I got my permit!

this morning I went to get it and passed the test with an 84!! yay! and the ones i missed were i narrowed it down to 2 answers and chose the wrong one
the only thing that sucks is we have a new law that we have to have our permit for 6 months so i cant get my license until september 26th which is almost a month after my 16th birthday! but it wasnt my fault..its the stupid state it took them over a month to send me the info so my mom could teach me to drive...but at least I got it now!
2day I drove a little bit home! :)

so who else has their permit? or who has their license?

Congrats!!! I dont get mine untill May 5th, so only like a month or so away!!! I need to go up to the place and get a book to read!! hehe!!

I have my permit. I will have had it for a year at the end of may.
i'm in the process of working out my problems with driving which i've been dealing with since i got my permit. hopefully i will have my license by the end of the summer.

what i love now is that we dont have to take a driving test...its optional!

so on september 26th I just go and get my picture taken and i have my license

Yeh, New Jersey decided to be overprotective too .. Usually, you would get your permit at 16, and your license at 17 -- No questions asked. Well now you still get your permit at 16, but a *provisional* license at 17, and your real license at 18. All the provisional one says is that you can't be out driving after a certain time, and it puts restrictions on who and how many people you can have in your car .. We take the written test during sophomore year in driver's ed in school. So I got my permit in September, and will *hopefully* get my license September 4th (my birthday .. and also my first day of being a senior!) at 9AM. Only, um, 5 more months haha.

Congratulations Jules!! I didn't even know you were going for your permit. You know that's the same grade I got on my test too!

I already have my license, but as Lola said, we have a stupid new law in New Jersey. Fortunately I made the cutoff date, so I was able to get my license at 17. But anyone else born after 1984, has to wait until they're 18 to get their real license.

Congrats Jules!! You'll be cruisin haha. Here in PA you can get your permit at 16, then 6 months later take the test to get your license. Even though I'll be 17 soon (June) I don't have my permit...I admit it, I just don't have the skills to drive lol

Hey Congratulations Jules!!!! That's great!!!

I got my license a month ago and it's great!! I've gone out like every Friday night since then! lol. Yeah they're kinda overprotective here too. New drivers can't have more than 1 person besides themselves in their car for 9 months after they get their license. Kinda sucks, but it doesn't really matter cuz you'd only be w/1 other person when your on a date anyways right? :D :D

In Massachusetts we can get our permit at 16 and 6 months later we can get our license.
BUT we have to wait another 6 months after that (until we're 17) before we can drive anyone under the age of 21 besides our sibs.

yup we have the law you can only have one other person in the car not counting siblings but its only for like the first 6 months of driving or something like that
and they added a law that says if you're under 18 you cant drive between the hours of midnight and 6 am...which isnt a big deal anyways
