front of Epcot. In any case, it's less convenient to be coming from AK that day, especially seeing as you have the back issues, you might really enjoy more of AK since a lot of that park is just leisurely enjoyment of trails and shows. Not a lot of thrill rides or anything that you'd need to go on. It would be a shame for you to have to cut that day short just to get to CA Grill for dinner.
Also, Fantasmic is at DHS (not at MK like it is at Disneyland). And if you've seen it at DL, it's not nearly as good at DHS as it it here in CA. So unless you're really set on it, I would skip it there. It's in a theatre, which is not as cool as being on the Rivers of America like it is at DL.
Actually, now in looking at the EMH schedules, my suggestion would be this if you can swing it:
Tuesday: AK (see if you can get the Tusker House/Nemo ressies this day). Spend the majority of the day there since you like this park, and then spend some time in Epcot (World Showcase) in the evening (a very short walk since you're staying at the BCV).
Wednesday: Epcot (FW and WS) To see both sides of this park will take a fair amount of time. You'll be skipping some of the thrill rides in FW, but there's still a lot of stuff to see. I would spend the bulk of the day here, and then you can go to your CA Grill ressies @ the Contemporary. If you are not dressing up a lot, you can even take the monorail from Epcot (transfer at the TTC).
Thursday: MK in the morning (Early Magic Hours) and DHS in the evening (Evening Magic Hours). You can hit MK in the a.m., get the few things done you want to, and then head to DHS by lunch. You can make either lunch or dinner SciFi ressies if you can... it's late night hours there, so they're open until 10pm.
Just my two cents. Enjoy!!

Wendy, I think I lost my first reply. I wanted to say thank you so much. What I've done is changed Cal Grill to Jiko's. It was crazy all that running around and I was really sad that we were not going to try Jiko's. I've been to Africa twice and I love this type of cuisine. We're not going to be very dressed up as we will stay in the park, but we will have long khakis or slacks and I usually pull out a scarf. It would be hard if it was the heat of summer but with the mild weather now (and in two weeks), I think we'll be fine.
I booked 5:30. Then we'll leave at 7:30 to get a cab to get us to the Yacht Club marina by 8.
On our last day (and I'll PM you details why I can't change the park days), it'll be dhs, then MK, then boat to GF for Narcooses. Will get there around 7:50, watch Wishes from outside, then have a drink and wait for our 8:45 res (unless I am able to get it earlier, which is what I wanted).
I didn't know there was a non-spinning option on mission space - so then we could do it.
Thanks to the poster who said TT was okay for her! Maybe we can handle that...
It was so nice of you to look at my plan. Oh - dh wants to know if they have the beignets at WDW like they do in NO Square at DL?

The new plan sounds good. The only thing is that allowing only one day at Epcot will limit you on all you can accomplish. There are so many great things there - especially for you if you like the more scenic, sit-down attractions vs. thrill rides. However, with those type of attractions, they tend to take longer and you have to time it right (for things like "show" attractions). Often we are right by a pavillion and realize the next show is 30 minutes away... so then you have to decide whether to stay there and see the show, or go do something else and come back, but then you might miss the next show... oh, the dilemma. However, since you have late ressies at Narcoosee's you *potentially* could squeeze in a little Epcot (WS perhaps) in between DHS and MK (see my notes below). It’s a lot to fit in, but hey, that’s what you get for only being there for three days. Shame on you (ha ha ha ha ha). But, since it’s your first time I’ll give you that. You will soon learn that, even for “veterans” like us, we stay a minimum of 8 days so we’re not running around like crazy people.
Oh, and I think they only place they have beignets are at Port Orleans resort… not in the parks.
So here’s my comments on the new plan - if it looks ok, then I'll throw in some additional comments re: what attractions I would suggest:
Tuesday - Epcot (EMH), Coral Reef lunch ADR. Dinner at Marrakesh. So you should hit FW first thing and then make your way back to WS since that will coincide with your ressies. I would try to get all your FW stuff in first, and then you can get a few more WS things in on Thursday between parks if you so choose.
Wed – Animal Kingdom (AK) - Tusker House lunch that gets us the Finding Nemo special entrance. It's late hour AKL but we'll leave for a 5:30 Jiko dinner. Taxi to Yacht club to be there 8 PM for special fireworks cruise for Illuminations.
Thurs - DHS. Lunch at SciFi (what time is your lunch?). Get there at opening and then maybe leave after lunch. I would take the ferry over to Epcot (it’ll drop you in the back at World Showcase). Spend some time there and then you can head to MK to go on Haunted Mansion and do some things they don’t have at DL. Then head to dinner at Narcoosees. Or, you can skip Epcot if you feel like you’ve seen enough. We really like Epcot so that’s why we usually spend several days there, but you have to pick and choose for yourself…
Fun fun...

Wendy, you are really kind to help me out since Jordan left. I hope he has a wonderful trip.
It is our big mistake that we only allowed ourselves 3 days, 4 nights. My DH still cannot imagine spending a week there, even though he loves Disneyland.
Lunch at Sci Fi is at 11.
What else is at MK that is not at DL that we would like? We walk to walk around and see the differences. But I hear you, we may like Epcot a lot and want to see more - so your idea of where to do that is very interesting.
(I am sorry this is messing up Jordan's thread since he isn't here now - should we move this to PM? - or maybe it can help others if it's here...)
I only have two more days to talk to you here and get this straightened out as we are traveling first. Really appreciate it! :upsidedow
